I'm sorry

Uggggh, what's the date? March 14th?! Where did the time go?!
Oh god so much Puppet Steve, and I imagine it's mostly the same crap. Chris is so lazy, and "safe", meaning that he won't try anything new. I can just tell it's all the same, it's always been for months. Do kids really like seeing the same thing over and over?
What has he posted? More Powerpuff Girls 2016. I don't think that show's doing well, Cartoon Network isn't spamming it like they do with Teen Titans Go and Gumball. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes off the air soon. Then again if morons like Chris keep buying the toys, it will probably last.
A look at the Sonic set in Lego Dimensions, wow you are late! That came out in November, what the fuck have you been doing?
Then I looked ahead and saw him reviewing Mario Kart 8 Happy Meal Toys. How desperate are you? This is the worst tie-in ever since he's only doing this for the release of the Switch. What makes this even worse is that these are OLD, as in 2014! WHAT THE HELL?! Why do you think anyone wants to watch you play with 3 year old toys that do nothing?! How dumb are you Chris? Then again, being late to the party has always been a thing for him.
Also, Zombie Steve is wearing red now. Because "he needed a new shirt" according to the comments. You are so retarded Chris.

So yeah... I've really got nothing. I'm sorry.
Been busy with work, and Zelda, and just life in general. You know how it is?
Chris really isn't giving me anything, he seems content vomiting the same content as long as it gets him views from stupid six year olds. Completely cynical and soulless, no effort at all. Just... why?

  1. BatDan, keep ignoring "Linda" and don't let "her" get to you. We understand that you're busy with life and other matters and this blog is just a hobby for you. But with IG dead and Puppet Steve not worth covering anymore, how about you make a post dedicated to IG's former fans on how he screwed them over and abandoned them for Puppet Steve, and then make a good-bye post thanking everyone for their support and move on? Chris basically has no content and you said back in late 2015, there will be no point in continuing with nothing new to talk about. You've covered just about everything wrong with Chris and there really isn't anything left to cover about the man. At least he's not making videos about bashing beloved classics anymore, or making lazy half-assed game reviews where he steals footage or plays them for under an hour. You been on here for over seven years and you do deserve a rest after doing an amazing job with this blog. We'll understand if you stop. Besides, while Puppet Steve is doing well now, if anything it makes Chris a complete shell of his former self now. He went from being an AVGN ripoff to a toy obsessed manchild. It's really just sad. Kids will forget about him with time and see his content as shit when they grow up. History repeats.

  3. Just a bit OT: Life can be really bizarre at times. Like there are stretches of time where you have nothing going on and just getting away from boredom everyday.

Then the next few weeks or so feels like one of the busiest moments of your life. Things to do, deadlines to meet, that sort of thing.

Sorry, I'm just rambling at this point now. :/ Yeah, I'm going into that busy phase. University is going to start, and my 2-year conscription is coming to an end.

    1. To add on more off-topic, I want to ask you guys: Do you think Konami can get back into the gaming industry, like bring their A-game (pun totally intended)? These past few years has been turbulent for their gaming department (the pachinko dept. is going well though, to my knowledge).

Their older games like Contra and Gradius (I grew up with the SNES, so the NES ones are not as memorable to me) have been quite fun for me. I have never tried Metal Gear Solid before though.

      Delete
    2. The advent of a sudden Bomberman revival seems like a fairly decent attempt. Although many still believe that even if Konami were to jump back into the gaming wagon, their long-built trust has crumbled for good. But as times change and management changes hands, there could still be a turn around. We must wait.

Also as a major MGS fan, I would recommend virtually any installment in the series. Cracking good gaming. Except, erm, maybe Metal Gear Solid 2.

Oh...My....God.... I didn't know. I had no idea. Soooo, first he ripped off AVGN, and now it looks like he's ripping off Jim Henson? He's ripping off Sesame Street and the Muppet Show. Wow. I can't believe it. He's got like 100 videos up and it looks like he's only been doing it for like 6 months. And, his channel just so happens to have "Minecraft" in the title. 4. I kind of thought that James might have been trolling Bores with the progressively getting angrier bit, but I doubt James would do that especially since several years have passed. Not that it would matter since Bores probably won't see it, seeing as how he's given up on anything having to do with video games.

  29. I agree that it may be time for this blog to take a cue from Chris and go into "semi-retirement".

If Chris does something stupid like release another book then Dan can always come back and update the blog.

It is clear that Dan doesn't really want to cover Puppet Steve and there isn't really a need to cover it, in my opinion. The episodes are beyond formulaic and if you've seen one, you've seen nearly all of them.

Take a break, Dan. You've earned it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It might be good to just end the blog entirely at this point, Edge XL. Chris has basically fully retired at this point on the IG side and stated he's done while leaving his old fans behind.

It's highly doubtful he'd release a second book and with the first one flopping, it would just be a waste of time and money for Chris to do a second one. I'm sure he took a loss from his first book.

Fully agree with Puppet Steve. It's pretty much the same thing again and again and kids will leave and forget about him when they're older. Dan doesn't need to cover the blog for the rest of his life. And there's pretty much nothing of substance now and seeing the same thing again and again is just pointless. Riffing IG was fun, but it now looks like that time is over.

And this blog was created to show how horrible Chris is as a game reviewer and since he's pretty much done with gaming now and moved fully into toys.

      Delete
  30. So... perhaps the next post will be a top 50 list of worst IG/Bores moments of all time? Afterwards, I think you deserve a long break, Dan. As many others have said covering Irate Gamer is fun, but Puppet Steve, not so much.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Of course its entirely up to BatDan what he does with this blog, but since he allows us to put our two cents in, I will concur about the list part, and add this: Maybe/hopefully he will do some list thingies in "honor" of IG's upcoming tenth anniversary near the end of April. And as far as ending the blog goes, I think it has some life in it. I would love to see it do some "final" breakdown on Bores years on the Channel Formerly Known As IrateGamer. That could in parts come in the form of lists. But I'm thinking that there are so many aspects of Bores IG career years that the blog could go on for a good while. He had so many things he tried to do on that channel (IG, IGN,I80s, box wars, movie reviews (he even briefly gave them their own title "Irate Cinema"), box wars, book reviews, Road Trip, Box Wars, Tech Reviews, motherfucking fuck fuck fucking Skyfuckinglanders, etc) (edit: how could I have forgotten HOVG) I think a good list type idea would be ranking his series or video types in order of worst to best. How about top ten moments of his "war" with AVGN? (Maybe a final post that is like a timeline of the events of it, though I guess that video that Ben fellow did on the IG opens up video covered that pretty thoroughly perhaps). Hell, I know this would be very pretentious of him, but I think BD/the blog deserves its own best of list (top 2 to me would be getting Ralph Baer to watch/opine on that HOVG episode and breaking the news on Pubta). And who knows, maybe that blockhead puppet and its string puller will do something interesting or that will keep this blog going. The year end list is sure gonna be different this year, that's for sure.

      Delete
    2. We might not see a Year End List this year. And remember back in 2014, how BatDan stated he didn't have the time or energy to look back into the past? It's pretty much his decision to decide if he should do a worst IG Moments of All Time list. He doesn't need to make several lists because that would be really time consuming and we'd really be looking at stuff that's already been covered years ago. Personally, I'd probably just do two more posts like a post dedicated to IG's former fans on how he screwed them over and then make a goodbye post thanking everyone for their years of support. Why keep going when there's basically no substance and Bores has become so irrelevant that it's pretty much beating a dead horse? And why not just ignore Puppet Steve? It's basically the same shit over and over again and kids will move on from it like they did on IG's channel. Just give them time to do so. This blog was made to show how horrible Bores is as a game reviewer not a sad man child toy collector. Bores doesn't talk about video games anymore and most people on this blog are gamers and could probably careless about the content on Puppet Steve. The best course of action is to just ignore the channel and not bother with it, like IG's dead Skylander channel. It's better to just ignore the channel and it's just the same thing over and over again. The Irate Gamer is dead at this point and spending seven years on this blog where just about everything wrong with Bores has been covered. What's left to talk about? It's time to end this blog and it will stay on as a reminder of how horrible the Irate Gamer was. RIP Irate Gamer: 2007-2016. And gary, I think we can all agree that IG is dead now. BatDan deserve a rest after all he's done for this blog and exposing Bores.

      Delete
    3. I have a feeling that if the blog ends, Bores will think: "Now there's nobody to make fun of me anymore! Back to Irate Gamer!" and he'll make a video out of nowhere or something. You know, just to mess with BatDan. Knowing Bores, he would do that. Sure, he doesn't care about video games anymore, but I bet he would just love to "get back" at the blog.

      Delete
    4. How would he exactly? He failed miserably by posing as his mommy and saying that BatDan was just like the killer at the Umpqua Community Collage. He's tried to get back at people and it failed miserably. It failed with his "E-begging! The Spoof!" video. And he's lazy and would probably just go play with his toys.

    5. I would be willing to do a worst moments list but I don't want to steal BatDan's thunder if he is going to do one.

Also, why not review the new movie toys? They have been out for quite a while as I've noticed them while shopping for new Transformers releases. The Imaginext toys he played with in the video have been out for over a year based on the reviews from Amazon.

My guess is that Chris didn't want to pay full price for the new movie toys whereas the ones he showed can be found in clearance bins.

    4. I know this is a stretch, but I wish Pubta would do some retro games. I'm not sure how he could do it and make sense (not that making sense has stopped some of Bores' other "creative" endeavors), but I think Pubta should have some sort of retro corner type segment (or 2 to 4 minute video I guess). Think,"hey kids Pubta Steve here!! You know those (insert old franchise that is still popular or came back and is successful with kids) you all love? Well, after doing some research, I've learned something that will flip some emoji poop!! The(franchise/toy thing) was something your mommy or daddy may have played with when they were your age!!!! This could lead to showing old video games based on licensed properties like TMNT, Ghostbusters, etc.

  41. OT what are your thoughts on the new Power Rangers movie?

I hear a lot of good reviews, but for all the wrong reasons in my opinion. A lot of people like it because it's some deep complicated story about troubled teens. That's fine on its own, but this is Power Rangers we're talking about. There are just some things you should not make into this deep dark complicated story. Sure it worked with Batman, maybe with Ninja Turtles. I would have liked to have a movie where the teens were these great role models who did martial arts at Ernie's Juice Bar and have the antics of Bulk and Skull, and then fight putties and the monster of the day. Maybe the movie makers wanted to make a Neon Genesis Evangelion movie but couldn't get the rights so they did Power Rangers instead.

    2. I enjoyed it, but its indecisive nature.really bugs the hell out of me. The mix of light hearted nature of the franchise doesnt mix well with the movie's dark and edgy nature, which creates a very messy experience for anyone wanting some aspects of the original updated while still remember that it is still just as fun as Mighty Morphin.

    5. This may seem odd, but it looks like the toy's parts were meant to be detachable and removable. If you look closely, I certainly don't see any damage to the toy. Also, that the toy itself would prove to be a choking hazard if it does have detachable small parts. Also, Bores would be reprimanded for this if he did destroy property and have to pay to have it replaced. I don't know, it just looks wired and I know Bores is a dumbass, but I don't think he'd try anything to ruin his current gravy train. Money does seem to be what he cares about most after all. Let me know if I'm right, he'd have to use more force to probably break a toy like that.

If Bores really did a video on the Legend of Zelda, he'd probably spend the first two minutes bitching about how the game is called "The Legend of Zelda", but the main character's name is Link. He'd say that it would be like calling Super Mario Bros. Super Princess Peach Bros. He'd probably also use the drunk Link bit again.

But I really hope no one does. I can't imagine what stupid jokes he would try to tell with Bojack Horseman. YOU'RE NOT WORTHY OF THAT SHOW, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

    4. True, he doesn't care about anything but money However, he would lose viewers if he started cussing, or says and uses any sexual or violent innuendo. He doesn't want to lose his gravy train and pretty much would have to avoid cussing, being violent, and putting any sexual references into his show where he posts the same thing. He doesn't want to ruin his channel by screwing himself up.

  50. I know it's been pretty quiet here on the blog, but I just thought I'd address the newest Puppet Steve video. "Puppa Steve" looks at "Bootleg" FNAF figures. So either Chris is looking at illegal toys, or he has no idea what "bootleg" means.

This seems to be the closest that Chris has come to doing an actual review on this channel since he actually points out flaws with the toys and how they look almost nothing like the FNAF characters. But it still fails, as he throws in out-of-nowhere positive comments at the end. "Even though they could've been made a little bit better, this is the best way to do that."...How? These figures are clearly very poorly made. He even says they're "cheaply made" in the video. I guess because "I can't be really negative or I won't make money." I don't know, I guess it's somewhat of a step up from the other videos since he actually attempts a review, but it's still terrible. And the jokes are horrible, like always.

Also, the only reason I even watched the video is because he put "bootleg" in the title. I was legitimately curious to see if Chris was reviewing something illegal.

    1. Does it even matter at this point? If you've seen one video, you've basically seen all of them and it's pretty much the same crap all the time. The video is still the same as just about every other video on his channel.

Also, if this is illegal, Chris would have to have common sense to not do anything illegal on his channel and definitely wants to keep his channel alive. He clearly doesn't want to have his channel shutdown. Also, it might just be another word salad title. As for him looking at South Park and Rick and Morty toys, who in their right mind would think that children should have toys from those franchises made for kids? It's like when CBS sold toys from CSI to kids that contained asbestos, or when there were kids toys made for Breaking Bad that showed off a meth toy.

Also, I will mention that is it even worth brining up Puppet Steve anymore? The videos are all basically the same and the content he shows is on stuff we clearly wouldn't care about. It's all just the same crap with word salad titles. Chris isn't doing video games anymore and he's just a shell of his former self now. It's basically beating a dead horse at this point and he's become so irrelevant now. There's really no point in brining up Puppet Steve anymore, Silent Spring. Bores will always be Bores, but at least he finished with video games now and not bashing beloved classics anymore or making asinine game videos and shit about ghosts.
