Chris Cameos in Another Movie, and It's Not Cut Out

Long-time readers may recall in early 2015 how Chris mentioned he would be in a movie. Eventually we learned that movie was called Gore Orphanage. However, he was cut out of it. Mostly, he showed up in a post-credits scene running from the camera. According to the studio, he was cut because the footage was poorly shot. Weirdly enough, he was still the first name in the movie's credits. Chris himself never mentioned the movie again.

But this isn't the end of Chris' illustrious movie career. A reader of the blog informed me that Chris shows up in a really low-budget indie film called Black Friday, released last year.

The entire movie is up on YouTube. Chris shows up at the end, around an hour and fifteen minutes.

EDIT: Nope, not anymore, that video you see is "unavailable". No clue why it was taken down.

Was this really made last year and not locked in a vault for over a decade?

The person that informed me about this contacted the director, Jayme Schmitt, and wondered how that happened. All Schmitt did was e-mail him and Chris agreed. Too bad Hollywood isn't that easy.

Guess Chris has another thing for that IMDB page. Anyone think that alleged Hardcore Pawn episode will ever surface? It should go in the Lost Media Wiki.

  1. Jayme Schmitt seems to have done a lot of roles in making that money, screenwriter, producer, second unit director, etc. I am not going to knock the movie. Hey, they made a movie with the resources they had available. Good on them.

Two weird things about the movie's IMDB page though. First, the score is very high. It is 8.1 which is unusual by IMDB standards. They are typically much harsher on movies. 50% of people who rated the movie gave it a 10/10 score. Review padding?

The other unusual thing is that Chris is not listed in the IMDB credits. I sat through the movie credits and he is not listed there either. Was this an oversight or did Chris request to be uncredited?

    1. He is listed in the movie credits under :\"alien soldiers"

    2. Thanks for your support! Yeah, we had a very low budget, and this was a passion project mostly for the fun of it. We got it done, it was fun, and a lot of work, and ended up making audiences laugh (...at the JOKES, which is a nice bonus! XD )
I'd say that though we didn't actively participate in "review padding," for the most part the only people writing the reviews are people who were involved with the film, or know someone who was.... because those are the only people who have seen it! XD
If you'd like to watch it and give it an honest review based on your unbiased opinion, the DVD is for sale on Amazon. ;)

  2. I wonder if he made the special effects for the movie... Just me speculating.

    1. Nope. He did his cameo, sent it to us, and that's the extent of his involvement with the creation of the film. We had other artists for the special effects.
      Thanks for your interest! :D

  3. Well, at least these filmmakers (as far as I know) aren't fetish pornographers like the ones he previously worked with.

The mostly-kid/teen audience of Irate Gamer would find him talking about his role in a movie, then they're one Google search from a trailer featuring simulated uncensored rape, and non-simulated uncensored footage of a woman being milked like a dairy cow.

But I guess if there's no Saturn symbols then Bores is fine with whatever.

    1. Nope, I'm definitely not a fetish pornographer. Nor was the producer or any of the main cast. I can't speak for what any extras do in their spare time, that's really none of my business. :P

  4. This film looks like a SyFy originals production, and the end once again gives me flashbacks to Monster A Go-Go, much like his infamous story arc. Been a while since I've seen Boring Man do something that doesn't involve Minecraft Puppets fiddling with plastic baubles and masturbatory ghost videos. Not counting the endless FNAF and Bendy crap, there was a Rampage trailer reaction. I highly doubt Chris has played the game, since I personally think the movie looks awful, even by the low standards of video game movies. Plus, it's opening the same time as Super Troopers 2; which looks intentionally funny as someone who loved the first.

    1. I know you meant that as an insult, but for the budget we had, to be compared to a SyFy Original is actually a compliment! lol
It's like seeing a horrible crayon drawing of a horse and saying, "Wow, it looks like a 5 year old drew that!" and then finding out it was drawn by a 2 year old. XD
      Thanks for watching! :D

  5. You know,if Chris could get some acting lessons, he could be the perfect bully character.

  6. "Of course, the video of that actually happening was lost when the BBC mixed the term "storage" with "Burn the **** out of that ****" and destroyed most of Dr. Who's earliest episodes!"

That mention of the Lost Media Wiki just reminded me of that quote! Glad I'm not the only one who goes there!

  7. Why did the director want Chris for such a minor part? Just wondering.

    1. The producer wanted to tap into his fan base to get a built-in audience. It's what you have to do when you are a broke, local, indie. Why such a minor part? Because it's a cameo. We didn't film this anywhere near him, so this was something he could film himself doing and send it to us. I am really not familiar with this guy at all, but my producer insisted having him in it would get us some attention. I guess it worked. :) Thanks for watching!
(Sorry this is so late, we only just came across this thread recently. :D )

  8. Looks like we missed this one- he started a channel a couple of years ago called "Alphabet Bunch," naturally using characters that aren't his:

    1. Wow, open since 2015 and we just found out about it.

    2. Wow, great catch. This channel was started in May of 2015 and he made a handful of videos ending in December of that year. Then he makes another one in May of 2016. The channel was then dormant until a couple of weeks ago when Chris made two more videos.

So this channel began shortly after the Irate Gamer finale, Duck Hunt.

    3. my mistake, Duck Hunt was a 2016 video. Got my years crossed.

    4. Wow, this is interesting.
I see he linked it over on the Puppet Steve channel. Is he trying to build brand synergy or something? It's not going to work.

Gonna make a post about this.

  9. I saw his cameo back when the video was still up. It had "Irate Gamer skit" written all over it.

  10. Correction, Jayme Schmitt was the PRODUCER (writer, actor, editor, etc.) for Black Friday, NOT the DIRECTOR. I'm the director. :P
The entire film was available on YouTube for a limited time as a special promotion, and was taken down at the end of the promotional period. It was never supposed to be up indefinitely. So that's why it was taken down. The DVD is currently for sale on Amazon if anyone is curious, wants to watch it for the fun of it, or you want to buy a copy so you can burn it. Whatever.
And, no, it wasn't locked in a vault for a decade. We actually wrote it in early 2016. Point of note, that was BEFORE Trump was considered a serious candidate for President (the film mentions "President Trump"), and also BEFORE the Cubs won the World Series (also mentioned in the film... who'd have guessed THAT would happen!?!?!)
But back to the point, we filmed it in the summer of 2016 (May through October, on & off), and then it went into post production from there. We had a local premiere last year (on Black Friday, 2017), and have had several small screenings since then. It's been fun.
Thanks for your interest, and thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed the film! (Except, of course, the cameo of that guy you hate. :P )
