Another Plagiarism Accusation. Only This Time Chris is the Accuser?!

So here's something interesting. Chris posted on Facebook again but it's something quite different.
Chris has accused Ghost Hunters host Grant Wilson of plagiarism! ... That is riiiiich coming from Chris Bores. Him being the one to accuse someone of stealing. So what exactly happened?

My informant linked me a screenshot of his post.

So he's mad because Grant is saying he wants to show the emotional side of a spirit, and what to do with a spirit after you find one, and Chris claims only he was doing stuff like this. ... Were you? These concepts sound vague enough that any jerk-off with a beepy ghost meter can say they're an expert. Sounds to me like you're fishing for attention again, especially with Halloween approaching.

Only one comment seemed to care about this. Being surprised that Grant would do something like this. Chris responded "me neither, but I don't know what to think after reading this." Really? Sounds to me like you're already accusing him of theft. That paragraph makes it pretty clear what you think.

The rest of the comments, of course, didn't care at all. Asking when the next IG is out. There is only a month left of Summer. At least you could check those comments, but my informant noticed that they're all gone. Chris, why would you delete those? What's weird is that similar comments on older posts are still there. Is Chris really that passionate about this possible purloining that he doesn't want to address IG? Or maybe ... Chris has gone back on his promise? There is no Irate Gamer comeback, and he wants to avoid bringing it up at all.
Maybe it has to do with Ghost Hunters coming back on TV after a 3 year hiatus, and Chris is stuck doing crappy puppet shows with copyrighted characters.

Ah yeah, recent Puppet Steve video had him do a crossover with Vincent Carter AKA Duddy from the channel "FGTeeV". Looking into it, it's the channel behind Skylander Boy & Girl (which probably explains how Chris got him on) and the main source of videos now that Skylanders is DEAD. They have nearly 12 Million subscribers, so if anything this is meant to be a boost for Chris. ... Right?
Apparently all the revenue Vincent makes can't afford a green screen since all he did was record audio and sent it to Chris, who basically "South Park'd" his appearance into the video. It looks terrible. If you're wondering what they talked about, it was FGTeeV related toys. I imagine all inside jokes related to them. You know, if you're able to license your brand out for merchandise on a large scale, and have a channel with nearly 12 million subscribers, I think you'd be able to fly to Ohio and appear in a video like this. Then again, Chris and his 584k subscribers were probably not worth your time. I wouldn't blame you.

Think we'll get a follow-up on this BIG GRANT WILSON SCANDAL or will Chris just forget about it after realizing this latest bait for attention failed.

Anyone excited for Astral Chain?

UPDATE! Chris posted about Ghost Hunters again, following the revival's premiere episode.

This seems very off-kilter even for Chris. Was he drunk when he wrote this? It feels like the ramblings of an angry moron.
Frankly I don't see what Ghost Hunters does differently from the shit you do Chris. It's all just a boring walk around a location in the dark, yelling for something to happen.

Also, "prayers please". Prayers for what? For a Buddhist he's really deep into Christian ideology. Can't shake that stink off from childhood huh?

    1. Much better than that awful last episode. See, this proves that James still cares.

    2. Agreed, definitely a step up, but I still think James should lay the Nerd to rest.

That said, it would be nice to get his take on DUDES WITH ATTITUDE.

    3. Better than the previous episode but if feels off to me. The game was not bad so the whole video feels more like a foul mouthed Gaming Historian to me than a truly angry nerd. I have an idea that since Screenwave is playing these games and writing the scripts James does not have as much a personal connection to the games like he used to. Not saying that is definitely the case, just a weird feeling I got. We will see as time goes on.

  2. Chris is a nobody. I highly doubt even someone like Grant Wilson would give a shit about him or even bother to deal with. Chris trying to start up a rivalry with Grant Wilson would be like the creators of Mr. Pickles trying to start up a rivalry with Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

  4. I’m somewhat excited for Astral Chain. However, I am saving my money is targeted towards FE three houses.

Meanwhile, wish Chris would actually get off his fatass/ stop reviewing toys for once, and actually fulfill his promise. I really want him to cover some games I like and screw up all the information. Like reviewing Persona 5 and getting everything wrong from the story and the mechanics. But that’s wishful thinking.

  7. Chris is just trying to use Ghost Hunters to get some attention for his dead book. Chris was certainly not the first person to depict a spirit falling in love nor was he the first to investigate the St. Augustine lighthouse. Chris does not own the rights to either of those concepts.

Besides... Chris claimed that the higher ups in the paranormal community suppressed Ghost Hunting 2.0.

=== Okay guys, ready for some late night podcast listening? Keep in mind this is our first episode so still feeling out the flow of things. Tried my best to keep it entertaining so feedback appreciated. We will do more if you guys like it, maybe one a month or so? I had alot of fun doing this. I'm not quite sure how to get this on itunes and spotify yet so bare with me. Still learning. Enjoy! ===

    3. Oh wow. Haven't listened yet; got some work to do first, but my initial thoughts are:

      1) Kudos to him; he actually went and did it instead of talking about it.

      2) This is going to be a bus crash. Something like two provably wrong assertions a minute. Damage might be minimized if he can work out a way to plagiarize news & opinions from other podcasts.

      3) Doesn't he know how competitive podcasting is in 2019? The amount of work involved to get a podcast up to a respectable listener base is frankly beyond his grasp. In addition to years of regular casting, You have to be correct when you say things.

    4. Done. The bulk of the episode was about Marvel, which I'm not at all deep into, so I can't parse it effectively. I could say a lot about the technical competence, the droll-enough chitchat devoid of insight or significant communication skills, but I think a comment made at the end of the episode overrides those things.

In discussing the upcoming Watchmen series, Bores bemoans that it’s going to concern battling white supremacy. He then says: “The main fanbase of Watchmen is probably going to be your normal, white male and to totally, for lack of a better term, piss all over that- it makes no sense.“

      Chris Bores, ladies and gentlemen.

  9. I tried but ended up skipping around. Mostly marvel movie talk. His Co host is one Tim Walker, the guy in his tmnt cereal vid. The shows name, geek time the next generation, is pilfered... Uh I mean a tribute to some podcast called geek time that borezzz was a fan of . Hey wasn't his book title ghost hunting 2.0 as reference to a book by that dude that is now "stealing" from Chris's
    book?

    2. It wasn't the worst thing but it was still fairly mundane and on the dull side. They spent a good chunk of time on the MCU despite Chris openly stating he was not familiar with much of it. Several instances of Chris claiming he is a huge fan of several franchises despite never mentioning them before. Not sure where he got the Geektime song - was that from the original show? Some pretty outdated references as to what makes someone a geek. Pocket protectors? I don't think I have seen a pocket protector outside of a professional setting (labs, hospitals, etc) in ages. And those were more of a nerd thing than geek. Yeah, there is a difference but maybe I am being overly pedantic.

What we did get is Chris more or less confirming Irate Gamer won't be back any time soon. He kind of stumbled on reasons, different environment on YouTube, they changed their algorithm but ultimately admitted he is not in the right head space to make more episodes.

10 years though...Seems like only yesterday that we saw Spoony winning the mashable, Chris shitting on the Odyssey and Retsupurae still riffing on LPs. You know Urinatingtree has more subs than all three of em now (He covers sports now)? Funny how things change...

  13. Chris on the updates to EPCOT:

"If you were around during the 80s, then I bet a visit to EPCOT CENTER at Walt Disney World in Florida was part of your childhood. Everything there was super cool. Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy, Test Track, even Imagination. And at D23 this year, they revealed a lot of super cool updates including the new logo! EPCOT is going retro and bringing back the spirit of the 80s with the reveal of the new logo...but wait a minute. Why just EPCOT? Whatever happened to CENTER? And in whose right mind was it to drop it from the title? Imagine if I decided to change the name of my show from IRATE GAMER to just IRATE. This makes no sense whatsoever and it seems Disney just half-assed this revitalization pissing off 80s fans everywhere.

Face it, theme parks are ruined!"

Anyone with sense knows that AVGN got stale long ago, he wasn't that great to begin with. Some mildly funny episodes but overall way overdoes it with the foul language etc, especially Mike. I stopped watching ages back.

At least Chris has some taste not to overdo it with the language.

  16. Chris will be "lecturing" at the library this weekend about "all things paranormal". He also says he will present a"dissertation" of his unique approach. As of the time he posted this on FB the lecture was confirmed at 50% capacity.

I don't see how he plans to cram "all things paranormal" and a "dissertation" into a single hour. He says he will talk fast to cover a lot of material. We can only hope he posts the lecture to Youtube.

  18. Finally had a chance to listen to the second episode of Chris' GeekTime podcast. A few brief thoughts.

Can't say anything about the Avengers and MCU segment. Don't give a damn about them. Haven't seen any Avengers films and have no plans to. If he got anything wrong there, I wouldn't know.

Star Trek segment- Chris claims to be a big fan but later says the Ba'ku were the bad guys in Insurrection. Not true. The bad guys were descended from the Ba'ku but go by a completely different designation and are radically altered by their exile from the planet. I’ll let his claim that Nemesis came out in 2006 go. That was a bad year for Star Trek though. No first run series and in the middle of a long gap between movies.

Stranger Things – haven’t seen this either but Chris gushes about the 80s again. Then says he was a huge fan of The Neverending Story. Yet another thing that Chris says he is a fan of despite having never mentioned it before.

Wrestling – What?! Since when is Pro Wrestling part of geek culture? I can honestly say I have never seen that connection before.

Star Wars Arcade – He calls the game’s yoke controller a joystick.

They talk about Spider-Man: Far From Home 2 and a half months after it was released. I know this is not totally fair since the podcast was not even in production then but there are current geeky things to talk about.

All in all this is not the worst thing Chris has ever done. It just doesn't have the cheesiness of Irate Gamer but it does have more effort than the typical Puppet Steve video. The podcast is simply boring but not bad enough to be funny.

  19. Decided to post here after a very long time (though I wasn't active in the first place) because I thought of something:

I've been thinking, if Chris had actually listened to criticism from the start, maybe he would've realized that making game reviews isn't his passion.

Looking at Chris's early stuff, his special effects are bad and over done but it was more ambitious then most people on Youtube, even over James's stuff.

If he instead decided to make his special effect better and improve his craft as a filmmaker and move on from game reviews, he could've among people like Rocket Jump or Corridor for making geeky short movies with big production values.

Instead he clings to his past and has become a relic that only people who was there in the early days of Youtube remembers

  22. He's done another Puppet-Steve-reviews-FGTEEV video, again featuring "Duddy." In the entire 13-minute video, Duddy appears once, in the first minute, observing that Steve has a lot of FGTEEV toys and never being seen again. Then, in the last minute, Zombie Steve is suddenly in the video.

  23. Beginning to see a pattern here.
He plagiarizes someone, and when they do anything he says they plagiarized him! Hilarious! When AVGN first made his angry video game reviews, Chris Bores copied him and then he begins to act like AVGN is copying him. Good lord. Just look up Haunted Investigators (CHris Bores wannabe Ghost Hunter show) and the opening is exactly similar to Ghost Hunters. He also got the idea of making a lame ghost hunting show from Ghost Hunters obviously. Is there no end to this guy's retardation? He's just so retarded I have to think he might have high level autism or aspergers. This is not normal.
