Bores has uploaded material since his Ninja Gaiden 3 review. The problem is that it's incredibly pointless and barely worth recapping. Instead I'll just summarize what he talked about in this post.
First was a rant video on the Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Late to the party as usual. The video was Bores saying the same stuff almost everyone else has been saying about it, there was little substance here. Part of it felt like a plug for his own videos on TMNT.
Though there is one noteworthy contradiction. While talking about Bayformers, he says he didn't like the first two movies and had no plans to see the third. That's funny, in his Top 10 Summer Movies of 2011, he put it on the list saying "But it's Transformers, I guess I gotta see it". If you had no plans, why did you put it on the list? Did you not have a 10th movie to put there?
The second wasn't a video, but rather an article he made for GotGame. http://gotgame.com/2012/04/05/e3-2012-tradeshow-floor-map-revealed/
Not the real E3 2012 floor map, but a mock-up of what HE thinks will be the floor map. What's the point? Who is this going to benefit? Nobody visits GotGame, and I don't see what a fake map will accomplish. And to GotGame, shame on you. This is your idea of journalism? Even ScrewAttack has more credibility than you!
Also, some of Bores speculative ideas are just awful. Putting the big three all in one room? Crowd control you fool!
This is like a kid that has a map of Disneyland and he's marking all the rides he wants to go on, only this is for a Disneyland that hasn't been built yet and it's made up of only his favorite rides. This is beyond stupid!
The latest was a "preview" of Skylanders Giants. This would have been a tolerable video... had the info he provided been recent. But no, a lot of this info is at least two months old. Plus, half the video was him bragging that he got the newest Skylanders.Who cares?
In the beginning, he mentions he had to wait in line to get them... and illustrates this with a pointless effect of him and a bunch of clones (all in the same shirt) standing in line. Do you really think your fans are that dumb that they don't know what a line is? Was that an attempt a joke? If it was, that's just sad.
It's almost like he's posting pointless, harmless crap on purpose. That way I don't recap it and point out how wrong he is all the time.
Any clues what's next? My informants tell me he said his next regular IG episode (as in the retro review part) is coming "soon". Given his poor sense of timing, soon can mean anything. Keep in mind, his last retro review was in October. I've said it before and I'll say it again, for someone boasting an "epic storyline", this pacing is absolute crap!
IGs days are numbered, Bores should just let his experiment die peacefully.
ReplyDeleteI really do have no comment. All of this was completely pointless and stupid.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that his fans just eat this shit up makes me lose all hope in humanity. Don't any of them have a spine? Do they ever stand up and demand actual content? Then again, considering Chris' track record of censoring criticism I wouldn't know.
It might be a bit early to say but it looks like Bores' subscriber numbers may be dropping again. Can't say I'm surprised.
ReplyDeleteActivision sure is making a lot of money off of this Skylanders business. I wonder how Skylanders Giants will turn out. Will it be different from the first? All I saw from IG's preview video was that the figures are giant (that's obvious) and they are new. What else does this upcoming game have to offer?
ReplyDeleteAlso, is Chris really going to attend E3 again (as he hinted at during his Skylanders Giants video)? If so, I would love to see what he has to say about the Wii U and why he thinks it doesn't look good. Not to mention finding out if he manages to attend Ubisoft's conference this time around.
wait a sec...I messaged him asking him not to go to E3 because they were supporting SOPA and he said "okay." Granted, E3 isn't supporting SOPA anymore since it's dead, but still, what the hell?
DeleteHey guys, think about when Bores review Pokemon Black 2/White 2 when they came in the US?
ReplyDeleteThe games didn't come out in the US yet, nor has Bores reviewed them.
DeleteHey Batdan, In the Robocop review, you ignore to mention the part that the citizens were all played by Bores?
ReplyDeleteI was going to look at that Chris and Scottie episode, and then I saw this:
ReplyDelete"ROADTRIP: ..."

What the hell...?
The person that originally uploaded that was one of the many taken down by a sad troll that flagged multiple anti-IG videos.
DeleteIt's been reuploaded here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVsrGHF5ef4 Warning! Really REALLY Bad.
If that the case can't we flag his video of the opening theme he is using without giving credit?

ReplyDeleteAsalieri being a smug little shit and thinking he's right as always.
Why i am not surprised, right now some friends of mine are discussing this on facebook, and i would like the need for some help in order to locate those posts Linkara, Batdan and Asa made during the whole 2011 Fiasco.
DeleteWhy would he bring it up again, is he bored or something?
DeleteI just watched it, I don't even know how he can think he has a legitimate argument. AVGN provided an estimate and the donators chose to go over the estimate. The total was on the Indiegogo page, updated in real time, and AVGN never said anything about what he'd do with any excess donations he received apart from a throwaway line later on about "I can make it really good now". As far as I'm concerned, if you knew the amount raised was already what he'd asked for and you still chose to donate, you haven't got cause for complaint. If you didn't know he'd gone over, then you're an idiot for not seeing the massive counter on the page with a clearly designated cut-off mark. AVGN hasn't scammed anybody - he's merely profited from his own popularity.
DeleteHow dare his fund raising go above his minimum goal. Burn the heretic!
DeleteAnyways, I dunno why that's supposed to be a scam. Maybe if James takes all the money and completely disappears from the face of the Earth, but I think that's slightly unlikely...
If James is pulling a con he's certainly spending a hell of a lot of time to make it look real AFTER the money has been donated.
DeleteWhy don't any of these people realise that taking money under false pretenses is a crime that somebody who is pretty well known on the internet wouldn't be able to get away with?
Basically you either think James is going to use the money to go towards making and promoting a movie, something that has been well documented as a dream that he has had all his life. Or you think He is willing to flee to a non-extradition country, giving up his home and way of life, and try to live the rest of his existence on $325,927
BatDan, i Need your help, i eed you if you can talk to me either via YT or via E-Mail, so that you can gave some some stuff i need to back up
ReplyDeleteIt's regarding Asalieri's BS during 2011 mostly.
my YT account is kikigatuc on YT.
I tried searching your YouTube name, I got a 404.

Daniel (or anybody else here) does Chris Bores live in an apartment or house? I checked the address in Google Earth, and it looked to me more like a mobile house.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can tell, the "character" of the Irate Gamer lives in an apartment but Chris himself lives in a house. The former doesn't make sense when he keeps showing exterior shots of what's clearly a house.
DeleteIn Haunted Investigators, their HQ is the exact same exterior shot. So it's just his house.
A one-room apartment, from the looks of it. And the room's small as shit, too. I guess that'd be the most living space his character could afford on YouTube ad revenue.
DeleteIt's a house because he has a garage; in one of his "making of" videos he showed him setting up his Indiana Jones scene in it.
DeleteWell, at least there isn't much he can screw up with these weird little updates of his...
ReplyDelete“What’s he going to do with all that leftover money?”
ReplyDeleteWell, he can’t just give donated money back to people since that would be a very awkward process. Even if he did, wouldn’t the other fans who donated feel cheated if they didn’t get their money back when others did?
I love it when haters claim he will greedily use it for his own purposes without any definite proof. For all we know, he could be planning to do something special with the extra money.
Promoting the movie will cost a lot if James wants to try and get it picked up. Im pretty sure any extra cash will go towards that.
DeleteI commented on this in the previous update. But, one thing that should be mentioned again is that Bores claimed that THQ would not be at E3 because of their financial situation. Visiting the E3 site they have THQ listed as one of the vendors that will be exhibited at the convention.
ReplyDeleteDo some research next ti- Oh, wait, forgot who we were talking about...
I like how people make these harsh accusations about a guy they don’t even know and accuse US of being biased when we think otherwise.
ReplyDeleteHey Batdan, have you see this very funny statement by the TheAwesomeArchfiend? Here's the link.:) http://www.theawesomearchfiend.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=50304076
ReplyDeleteJust to remind everyone; independent films such as "The Blair Witch Project" only had a budget of $20,000 to $25,000. So if you really think James isn't going to use any of the donated money for himself, you're talking out your ass!
ReplyDeleteAlso message to BatdanNight; Stop being like IG and removing comments that disagree with you.
You are aware that the Blair witch project is a very very very rare example, (an exception that proves the rule let's say) of a low budget freelance movie becoming not only a cult classic but also a known classic of it's genre. So to use it as a main point in an argument actually hurts you.
DeleteFirst look where these movies are taking place:
-Blair witch project: Fairly large portions are public areas so little cost went into the setting, a handheld camera was the majority if not all of what the shots were composed of, and the idea was basically a horror mentality. This allowed very little money used for editing or effects. Most of the money went into advertising and then it was picked up by larger entities to make money off of.
So no Blair witch didn't cost just 20,000 to make, the actual makers only spent 20,000 then the rest of the work got done for them later on.
-AVGN movie: It has multiple areas that are expensive to use, they have much more extensive filming and effects portions. Not only that but you have to take into consideration that this HAS a following already, and an already set idea that isn't made for the viewer to do most of the work but instead the film maker.
Basically, a movie that got lucky and is cheaply made because the viewer does most of the work in their mind and sub-conscious cannot be compared to a movie with a concrete idea.
Cloverfield is close to the concept of Blair Witch but that cost about 25-30 million. Whats your point Ozzy?
DeleteUnless James decides to film his movie in shot-on-shitteo with the actors doubling as cameramen, I don't think 25,000 are enough.
DeleteThere's also the problem that the movie you're talking about was made over 13 years ago, so 25,000 are less worth now than they were then.
And were do you get those numbers from, anyways? Other sources say the budget was up to 750,000!
Because Blair Witch didn't cost much to make, that proves James Rolfe is going to abuse the donations that exceeded his request? Wha...???
DeleteAVGD, stop being like IG and making arguments that have no basis in reality.
“Just to remind everyone; independent films such as "The Blair Witch Project" only had a budget of $20,000 to $25,000.”
ReplyDeleteOh, so what? Are you implying everyone must follow suit?
On Bores' Aflac audition bullshit video, I saw a comment saying "I laugh at all the "fans" saying all his videos suck ass yet not one of them has made anything better. AVGN and IG are like Greek and Roman god names (i.e Zeus/Jupiter). Both represent the same meaning, yet are portrayed and followed differently.
ReplyDeleteI seriously challenge ANYONE to make something better than IG's videos. Let's not talk about AVGN because its irrelevant and none of you have the cash to do his style of work & effects. Well? We're waiting?"
So, I told him, "I laugh at how you assume that just because someone can't come up with a better idea (which Bores couldn't) means that they can't tell what's good and what's not good. It's like playing an instrument. You don't have to know the in's and out's of a trumpet to be able to tell if someone can't play one."
His argument is completely pointless. Just because we acknowledge that Bores' videos suck doesn't mean we have to have better ideas to be able to say so.
Yeah, that's the dumbest argument ever. When I hear somebody say that when I'm giving an unfavorable opinion of a book or movie and somebody says that, I just have to laugh. Because obviously movies and books are only meant to be seen by filmmakers and authors.
DeleteNo, of course they're not. They're meant to be seen by people who've never made a movie or written a story and probably never will. And anyone who thinks I have to do better to say why I didn't like it is a moron.
Hey Batdanknight. I just stumbled across this blog. I got to say I was pretty surprised to see Chris Bores on youtube and apparently he is now internet famous? When did all this happen?
ReplyDeleteFor a few years now. Do you know Chris Bores in real life or something?
DeleteWell yeah. I mean I haven't seen him since 05 or 06.
DeleteHaha, that's interesting. Yes, he's spent the last five years as "The Irate Gamer"
DeleteAround 2007, Chris decided to cash in on the popular trend of "anger-filled retro reviews" by making his own character. Unfortunately, a lot of his early videos contain lines stolen from other reviewers and he outright denied this. Nowadays he's claiming "satire" but this was how he got known.
For the last couple years, he's been trying his own thing, but it's much worse than when he was copying others.
The videos have a multitude of problems outside the above-mentioned theft. They reek of sheer incompetence. Like getting basic facts wrong or outright cheating at the game and denying it.
Sorry you had to hear it like this.
Don't apologize to me, we were never friends, he and my brother were real close but I didn't like him. He always came across as a jerk to me. Looks like history repeats itself. But why the blog. is it (his videos) really that bad?
DeleteWere you at least aware of his Ghost Hunting videos or the earlier films he did like "Back to the Past"?
Delete@STELLA77
DeleteThat's part of it. His videos only get worse, and after five years he still hasn't learned from his mistakes.
Another part is to inform people of his mistakes. People that aren't as well-versed in gaming and wouldn't know that what he's saying is false.
@ChibodeeCrocket
DeleteYes but I never thought those would ever amount to anything. I remember he asked me what he thought of a sketch I did and got mad when I critiqued it to death.
@BatDanNight
? He used to suck at video games. The rare times he did play them that is. He could never even say the characters names right. I was no gamer back then either but I at least knew the character names.
STELLA77: "He used to suck at video games. The rare times he did play them that is. He could never even say the characters names right. I was no gamer back then either but I at least knew the character names."
DeleteYou know, aside from lack of effort, it seemed that a big problem with Chris is that the money he got was his only motivator.
I mean others like James, Doug (Nostalgia Critic), Lewis (Linkara) and Derek (HVGN) are the kind of people who make money doing something they enjoy.
So from your statement, it seems like confirmation that he doesn't get enjoyment (even mild enjoyment) from games I take it?
He was a TV junky, NOT a gamer by any stretch. My brother was a real hardcore gamer. One thing that annoyed him was when Chris talked like he knew everything about something when he knew little to nothing about it. He never wanted to play video games.
DeleteWoah man. Irate Gamer has just been exposed.
DeleteAnd @Antiyonder
DeleteI don't know who linkara and hvgn and those people are.
They're also video reviewers, but they're better at it than Chris. They know what they're talking about and are more entertaining to watch.
Delete@STELLA77
DeleteI take it you also saw Chris's first "Road Trip" videos too. Just wondering if Chris really does stereotype people like that in real life?
The video I watched was pretty bad.
Delete@vicviper592
DeleteYeah sadly. That was his 'sketch' I critiqued. Is pretty ignorant about cultures and ethnic groups, but I think he was purposefully overdoing it cause he thought that kind of humor was funny?
The most annoying part of that side of him was how little he knew about Japanese culture. (I'm part Japanese and an anime geek.)
You should see his recent review on the MUSCLE franchise where he claimed he was taking us to Japan, and instead used footage from China.
Delete-_- ....... Yeah that kinda stuff. So I checked out his website. The biography is less than honest.
Deletehttp://www.irateentertainment.com/bio.htm
" Chris went on to attend Ashland University to major in 'Film and Broadcasting' and learn the ropes of the business. He did this by working at Television and Radio Stations, and performed many job's that included both producing and filming News Programs, Documentaries, Commercials, Sporting Events, and more."
What the heck Chris? you did not! He did not go into film and broadcasting and he most certainly didn't have jobs filming anything! He was trying to publish a book back then.
"In 2004, Chris left college" FYI by leave he means drop out. I feel kinda bad for him. Why lie so blatantly like that?
@ STELLA77
Delete...months ago I met a soldier from Ft. Carson, CO, who also knew Bores. He said he was friends with Bores for a short time in middle school and went to high school with him as well, but didn't know of his internet fame until recently.
He had some interesting stories about Bores that I've decided not to repeat here. Still, if you knew him in high school or shortly after I was wondering if you could confirm some things for me?
email me, please.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteMind if I ask you a question too Stella? I'm just curious to see what you think of his attempt at writing long ago?
DeleteI'm looking at the bio page, (sorry if I look too...nosy btw, I'm just naturally curious) when he claimed to be in many articles what does he really mean by that? Also I would safely assume his HoVG and Irate the 80's series are not popular with the fans?
I like reading all these interesting stories.
@AikoujOi
DeleteI don't think she knows that. As she said, she knew him BEFORE all the Irate Gamer stuff.
I personally find this stuff very interesting. (About Chris and his past life and all. Goes to show how much of a liar he is.)
DeleteDan is right. I don;t know what HoVG stands for or any of that. I can tell you about his writing. It was... Bland, generic, and just not compelling at all. Also it was full of errors plot holes and such. He got into the writing kick after my brother showed him some of his writing for his book. So he pretty much got the idea from my brother. He also tried to copy some things in his story line but my brother got pretty pissed so he changed it. I heard he was in some news paper article, But I don't know any details on that, and honestly I think those claims hold about as much weight as his claims to have gone to film school.
DeleteYou know considering Chris Bores has A LOT of down time, maybe these stories can be featured in a new article on this blog.
Delete@STELLA77
DeleteHoVG stands for "History of Video Games", or basically, "Made Up BS About the History of Video Games".
BTW, ever met Chris's mother? Seeing how she post childish replies on Chris's videos, I'm wondering if she's like that in real life.
So, even before he became the Irate Gamer, he still plagiarized ideas.
Delete@UltimateCharm
DeleteYes pretty much.
@vicviper592
I never met her personally, no. But my brother described her as quite "bitchy"
Thanks for this blog BatdanNight. Especially sitting through and point all his flaws. You deserve a gold medal for this.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad he started somewhere at 2007.
Now it is 2012 and that mommy boy is still around.
As per usual, Bores goes onto camera and pretends that he knows what he's talking about. I wish he'd just focus on his retro reviews. We need more Third Rate Gamer parodies.
ReplyDeleteNow that it's out, I have to ask... what did you guys think of The Three Stooges? I want to hear an honest opinion before even going near it.
ReplyDelete@ AVGD aka Ozzymoron
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how much you have fallen Ozzy. From a people who gives constructive 'criticism' on BatDanNight into a sad troll who now uses cussing in his vocabulary.
@ DynamiteNinja
ReplyDeleteI think Asa is bloody retarded. He's just pissing AVGN fans because he still couldn't find a real job out there. He has spiraled himself into a sad human being. And that makes him the bigger loser.
Anyways guys, sorry for the double post but the reply button isn't working on my computer.
Yeah, speaking of...
ReplyDeleteI was in a Hellsing920 live show last night, and they talked about the IMdB page, and how they find the budget suspicious(James recieved more money than he "needed" for the film). Well, at the time, I headed to the Cinemassacre, and James himself posted that the IMdB page is a fake. Now, last night was a total blur, so I'm not sure whether Hellsing and friends learned about this comment or not, but I did make a post on the chat (under the name "Angry") that James did make that post on his Cinemassacre site and I even posted the link.
Though I should make a suggestion to James: James Rolfe, you may want to be careful when it comes to making a title for that type of post. I mean, "Don't Trust The Internet"?! Won't the people criticizing you and the amount of money YOUR FANS HAVE GIVEN YOU find more reason to troll you to oblivion?
Also, I honestly think the extra money leftover from the fund may go to the promotional stuff he'll give to the people who have donated a a certain amount of money.
Lastly, my opinion of the whole thing with the Nerd and his Movie: I respect Asa and BatDan, and my scorn for the Irate Lamer is still going strong, and although I wish to defend the Nerd, won't that make me look like an idiot? After all, I don't even know how movie budgest work, what with all the taxes and the promotion and merchandising. And last I check, isn't he showing it to free if it's not hitting theaters? In other words, I don't know what to think, but I am tilting towards James favor because I hear his wife makes very good cupcakes.
If James's morals are so low that he'd hoard all his excess donations, why aren't they low enough that he'd simply lie about the donations he received, or the budget for the movie?
DeleteInstead, he's allegedly made it publicly clear that there's an excess of funds and left if up to the imagination of every troll in the world as to what will be done with it.
Most people seem to think that he's going to swim around in it Scrooge McDuck-style.
BatDan, I am curious. I remember reading some of your older blogs and I recall you mentioning Screwattack in a postive way. Did something change about the site? I would not know since I kinda forgot about Screwattack.
ReplyDeleteI learned of the site's crooked business practices, and the videos kept getting worse. Craig became more and more of a dudebro as time passed, and it really started to grate.
DeleteThese days the only thing I care for on ScrewAttack is Death Battle. Keith Apicary, AVGN and brentalfloss have their own sites/pages so I can just go to those.
I see. My reason for kinda forgeting about Screwattack was they seemed to have lost people like Destin and Jose who were two of my favorites. Personally, my favorite gaming site right now is RetrowareTV as opposed to say Blistered Thumbs or anyone from Channel Awesome for that matter.
DeleteI should mention that the Irate Gamer's 5th Anniversary is coming soon (April 28, 2007) I hope we don't get many anniversary "gifts" from him...
ReplyDeleteMy Dad's birthday is on the 28th.... that's horrifying.
DeleteI thought we 'celebrated' Bores Day on April 31st...
DeleteIf you want a good video on the Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles thing, check out Doug Walker's "Why The Ninja Turtles Should Be Aliens." My thought is that Bay was referring to the Utrom ooze that was formed under TCRI (TGRI in the second movie). Either that or he's screwing with us again. His Transformers movies' marketing was built on misinformation. Still, I am wary since Johnathan Liebesman is quickly becoming a hated director for Battle Los Angeles and Wrath of the Titans.
ReplyDeleteI still don't think UbiSoft will let GotGame into E3 this year because of the whole "blowing up their office video."
As for Skylanders: I respect it for revitalizing Spyro in sales, but I'm not convinced. I could get Spyro: Ripto's Rage off Playstation Network Store for $6. I don't want to pay $60 for the game, the Portal and three figures, then $6 for every figure after that. I'm not going for a sequel. And most places I shopped can't get rid of the sets and the figures. Maybe the game is more popular in other parts of the country than the northwest, I don't know. Nobody I know in Oregon has it. They seem to be more into Skyrim, Amalur, and Mass Effect 3 for console RPGs. So, I don't know how Skylanders: Giants will fare in Oregon since the Wal-Mart and Target in my area have more figures and copies of the game than they know what to do with. If it's selling out in other part of the country, more power to it. Me, I will be perfectly fine with getting a copy of Spyro: Ripto's Rage for my PSP.
@Shaolin Dave
ReplyDeleteFunny that you say that...
http://cinemassacre.com/2012/04/15/dont-trust-the-internet/
A couple of comments from fans seem to indicate the POSSIBILITY of trolls trying to smear Rolfe's name (be it innocent or guilty, as I am still trying to be neutral/slightly-kinda-sorta-pro-AVGN here) via the IMdB page or something. I guess they may be determined Archqueef fans or impatient, ravenous AVGN fanboys, as even James is not safe from havin' a few loose screws in his fanbase.
Also, I can't reply properly for some reason. I'm using Internet Exploerer for crying out loud!
But yeah, it's hard to tell where the extra money's going. Probably to the extra swag that is to be rewarded to each person who donated above 10 to 200 dollars.
As for the AVGN dolls, that depends on how much it costs to make these and whose even making them. Movie money could have helped this, but it may have come from DVD sales... I think...
Wow, I really need to stop defending James like this, even though I like him.
Hey Batdan, you already know that Chris Bores has a horrible taste in movies, since he thinks X-men origins is awesome, despite it being a trainwreck, like it was directed by Brian Robbins, right?
ReplyDelete@STELLA77
ReplyDeleteI always had a feeling that he was lying, or at the very least overexaggerating but geez. I'm curious; when you said he got mad when you critiqued his sketch how mad was he? Was he defensive or was he just angry in general?
982 less then 20 places left before Bores is down to 1000
ReplyDeleteHey BatDouche! You know what's really pointless? This fucking blog, how long do wanna milk this shit?
Delete@lil' timmy
ReplyDeleteHey timic! You know what's really pointless? YOUR FACE!
Naw, I'm just messin' with ya. But seriously, this blog archives the opinion of one Batdan and his critiques on Irate Lamer's entire career as a game reviwer. Even though the Irate Lamer is not doing much these days, as long as he does ANYTHING, this blog might get updated. Plus, it's entertaining to read!
And don't you use "cinemassacre" in your name, either! It's bad enough with what James is going through. He must be feeling bad about all that excess cash he ended up with, and even worse with that IMdB page and the supposed "budget" on that site. He doesn't need snot nosed brats like you smearing the name of his website! Hell, he could even handle himself if he knows how. :)
Am I defending James too much?
yes, but so what, I don't see anything wrong with defending something you like.
DeleteHi Stella77, I got a question. Do you know who Scott Michell is? And is it true that Scott has broken ties with Chris?
ReplyDeleteYes, Scott Mitchell has broken ties with Chris as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteBatDan, I recommend doing post with everything STELLA77 has told us. Something along the lines of an interview, perhaps over MSM or Twitter (or whatever these darn kids are into these days) and posting it here. If she wouldn't mind, of course. It'd probably be better than bombarding her with questions on the comments.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteSeems a bit petty. Its one thing to criticise what Bores puts out but its another to rake up stuff from his personal life. Also, no offence meant to STELLA77, but Dan would have to get some official confirmation of her identity to put up an article with any real credibility and that just seems like a long way to go to prove something Bores himself confirms with every inaccurate, short, overdue video he puts out.
DeleteYeah, on one hand I would love to see an interview about who Bores is in real life. But on the other I fear that it won't end well. Namely the Internet Detectives piecing information together and getting Bores' address or something.
DeleteI'm all in for a STELLA77 interview as long as ground rules get set and Dan vets any information prior to publication. I guess I'm just morbidly curious about Bores because he just sounds so fucking unpleasant and obnoxious.
I'm with Destroyah, I think such an article would actually be entertaining and interesting to read, providing ground rules and limitations are set.
DeleteI'd like to see this too. Something like this would break up the monotony of Bores' useless stuff like the lakitu sketch.
DeleteI also would like to read an interview, that would be cool.
ReplyDeleteI would be ok with that. But I won't give any details on Chris, or I, that someone could use to locate us. I don't want any harassment and Chris may be arrogant, but he's still human.
ReplyDeleteUpdate from my Facebook informant:
ReplyDeleteBores just said that he's "still finalizing the script" for the next regular IG episode. Sooo... don't expect for a good 2 months or so.
Strange, about a week ago he said it would be out "soon". Then again, Chris has a very skewed idea of time.
To Chris, soon usually means a few months.
DeleteI think it's a bit late in the day to worry about doxing Chris' home address, it's been up on ED for the past two years.
ReplyDeleteHe's even open about it as he writes it on the back of every DVD he sends out.
He's dumber then I thought
DeleteHe's lucky that his haters are so civil, unlike his fans.
DeleteHis fans scare me. Those people need pills.
DeleteIndeed, practically EVERY other eCeleb has a PO box to send/return items to, for a few bucks a year, they're an incredible asset to avoiding harassment and general safety.
DeleteBatDan, you mentioned ScrewAttack having crooked business pratices.
ReplyDeleteWhat are said practices?
Mostly their treatment of Handsome Tom and Guru Larry.
DeleteCraig registered the ScrewAttack copyright behind Tom's back, effectively pushing Tom out of the company that he helped create.
Larry was asked to join Machinima, and SA made a big stink about it since his account was still "ScrewAttackEurope". They also made a video where they "explained" why they did what they did, but the other SA members acted really rude. Making jokes and giggling like idiots.
I heard they also got mad at TGWTG when James Rolfe made videos with them, and apparently he wasn't allowed to use the name "Angry Video Game Nerd", so he found a loophole and just called himself "The Nerd".
Basically, Craig is an asshole.
Now can we talk its been nearly a month id like to update DatDan on skype again please - Tk
DeleteHow does the Screw Attack thing even hold up as a copyright? Its obvious enough that they took the name from Metroid without using the lightning bolt logo looking virtually identical to the power-up.
Delete@Clark:
DeleteIt's ScrewAttack, not Screw Attack. Sometimes, a single whitespace makes all the difference - at least when it comes to copyrights.
Craigs still a dick for bitching about Guru-Larry having the name on his Youtube account when its hardly an original idea, but then again Craig stabs friends in the back so I shouldn't be surprised.
DeleteAll im gonna say about ScrewAttack Top 10`s Make All the Revenue other Then That There Is - DEATH BATTLE! and AVGN but AVGN is on GameTrailers and Craig why Backstab "Handsome Tom" never Have I Said About ScrewAttack This But Craig End Top 10`s For GOOD as In Forever! and bring back Guru Larry - Tk
DeletePeople are getting at AVGN for the Mailbag subscription and the highcot of the beanie things, but I honestly think doing these things is the only way Craig would let James out of any agreement he had for making AVGN posts on their site
Deletehigh cost "highcot" that was a bizarre typo
DeleteThis ScrewAttack Contract Needs To End He Can Only Do What ScrewAttack Wants Nothing Else as BatDan Does *sighs* - Tk
DeleteIt's a shame that AVGN signed with ScrewAttack because he most certainly would have attained as much fame as he did without the association. As I recall, ScrewAttack was pretty much a mediocre gaming site that lucked into recognizing and signing Rolfe before anyone else. At least Rolfe didn't get involved in the SA drama and made quite a decent living for himself.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't help that you can easily watch AVGN episodes on his own site or Youtube. You never even have to come anywhere close ScrewAttack.
DeleteThe funniest thing is when ScrewAttack started in 2006, they were trying to leech off the popularity of GameLife (remember them?) but they told SA to fuck off, it was just total luck James was with them when he got popular, he was never meant to be their flagship!
DeleteHow typical of all of you. Blame it on someone else, it's never James' fault is it? James can do no wrong.
ReplyDeleteand what exactly is James being denied fault of?
DeleteExplain and maybe it would be easier for someone to tell you why you're wrong/right.
Yeah, maybe try a user name NOT associated with the biggest group of douchebags on the internet. Then maybe I might listen to what you have to say.
DeleteI don't think anybody claims that James never made any mistake before (everyone does), but the criticism surrounding his movie is unqualified, ridiculous and over the top - your typical internet flame war.
DeleteNew Irategamer Short Vid Is Up - Tk
ReplyDeleteWow. He managed to combine the Irate Gamer and Haunted Investigations. That's like combining The Phantom Menace with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
DeleteOh my god, this info from STELLA77 is fucking gold! I love this blog.
ReplyDeleteFinally, we have it confirmed, what we have all suspected from the beginning..That Chris is a complete and utter charlatan. He was that douchey kid we all knew from school that pretended he was awesome and knew everything, when he knows fuck all about anything he opens his mouth about.
I want to urge Dan to PLEOh my god, this info from STELLA77 is fucking gold! I love this blog.

I want to urge Dan to PLEAASE do an article about this info! In fact, since Stella already agreed, could you please do an interview with her? This stuff is to important to bury in the comments. This is the epitome of the info your readers come here to see.
And I totally disagree with the previous post that such an article would be lowbrow or inappropriate. This whole blog is about dissecting Chris' work and theorizing how he is a total fake who knows nothing about gaming. Now we have hard evidence! This is to golden of an opportunity to pass up. And Dan covered the radio interview where Chrisgot exposed as a hack, this isn't all that different.
In fact, Dan, I think you almost have an obligation as the owner of this blog which is dedicated to exposing Chris lies and as a crusader for truth against the Irate Lamer and his retarded fanbase to pursue this, and do an interview with this lovely lady and present it to your readers.
Also, I'm dying to hear your stories, Shaolin Dave. I'm sure you have your reasons to not share them here, but could you please email me? It could stay between us if you wish, of course. Also STELLA, I'd love if you'd email me too, so I could ask you some questions as well.
So whats it going to be, Dan? Any possibility we'll see this info and an interview with STELLA as an official BatDan post? Please, don't let us down... this is a story that NEEDS to be told.
Thanks for having such an awesome blog. You've never pulled any punches on Chris before, I hope you won't start now. This fake is profitting off lies.. he needs to be exposed for the charlatan he truly is!
Also, sorry about the beginning of this post being mangled and repeating a paragraph, I'm writing this on an Android tablet touchscreen, and its a real pain in the ass to go back to edit it, hopefully the message is clear.
And as for Shaolin Dave and our guest Stella, my email is juicyxanderthegreat@hotmail.com.
