New Low: Chris Profits and Promotes Himself Off a Death

On February 27th, we lost a great cultural icon and amazing actor. Leonard Nimoy entertained the world for decades and will be greatly missed. Whether you watched him on Star Trek, Fringe, or even Kingdom Hearts, he was second to none.

Today, Bores posted a tribute video to him. Talking about how he met him at E3 one year where he was promoting Yoostar 2 (which Bores doesn't even remember the name of).
But that's not what I want to talk about. At the end of the video, he adds an endslate asking for people to subscribe! Holy shit! No! No! You don't talk about someone's death, then demand subscriptions. That is fucked up! He even has the gall to go "If you like what you saw here, please subscribe for more". Wow, way to completely destroy any possible emotion you wanted to build. I was going to ignore this video, but you had to screw it up!

In fact, it gets worse.
I disabled Adblock (I always disable it for people I like, don't worry to any of the video producers that read my blog) and... there was an ad. So not only did he tell people to subscribe at the end of the video, he monetized it. He is profiting off of Nimoy's death. I'd like to hear his new "friends" defend this!
I just... this is why I do it. He always finds a new way to sink lower.

Oh and if he tries to deny it by disabling ads. Yeah, I screen-capped it.

That really is just messed up.

  1. I saw it on my subscription feed. The title alone caused my palm to be faced.

  2. RIP Nimoy

I can't believe Bores didn't disable monetization for the video. That's just sick.

  3. I'm glad I'm not alone in recognizing this.

  4. Unless something worse happens, this automatically will take the #1 spot for worst IG moment of 2015.

  5. On the one hand, I might have given him the benefit of the doubt about the ad- like he might have enabled ads out of habit and didn't think about it. However, the plea for subscribers at the end of a 'tribute' video was plain sick. Is Chris Bores even made of human parts?

With Bores everything is about him in the end...

  6. Oh, this guy. Leave it up to Chris Bores not to respect the dead. Sure, it was terrible when he implied JewWario went to hell, in fact, that incident was no less terrible than the event in question; but when someone seemingly pays solemn tribute to a person they remember fondly, and directly uses that tribute for personal gain, the waters can get pretty damn muddy.

Either way, what he's done now and what he did last year will not go unpunished. Mark my words, fellow readers, he'll eat those words in due time.

  7. We could argue for aeons about who Leonard Nimoy was, and what he meant to so many people, but for purposes of this blog, maybe we should let Chris' words speak for themselves:

“As you know, Leonard Nimoy passed away on Friday and what a great loss to the science fiction realm, the whole world. Uhhh, you know he’s been a part of that genre from the beginning, from the Star Trek and you know I grew up with him and what a great loss.”

Who among us could possibly improve upon that?

  8. I wonder if Chris was thinking when he posted this? Even The Archfiend can't defend him on this. I remember him attacking iJustine years ago over monetizing a video giving out a shout-out to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

  9. If the Assfiend defends Chris for this, then he's officially a hypocrite.

    1. I just left a comment on his latest video to that effect. (Ironically, said video is about the practice of using Adblock on YT.)

    2. ...And it appears that my comment has been deleted.

Side note: I checked Arch's Twitter and he hasn't brought up this matter at all. However, he did throw a slight bitch-fit because JonTron (who he claims to have just become a fan of) appeared on the latest James and Mike Monday.

    3. SCRATCH THAT, it must've been a problem with Firefox. My comment hasn't been deleted (yet.)

    4. He got butthurt because Jontron appeared on James and Mike's Monday? What a child... -__-

    5. Man, Archie must have some kind of vendetta against James Rolfe and Mike Matei over the whole crowdfunding thing...

What would he say if JonTron appeared in an Irate Gamer video, on the other hand?

      Delete
    6. He wouldn't Andrew. Jon knows what kind of moron Chris is. Back when he was on Game Grumps, he & Arin mocked the hell out of Chris during Incredible Crisis and Aladdin.

I don't know who this Archfiend is outside these comment stories, but he sounds like a douchebag if he honestly gets pissed off that Jon met Mike & James. Has he called Jon a sellout or traitor yet?

  10. I wonder if Chris is going to come out with his LAdybuggin777 account and start saying: "lol U Mad?" to everyone complaining in the Youtube comments.

  11. Archfiend ain't gonna like this a bit, I can already tell you that much!

  12. HOLY SHIT...

Profiting off someone's death? Gee, and I thought Trayvon Martin's mom was bad at that...

And yes, I can't wait to see what the reactions from Bores' "friends" will be.

Definite #1 (or even #0) worst moment of 2015 for me so far...

    1. But the question is who is worse? The mother seeking profit from her child's death, or the police who put her in that position in the first place by not deeming the circumstances of his death worthy of proper investigation?

    2. Please, let's not get into a pointless political flame war here.

    3. It's not like I'm trying to, I just felt a small refutation was necessary at the moment.

  13. Thinking back, I thought there was something off the way Chris said "This was such a GREAT loss", like there was a greater hidden agenda at play...

  14. Another reminder of what a shallow piece of human excrement Bores really is. It's a shame some people actually fell for his crocodile tears and anachronistic ramblings regarding the AVGN.

    1. But James is much nicer when it comes to honoring someone who died, especially Leonard Nimoy.

    2. To be fair, James & Mike left ads on their RIP Leonard Nemoy page as well.

      Delete
    3. It's worth noting that ads are everywhere no matter where you go on Cinemassacre, so it's a tiny bit more excusable than openly plugging your channel in the same video that you claim to mourn someone's death in.

      Delete
    4. Ugh how much you wanna bet that the manturds trying to defend Bores action will try to flip it and attack James on his site because of the ads that i bet he cant control itself.

      Delete
    5. I bet you a million to one that Bores' brainwashed drones are going to flip their shit over this.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Bores' fans are more brainwashed than Becky Fischer's kids in Jesus Camp. (If you've seen BigAl's commentary on it from 2007, you know what I mean.)

  15. I left a dedication on one of my videos; and plan on doing so for my next entry on my blog; but this? My word, Chris. Words honestly fail me as I type this.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Remember kids: fans voluntarily contributing money for you to make a movie is bad. Shaking down the still-warm corpse of a beloved actor for pocket change? That's good.

    1. And he (Bores) has the absolute gall to DEMONIZE James Rolfe? Of course Archfiend won't bring it up because he is friends with that lowlife.

    2. Archfiend is full of shit. I don't know why anyone cares what he thinks about anything. I confronted him on Twitter about his constant bitching about people disabling comments and why Chris apparently gets a free pass from him on that. His response was something along the lines of calling me a butthurt AVGN fanboy. I lost all respect for him after that. If all he can do is make presumptions and pigeonhole people as a means of sidestepping addressing legitimate criticism of his blatant hypocrisy, he's not worth anyone's time. A bore who's had his day.

      Delete
    3. BTW, how often has Archfiend been confronted on the issue with Chris Bores saying that Justin Carmical would go to hell for killing himself? I can't possibly imagine him trying to defend Bores on this.

      Delete
    4. Archfiend being asked about Chris and Justin and Nimoy: (holds a gun to his head)

      Delete
    5. BTW, any updates on the theory?

    6. Nothing ground-breaking yet, Kiki. If had no other projects to work on, things would get done a lot faster, but right now, I've just gotten a hold of all the old Save State Gamer episodes (even that lame joke Bible Adventures one he uploaded last month) and am watching through all of those to verify his claims. Once that's settled, I'll post a new tentative list.

      Delete
  17. He also included commercials and ads in his bullshit opening up video. And this video solidate the fact that Bores would do anything to earn tips. Whether if it's brainwashing people or monetizing a dead person.

His claims of being a religious person and doing charities in his opening up video are bullshit lies.

    1. Of course he did. That video was an act of desperation because he knew it was basically the only way he could claim any kind of relevance, view count and ad-revenue again. He's admitted as much himself with his 'no more IG episodes because they don't get enough views', 'constant Skylanders because they do' ethic.

    1. Ohhh, boy. The 'popular reality show' actually is pretty popular, I think (nine seasons to date), but not a ghost-related show, making it strange that he's STILL touting the appearance- still with the language "in January-" on the home page of pursuitoftheparanormal.com.

I know a little about this genre of show, so I'll post more in response to the thread I'm sure BatDan will start.

  20. Well, I can see him MAYBE just adding the ads out of habbit. What I wanted to focus on though....anyone feel weird about Bores' random inclusions of shots of himself and the weirdly loud laugh of his at the end of the conference ? I dunno, somehow that sounds weirdly out of place.

But the shout out REALLY felt out of place to say the least.

But Dan, he has another video out and he finally mentions that "horror movie" he's brought up in the past. Anyone willing to bet he's only in it for like ten seconds ? And sorry for being incoherent, it's past midnight and I've had a busy, bureaucracy filled day XD

    2. Ten seconds? I bet he's only in there for less than that. XD

BTW, moronic comments on IG's video:

      From Seiruff:
"What in the hell is wrong with you people? Do you all have a problem with making money? He is talking about one of his childhood hero's passing away. Just because he is earning money off of his video doesn't mean he is doing anything bad. I hate to tell you people this but in case you didn't know or still live at home with your mom it takes money to survive. It takes money to pay the bills and without it there is no show. I know that's not always the case with every youtuber but you get my point."

      From StreetFIghter5Turbo:
"Why are people disliking the video? Is Leonard Nimoy still hated for being in the new Star Trek movies? They were awesome." (clearly not understanding the true reason why people bashed this video)

      From Chris Purolover:
"Really? People get upset because Chris forgot to disable ads on the video (or did it on purpose)?
Awww....cry some more," (no seriously, he ended with a comma instead of a period)

    3. Oh, and from Eric Sion:
"someguys are seriously butthurt when it come to irategamer! Get over it already you pussies..."

    1. I'll be nice and post what I know now (and not have to worry about it tomorrow).

A cheat sheet for folks who don’t know the pawn-shop reality shows: There are two big ones, both about families who run pawn shops and the interesting customers who bring interesting items in because bless them, they need to raise some cash right now.

“Pawn Stars,” shot in Las Vegas, is a more respectable show focusing on the actual stuff the folks bring in, with a believable amount of human drama sprinkled in.

“Hardcore Pawn,” the one Bores is on, is shot in Detroit (a two-hour drive from Bores’ home), and is often about the crazies who delusionally want huge amounts of money for cheap junk; once or twice per episode a customer gets kicked out of the store by an immense bouncer for making a scene. Hardcore Pawn is not just widely assumed to be absurdly fake, it’s just too great a coincidence that yet another crazy came into the store, and oh, how convenient, they had the camera on the person before they turned crazy.

Bores' new update video showed him in a smiling photo with Les Gold, the owner of the shop, so he’s probably not going to be ejected, but look for some constructed drama- maybe where Bores believes this is really happening, or who knows, maybe an actual deal was cut on camera. It is noteworthy that Bores came up with the idea of going to a pawn shop.

Regular readers of the blog know that I’ll wait to see the episode before weighing in; I certainly look forward to it, but for now I shrug and say, at least he got himself on national TV- a first as far as I can remember.

      Delete
    2. You know, Bores and Hardcore Pawn go very well together... XD

Although I wonder if James Rolfe could ever appear on Pawn Stars? Even though he lives in Philadelphia, which is like a two-day drive from Las Vegas...

      Delete
    3. If James ever felt the urge to raise money for a special piece of film equipment, and had some stuff he really didn't want around the house anymore... well, even then, I assume he'd know someone who'd pay more than a reality show. If Forry Ackermann was still alive, I bet he and James would be fast friends by now. But never a 2-day road trip just to get on TV; I'd say he was bigger than that even before his kid was born.

      Delete
    4. Knowing James I think he'd just E-beg like he always does.

    5. Hardcore Pawn and Bores do go well together. A hack TV show and a hack "video producer" together at last.

    6. That's sarcasm, right?

BTW, what was James' first national TV appearance? I'm guessing it was the clip HLN showed of his YKWB rant on pennies and them being worthless...

    7. A long time ago (I think one of those milestone videos like 'Cinemassacre 200'), James mentioned a brief appearance on MTV when they showed a clip of his Back to the Future review. He made it sound like that was his first national splash.

  25. Seriously?! Even I wouldn't go to such lengths to profit off of someone who just died! That's sick!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I fully expect the Archfiend to out himself as a massive hypocrite. He clearly has a two-gear, false dichotomy, Belker-like (to make an Order of the Stick reference) standard on how one feels about the AVGN and Irate Gamer, as can be seen from how he suddenly went from "anti-IG" to "pro-IG" following the AVGN's crowdfunding "scandals" (nevermind that such "scandals" had nothing to do with IG at all), suggesting that his brain flipped from "hate" to "love" for IG and probably only has those two settings for anything. So he's gonna find this really fucking uncomfortable. But I don't expect him to not be a fool on this.

Or maybe this will flip his two-geared brain again, with regards to IG. But if it didn't happen with his asinine statements about Jew Wario's death, I don't expect much here either.
