IG Attempts the News: What's a Pokemon?

Last time on “Chris Bores wants to be Newsarama now”
Is he getting paid by comic book companies?

What will this week bring?

Stories from August 12th 2013

“WWE 2K14: 30th Anniversary WrestleMania Mode Announced”

Oh yeah, Bores was a wrestling fan at one point. Forgot about that.
This story is about how the next WWE game will have a campaign going through the 30 years of WrestleMania. For fans, that sounds really nice.

“Sounds like a winner to me! Unless they decide to revisit the whole Naked Mideon Story Arc. Or the Patterson and Brisco Bra and Panties Match. Then I’m burning my copy!” … Wha?
Okay, doing some research, the first thing he’s referring to was a gimmick from Dennis Knight that happened outside of WrestleMania. I’m pretty sure this mode will only cover what happened in the actual WrestleMania events. The second thing is his lame attempt at a joke since Patterson and Brisco are men.
Besides, he didn’t even mention the greatest part about this game. The ability to play as the Ultimate Warrior! Load the spaceship with the rocket fuel, load it with the words!

*looks at tags* He misspelled The Rock as “the orck”. How do you miss typos that obvious?

“Conan O’Brien Plays Atari 2600 Classics: Clueless Gamer”

Alright! Old news!

“Back again is Conan O’brien as the ‘Clueless Gamer’. Close cousin to the name ‘Irate Gamer,’” Personally, I think that name would fit Bores better. He often has no clue what he’s talking about.
“Some of these will actually be covered in the History of Video Games Part 6 releasing soon in where I cover the Atari system.” How soon is “soon” in your warped idea of time? Keep in mind, it’s been 17 months since the last one. Just stop.

“Food Fight – Food Mascots in Mortal Kombat”

Another picture he found cool, and it’s food related. Of course it is…
Not sure why he calls it Mortal Kombat, it’s just violent fighting. Not all violent fighting is Mortal Kombat.
Hitting the jump reveals he listed every single character in the picture. On the top he lists Kool-Aid Man, or rather “Kool-Aid Guy”. Seriously? He’s a character on your own damn show and you can’t even get his name right? Come on!

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Art: Last Turtle Standing”

More awesome pictures he found… yaaaaaay.

Now the title of this series is “goodbye, my brothers…” and Bores wanted to showcase that with italics. Okay, that makes sense. Except he forgot to turn off italics, and the rest of the article is in them, making it half normal and half italics. And you claimed to have worked on newspapers?

“Don’t worry, No need to feel sorry for them because this is only a work of fiction. The real ninja turtles are running around trying to keep the technodrone from destroying us all. thank god.” First of all, it’s Technodrome not “drone”. Pretty sure everyone would see it as an even greater threat if that was the case. Second, and I think this AVGN quote is appropriate here, they’re not real! Stop acting like they’re fucking real!
You’re over 30, you should be able to separate fantasy from reality. If someone tries to claim this is a joke, I ask how is this a joke? There’s nothing to it that seems like humor.

“Epic Best Buy Prank: The Useless Box $99.99”

This refers to a prank by the artist Plastic Jesus, where he places a useless box on Best Buy store shelves and makes it look like a real product. Seen it done before…
“Simply a work of pure genius if you ask me. (Although I do the same thing with my Irate Gamer DVD’s the the Best Buy DVD selection. Take that Best Buy!)” Well, it is the only way you’ll get people to buy them, by tricking them. Not that you’ll get any of the money. Didn’t really think this plan through huh?

“Japanese Woodblock Nintendo Characters – Mario Kart and More”

More pictures… for fuck’s sake!
There’s real news out there! Why not report how the Xbox One no longer requires Kinect to function? Or how Bulletstorm didn’t break 1 million sales and was considered a failure? Or how humans have spent 2.85 million years total playing Call of Duty?

“Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Expansion Pack Being Teased?”

Is that… actual gaming news? I don’t believe it! He’s actually talking about something related to video games that isn’t related to god damn Skylanders! Oh wow. .. He’s going to screw this up somehow isn’t he?

*reads though* Not too horrible actua- waaaaait.
“The Console version of Diablo 3 arrivals on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 3, while the PS4 receives the game sometime next year.” So we’re just going to forget the Xbox One exists? Cause Diablo III is coming to that as well.

“Super Luigi-U Bros. – Luigi Hijacks Chicago’s L Train For Game Release”

Could you be anymore wrong with that title? It’s “New Super Luigi U” not … Super Luigi-U Bros. In fact, “Bros” isn’t even in the title, the logo for the game purposely crosses out that word to show that Luigi is the only playable Mario brother.

“Nintendo recently tweeted this picture of Luigi Hijacking the Chicago L Train to promote the release of the hard copy of Super Luigi U Bros releasing very soon” You really couldn’t find a better word than hijacking? You make it sound like Luigi violently took over the train and held everyone hostage.
“Right after this picture was taken though, the L train stopped in a rough neighborhood and a gang of Koopa Troopa’s walked aboard and pick pocketed hundreds of golden coins from poor Weegee.” Get it? Because Chicago has crime… *pukes* At least he didn’t call them “Koopa Turtles”. He’s learning.
“Funny, I did the same thing at E3.” You’re saying you robbed Luigi? Goody, more jokes where Chris claims he’s a psycho. Haven’t seen these in a while.

“X-men Rogue Almost in The Wolverine Movie”

At least he spelled Rogue right.
He quotes an article about Rogue almost appearing in The Wolverine and how they didn’t do it because it would have felt forced.

“Good idea. Lets not start ‘crowbar’ing people into this movie or we’ll have another Gambit type situation on our hands.” Weren’t you one of the few people defending his appearance in X-Men Origins? You were claiming that all the characters were developed, making me doubt you even saw the movie.
“Although I wouldn’t mind a Bill Compton appearance, but that would be just silly.” Who? *looks him up* Oh, a character in True Blood. Maybe he meant his actor Stephen Moyer? *looks up his roles* No he never appeared in anything related to Marvel, but he’s married to Anna Paquin, who is on True Blood and played Rogue in the X-Men movies. … Yeah, I’m declaring this reference a massive reach.

UPDATE: Good timing that he brought up X-Men Origins: Wolverine here. On August 16th, the good folks at RedLetterMedia uploaded the newest Half in the Bag, where Mike & Jay looked over both solo Wolverine movies. During it, they make two jabs towards IG’s X-Men Origins review, mocking his use of “All that and a bag of potato chips” and the fact he gave it an “A+”.
You can watch it here: http://redlettermedia.com/half-in-the-bag-the-wolverine-vs-x-men-origins-wolverine/

But that’s not all, if you actually go to IG’s video and read the comments, you’ll see one left by RLM’s YouTube channel saying “Amazing review!” Obviously sarcasm if you’re at all familiar with their work. There’s also plenty of RLM fans raiding the comments to, some asking if he’s actually serious with this video. Sadly, he was. All his movie reviews were like that back then. Now, we’re lucky to get anything, and the last movie review was an 11 minute vlog of Man of Stzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz next story.

UPDATE 2: Oh lame, Chris deleted all the comments. I'd post a screencap of RLM"s comment but... I didn't get one. Damn.

“Star Trek Crew Beams Into Microsoft’s Lobby”

At the time I saw this, he didn’t even give this article a picture, or a proper headline. It looks like a mess.

“Microsoft on Monday” That’s interesting, is that a new event, or a new branch of MS? No, it’s just more of his terrible grammar. The acceptable way to say that would have been “On Monday, Microsoft…”

By the way, this story was submitted to him by “Ben the Ubernaut”. I know that name from the comments on GotGame, as one of the only people that actually cares to comment there. Apparently he’s now giving Bores stories.

“Assassin’s Creed Movie gets new writer”

Forgot this was a thing… I think everybody did. Probably because the story in Assassin’s Creed is kind of dumb.
Wait, it’s coming in 2015? Okay, studios? You need to stop planning everything for that year, it’s extremely crowded already.

“Lets all cross our fingers and hope this movie will be a downright good time!” Hahaha no. Sure it might look pretty, but it will full of bastardized history and a lot of nonsense involving aliens. Also, it will suck even more if the movie follows Altair rather than Ezio.

“Pokemon X/Y 3DS – 100K Sell Out in Hours on Amazon Japan”

Wait a second, a post about Pokemon that isn’t about the one involving toy figures? Maybe he’s improving?

“I didn’t realize this franchise was chugging along with such a powerful following” … What? Where the fuck have you been for the last 15-17 years? Pokemon has always been huge. Were you in a coma in the 90’s when it was at its zenith? Did you completely forget how Nintendo dedicated a good chunk of their E3 Direct to Pokemon?

And what’s weird is what he said on Facebook at one point. A fan asked what his favorite 90’s cartoon was, and he said “I don’t know… Pokemon?” So he knows it existed back then. What is going on?!

“Holy freakin cow! Talk about a home run! Is this a warning sign of things to come when it’s released here in the US in a few months?” Yes! Everyone that’s versed in gaming sales, NPD or Media Create, knows full well just how popular Pokemon is. It’s going to make a fucking killing when it comes, and since this is the first worldwide release it will do even better than before. How do you underestimate this series? Pay! Attention!

“Super Smash Bros Wii U – Pilotwings Stage Teased”

“They are milking all these announcements for all their worth.” Were you completely unaware of the Smash Bros. Dojo back when Brawl was in the works? They had new announcements every day. In fact they were more detailed than the single pictures we’ve been getting here.
“Lets hope for a secret new Bi-plane playable character! Smash those brawlers bi-plane!” …. I don’t even know anymore.

“Japanese Stealth Batman – Square Enix Play Arts Kai DC Comics Variant”

“Look for this item in December 2013 with a price tag of $89 dollars?! Whew, looks like little Joey won’t be getting a Batman figure again this year from ol’ Scrooge Mc-Irate Gamer.” Or you could get him a much cheaper Batman figure. Wait, what am I saying? Joey isn’t fucking real! What is this crap?
Also, the correct term would be “Ebenezer Irate Gamer” or “Irate Scrooge“. Scrooge McDuck wasn’t as terrible a person as Charles Dickens’ Scrooge. If you’re going to do those jokes where you insert your name into things, at least do them correctly. I’m going to go vomit again.

“Skylanders Swap Force: Dark Edition Starter Pack”

When does Swap Force come out? *checks* October 13th?! DAMN IT!

“Maybe I’ll pick one up for the dark Wash Buckler and Blast Zone but the others, I’ll just give to little cousin Joey. There, now stop bugging me to play with my Skylanders. They are mine, and I don’t share! Rawr!” Joey! Isn’t! Real! He is a character you made up for your show. Quit pretending he’s actually your cousin. What is going on? This is the second story in two days where he pretends Joey is real.
Also, funny how he says here that he doesn’t share, but at E3 he claimed he plays the game with his family. That doesn’t match up at all!

“Realistic Pokemon Pokeball Replicas For Sale”

More Pokemon news? Maybe someone is ghost-writing the site?

“Want to be a Pokemon Master? Too bad because I’m going to be the master! there can be only one!” So, he didn’t realize Pokemon was still popular, but he knows about the term “Pokemon Master”. I’m so confused.
Two things. One, you can’t call yourself a Pokemon anything until you’ve played the games, and I know you haven’t. Two, Pokemon Masters aren’t actually real. It’s a made-up, intentionally vague term created to prolong the anime and keep Ash as the protagonist. They really should have followed Pokemon Special’s example and have a new protagonist every game arc, with previous characters returning for the remakes.

UPDATE: Hahaha wow, the moment I say I want an animated adaptation closer to the games and manga, the “Pokemon Game Show” event drops a megaton. Coming this October is “Pokemon: The Origin”, an all new animated series following video game protagonist Red and his rival Green (or Blue for Western audiences). If it’s anything like Pokemon Special, it’s going to kick so much ass.

  2. Since today is the WWE SummerSlam Axxess Live stream, they would reveal the roster on who's in the game and the 30 years of WrestleMania mode is. All I can say is: The SHIELD better come out from the crowd via staircase or I'll be pissed. I mean, in Smackdown vs Raw 2008 (which I always consider the worst in the series) on the PS3/Xbox 360, the Sandman from ECW came out from the crowd while the Wii/PS2 version had him coming out from the entrance.

Anyway, going by Irate's article, 30 Years of WrestleMania mode is taking a page from WWE Legends of WrestleMania Relive, Rewrite, and Redefine mode and WWE'13's Attitude Era mode into one. You relive moments from every classic WrestleMania match from WrestleMania 1 to WrestleMania 29 and complete objectives (ex: body slam Andre the Giant as Hulk Hogan, reverse John Cena's Attitude Adjustment as the Rock) to unlock wrestlers, attires, bonus matches, and arenas.

However, WHY would 2K Games include Naked Mideon's storyline and Gerald Brisco vs Pat Patterson's feud which were only treated as comedy material during the WWE's Attitude Era? Even R.D. Reynolds from WrestleCrap.com discussed these two events as being two of the absolute worst ideas ever that the WWE ever pulled during the 90s.

Dennis Knight portrayed a pig farmer named Henry O. Godwinn (HOG), along with Phineas I. Godwinn (PIG)[Mark Canterbury] during the WWF years. Granted, as a kid growing up watching WWF/WWE, I thought the Godwinns were cool by dropping a bucket of slop onto their opponents. Both the Godwinns would be faces at first during their run until they became heels after their feud with the Legion of Doom/Road Warriors. It was there that Phineas injured his neck during a botched Doomsday Device by the Road Warriors. They would turn on their manager, WWE Hall of Famer Hillbilly Jim, and would later have Uncle Cletus Godwinn (Tony Anthony) as their manager. The Road Warriors would later defeat the Godwinns again to win the Tag Team titles. Later, Knight and Canterbury would later dropped their pig farmer gimmick to become Southern Justice, the bodyguards for Tennessee Lee (Robert Fuller). Unfortunately, Canterbury would have to retire due to injury his neck again, leaving Knight by himself. Knight would become Mideon, as part of the The Undertaker's (Mark Calloway) satanic stable The Ministry. He would often be partnered up with Viscera (Nelson Frazier, Jr. best known as Mabel from the hip-hop gimmick group Men on a Mission with Mo and Oscar [M.O.M]) After the Ministry disbanded, Mideon would later become Naked Mideon during a brief run in 2000. He would wrestle a few dark matches under the name Tex Slazenger until 2001 he was released under good terms.

As for Patterson and Brisco, the storyline goes that the late Mike Lockwood (aka Crash Holly from the Holly Cousins, along with Hardcore Holly) put the Hardcore title belt (an old WWF Eagle belt smashed to bits by the late Curt Henning aka Mr. Perfect during an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event in 1989) on the line 24/7. Every wrestler (and WWE employees) would try to pin Crash for the belt. Sometimes they were successful, other times they lose it in seconds and it goes back to Crash. Gerald Brisco was able to pin Crash and he became the Hardcore champion. Pat were later turn the tables on him during a celebration with him and ends up winning the belt, becoming the oldest person to win the belt. The two would end up squaring off in an Evening Gown Hardcore match for the Hardcore title at King of the Ring 2000 (one of the worst matches of the year btw) until Crash Holly comes into the match, destroys both men, and pins Pat Patterson to win back the title.

Anyway, Doesn't Chris Bores know WWE is PG now? You have no more Bra and Panties matches, First Blood matches, and Fulfill Your Fantasy Matches? That's not appropriate for kids. So there won't be no nude Mideon or Patterson/Brisco feud.

  7. "They really should have followed Pokemon Special’s example and have a new protagonist every game arc, with previous characters returning for the remakes."

I agree. I think Ash should have stopped being the main protagonist in the anime series even as early as the start of the Hoenn region. I seriously lost interest in the anime show during the Battle Frontier and Diamond & Pearl episodes. This is mainly due to the fact that the anime series is so predictable and boring these days because there is almost no originality anymore in my opinion. This is probably why I enjoyed the side episodes (like Pokémon Chronicles, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, etc.) more.

  8. Oh, dear Arceus. Head, table. Table, head. How is he not aware that Pokémon is that popular? Has he seriously been living under a rock since 1998? Of course it's popular, it's Nintendo's second most popular franchise next to Mario! I will have to think about that Pokémon Origins (I hope it's better than X-Men Origins Wolverine, I'm glad better internet reviewers are still making fun of Chris). I wasn't sure about supplanting the main anime (with Ash, Pikachu and the others); but I think this Pokémon Origins could work given how much success Transformers Prime did with that. My favorite anime at this moment may be Gurren Lagann, but I still regularly watch Pokémon. Even though the anime has declined in popularity since Johto (which I'm in the minority that likes it); it still often has gets top ratings in both Japan and the US (I check the ratings on TV by the Numbers and Anime News Network at least once a week). I am excited for Pokémon X and Y, and I think I'll have to break out the combined Picard, Sisko, and Ash facepalm for Boring Man claiming he can be a Pokémon Master. He'd probably Action Replay his way through it. I will get a 3DS for X and Y (there were other games I wanted on it, but those closed the deal); and I think Special and other Pokémon manga (Electric Tale of Pikachu, DP Adventure) are good model to follow. Not blood, swearing and tits, just hard PG on the level of Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Wow. This got us talking.

    1. Of course this did bring up one problem for me I am going to have to choose between Pokemon, A Link between Worlds, and Dream Team. I seriously cannot choose for which two to get and which one to leave out in the cold.

      Delete
    2. I'd go for X and Y and A Link Between Worlds. Don't feel bad, I'm also looking into other highly anticipated games of mine like Grand Theft Auto V (I hope I can get the PS3 bundle of that); Super Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost Worlds, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Kingdom Hearts III, and The Wonderful 101 (I'm still going to preorder it Dan, I just need to get a Wii U first). And seeing other people's reactions to Pokémon Origins has me convinced it could be a massive success in the vein of Star Wars or The Avengers. Darker storyline, truer to the games, and production values that almost make it look like something by Studio Ghibli (go watch From Up on Poppy Hill, guys). I just hope that we don't screw it over like we did with Pokémon Chronicles (which is considered 4Kids' worst Pokémon-related dub, even worse than their infamous one of Mewtwo Strikes Back. I think being in-house at Pokémon Company International will help it more). I doubt they will, though.

    3. You know that suggestion seems like it would go wonderfully. Oh and for the Origins one I haven't really watch Pokemon since season 1 and even then I never saw much, hopefully Origins will actually give me a reason to watch it.

  10. So the roster for WWE 2K14's 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode are:

    Old School Legends:
    Hulk Hogan
    n.W.o Hollywood Hulk Hogan
    Andre the Giant
    The Rock
    John Cena
    Stone Cold Steve Austin
    Shawn Michaels
    Ultimate Warrior (pre-order bonus)
    Undertaker
    Big Show
    CM Punk
    Sgt. Slaughter (Iraqi Sympathizer version)
    Edge
    King Kong Bundy
    Brock Lesnar
    Chris Jericho
    "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
    Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair (WrestleMania XXIV attire)
    Triple H
    JBL
    Bret "Hitman" Hart
    Mick Foley
    The Miz
    Yokozuna
    "Macho Man" Randy Savage
    Alberto Del Rio
    Big John Stud
    Randy Orton

    Retro gimmicks
    Undertaker (Purple glove version)
    "American Bad Ass" Undertaker
Brock Lesnar (without the chest tattoo)
    Shawn Michaels (HBK version)
    John Cena (Thuganomics version)
    The Rock (90s version)
    Chris Jericho (Y2J version)
    Kane (old school Masked version)
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair (WrestleMania VIII version)
    Big Show (with hair)
    Triple H (long hair)

    1st time ever/Big Surprise Returns
Batista (last seen in WWE' 12)
Goldberg (last seen in WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain)
"Big Daddy Cool" Diesel (Kevin Nash's first WWE gimmick)
"The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon (Last seen in WWE WrestleMania X8 on the Nintendo Gamecube as Scott Hall [his real name] as part of the original n.W.o with Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash)

I have to say, the roster is alright but the biggest shock to me was the return of Goldberg and the inclusion of Diesel and Razor Ramon. Now that is awesome. Plus, the WrestleMania arenas look exactly like their actual venues (MSG, Sunlife Stadium, and Pontiac Silverdome; etc.)

Now, I have to wait for today's roster of WWE stars and DLC content.

    1. I won't be fully impressed until they include King Haku. I wanna play as the toughest in history, dammit!

      Delete
    2. Having Haku in the game would be great so the tag team, Colossal Connection (with Andre the Giant) would be a great team.

My biggest complaint are the Retro gimmicks. I mean, yeah, it's nice that they include that but it would be better as an alternate attire instead of a slot. Look at WWE'13. Bradshaw and Farooq have two attires in one slot, The Acolytes for the Ministry stable and APA.

My suggestion would be that they replace the retro slots and have them as alternate attires and use those slots for other old school WWE wrestlers that were in WrestleMania like:

      Dino Bravo
      "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin
      Don Muraco
Demolition (Ax and Smash [alt attire: Repo Man)
      IRS
Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon [alt attire: Tugboat])
Strike Force (Tito Santana [alt attire: El Matador] and Rick Martel [alt attire: "The Model"]
      Bad News Brown
The Twin Towers (Big Boss Man [alt. attires: plump version when he was a heel, slim version when he was a face, and Corporation attire] and Akeem [alt. attire: One Man Gang])
The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell)
Rhythm and Blues (Honkey Tonk Man and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine)
      "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff
Mr. T (Guest celebrity in the game)
      "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Power and Glory (Hercules and Paul Roma)
      Harley Race
The Fabulous Rogueas (Raymond and Jacques [alt. attire: The Mountie])
      Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff
      Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart
      Owen Hart
The British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith)
      Lex Luger
Doink the Clown (both Heel and Face version)

I can go on and on.

      Delete
    3. We're at a time where downloadable content is common with games. You'd think that WWE would capitalize on it more by allowing fans to purchase other legendary wrestlers who helped define wrestling. The day where I can pit Jumbo Tsuruta against Frank Gotch in a WWE licensed game is the day that my head explode in candy.

Look, I haven't seen most of Pixar's newest films, but they seem to be selling out, which is a shame because they made Toy Story and Up. And why release a sequel to Finding Nemo when it had a great ending and didn't need a sequel? Admittedly, Portal didn't need a sequel and it's sequel was awesome but still.

At least Toy Story has the excuse of having lots of potential with it's story.

Well, to be honest with you, Dreamworks have been getting better ever since Kung Fu Panda. And it's not like their films don't have heart in them. It's obvious they care about the quality of their films.

Also, could you elaborate on how you see Dreamworks as a total sellout? Thanks.

    7. @THE MINIONS
Kung Fu Panda and the first Shrek movie were the only Dreamworks movies I ever really enjoyed. The rest are cliched movies with talking and dancing animals with gross-out humor that were voiced by celebrities and uses dated pop-culture references. Don't even get me started on that ugly "Dreamworks face" that has to be used on every CGI movie poster.

One of the reasons why I think Dreamworks is a complete sell-out is because of how they try to leech off of Disney/Pixar's success on making knockoff films like Shark Tale (Finding Nemo), The Croods (Brave), and Turbo (Cars). They also milk their most successful franchises for what they're worth, by giving them multiple sequels, direct-to-DVD specials, TV shows on Nickelodeon, and more. Now, they recently bought out Classic Media, as if the news about them making a Peabody and Sherman movie isn't enough, I get the feeling they'll crap all over all sorts of classic cartoons with their new ownership.

Although Pixar is now going towards the same downward sprial that Dreamworks is at with the release of Cars 2 and the announcement of Finding Dory.

  12. RedLetterMedia directly referenced Bores' X Men Origins review... I THINK they were poking fun at him.

  13. I too think Pokemon: The Origin will be ten times better than the original series.

And I also watched RedLetterMedia's X-Men Origins: Wolverine review and WOW, it was hilarious. Bores got pwned so badly. XD

Wonder how his 'mommy' is going to handle against the RLM fans posting negative comments on Bores' X-Men Origins review. XD

  14. Hey guys, I've come up with the scariest and most sickening Irate Gamer moment. Chris Bore dance around his room with rave lights and gay bar music, wearing only a speedo/thong and is covered grease or butter.

    1. You call that the scariest and most sickening Irate Gamer moment? How about Chris blowing up Nintendo company?
... Actually, that's not scary, but it is sickening.

    2. He blew up Ubisoft, not Nintendo, actually...

ObBoresNews: Yeah, his "news site" seems more like a personal blog, doesn't it?

    3. I know. But he wants a darker Zelda games. Hell, given his personality, he will blow up Nintendo in no time.

  15. Personally, I think this whole failed news thing was more or less just a weak ass attempt to try and get back at people here and lasersquad over what she did to him.

In all honesty, it's been nothing more than a colossal failure for the most part. I wonder just how long he'll keep this up?

  16. Actually, since Bores claims to be a wrestling fan and seems to pander to the lowest common denominator of unthinking pseudo-fan dross and facile beliefs as to what constitutes maturity (e.g. "Zelda should get a gritty reboot," "Nintendo is aimed at kids" etc), I'm surprised he hasn't done a breakfast rant about John Cena's Fruity Pebbles commercials. After all, Cena still has a large number of people, mostly young men with rose-tinted memories of the Attitude Era, who maintain to this day that he can't wrestle and is only liked by kids and women, in spite of 11 years of contradicting evidence - not to mention it comes across as both chauvinistic and condescending to children, two sections of society Bores appears to loathe at least while in character as the Irate Gamer. So I imagine Bores, despite the fact that the consensus on Cena has been more or less positive from most 'smart' and 'insider' fans since at least 2006 (pretty much since ECW One Night Stand that year when he did a great job at playing the heel against RVD and earned a lot of peoples' respect) would latch onto the tiresome hate like a limpet, especially since it would give him a chance to moan about cereal.

"Remember the old Fruity Pebbles commercials? They were classics which involved Fred and Barney Flintstone fighting each other over delicious fruit-flavoured pebble-shaped cereal grains. But now we have this suck-ass gay non-wrestling douche monkey called John 'ass face' Cena on the box. Seeing him makes me want to throw up, which is the opposite of what breakfast is supposed to be, which is eating. You might as well take a dump in a bowl of Fruity Pebbles and call it Count Chocula! Face it, breakfast is ruined. Sub me plz"

    1. I used to like John Cena back then as the rapper gimmick, Dr. Thuganomics. However, once he starts winning the WWE title more than five times, I began to care less and got tired of him winning the belt like every month when the belt gets taken away from him.

If Bores is going to complain about Fruity Pebbles and John Cena, he should bring up the fact that the idea was first thought of from The Rock when he returned before WrestleMania 27.

"You come out here with your bright a** Purple Shirt! And before that, your bright green shirt and before that, your bright orange shirt! You walking around here like a big fat bowl...of Fruity Pebbles!" - The Rock

Even though it was meant to be a worked shoot at Cena for coming out in different colors, which some of the shirts are based on logos like the Boston Celtics and Breast Cancer awareness, no one in WWE would expect the fans to take it literal, and what do you know, there are fan signs of Cena being called a Fruity Pebble during a broadcast of Smackdown. In response, John is seen on TV eating Fruity Pebbles, The Rock gives a 10 year old John Cena fan a box of Fruity Pebbles, and WWE does a cross promotion with Fruity Pebbles by having John Cena advertising the cereal with the Grand Prize of meeting John Cena in person. I should point out that at WrestleMania XXIX Axxess, there was Fruity Pebble ring for kids.

OT: Last night at SummerSlam 2013, he lost the belt to Daniel Bryan and I was happy...until Randy Orton came out, cashed in his Money in the Bank, and defeat Bryan with the help of Triple H (Possible Evolution reunion coming soon). It surprised me a bit but still, Bryan should've kept the belt. Though I'm glad Cena isn't the champion...for now.

  18. I posted a comment to his Zelda article last week that he quickly deleted. It was honestly fairly blunt, but it wasn't unreasonable. I simply informed him that since Imagi's Zelda video was clearly inspired by Ocarina of Time, it was irrelevant to point out that Ganon's name was spelled with an extra N in the first game.

But...I also told him that his inability to own his mistakes was partly responsible for why folks disliked him, which I'm sure is why he deleted it. In fact, I mentioned that I was sure he would either dismiss it offhand or delete it outright, and he certainly didn't disappoint. The dude really can't handle criticism at all, even when folks are genuinely trying to help him improve himself.

  19. "Hahaha wow, the moment I say I want an animated adaptation closer to the games and manga, the “Pokemon Game Show” event drops a megaton. Coming this October is “Pokemon: The Origin”, an all new animated series following video game protagonist Red and his rival Green (or Blue for Western audiences)."

See, I don't think it's lack of closeness to the game is a problem. The only real problem is the unwillingness to either let Ash grow as a trainer (having him lose to an average newb) and maybe letting him win a game based competition, beating a champion and maybe at least some stories of having to hold onto the title.

Or as others mention, starting each season with a new lead.

    1. My god... it hurt so bad. How fucking hard is it to give ONE legitimate piece of criticism about a game? Not one, NOT ONE comment or remark that could be pasted off as a legitimate critique. Well... he finally got around to getting back to his "storyline".
