On April 23rd 2007, "filmmaker" Chris Bores created the "Irategamer" account on YouTube. Five days later on April 28th, he uploaded his first video. I consider the first video more of an anniversary than the day he joined, and today his "show" turns five years old.
Yes, five years ago today we were graced with a video of IG at a greenscreen movie theater watching Back to the Future, making obvious statements about the NES game, stealing from someone better than him, playing on a broken ROM despite having a copy of the game, using his first stock explosion effects on the enemies, comparing the Soda Shop stage to completely unrelated games, all culminating in him going back in time, murdering the CEO of LJN, somehow erasing himself from time, and playing Adventures in the Magic Kingdom.
Surely he would have improved after this right? .........
And now, a recap of each year.
2007: This was his busiest year for his regular show, providing 13 retro reviews with a short in a hotel and a censored version of one episode. He had his only television review talking about the Sopranos finale, doing the "smash cut to black ending" joke. He also provided the "prototype" of Irate Gamer Neo, talking about The Simpsons Game. As well as the Breakfast Rants, childish rants about cosmetic changes to cereal ending with him claiming the entirety of the meal is "ruined".
2008: This year he tried spreading out to different mediums. He gave us ten retro reviews with a noticeable change in style (Less AVGN and more Family Guy). He expanded on IG Neo, making it a regular thing as a partner with GottGame. The end of the year gave us Top 5 lists of his "favorite" NES and Nintendo DS games, with some very questionable points. He also attempted a TMZ of gaming, talking about a Scrabble game on DS that had curse words in it. Too bad the only source I could find this story was the DailyMail, a British rag comparable to a tabloid*.
*Correction: The Daily Mail IS a tabloid. That only makes this worse...
He also did movie reviews, starting with a list of 10 summer movies he wants to see, followed by extremely short and generic reviews that ranged from 47 seconds to three minutes. He even tried a comic book review with promises there would be more (nope). There was also some bizarre video about the language of Rice Krispies that I swear he stole from George Carlin.
2009: This is where things really started to slow down. A total of TWO retro reviews this year with the number of Neo and movie reviews far outnumbering it. The latter also showcased his very questionable taste in movies. He also started the poorly paced "History of Video Games", with two installments. Making this the only year that's happened.
He also made a list on the worst video game movies, and somehow didn't include Uwe Boll (telling me he has no clue who he is). He also talked about a portable NES sent to him by a paraphernalia site for geeks, what makes it funny is they no longer sell the model he talked about.
For some ungodly reason, GottGame took IG to his first E3. There he showed he has no skill in interviewing people, making me wonder why SWAGshow even told him to do that. He also brought back the Breakfast Rants after a two year absence, but changed it to "I Rate the 80s" with plans to talk about more than cereal. Despite that claim, he still talked about cereal.
2010: This is where things started to change. Like last year, there were only two retro reviews, but the second one included another change in direction. It began an "epic storyline" involving a cast of characters with IG as the "hero" and a mysterious shadowy villain called... the Shadow Overlord. Despite being an "ongoing" story, this was the only installment. It also started broadcasting in HD, which Chris made damn sure we knew. Seriously, he wouldn't shut up about it.
His Neo reviews started getting much lazier, one video being less than two minutes long and an infamous 3-in-1 video where he barely played the games. He also showed how much of a Sony fanboy he really is. As for History, he only did one installment.
His movie reviews also slowed down, going from eight last year to a measly two. And this is after he went from static images zooming in to actual trailer footage. I guess he was too lazy for that.
He also returned to E3 again, and despite the awful interviews, SWAG gave him a lot more to do. This year also started the contests, where he would give away free stuff in exchange for new subscribers. A very scummy trick. Despite his promise to make I Rate the 80s a regular thing, he only did two videos. Oops.
Near the end of the year, he "reviewed" trailers and even planned to make this a regular thing as well. Just another thing that didn't take off.
2011: Things started taking a strange turn here. He gave us three retro reviews this year, but barely advanced his storyline. Like last year, there was only one History video, the slow pace and subject matter of each episode really showcased the problems with his method.
The movie reviews just outright stopped, other than his annual top ten list. There was a HUGE increase in contests, at one point a weekly occurrence. Telling us how desperate he was for subscribers.
To showcase his "cast" he also started doing sketches that were hard to watch, including one of his nasally Jewish skeleton character singing Deck the Halls. He once again returned to E3, and despite the lack of SWAG he still given a lot of interviews. No idea who thought that was a good idea. He also showed how unprofessional he can be when he couldn't get into Ubisoft's conference.
Out of nowhere, I Rate the 80s came back in a big way with five new episodes. People began thinking this was an improvement, until he showed they can be just as bad (if not worse) than his other stuff.
But the strangest was the massive ego stroking videos. Three videos where he talked about how great he is and how he's getting better. One of them mentioned a certain person he stole from in his early videos, almost like a plea for forgiveness. But as they say, too little too late.
The only thing that stayed consistent was Neo, and that's due to his idea that one hour is good enough to review a game. He also changed his "company" name from Y2B Productions to Irate Entertainment.
2012: The year is still young, so who knows what will happen in the next eight months. But so far the output has been astonishingly lazy. We don't even have a new regular IG episode.
Five years of poor research, cliche writing, dreadful acting, and thousands and thousands of haters. Somehow, Chris Bores hasn't learned a damn thing. I'll be here to point out everything wrong.
Five years.... five years too long, I say. The only bright side? We've got your commentary. Keep up the great work, BatDan, and lets hope this year is the one where Mr. Bores goes down for good (especially with the way he's been losing subs as of late)!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what he's doing with the rest of his time. I mean, he used to make tons of stuff. What started interfering? Then again, maybe he just doesn't like being the Irate Gamer anymore.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's part being lazy, part only working a little bit on a particular series of him if he's currently in the mood, part his tendency to waste time on rather trivial stuff (like how he once built a wheel of fortune, and I kinda suspect his special effects make up a huge part of his production time).
DeleteBores is out of the Top 1,000 Most Subscribed (1,007 is the place he's currently at). Due to how slowly he gains subscribers and how fast is looses them, I highly doubt he's getting back in any time soon. Great recap by the way BatDan.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you'll be around Batdan. It's not every day there's an obsessed stalker who follows the person he hates more then the people who actually like him.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your Rants on IG, so I can properly criticize them while you delete my comments, much like a certain other reviewer does.
Are you an obsessed stalker who follows the person he hates?
DeleteSo you admonish a man who maintains a blog that rags on one guy. Yet you yourself have CREATED MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS just so you can keep on ragging on the guy who rags on said one guy, all while acting like you have the moral high ground on the issue.
DeleteDo I even need to explain to anyone how little sense this makes?
And we look forward to more people like you who criticize an innocent blog about a terrible internet review that BatDan could easy just stop doing whenever he wants. :)
Delete"I look forward to seeing your Rants on IG, so I can properly criticize them"
DeleteWhat criticism? All you do is start flame wars and insult people.
Funny how your comments are getting removed. Oh wait, they aren't. Try again.
DeleteHypocrisy abounds with this idiot. Don't feed his habit, if he wants to believe that writing "rainbows make me cry" and spamming blogs is 'criticism' then leave him to his infantile delusion.
Delete@ Ozzy-whatshisface
DeleteI guess your mind has become so alienated by Bores's idiocy that you had lost sight of the real world. That's very sad.
I wonder if Bores is even going to make a 5th Anniversary Video. Though if he did it would be rushed...
ReplyDelete"DailyMail, a British rag comparable to a tabloid"
ReplyDeleteHave to correct you there, the Daily Mail IS a tabloid. Not that it makes a difference when we also have condescending rubbish like The Guardian posing as our broadsheets. Blame Murdoch/Thatcher/Blair/falling education standards.
Ew, that just makes it worse. Thanks for the correction.
DeleteDaily Mail is less of a newspaper and more of a daily printed statement of middle-class fears and bigotry.
DeleteWell to be fair they do publish some interesting history articles on occasion. Yet again so does the Telegraph...
DeleteIt will always be the paper that reported Asylum seekers eat Swans to me :)
DeleteI would say that being a tabloid is not an automatic indication of quality (no less than The Times is one now), but that's splitting hairs since the Daily Mail does seem to be that bad.
DeleteBut hey, can't be worse than The Sun, right?
For the uninitiated British newspapers and magazines can be (slightly biasedly)described as follows:
DeleteDaily Telegraph (AKA: Torygraph): Generally pretty good, does a good sport's and obituaries section as well as some nice occasional articles on history, generally centre-right editorship and owned by a couple of dodgy brothers on Sark.
guardian (sic) (AKA: Grauniad, due to it's frequent spelling errors): The Apple of Fleet Street; which is to say it tries way to hard to be 'cool' (not the uncapitalised 'g'). Suffice to say most of this comes off a pretentious and patronising guff in writing. Generally left-leaning and losing money like no tomorrow due to spendthrift management. Also their head office features 'Thinking Pods' which are just rooms with bean bags.
The Times: A higher end Murdoch vehicle which is filled with supplements and therefore weighs a ton. Generally so-so writing with a central viewpoint but of course being owned by Murdoch means that it's whims can be changed very quickly to suit it's dark master. Like the Grauniad it's leaking money.
The Independent: Started off as a good idea, a Independent newspaper (hence the name) with no bias. Of course this failed and now serves as a cure for insomnia.
The Daily Mail: Right-leaning high-end tabloid/low-end broadsheet which generally serves as the organ for middle-class Britons, with low regard for immigration and the EU. Surprisingly it has a very large women section and as mentioned does some quite good historical articles. Pretty much the nearest thing to Fox news Britain has but having said that most of it's readers would probably be moderate Democrats/Republicans in the United States (Being British they still believe in the NHS and other Welfare (but not for Asylum Seekers)). All of that being said it's non-editorial tracts are fairly good.
The Daily Express: Basically the left-leaning version of the Daily Mail. Anti-EU and Anti-Immigration but generally speaking a duller read than the Mail.
The Sun/Daily Star/the Daily Sport: Unfettered gobshite read by the masses, features tits.
News Magazines:
The Spectator: Very good source of interesting/insightful/high-brow articles, mostly right-leaning but will feature leftist writing as well. Pretty rubbish film reviewer however.
The Week: Sums up everything that you've already read in the past week but in a condensed form. However it does feature American and foreign articles making it a good, quick read.
The Economist: It does economics.
Private Eye: Half-Satirical, Half-Journalistic magazine which irreverently tears-apart the above mentioned newspapers and points out their current hypocrisy/profligate natures/failings. as well as the current hypocrisy/profligate natures/failings of all political parties, local councils and institutions. With large amounts of inside information. It's style is surprisingly better written than a lot of the other organs it attacks and uses high-end vocabulary right next to scatological references. The satirical part of the magazine is the highlight, with many running-jokes and good cartoons. Essentially the caustic critic of the journalistic world.
Try the Daily Mail Headline generator fun but fearfully not too far from reality
ReplyDeletehttp://www.qwghlm.co.uk/toys/dailymail/
It feels like he gave up once his attempt to revitalize his web business failed (all that effort rebranding to Irate Entertainment and having four websites, albeit lazily constructed) resulted in the same anemic growth he's dealt with since 2009. Nowadays, he seems to say "soon" just to placate his remaining fans while he just puts it out whenever he feels like it. I mean, fuck, he's made ten videos all year, and their total runtime isn't a half hour (28:07, to be exact). He's gotta be running out of steam on this YouTube thing.
ReplyDeleteHis paycheck is probably getting lighter as time goes by, which can easily explain why he's being so lazy lately.
DeleteActually, it is some kind of vicious cycle when you think about it :
Lazy => less views => less money => getting lazier => ...
Interesting update from my Facebook informant.
ReplyDeleteBores was at an event involving the latest Magic the Gathering set "Avacyn Restored" and that he "got third place".
So he plays Magic the Gathering. I didn't see that coming.
Buuut, this only makes his comparison in the Skylanders video even more confusing. Then again, he compared Skylanders to God of War so he absolutely fails at comparisons.
Without cheating, I don't know how this is not possible.
Delete@KingCrimson (awesome name btw)
DeleteMaybe this is what he spends his time doing. I mean he doesn't play games and doesn't spend any time on his videos so maybe he's like a bland dumpy Ohioan Yami-Yugi
So he actually participates in "Magic: The Gathering" events? Maybe he should do videos about that instead.
DeleteI'm going to play Devils Avocate here and say that there's a fair chance that there are things that he's decent at.
DeleteI understand that. He's shown skills in editing and camera work so I'm sure he's good at MTG.
DeleteThe problem I have is when he lies about what he's good at. Like video games, or acting. That's where I call bullshit.
That comment about Skylanders being similar was likely his inability to make a good comparison. I mean, he compared it to God of War! Jeez...
Five years. It's only been about two years since I saw my first video of his, the 5 worst video game movies. I had no idea who the guy was then, but I quickly found out thanks to this blog. Clearly, Bores has learned nothing. It takes an incredibly dense man to repeatedly insist he's right when people keep pointing out his errors; yet blinds himself to all criticism and correction. I considered PM-ing him with the parody videos I made (similar to Third Rate Gamer, I Suck Gamer, or Save State Gamer); but since I started reading your blog, Dan, I concluded that it's not worth the effort; and I can get more enjoyment out of reading your recaps.
ReplyDeleteDeleted Ozzy's comment again, huh? You do know that will only fuel him, right?
ReplyDeleteWhere was it deleted? Only comment I've seen by him is the AVGD one right above.
DeleteAlso why not delete them? His comments are useless failed arguments. Check out his blog "Internethitlist" it's fuckin hilarious at the point he's trying to fabricate points for his attempts at tearing down Internet celebs lol.
@ThatWhackyYoshi
ReplyDeleteDamn straight!
As I said, him deleting my comment only makes what I said about him true.
BatDanNight is nothing but; an incredibly dense man to who insist he's right when people keep pointing out his errors; yet blinds himself to all criticism and correction.
Steven also proving my point that BatDanNight has only become more like IG.
He deletes your comments because you're an annoying little twat who's intent is to incite flame wars. You've been told this repeatedly. Honestly, the fact you keep coming back here implies you have developed a rather unhealthy obsession with the place. You should try trolling something more big, like a New York Giants blog or the Bioware forums.
DeleteObvious rudeness aside, if you want to be taken seriously, provide constructive criticism in an intelligent and respectful manner. When people respond, read what they say and draw your own conclusions.
Hey guys, been battling a trojan virus. to anyone who has been trying to contact me, just to let you know.
ReplyDeleteHow come you didn't mention any of his Ghost hunting exploits?
ReplyDeleteWell, he did those before he became the Irate Gamer. He only posted them on his channel because it was popular.
DeleteStill makes me laugh that he calls himself the "most popular ghost hunting channel" when A. There's no other competition and B. Those videos aren't the reason he's popular.
@Kama That's just a pathetic excuse they use when they can't see my POV. I have provided constructive criticism(which by the way BatdanNight's posts are lacking less and less of) But either;
ReplyDeleteA. It's completely ignored and regarded as trolling.
B. BatDanNight deltes my comment because he can't accept criticism.
BTW; I find it ironic how you call me out for have and unhealthy obsession(When I'm not even here all that often)
yet don't call out BatdanNight who has been following IG for more then 3 years. Reporting on every last tiny detail he does.
Are you so sure you understand his POV?
DeleteAlso the primary difference between you and BatDan is he does what he does in his own little space. I'm not aware of him going to youtube or any of the other sites where IG's a big member and posting any of these rants or videos along those lines. You on the other hand are the one repeatedly coming into someone else's house and telling them they're not as with it as you are.
Giving constructive criticism is fine, but statements like "I find it ironic how you call me out..." blah blah, that sounds an awful lot like an attack. Hope that was helpful.
Why doesn't BatDanNight just delete EVERY single one of your comments? Why does he apparently delete some of your comments where you criticiese him, only to allow other comments of you criticising him?
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiLzf72Jtrw
DeleteReally Ozzy? If you don't want to be regarded as a troll then why don't you actually give an argument with something other than your pissy opinion (which would be fine however you don't give anything to support it) to back it up?
DeleteIf you recall, BatDanNight left your comments alone for a very long time. Thats an extensive period where you just kept spewing nonsense to insight rage (I won't even call you a troll because real trolls have atleast a mediocre level of intelligence when they make arguments) to the point it just became too much. Thats not censorship, thats finally smacking a kid so he'll shut the fuck up.
You don't only do it here, you do it on your "internethitlist" blog as well.
I can't believe the "History of Video Games" crap is 3 years old now. I guess because he's only done 4 or 5 in that 3 year span it makes it seem newer.
ReplyDeleteOh goody, look who's back.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ozzy, I can't help but notice your picture: "Arrive, Raise Hell, Leave".
Delete1- You insist you're being serious, with that as your profile pic.
2- You don't really live up to it, now do you? I mean, you do the first part alright, since it's pretty apparent you've arrived.
"Raising hell" would require you to start a flame war. However, with only yourself on your side, it's not so much "flame war" as much as it is "you getting curb-stomped by everyone, with you insisting you're the winner".
And "Leave"? Heh, you never really left. We all knew you would be back sooner or later.
Stone Cold Steve Austin would most certainly not give him a hell yeah.
DeleteAnd yet he somehow insists that he's not a troll, when the only way he could not be considered a troll is, as Arthur has pointed out, he really, really sucks at it.
DeleteFive years of film making and video gaming but yet Bores learned nothing. That is impossible in any real job. Bores only learned nothing he has no real responsibilities. It seems Bores is free to hastily slap together his content with little thought. If there are any rules Bores must abide to, they are either minimal or simply not enforced.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little confounded. BatDan...how long do you want to keep this up. It's about by 2009 (2010 at the latest), ya should've stopped caring about the Irate Gamer. Sure enough, he sucks, but boring man just isn't worth bashing anymore. If you wanna continue this blog, by all means go ahead. I'm not one to stop you but it just seems a little embarrassing, ya know what I mean? Anyway what games are ya looking forward to this year people?
ReplyDeletePersona 4 Arena, Heroes of Ruin, Kingdom Hearts 3D, The Last Story, whatever the big launch title for the Wii U is(assuming there is one), and Sonc 4 Episode II, among other things.
DeleteBorderlands 2, KH 3D, Pokemon Black 2/White 2.
DeleteDark Souls for the PC.
Delete@lolztrollzmallzl: Pokemon Black and White 2, and the US 3DS Virtual Console release for Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land.
ReplyDelete@lolztrollzmallz
ReplyDeleteI see where you are coming from. Back in 2007 when Bores was getting a serious rub from blatant plagiarism this kind of activism was absolutely necessary. We should all be thankful Bores is a complete deadbeat when it comes to a consistant schedule (and not delivering anywhere near quality episodes to make up for it) which is causing him more harm than he realizes.
I don't see it as embarrassing because, honestly, in a twisted kind of way it's fun to see just how bad Bores is going to be this time and to rip the shit out of him. I don't know how that previous statement is going to be received but I just find it somewhat morbidly fascinating how inept Bores is. His E3 videos alone are just baffling in how atrocious he can be.
I guess embarrassing isn't the right word, but I feel BDN is sorta going overboard with this Irate Hate blog. Really what I'm saying is, maybe BDN needs to just give a rest. If this blog continues in 2020, I see no light at the end of this tunnel...
DeleteMy goal isn't to stop him, but to inform others.
DeleteNot everyone is a gamer, and thus they wouldn't know that what IG is saying is inaccurate or outright wrong.
While I'm doing it, why not have a little fun with some humor?
Don't worry lolztrolzmallz I doubt Chris Bores will keep up being the Irate gamer for that long. His views and subs a plummeting and I doubt he will carry on when the money stops.
DeleteIf Bores ever deletes all of his videos and showed no sign of returning, then I'd agree this blog has not purpose. Until then, there's no reason his content shouldn't be critiqued.
DeleteBesides, if it weren't for this blog, I never would have heard of "HVGN" or "DeceasedCrab". There was a game called "Clock Tower" that I heard about decades ago but forgot about, until someone mentioned it here. I passed on information about some indie games like "To The Moon" and "Abobo's Big Adventure".
We got a good community here, aside from the occasional troll. We all come to laugh at Bores but meet some other fun people and pass on some good content to each other.
Besides, while a bunch of people react to the blog like "OMG, this guy does NOTHING but make fun of IG, he has no life LOL", with how infrequently Bores updates, we usually only see a new post once every 2-3 weeks. Aside from doing that and occasionally responding to/moderating comments, I'm guessing Dan probably goes to work and/or college and does various normal-person things in the free time he hasn't dedicated to his blog.
Delete@BatDanNight
DeleteBut there are actually even worse reviewers than Boring man. On top of that you guys keep defending the AVGN's subpar content as of late. Everyone should've stopped caring about Irate Lamer by 2010 and people should be less interested in the AVGN mid-2011. I'm not hatin on you guys but this blog just seems to be getting more and more out of hand.
Two words: Pokémon Conquest (or whatever it's gonna be called):
ReplyDeletehttp://ds.ign.com/articles/122/1224176p1.html
Yeah, I took this from IGN, sue me.
It's a shame it's gonna be for the DS, though. The 3DS really needs more games.
Isn't the 3DS backwards-compatible?
DeleteAnd this game sounds awesome. Can't wait for the inevitable "Romance of the Three Pokemon Kingdoms" XD !
I'd rather play it taking advantage of 3DS hardware, and looking better though.
Delete@Doresh
DeleteYeah, it is, but people still need more of a reason to buy a 3DS, which is a shame, because it can do some pretty awesome stuff. I have four good games on it now, those being SM3DL, Pokémon Rumble Blast, OoT 3D and Kid Icarus Uprising.
However, for some people, there aren't many good games, or hell, games total to make the 3DS worth buying.
My point is, Nintendo really needs to invest on the 3DS.
It'd be a shame if it went the same route as the Virtual Boy...
DeleteChris Bores has been loosing a lot of subs recently. Usually over a hundred each day since late April. I don't get what he did to get this to start again (I mean ya, his last IG short was bad, but it's far from his worst video). Something has gotta be going on here.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder what he will do when he loses all his subscribers except his hardcore fanboys
DeleteHe'll most likely die out. At the rate he's loosing subs, I wouldn't be suprised if 2012 is his last year as IG. If he wants to regain subs, he needs to start doing IG episodes again. Ya they're crap, but that's what his fans want to see from him. Not videos of him doing skits with the Kool Aid Man, Goro, or Sprites from the old Mario Games.
DeletePeople's subscription lists get cluttered and every now and then they clean house. They take off things they no longer like, or things that don't update enough to justify a subscription. Bores falls into both of these categories for most subscribers, and he can't even fail in an entertaining way anymore.
DeleteIt might be LadyBuggin777 getting rid of the "sheeple trolls" from the channel again.
DeleteEither way, it's making things worse for him.
That's a high possibility. Also BatDan, I think that you should make that Redux Recap on his E.T. Review soon, seeing as I doubt the new IG Episode will be out any time soon.
DeleteEven if he does start producing episodes again he'll find it tougher to get people to notice since Youtube's new home page is catered more towards what you already look at. The featured videos are so far down the pecking order you have to scroll down to notice them.
Delete@Clark:
DeleteYou mean YT actually made a GOOD change for once XD ?!
While, I know a lot of people here don't like The Archfiend, I believe he once said that common sense and age will affect people like Chris. Perhaps that's what is happening to Chris, which kinda' makes sense considering the majority of Chris's fans are (or were) young adolescents.
DeleteYou know what else I noticed? Is that all of Bores' hardcore fanboys such as lukestarkiller and batdanmn have not been posting on his channel for quite a while. Now it's mostly just Ladybuggin. I wonder if those two users have finally given up on Bores.
DeleteWell, when Ladybuggin keeps blocking the detractors, it doesn't leave many people for those two toolbags to argue with.
Delete@KUKEDUKE:
DeleteThis is pretty much my personal theory of how IG's career will end: Young adolescents can switch their interests pretty fast (which is why all these pop stars and bands aimed at a younger audience don't last all that long, however popular they may be). Those 5 years are probably the time span needed for his day-one-fans to mature and raise their quality standards.
My only question is did he join on the 23rd and make the video on the 28th or did he make the video before the 23rd and took 5 days (After joining on the 23rd) before uploading it? Either way, it's bad...
ReplyDeleteLadybuggin commented:
ReplyDelete"BTW is very funny that the same 10 or 12 idiots are STILL blogging on Batnights rag of a blog. I mean come on how hard up do you need to be to hang in there 5 whole yrs. cryin' about a video game reviewer? Don't these dude's know what a girlfriend is? If IrateGamer hasn't gone away by now dude's, I doubt your whine & cheese will change that for the near future ....ha ~ I guess 20 yrs from now those dude's will still be bloggin' -n- bitchin'about IG"s 25th yr anniversary instead of moving out of their parent's basement's and having any resemblence of a real productive life. LOL makes me giggle just to picture that! :)~"
I'm not gonna' critique the childish/immature comments considering we're unfortunately used to that, but seriously, how can she criticize the people of this blog when she is practically guilty of the same crime?
I mean, what sounds worse: One man spending, what, 20 minutes of his life writing a blog every few weeks and the readers spending a minute of their lives commenting. Or, some mother relentlessly commenting on videos, trying to restore the destroyed image of her son?
Also, am I the only one who thinks it would be pretty pathetic if Bores is still doing the Irate Gamer 20 years from now?
Ladybuggin is dead and in Bores's attic. Chris just puts on a dress and wig then goes online to defend "her" son. Sorry but I refuse to believe a woman the age Bores's mother must be would talk using words like "dudes".
ReplyDeleteWhy do people go for that "you have nolives/live in parents basement" argument against anyone on the internet? I own a two bedroom house and I have a job that lets me visit vineyards in Sardinia, doesn't mean I don't enjoy reading about IG videos getting dissected.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteLol dudes hahaha
DeleteThis is basically the reason why flame wars and such exit: It takes little to no time to read a blog or forum entry and reply to it. Everyone can do it, and pretty anytime they want.
DeleteProbably because people seem to like to think, even if they really do know better, that life fits into neat little Hollywood stereotypes. People who like certain things have no social lives and still live with their parents. People who are successful spend all their free time with their families and have no simple pleasures.
DeleteI hope he has a 25th anniversary as the Irate Gamer so we can get to History of Video Games Part 10.
ReplyDeleteWell I would like to hear his oppinions on the Commodore 64
DeleteHey hold your horses there! We have to give him enough time to make the scripts don't forget.
DeleteHistory of Video Games Part 10? I think you're putting a little too much faith in him.
DeleteDon't mean to be morbid but isn't it likely LadyBuggin will be dead by IG's 25th? Im 30 my mum would have been 52 this year and she had me at quite a young age, Chris's IMDB profile says he was born in 78 so even if she had him in her early 20's she would still be about 80.
Deleteby the time of the anniversary I mean
DeleteMy grandma hung around until her mid-80s, so it's within reason.
DeleteSpeaking of IGs IMDB the fact this exists is depressing
ReplyDeletehttp://www.imdb.com/character/ch0245541/
Wow, I feel so sad now... Also, "frustrated" is spelled wrong on the main IG IMDB page.
DeleteDo you think "frustrated" is spelled wrong because of Chris's idiocy, or do you think it's because someone went on there and changed it to mock him?
DeleteI don't know, I feel like maybe Chris made the IMDB page himself. Though its a possibility that someone is making fun of him.
DeleteI wonder if Chris would enjoy the Monkey Island series. But since you can't die, that will mean the game will automatically suck like Epic Yarn, right, Chris?
ReplyDeleteHe'll probably compare it to an FPS (probably Doom) because you click at stuff.
DeleteIf I remember correctly, there is ONE way to die...
DeleteStay 10 minutes underwater, which has become running theme in the Monkey Island games and a running joke in a few other PnC adventure games by LucasArts/Telltale Games
DeleteI read that there's one puzzle in Monkey Island 2 (still need to finish it) where you die if you take too long, but then Elaine, who you're telling the games events to, reminds you that that didn't happen because you're still alive telling her the story, after which Guybrush starts telling the story again from the start of the puzzle, giving you another chance.
Delete@Doresh
That does remind me of video made before the release of SBCG4AP (the Strong Bad point and click made by Telltale) in which Strong Bad complains to the developers that he thought "point and click" meant "pointing a gun and clicking the trigger".
I really hope Bores stays away from Monkey Island. Or any point and click adventure.
Deleteumm, guys..

I hate you, That Guy With The Glasses! I hate you, hate you, hate you!! That's why I downloaded this HUGE picture of you! HATE YOU!!!...marry me.
Deletewow... I can't believe someone is SELLING that...
DeleteWhich is why I started mocking him in my videos.... ever since December 2011.
Delete@Arisuka Roken
ReplyDeleteIt's busystreet. Who really cares?
Shh... They already know Roken shared the video. If you say you don't care about Busystreet, you'll start another flame war. ;D
Delete@Arisuka Roken
ReplyDeleteWhat? Five years and people are STILL complaining about people complaing about Bores?
It is pretty much a snake eating its own tail :)
Deletewhy didn't i think about it in the beginning!?
DeleteI'm want to ask does anyone else here think that Ozzy is Asalieri? Ozzy appeared here around the time Asa made his vid complaining about this site, both love to start flame wars and complain that AVGN is not as good as he used to be, and with Ozzy's site complaining about internet celebrities (similar to Asa's reviewing a reviewer series) I can't help but wonder if the two of them are one in the same.
ReplyDeleteHighly doubt it, Asa has some credibility when it comes to responses, and even if he does use ridiculous, falsified ones. He usually loves the chance to have his opinion known and keep letting it be. Ozzy is a one step kind of personality. Haven't really seen much drive from him even if he is trolling, he's still failing pretty hard at it.
DeleteBut it could be a possibility, I'm only going off this one assumption.
I think it's more likely that Ozzy watched Asa's anti-AVGN campaign and viewed it as his bible or something.
DeleteMmm..still no Bores video. It's like he dies often then some idiot keeps resurrecting him...I bet it was Ozzy.
ReplyDeleteOr he is frozen in terror at the sight of his sub count...
DeleteBores has lost 1,410 subs in the past 4 days. Just thought I'd point that out.
ReplyDeleteOn a separate note; maybe doing a piece on somone we can all agree on is a huge douche will get you monkeys off my back.
ReplyDeleteArchFiend Perhaps?
Fiend doesn't really deserve analysis. He exists solely on putting the names of other partners in his videos and doesn't see the hypocrisy of calling them whores when he drinks from the same cup.
DeleteHe once did a video on I-Justine (not sure who she is myself) calling her a whore for putting an ad on a video of her talking about Steve Jobs's passing, he had ads on his video. So its wrong to make money on a video about someone who's dead but its not wrong to make money off a video about a video about someones who's dead, despite the fact it's still centered around the dead person. but then he also complains about people calling him names despite the fact he puts insults in the very title of his vids.
The only none YT partner related video I've ever seen of Archie's was about him going into detail about how Raphael from TMNT was an arsehole due to the theme describing him as "cool but crude" (shrugs)
Daww BatdanNight deleting my comments again? Sorry I'm embarrassing you.
ReplyDeleteHow is he still deleting your comments? All the ones that I've been seeing of yours are still up.
Delete@Ozzyman
ReplyDeleteYou know, as much as I dislike TheArchfiend, at the very least he keeps to himself instead of going to other peoples channels and provoking everyone. You could learn something from him.
Ignore Ozzyman you guys. He's just a genuine rambling idiot who's only talking to a wall.
ReplyDeleteThough you have to admit, it's rather funny in a pathetic sort of way to watch this guy argue with himself when everyone else has already moved on.
DeleteKeep doin' your thing, Ozzy: You're not doing much good, but you're (unintentionally) funny. ;D
@skyrunner14
DeleteNo...I think not.
..My god you need a life. All of you fags.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your definition of life then?
DeleteWe love you too <3
DeleteI'm going to rape your asshole with a broken spoon, shrivel your internal organs, and pull out a bloody popsicle that will be licked twice and ramed back into your rear.
Delete"Fags"
ReplyDeleteThe word 7 year olds use because they think it makes them look tough. :3
..and to think he registered on Blogger just to post that.
DeleteI understand that you are entitled to your own opinions. And let me respond with some of my own.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I don't see how the title is offensive. Its pretty accurate. The Irate Gamer really does suck. Even without this blog I could tell that he's a terrible reviewer. As for immature comments towards IG, I guess there have been some, but Dan does make some very valid in his posts.
As for Dan being obsessed, come on, really? I think if he was obsessed we would be getting daily posts about everything Bores is doing. In reality we only get maybe 2-4 posts a month it seems. I'm pretty sure Dan doesn't spend a lot of his time worrying about Bores, and most likely has a normal life outside this blog.
EricKirby:
Delete1. I agree that it's accurate about IG's gameplaying capability, but there are other ways to describe someone sucking.
So I see where Ozzy is coming from.
2. Now this I'm in full agreement on with you Eric. And as mentioned before, the fact that Chris still does videos even if not so much gives the blog merit.
Now if Chris had improved, attempted to improve or give up the video then I'd agree that continually posting an entry would be obsessive and petty.
I can agree with that, if Bores quits making videos, then the smart thing to do would to end the blog as well.
DeleteI agree with Eric Kirby. I have nothing wrong with BatDan insulting Irate Gamer, seeing as the guy (from what I've seen) really is an egotistical, idiot in real life. Also, I have nothing against the guy, but Mike Matei needs to stop trying to make reviews. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather watch Game Dude than Mike.
DeleteI'm going to rape your asshole with a broken spoon, shrivel your internal organs, and pull out a bloody popsicle that will be licked twice and ramed back into your rear.
ReplyDeleteAh ha ha ha. What a story TheManipulator.
Delete1. Haven't made the same comment a few posts earlier?
Delete2. Wouldn't an INTACT spoon hurt more? Broken spoons are a bit thin, you know...
Wouldn't you rather use something else? A fork maybe? That would certainly do some damage :)
Deletegeta life
