Isn't Stealing Clickbait Articles Fun?!

It's 2014 and Chris is still committing plagiarism! Did all those years of criticism and angry videos not tell him it was wrong?

Today on his site, he posted an article called 10 Disturbing Facts That Happened on Nicktoons Cartoons.
I looked in the article trying to locate the source as I know he's not dedicated enough to make a list like this (yesterday he made a post about custom Minecraft figures and said he was too lazy to convert centimeters to inches), but I couldn't find one.
Thankfully, Harrod did (thanks man). An article at Answers.com: 12 Twisted and Dark Things We Totally Forgot Happened on Nicktoons

Notice how Chris copied the exact same writing for each one. Except for two he removed for some reason (the Rocko's Modern Life character "Dr. Bendova" and the Ren & Stimpy scene where Ren forcefully removed the nerve endings in his teeth). Probably under the belief that removing them absolves him of plagiarism (it doesn't).

Chris... what the fuck man? I know this isn't the first time I caught you stealing from other articles (mentioned here) but now you're stealing poorly-made Buzzfeed-esque lists? I know you're desperate for money, but this isn't the way to do it.
Seriously, just because you stop stealing from one source, doesn't give you carte blanche to steal from others. This is the internet age, information travels faster then ever, people will find the sources.

Also, as Harrod pointed out, the English in the title is all wonky. "Facts that happened", facts don't happen, they just "are". A better title would have been "10 Disturbing Things from 90s Nicktoons". Oh and "Nicktoons Cartoons" is redundant.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention. I'm moving on Friday and will be without internet until Sunday afternoon. If Bores posts anything during that time, I won't be able to cover it until I'm settled in. Thank you for your patience.

  1. The only comment on Bores's post is claiming that the last section has an error in it (I'm surprised Bores hasn't deleted it for giving him criticism). Oddly enough, the original article got it wrong to. Its sad to see that Chris is stealing articles that seem to have about as much knowledge as he does....... I take that back, the article at least seemed to care about 90s nicktoons. Bores is just a piece of shit.

    1. It was NOT hard to dig up the true source of the list. I just googled, in quotes, a long and well-written sentence that Bores could not possibly have written.

You might think “How can you even do it that way; how big a quality difference is there?” Well, the only part of the article Bores wrote is this:

"Oh Nicktoons, they were a popularly watch program in the 1990s and after thinking back on things, you might remember that a few things were out of place." Hint: if Tommy Wiseau would reject your draft as incoherent, you need to study the language a little more.

The above is so badly written, I start to worry that we’re just being mean, like tripping a Special Olympian.

  3. Hey BatDan. I really like your blog. But anyways, you think that by now Chris would change his ways, but I don't see that happening. At this rate, by next year, he'll probably be wiped off the face of the internet.

    2. Be funny if decades from now, he's still sucking on YouTube and we're still peering through our bifocals to complain about it.

    1. Really? I was thinking an even more personal attack on AVGN, really ramping up the trolling and maybe a few felonies here and there. I mean if he has already shown he lacks basic morality, I believe its only a matter of time until he snaps.

Hopefully he'll just quit and do the smart thing and say "hey guys, I don't want to do this anymore. I'm moving on." and everybody will be okay with it and we'll all do something else.

    2. Well I bet IG will attack AVGN by doing about the AVGN movie. Also, I doubt it. Bores is like Radioshack the person. No matter what happens, they always somehow continue to float around.

      Delete
    3. IG won't bother attacking AVGN for the movie, he's too busy following in his footsteps. AVGN has a movie coming out that he took years to work on, Bores responds by making a 'movie' spanning several episodes where he's clearly just making the story up as he goes just so he can get it out first and his idiot fantards can claim AVGN was copying IG. Same goes for the videogame. The only way IG will mock AVGN for the movie is if some common complaint about it comes out to do with the budget or the IndieGogo campaign or the cities it's being shown in or the DVD release. He did the same with the Cheetahman 2 Kickstarter nontroversy because he wanted desperately to be seen as edgy and relevant by jumping on a bandwagon that barely even gathered any momentum to begin with and crashed almost as quickly as it began.

      Delete
    4. Don't forget about the fans either. AVGN's fans actually give a shit about AVGN, while IG's fans are just 11-year-olds who think they are cool for subscribing to someone "original".

  5. 'sigh' you know when I saw that article I thought to myself 'Hey, he wouldn't steal anther article, right guys?' But no, I forgot whom I was dealing with. Why bother with a website when your STEALING articles, it's alright to quote someone so long as you give them credit and not misrepresent what they say. I know it's hard to write an article, trust me. The amount of times I had to hit the delete key till I was happy with what I typed was painful but writing a good article takes time. Oh and before I forget anther one just got posted taking posters from the site Screen Crush and not giving proper credit. Asking to much here I know, but please people take this as a lesson to site your sources and to give credit where it's due.

  6. I thought he couldn't get any more blatant, but once again I underestimated the creative void and lack of self-awareness that is Chris Bores. What next? He'll start reposting Cracked articles with all the sneering cultural Marxist liberal guilt removed (making them about six paragraphs shorter in most cases)? Will he be reposting WatchMojo top ten lists with his boring voiceover and somehow having even more research failures and less enthusiasm than the original ones? Or maybe he'll just copy Mike Matei's idea for 'AVGN Clip Collection' and start doing top ten lists on his own videos. The Top Ten Useless Implementations of Special Effects, The Top Ten References That Have No Relevance To the Review and Nobody In My Target Audience Would Understand, and so on.

Actually, I'd love to see someone do a 'Top 10 Worst IG Jokes' list. The top three would probably be "Call 911 because I was ROB-bed," "Uh, thanks buddy, I just said that," and "Even a McKid could do it," but the rest would be pretty open. In fact, it would probably require a top 50 list to properly convey the utter inanity in his writing over the years.

  9. HAHAHA!! I knew it! Bores did delete the only comment on "his" nicktoons article. Sucks to also see that Chris still doesn't care for his real fans. You know, even though it surprises me that Chris actually has fans, you would think that he wouldn't take the privilege of actually having fans for granite. The few fans who like his content seem to be aware of the negative part of his ego, but they just seem to say "screw the evidence! I still enjoy these videos!" I wonder if any of them are aware that Bores has been hiding all their attempts to help him survive on the Internet....

    4. Eh I was considering people like Bieber and it pains me to say, Soulja Boy...but in those cases, I guess I don't really classify music as I do someone like James with more of a show type driven content.

@Dashing...I don't know if I'd say he's fully a celeb per se...he's still relatively niche.

If he starts popping up in more films or transitions to fully acting...maybe then.

    5. Rather than first at something, I'd suggest he's possibly the BEST example of leveraging the power of the internet into a career in film, on one's own terms with no groveling to the studio system.

That said, there've been less than 30 screenings of the movie to date, even though they all sold out. The real measure of celebrity will be if a future film of his can get wide distribution.

  13. Oh great, when the internet loses it's collective mind is a terrible sight to behold. While it is difficult to say whether or not Zoe Quinn was hacked and doxxed people did the unthinkable with Phil Fish. People hacked Polytron and released a lot of things one of which is a lot of emails Phil Fish only being one of them. This situation has gotten dangerous and it is a sickening reminder of just what people will do on the internet. I honestly don't care what people think of Phil Fish at this moment but it has to be stressed that it isn't only Phil Fish that could be affected by this but people who are only tangentially connected to him.

    ReplyDelete

    1. They didn't hack polytron. Phil fish is a manchild and he owns polytron... do the math. The message written there was essential "I am leader of /V/". Its even worse considering that they've already faked an incident with zoe claiming multiple hacked her tumblr, even though that's impossible since multiple hackers would be self defeating due to basic security systems (If more than one logs in, then the other gets the boot). It's hilarious that they're blaming other people on the internet when they are the EXACT kind of people who are sick enough to be disqualified from using the internet.

      Delete
    2. For those of you who want info about why this is another one of phil fishes mental breakdowns as opposed to elite haxors, take a look at this reddit section

      http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/2e9cyn/phil_fish_deletes_twitter_account_after_polytron/

TL:DR If someone did hack phil fish, then they clearly didn't just hack the page; they would have to access remote servers, personal computes and coincidentally, everything phil fish has access to and all within a dangerously short time span and having the ethics of phil fish.

I'm sorry phil fish, but considering the crap you do and the emotional strings you keep trying to pull, I'm not buying this, even if there really is a wolf killing all your sheep.

    4. I don't have any sympathy for this guy. After that whole "Five Guys Burgers and Fries" thing, someone on Twitter tried to come out about Zoe Quinn sexually harassing him, then Fish threatens the guy to keep him quiet. That, and a lot of other dodgy stuff, makes me say "good riddance".

And hey, if he's serious about selling the rights to Fez, maybe a nicer, more talented person (or group) can come along and do something with it instead. That game does not deserve to be connected to someone as vile as Fish.

      Delete
    5. Also, I do feel bad for all the decent people at Polytron for having to deal with that hoser of a boss.

      Delete
    6. Yes Phil Fish has said and continues to say a lot of things that are just plain stupid making it obvious that he has a complete lack of empathy. But one thing that needs to be stressed is to never stoop to his or Zoe's level period or gaming will continue to not be taken seriously. Honestly it is time for gaming as a whole to actually grow up.

      Delete
    7. I honestly feel that both sides are in the wrong. Phil Fish is wrong for saying stupid shit and being a narcissistic bastard, yet /v/ is also wrong because they've put so lives in danger.

      Delete
    8. I say if Fish spent as much time as he does propogating e-drama as he would on another game, maybe he'd have a leg to stand on. As it does stand, though, he's totally lop-sided. I'm prone to believe he's a one-hit-wonder who refuses to admit he's already out of material.

Time after time, Bores has proven that he's nothing but an autistic prick, being too stubborn to listen to constructive criticism or anyone's advice for that matter. To partly quote Linkara, I say we just let Bores 'hide under some dark corner of the Internet and let him disappear'. It doesn't matter what crazy bat-shit stunt he'll pull off next to get attention. Just don't give it to him. Just don't.

    1. Autistic? Please... -_-
As much as I hate that criminal, I highly doubt he has autism. He's just utterly stupid.

      Delete
    2. Agreed: autistic people tend to be much better at gaming, quickly develop an encyclopedic knowledge of whatever they are interested in, and they are unconcerned by what other people think of them.

      Delete
    3. Consider how his acting and humor often comes off as awkward rather than funny. Or how he hardly socializes on the Internet and seems completely withdrawn from the people around him.

      Delete
    4. Might I add, he's awfully self-absorbed in his own realm where he thinks he's Mr. Know-It-All about video game despite all the contrary.

      Delete
    5. As much as I would like to call this autistic, especially given his lack of social filter and very messed up sense of humor; the clear problem with calling Chris Autistic is that we don't know what he is like as a kid and autism generally means that one IS working to overcome their problems. We can't keep a dangerous and stupid trend of using autism as an umbrella term for people who make stupid decisions in their lives.

Given the plot of the irate gamer show story and how seriously Chris treats it, there's clear cause of concern for social development disorders but this behaviour is more connected with anti-social disorders as opposed to autism's "I thought I was doing good but I can't learn as well as others so I need help". Chris Bores doesn't 'learn' but only when him 'learning' would prevent him from hurting people or from trolling someone. Last time I checked, even Chris Weston Chandler learned to stop showing his penis on camera and is at least trying to dodge the internet. And that's more of an extreme case, considering the amount of routine changes and different jobs and works Chris keeps working on there's really no way he's autistic. There's clearly some disorder here but its either Chris's own mistakes or some other social disorder.

      Delete
    6. Ah, you see, that's the thing. I asked the question earlier before whether anyone knew anything about Bores' childhood and what he was like. But since I got no answer, I assumed nobody knew. Whatever the circumstances, I'm very curious to know about Bores as a kid.

      Delete
    7. Yeah I don't know and I don't think it would provide any important context on Chris Bore's asshole behavior as an adult.

It doesn't help that such data would be hard to verify, might be considered too personal and figuring out that Chris is autistic doesn't exactly change what he is today, a major asshole.

      Delete
    8. Autistic people, as far as I'm told, are extremely hostile and resistant to change, which would very much describe Bores, who hasn't changed his ways at all (or very little at least).

People with Aspergers, however, are slightly more flexible to change and actually make more effort to do so, and usually succeed. Again, that's what I've been told, but regardless, it's good to know the difference between people with autism and Aspergers.

I highly doubt Bores has Aspergers, imo. As for him being autistic, I merely assumed so judging from his childish antics. But really, we'd need to learn more about Bores for a better understanding of his behavior.

If this bellwethers the end of the blog, I'm sure that's for the best, but I kind of want to give him credit for sticking it out for so long against obvious public disinterest. 22. BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN

I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don't know how to cook or clean, don't want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?

American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.

This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.

In fact, I'd say he's a lot more mellow than when he started out; he went from attacking people criticizing his SSBB video to acknowledging that he has a different opinion from everyone else on The Last of Us. It's not worth getting worked up over him; he does this (mostly) on purpose, and even he says you should take his word with a grain of salt.

Anyone ever recall him reporting on any Smash Bros. news? Oh and yeah he seriously has not figured out how to spell things correctly. Oh and notice that he doesn't call it the 3DS version. Just the Wii U version. Even though the Wii U version is still set for Holiday 2014 and not October 3rd. Research is haaaaaaard.

    2. Yes bore pretty much patented inconsistency. How in the world did I forget about that?

Too be fair Xenoblade Chronicles is kind of obscure. Now if only there was something that allowed one to look up something they know little about to at least talk about with some knowledge. Doubt that such a thing will ever come to be though.

Shame there is no website that has details about the fact that there are two games and when they get released. I really don't know how people do research with access to information being ever so hard to get. Man that was cathartic.

  27. Okay, yeah I am so done with this year it is not even funny. Someone at Bungie said something so idiotic that he makes bores look smart in comparison. Seriously one of the community managers said that Destiny can never be completed since the goal of the game is to beat everyone in the multiplayer once and so every time someone gets the game the goal gets further away. I am going to need a really good game to just completely forget about this year.

  28. So... that Nintendo Direct. Lemme run things down.

1)Shulk confirmed for Smash. Aside from being really cool, the pose he's in in his character art on the Smash website is the same as his pose seen in the leaked screens, which all but 100% confirms the leak to be true. That's pretty nifty. I'm just hoping there are some characters that weren't unlocked when the shot was taken, because I'd love for Mewtwo to return. Oh, and speaking of Xenoblade...

    2) Xenoblade Chronicles for 3DS. I admit I haven't had a chance to play the game, but ever since seeing Chuggaaconroy's LP of the game, I've been wanting to. Now that's it's being released on the 3DS, I'll finally have that chance. The thing about that is, it will only be playable on...

    3) The New Nintendo 3DS. I'm personally looking forward to it! The 3DS I have now I've had since the 3DS was first released, and it's somewhat haggard. The rubber part on the Circle Pad fell off, the Touch Screen's scratched to hell, and...the top screen has a weird mark on it from the bottom screen pressing against it when it's closed.

The thing works, but I've been wanting to get a new one. Now, though, I'll be able to replace it with the newest model! That, and Xenoblade will only be playable on the new model because of more processing power. So now, not only will I be able to upgrade my 3DS, but I'll be able to play an awesome game I've been wanting to play with it!

So, what do all of you think of the announcements?

    1. I'm about a good quarter through xenoblade, gosh that game just sucks your time out into the vacuum. My only problem with it is the same problem many JRPGs have, too much emphasis on level grinding and by extension, too much emphasis on side quests that don't even sound remotely important. My favorite quest was the one in the swamp area, which requires you to go through poisonious marshes, patrolled by high level (I don't just mean high, I mean don't engage or you'll die level enemies) flying creatures just to get several items.

That said xenoblade is one of the few RPGS which makes exploration really fun and the detail in the environment is awesome. The jungle regions falls must be seen to be believed. And here I thought the Wii sucked at graphics processing.

    2. Well, first of all only the part about Shulk is confirmed for the leak. This wouldn't be the first time a leak was partially correct but ultimately proven false ( hai Palutena, mind telling us where the glee club members are?) Not to mention people seem to be getting confused and acting like the 4chan leaker (and liar) and the one who posted the illegal (and very suspicious) videos are one and the same. The fact that someone at Nintendo leaked things would certainly help make things look as authentic as possible. But that aside Shulk looks interesting.

The problems I have with the leak is the fact that the full roster is not revealed since if it came from someone at Nintendo the characters wouldn't need to be unlocked and if it was taken from the ESRB they would need to know the full roster to give an accurate rating especially if Bayonetta somehow turned up ( hello controversy in the making if she is added.)

For Xenoblade that might actualyl help me forget this year even happend although I do have a newer 3ds so it isn't that pertinent for me to get a brand new one. Find it funny how just plain bitter some people are about that though. Although I probably shouldn't read too many of those comments since I am on a reduced sodium diet.

    3. The thing about that is Shulk's pose in his character art on the official website is the EXACT SAME POSE seen in the leaked screenshots of him.

    5. That is quite simply irrelevant. Just because one character was confirmed does not mean they all would be and as stated it would be easy for someone at Nintendo to fake something. Chrom and Greninja proved that quite well what with the little E3 reveal and the fact that Robin's final smash starts with a photo cut in of Chrom. What I am saying is the leaker at Nintendo only saw the cut-in for smash since he wasn't privy to information backed up by the fact that Greninja was simply called a pokemon from X/Y. Considering the fact Nintendo was working on Gaur Plains it would logically lead to Shulk since every series with a playable character gets a stage at least.

Seriously what is with this all or nothing attitude going around. Just because one thing is the same doesn't mean it would make everything about it the same. Of course, considering the fact that Mario Kart 8 proved that rosters could be expanded as needed it is quite irrelevant who gets chosen at first since Nintendo will likely use DLC for it's actual intended purpose which is extending the lifetime of a game. Lateral thinking with withered technology, shame he had to die so early.

  29. Chris posted two new videos yesterday- a character checklist for Skylanders Trap Tea or whatever the new game is called.

I know we should expect this but I couldn't help but notice how many comments were opposed to these Skylanders videos. It is just so weird to see an internet personality continue to give the middle finger to his fanbase- whatever is left of it- and go full throttle into this downward spiral. What is Bores going to do when Skylanders fades in popularity? Bring back Irate Gamer? A new show idea? Give up?
