R.I.P Justin "JewWario" Carmical

This majorly sucks...

Justin's wife Jenny reported on Facebook that on Thursday, he committed suicide.
My heart goes out to his family and friends.

*sighs*

  3. Wow..... I really liked Kamen Rider Reviews....

I honestly wish the best to his family, RIP.

  4. My heart goes out to friends and family, especially his wife.

It's shocking and sad that Justin did this, we don't know why he did and probably never will. Speaking with a little too much familiarity on these types of situations, that tends to be the case. No one sees it coming, the so-called "warning signs" typically aren't displayed, and most of all help is usually not actively sought.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is, take care of yourselves and each other. If there's someone important in your life who might not know it, today might be a good time to let them know.

  5. Wait, WHAT????
    Why did he commit suicide?
Anyway, may him rest in peace.

  6. Even though I never saw his videos nor knew about him, it's still a sad loss. :( R.I.P JewWario. Sending my condolences to your family.

  7. Justin's videos were videos that I didn't watch consistently but whenever I did I felt like he was easily one of the nicer video producers for any channel. Not knowing him personally, he always seemed so upbeat and happy that this is a shock for me. Now I regret not shaking his hand and sharing some pleasantries at Magfest earlier this month.

RIP Justin. And condolences to all his friends and family who are affected by this tragedy.

  8. That is both very shocking and sad news to me. RIP JewWario...my condolences go to your family and friends. :(

  9. Yeah, that sucks...

Anybody knows why did he commit suicide anyway?

  10. You don't think bores knows this do you, or that he would try to get publicity by being a troll over the news?

    3. I admit I never watched any of JewWario's vids and the only times I saw him were in the anniversary Specials, but that doesn't mean I'm not saddened any lesser. This is shocking that such a nice and really outgoing person such as JewWario killed himself.

  11. Ouch. I never watched much of Jew Wario... But I do watched the pokemon movies reviews and Kickassia and he was funny in those. Seriously, My condolences to his wife, his friends and his family.

  12. ...What. Seriously, what?! This is insane! Man, he was one of my favorite reviewers, and while I was interested in imports before, he was the reason I went out and bought a Famicom. He even reviewed a game I requested, Labyrinth!

Man, rest in peace JewWario, you will be missed.

    Man, this sucks...

    1. That's exactly the same reaction when I discover that he commit suicide. Sure, I'm not a fan of him, but still...

  13. I wasn't an avid watcher of his content but he will be missed. Not many people have the ability to consistently interest and intrigue, but this guy, as evidenced by the condolences expressed here and elsewhere, was able to do just that for a worldwide audience.

He will be missed, and his talent will still be enjoyed. He won't be forgotten. My heart goes out to his wife and family.

  14. Christ in heaven, really? I... god damn. I never would've thought him out of all people would do something like that... my condolences to his family and loved ones.

I wasn't his biggest fan, but he was the kind of person where every time he spoke on something I thought, "man, I wish I had an uncle or brother like him". I won't lie, it kind of hurts me personally to know he went out like this...

  15. I know this is insensitive but anyone who commits suicide doesn't deserve respect, he left people behind to clean up his own mess and just because this event happened doesn't mean we treat him like god.

    1. Fuck you.
      FUCK YOU!
The only people not deserving of respect are judgemental assholes like you.

    2. Nobody who commits suicide is sound of mind. It's not up to you or anyone else to judge his decision since you're basing it on false assumptions of what his mindset would have been at the time by comparing them to your own. For him to have committed suicide he must have been in a place that I hope neither you nor anyone you know will ever have to experience. Be grateful of your ignorance since if you knew even 10% of what it must be like to be suicidal you'd be in tatters.

    3. ...Tell me something, Hillock (or perhaps "pillock" is a more appropriate name). Do you think the act of locking yourself in a bathroom, putting a gun to your head, and pulling the trigger knowing that your loved ones are just outside the door, is easy for Justin? I think by that point the "mess" is an irrelevant concern for everyone involved.
And no, Justin isn't a god. But he is human, and both him and his family deserve a little support right now.

    4. Depression is stupidly stigmatized. People seem to think that it's a choice that we make, and that we should just be able to get over it, and that there's something wrong with us if we don't. The fear of being misunderstood and callously ridiculed keeps us from reaching out and seeking the help we need, and eventually things get so overwhelming for us, and we feel so isolated and alone that suicide comes to seem like the only remedy to the anguish. People like you only contribute to all that.

So hey, maybe instead of running your mouth like a presumptuous twit, you could take this unfortunate situation as an opportunity to better educate yourself about the subject.

      Delete
    5. The cowards way out, he should never have done it and whatever reason he may had cannot justify his action. No matter what situation he was faced with that made him do it, he should have faced his problem instead of running away. I know what I said is insensitive but it's the truth and a hard fact of reality.

    6. Hillcock, I've been the other person cleaning up the mess. We're trying to offer sympathy to those who are currently cleaning up the mess. You obviously have a lack of understanding here, so maybe you should just keep your thoughts to yourself.

      Delete
    7. You have no idea how insensitive and cynical that is. You obviously have no idea what suicidal people go through. Do yourself a favor, and go educate yourself instead of being an ignorant twat.

      Delete
    8. No, Hillock, it's not reality. It's you publicly airing out your ignorance for all to see and coming across like a sociopath in the process.

Listen, if you are capable of even a small measure of empathy, I urge you to educate yourself about what real depression is and how it makes doing what you suggest very difficult for people who suffer from it.

    9. Don't bother with this guy. He's the same asshole who runs the "cinemasnobsucks" blog and the "spoonyonesucks" blog, as well as always leaving distasteful comments on Angry Joe's YouTube videos. Fuck you, go fuck yourself, you hateful bitch.

    10. Warning: Big post
Okay seriously.... I really didn't want to post anything in this section simply because the content is too morbid and any statement of condolence I could make would be an understatement.

Pearse Hillock... I'm very well aware that the idea of suicide is cowardly is a sentiment that is still overly engrained in society and has yet to solved because many many MANY people don't bother with psychology or its services. Just because people believe this on a large scale, it does not mean its okay to do so. This mentality encourages suicide more than anything else. Think about it this way, most people who commit suicide do so because they believe they cannot solve their own problems and that death will be a definite end to their own problems. These people have low self esteem and don't think they can handle their own problems. NOW do you want to label this person as cowardly? This is the mentality that has people chanting for building jumpers to kill themselves RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. This mentality doesn't say that suicide should not be done because it doesn't solve anything... NO it makes suicide something to laugh at and outright dares people to do it. It shouldn't take a smart person to put two and two together and realize that labeling an action as cowardly will result in isolated minorities (hmmm suicide people are an isolated minority!) finding that action as brave and valiant.
"whatever reason he may had cannot justify his action"
He killed himself... OKAY? Do you get that? He never said he was running from his problems. We don't even know WHAT problems he had. Would you say this if he died in car accident? The logic here is because he did not attempt to avoid killing himself he deserves to lambasted for not solving the reason why he killed himself. So he killed himself because he could not avoid killing himself. Circular logic! Suicide may not be considered logical but the human mind isn't logical, its based on fallacies and short form thought processes that can't possibly do everything correctly. Suicide victims aren't committing suicide over trivial matters or something that was easily solvable. While this isn't an absolute statement, suicide is generally seen as a manner to prevent the problem from getting worse. I mean seriously!? You've never considered the possibly that a suicide victim might have thought his existence was detrimental to other people?

"he should have faced his problem instead of running away'
What if his problem was something that was unsolvable or something that can't be solved reliably? Like self doubt? or internet trolls? Heck would you say this to a gay suicide victim? You shouldn't have committed suicide, you just needed to change the opinions of the bigoted majority... over 700 million of them! Hell going back to previous train of thought about how people can think their own existence is bad for other people how would you solve that problem? We can't solve problems like suicide by trivializing it. This is the perfect world fallacy. We assume that all problems have solutions and people can readily employ them. We can't pretend that the big issue is really easy to solve. The fact that you haven't manged to solve your own problem of inappropriately expressing yourself in manner that makes you look absolutely unlikeable is sign that the short solution "solve your problems" isn't as easy as it looks.

"I know what I said is insensitive but it's the truth and a hard fact of reality."

Yes it is terribly insensitive and the fact that its insensitive is a clear display of why it isn't the truth and why it isn't reality. Insensitive means to be oblivious of the senses. Its hard to make a argument when you carelessly throw out evidence and the senses themselves.

    11. "he left people behind to clean up his own mess"

Yeah so I guess that heart attack patients, those cancer patients and those murder victims are such assholes for getting killed before contributing to society. Those babies who died prematurely, yeah they should go to hell. You might think I'm being too sarcastic here and actually may be misrepresenting but the reality is that people who die always leave a mess. You've got to kidding me if you honestly believe someone can die without leaving a mess for someone else to clean up. Even people who die naturally after a full life span left some sort of mess Don't even try to argue that killing oneself intentionally makes a bigger mess because that's just digging an even deeper hole.

"just because this event happened doesn't mean we treat him like god"
Where the fuck did this come from? Hey hillock? Please show me exactly where we said jewwario was a god or in anyway a deity? What are you expecting people to say he deserved to die? You didn't offer an alternatives other than that.

In the end, all I have to say is that its disgusting that society still has trouble understanding basic concepts. How can we even hope to examine and a multifaceted aspect such as suicide when we have people so dumb they can't tell the difference between feeling sorry for someone and worship? The world just keeps finding more ways to blame victims for being victims and contradicting themselves at the same time. I choose to take a stand against this bullcrap we call quick justice and a perfect world because the world isn't fair, that's why there are 'messes' to begin with. Whenever something bad happens to use we immediately say the "world isn't fair" yet when someone else gets killed its entirely their fault. Suicide isn't spontaneous, it for all intents and purposes, was a very slow death.

TLDR: Hillock the next time you want to be a hick, do some goddamn research and put yourself in the victims shoes. Take your perspective on life off the microscopic scale and start thinking from a bird's eye view. You demonstrate zero knowledge of suicide and its concepts and your misconceptions are so off the mark I would have trouble believing you weren't a time traveler from the the 1940s where smoking was cool and suicide was considered spiteful.
This will probably be my last post in this section because quite frankly I hate talking to people who trivialize advanced concepts.

  16. This is a major shock as I'd heard nothing about it. I won't pretend to be a fan of his, I've never watched his videos and only have vague memories of him in the anniversary specials. Nevertheless, it's always totally depressing when stuff like this happens to anyone, let alone people involved in something you hold dear.

It's a shame that there's still people who incorrectly and shamefully cite suicide as 'selfish' as if he weighed it up as some sort of play or because he was mildly inconvenienced by something. People who kill themselves do so for one of three reasons - clinical depression/other forms of mental illness, terminal illness and not wanting to go through pain, or because something else has happened that makes them think there's no way they can live on. They don't do it for a power trip, or for the lulz, or because they're heathens, or whatever other bullshit you can come up with. They do it because there's something either chemically wrong with them that causes them to feel that way or because circumstances outside of their control have led them to the tragic belief that life has forced their hand to end it. To judge people like you'd judge someone of completely sane and clear mind is already a fruitless task because they're quite clearly suffering in some form or other.

I feel terrible for Justin and his family, but this isn't a time to be arguing over who the victims are. It's not a contest. Everyone here - Justin, his family, his friends and fans - are the victims and it sucks that this has happened.

    RIP

There's still a difference between supporting the little guy and exalting himself to a position where anyone famous needs to hold up to his standards of perfection.

    2. Well, it's mostly anyone who dares try a Kickstarter campaign.

Maybe Justin committed suicide because he was sick of people calling him "Justin Beiber"? I get that insult quite a few times in Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch.

      Delete
    3. Probably not. Suicide tends to be more complex then that. Granted minor inconveniences add up but we shouldn't take someone's suicide as an excuse to go play conspiracy theorist. We'll never know answer simply because none of us know him in depth.

    4. This was his response to someone on his channel comments section:

  18. While I'm not very familiar with JewWario aside from Suede's Pokemon movie reviews, it's still depressing to hear this nonetheless. I give my sincere condolences to his family.

  19. I'm going to really miss him, he was a genuinely nice guy. Not a "fake" person as you see so many times, he would have done anything for you. He was a genuine friend.

But I feel especially bad as I had a chat with him a few days ago too. He never let on his feelings, which makes it feel worse as I would have tried to help.

I knew him for well over 5 years and immediately hit it off with him because of content as his YCPT series was essentially the Japanese equivalent of my GYCW show. Only he was far less lazy than I am :D

But regardless of what happened, the internet is a darker place without him.

    R.I.P. Justin.
