Welp, the Excitebike video he teased on Facebook yesterday is now up.
The good news is that it’s short. Only 5:36. I imagine at least 20 seconds is the “thanks for subscribing” stuff at the end.
He capitalizes the “b” in Excitebike in the title. Weird.
*looks at description* “This time taking a look at the classic video game, Excitebike. Is it really as exciting as it's name? lets find out, Irate Gamer style!” He doesn’t capitalize the “b” here, but he doesn’t capitalize the “L” in Lets. Also I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be “Let’s” with an apostrophe. Sorry for the grammar lesson, but if Chris is so confident in his writing skills that he wants to make a second book, then I’m going to focus on that now.
He’s also still including that idiotic “Parapper the Rapper free” disclaimer in the description. What the fuck does that even mean?
He updated the intro to include multiple scenes from “Season 5”. He showcased the stupid “band scene” from the Castlevania montage.
0:17 - 1:10: Takes out the cartridge, talks about it a bit, ends up going off course and chokes himself with his controller cord not even a minute in. Could you at least start playing before doing the retarded reactions?
He briefly goes over the controls. A is slower gear, B is faster gear that can overheat your bike. He overheats in the middle of a race leading to a long waiting gag (yep, another one of these, he is so predictable).
“I could bake a shit soufflé faster than this!” Remind me how he doesn’t use toilet humor?
Also, that was clearly more manipulative editing. The timer was at 0:24 when he stopped, and 0:28 when he resumed. You’re full of crap Chris.
1:10 - 1:37: He mentions the arrows that cool down your engine, and says it goes down “faster than Link can drink a red potion” and it cuts to Bores with a big empty space next to him. Link’s gonna show up isn’t he?
… YEP! Using the Zelda 2 sprite altered to make him look drunk. Also, Chris trying to voice act a drunk Link is just painful. What is the point of this?
Drunk Link rambles, he drops the f-bomb which is bleeped for some reason, and he pukes. With all the dark humor in the last History video and the random puke here, he’s really delving more into modern Family Guy. All that’s missing is the excessive gore.
1:38 - 2:07: He goes over the first track, says it’s easy, misses a jump. He says “gosh damn it”. That’s really cringey and comes off like a Christian reviewer that wants to get away from his fundamentalist roots.
He beats the track in the required time and gets the victory screen where the biker is jumping up and down on the First Place platform. Bores then edits himself onto and jumps as well, and by “jump” I mean “animate” himself to move up and down while cheering. It looks really fucking bad.
Then Drunk Link appears again causing Bores to hide. … This is going to be a Rule of Three thing isn’t it?
2:08 - 3:12: Goes over the third track, shows some hills that slow you down, cut to IG “imitating” that by having the camera shake, makes a comment about his dead grandma being a better driver. Meeeeeh…
On the fourth track, notes the neon green color scheme. “Colorblind our way through the track” Colorblind isn’t a verb you hack!
He runs into hills and bumps, he questions why the biker tumbles after missing leading to the sprite to tumble in front of him. Was that meant to be a reference to tumbleweed? Bored…
Lots of shots him overreacting with the controller. He is the worst at trying to convey proper game playing. The worst.
He beats the fourth track.
3:13 - 4:02: Onto the fifth track, says its gets harder (well duh). Gets angry at a certain obstacle that he calls a “diving board”, keeps screwing up, cuts to him in a race screwing up on the same obstacle there, beats the track only getting 9th place. He gets mad and throws the controller, which hits his TV and changes it to copyrighted material! Specifically Barney & Friends. … Why? He tries to change the channel but his remote is out of batteries. … What is the point? Why is this scene here? Are you continuing to the test the limits to how much copyrighted material you can get away with on future DVDs? It’s going to bite you in the ass one day Chris.
4:03 - 4:50: He moves on to actual racing in Selection B (yeah all the stuff before was Selection A) and he purposely tries to hit the other bikers. YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!
Another over-the-top reaction… who finds these funny? Just doing the same reaction over and over and over and over again isn’t funny. You have to have a variety of them. Save the extreme ones for the really bad moments, for just bad moments try more subdued jokes and riffing. But no, always with the “AGGGGGHGGHGH” like an asshole on cocaine.
He questions how there are more racers even though there were four at the start. They’re either behind you or in front of you. The game can only show four due to technical limitations. This is one of the earliest Famicom/NES games.
He keeps running into the bikers, blames them (idiot) and then a bit where the bikers hit him in real life. Not much longer.
He gets to the finish line, only gets fourth place, then says the game wasn’t exciting, and was about as exciting as “painful ass hemorrhoids”, and he changes the game’s title to “Painful Ass Hemorrhoids Bike”. First of all, gross. Second, “ass hemorrhoids” is redundant as that’s the only location you can get a hemorrhoid. … Don’t look up hemorrhoid on Wikipedia…
The video ends with him removing the game from his NES, he calls it shit and throws it, saying if he sees one more bike he’s going to scream. Then the Paperboy from… Paperboy appears and hits him. The expression he decided to go with is just wrong. Was he going for humor?
Then a stinger as Drunk Link shows up one more time (yep, Rule of Three), says “Excuse Me Princess” (GET IT? BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT HE SAID IN THE CRAPPY CARTOON! HUR HUR HUR HUR) and then he pukes again. This was a mess.
Again, this was barely anything. He barely talks about the game, going over Selection A for most of it, barely covering Selection B, doesn’t even TRY to look at Design Mode, or create his own custom track. What the hell Bores?
Just a bunch of dumb reactions, pointless references, and a terrible running joke involving a drunk Link that really doesn’t make sense. Who finds this funny? Why?
And I bet we're going to get the same song and dance of people asking why he hates Excitebike and he'll use the same excuse of "I actually love the game, why do you think I hate it?" I'm sorry, but when you compare a game to hemorrhoids and call it shit, people tend to think that you don't like it.
At least it was short.
Bores says the 3rd track is a nighttime level. I'm guessing it is because when you start on track 1, the next track will be a repeat of that.
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth did he say at 2:38?
ReplyDeleteDamn a hat?
Welp, I guess that ending indicates Paperboy will be the next retro game review we'll get from Bores. I would say Zelda II is another contender due to the random Link appearance, but that was only used as part of a lame joke which, in turn, only made the video more painful than it already was.
ReplyDeleteThat and how, in addition to him complaining about Zelda II's insane difficulty, he'll get SOOOOO much backlash and hate from people (myself included) due to how Zelda II is a GOOD game (like every other retro game he's done for Season 5).
I don't think he's doing Paperboy. Chris has often ended videos with random references that you would think relate to the next episode, but they ended up just being random.
DeleteLike that one 80's video that ended with Bores inside the Take On Me music video, which made me think that the next episode would be about MTV. It wasn't...
Hell, even in the early days he would do this. His TMNT video ended with him "playing" Donkey Kong. Granted, he would eventually do that game... 8 years later.
He might do Paperboy to mess with you. No matter, you know how to handle it. :)
DeleteI always thought he would do Metroid to complete the games that had featured characters on Captain N, but I'd be surprised if he could even get past the first screen in that game.
DeleteThere was a Paperboy episode of "Captain N".
DeletePaperboy sure would give Bores a lot to work with, if i had any skill making videos, i would do some sort of Paperboy/GTA thing, like give the kid a gun and mow down the Grim Reaper and that break dancer and all those other fuckers.
DeleteYou know who did a Paperboy review? The Third Rate Gamer! Funny how Irate Gamer sometimes reviews games TRG reviewed first (most notably Cool Spot and Castlevania).
DeleteThis reminds me of the ending of the DuckTales review, in which Launchpad takes the Gamer to who-knows-where. I thought it was setting up a Darkwing Duck review, since Launchpad was also in that game.
DeleteI think it's been established that stingers at the end of IG episodes mean absolutely nothing. You know, since they're usually never referenced again.
DeleteFor some reason, he labeled the episode as 12 and not 11.
ReplyDeleteAlso, boring man DOES know you can have a smoother landing by pressing left and right on the control pad, right?
DeleteAlso, boring man DOES know you can have a smoother landing by pressing left and right on the control pad, right?
DeleteThe reason he mis-numbered the episode is chronicled in the comments. Photobucket is down, so I can't post the imagecapture, but:
Deletemariic2
Episode 12? What happened to Episode 11?
Irategamer
+mariic2 that was the intellivision episode
So, HOVG and IG are the same series?
DeleteAnd yet even MORE confusion. He just doesn't care, does he?
Delete-_-
Oh sweet Christmas- HOW do you talk about Excitebike and NOT talk about the design mode?! Granted; Boring Man hasn't really embraced the trend of user-generated content; but come on! It's one of the best parts of the game! Actually, he might have found a way to fuck that up too; so I should count my blessings at least. See you all Tuesday; I'm going to see how fast the drinking game conditions can be met (I have my Mountain Dew on standby).
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm surprised he didn't complain about not being able to save and load your game, Nintendo initially released the game here in the states with the same chip as the Famicom version, and the Famicom Cassette Recorder, only came out in Japan.
Delete1:09, and I'm going to be needing the rest for this jalopy of a video. I also find the drunk Link skit totally moronic; as there are other RPGs and Adventure games where you can get drunk, but Zelda has never been one of them (the closest I can think of is the tavern in Twilight Princess; but I don't think Chris ever played that one). Also, the red potion restores your health; and isn't fermented at all to my knowledge. Chris, your canyons in research keep growing in your attempts to pass off being a gamer.
DeleteDid anyone notice that the last scene is Drunk Link moving over a still image of Chris' awkward expression? It looks pretty disturbing. What on earth is supposed to happen to Chris in the end? Paperboy hits him and then he just freezes? What?
ReplyDeleteI guess it's supposed to be a takeoff on how the game freezes when you crash in Paperboy; but somehow, I don't think Boring Man realizes that.
DeleteCrisbo stated that this was one of his favorite games, right? If so, then why call it poop at the end of the review? Does he even know what a review is anymore?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, these hardly consist of reviews anymore. Now it's just random bashing of classic games for no reason than the tired "It's too hard!". And he wonders why he's bleeding fans?
>.<#
Maybe my sense of humor is taking a turn for the worse, but i found this video way to amusing. I left him some fairly kind words on it. I think sometimes people, myself included, have trouble separating the "art" from the "artist". I just hope he didn't copy/steal any of his jokes.
ReplyDeleteI try to be fair, not assume that the new video will be bad, and give credit where due (heck, we're each in our way critics, and what goal can you have but to be a better critic than Bores?), but Bores makes it hard.
DeleteI'll give him this, though: The last week of this blog touched on the Heene family and their terrible stabs at fame. The "Heene Boyz" YouTube channel, ostensibly a promotional organ for the heavy metal band starring 2009's Balloon Boy and his brothers, is now filling up with sort-of comedy videos that I swear are objectively worse than Irate Gamer reviews. If that sounds impossible, check it out. They're basically uploading scarcely-edited raw footage from smartphones. Bores actually has a shitload of skills that they don't. Bores writes crap, but they're not even writing.
None of this makes Irate Gamer videos truly good or Bores an honorable man, but perspective can be helpful. I think Bores' technical skill is the reason he's reviled rather than simply forgotten.
Anyone guess what he'll review next?
ReplyDeleteAnother useless, shitty piece of tech some pathetic company carelessly sent him.
DeletePopeye on NES.
DeleteJust a guess.
Or maybe another classic like the original Zelda or Mario Bros. Or maybe he'll get extra insulting and review something like Pitfall or Duck Hunt.
DeleteOh crap, I just gave him ideas.
If he reviews Sonic Adventure 2, then he'll be just one of the "hating on Sonic Adventure 2 is cool" kinds of people.
DeleteOr, considering his Captain N fetish, he might as well trash Metroid next.
Delete@Dashing Jack - Or one of those "hating on Sonic in general is cool" douche bags like Egoraptor.
DeleteI'm sorry, but I just have to get this out of the way: It's true that Sonic Games have been dropping in quality (this is coming from a guy who enjoyed Lost World, by the way), but poor Sonic doesn't deserve this treatment! People hate him just because it's "cool"? If that's the case, then consider me uncool.
Delete#>.<#
I'm waiting for Metroid. He knows he wants to do it.
DeleteAfter all, wasn't Mother Brain in Captain N?
Delete@Ixey5 I know right? The love and hate Sonic gets is just all over the place. On a side note, I enjoyed Lost World, but it felt like there could've, and should've, been more to it.
DeleteProbably those 3 Simpsons games for the NES that he promised to save for a later review in 2007.
DeleteAs a Sonic fan (obviously), I actually disliked Lost World quite a bit, but I love Sonic games that are controversial in the series (Unleashed, Heroes). I'm also really sick of people hating on all Sonic games, especially the Adventure ones, basically because that's the cool thing to do now. I recall almost all Sonic games being well received until 06, now suddenly they're all the worst games ever? Makes no sense.
DeleteAnd the problem with a reviewer who happens to be a non-fundamentalist Christian is...?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but I refuse to tolerate put-downs like that.
BatDan only pointed that out because it's either "goddammit" or "gosh darn it." "Gosh dammit" is just an unnatural phrase that doesn't sound like anything a fundamentalist Christian or a regular angry reviewer would say. Bores can't have it both ways with something like a simple phrase with profanity.
DeleteI thought he was Buddhist? Or did he change his religion or something? Outside of checking this site from time to time, I don't follow the guy (can you blame me?).
DeleteChris is not a Christian. It's just another one of his giant lies.
DeleteIs it just me or does Bores look totally uninterested in making these videos? Over the the past three years he's put less and less effort in these videos and looks and sounds totally bored. It's like he wants to stop making videos but he feels that he has to make videos in order to make money.
ReplyDeletethat's probably it
DeleteHe's never cared about the videos. At least not when it comes to video game videos (the ones that he's actually known for). The only thing he's ever cared about is money. That's the only reason Irate Gamer even exists.
DeleteHe also made DVDs and t shirts 6 months into his channels existence. He only created the Irate Gamer channel to rival AVGN and Armake. He was never actually a gamer until 2007. Also over the course of nine years he hasn't even made 50 IG reviews (not counting IG NEO).
DeleteI am sure you've heard the old saying about doing what you love for a living? Chris does not love video games though he may have played a few as a child.
DeleteAbout ten years Chris began posting a few show concepts. Road Trip, Haunted Investigators, etc. The Irate Gamer was born when Chris noticed the subscriber numbers from people like James and Armake. The IG show brought Chris the most notoriety because of the oft mentioned plagiarism and the simple fact that Chris did not understand video games enough to review them. He was clearly hoping that one of his shows would launch his career and the infamy from Irate Gamer was the most attention he had received so he began his quest to delete criticisms of his work.
Now in 2016 he has very little credibility in the gaming world, his fan base tends to be very young and inexperienced and he has few options left. His ghost hunting book was not as successful as he liked so he keeps making IG episodes while he can still pull in a bit of revenue.
The fact that he has to resort to cheap tech crap and tedious art book reviews is proof that he has run out of steam. He just can't shut the channel down though because his finances are tight so he will keep running his online video career into the ground.
Knight41b
ReplyDelete+Irategamer Surprised you didn't touch upon the Design course part of the game.
Irategamer
+Knight41b I did but cut it in order to get this out by the weekend
Either that's a lie to cover up his easily noticeable laziness, or he's telling the truth... which shows is easily noticeable laziness.
DeleteBravo Bores, bravo. You've earned yourself a DSP seal clap (not that I like him either, but whatever dood)...
Bores hasn't given two shits about his schedule for quite a while now. So why is it so important now?
DeleteIf he did cover the design mode, it probably would have gone like this:
"One of the vewy coo things about this game that brings back all sorts of nostalgic memories is the Design mode, where you can design your own custom race track to race on."
(Above said while showing him designing a course ending with a Tardis or Bob Uecker or something else random and unrelated photoshoppped in.)
"But what really flips my shee-it is that you can't save your courses. Once you turn the power off, it's gone."
(Cut to him turning the power off and back on, then doing an exaggerated scream and stares at the camera.)
"What's da point of having a design mode if you can't save anything. What a piece of shee-it."
Totally played this out in my head. Made me chuckle :)
DeleteThis looked like a Third Rate Gamer episode. Except not funny
ReplyDeleteWell, that's because: IT IS! Seriously, now he's ripping off a PARODY of his own show just because he's out of his material. What a lazy bum. -_-
DeleteThat, or he saw how successful Third Rate Gamer was, so he decided to rip him off in order to get that success... except he had no idea what made TGR successful in the first place.
Delete-_-
Irate Gamer ripping off Third Rate Gamer? What a paradox.
DeleteIrate Gamer already ripped off Third Rate gamer when he did the 7UP games.
DeleteThe same theory applies. I'd still watch TGR, though.
Delete^-^
What's really funny (and sad) about the Third Rate Gamer is he hasn't done one of those in years, yet if you watch them, he might as well have made them last week. Everything he makes fun of Bores for in the TRG episodes Bores STILL does.
DeleteAnybody else hear about the Fine Bros Debacle? They filed a trademark for "React". http://superfame.com/post/fine-brothers-copyright-react-trademark/
ReplyDeleteTheir subscription count is going down. Way down. Reminded me a lot of when IG's counts would go down...but he never tried something as random as trademarking a word. Seriously.
This must be a new thing, randomly trying to trademark generic words like King with Saga and Candy or Sony with Let's Play(s)
DeleteThere should be a law saying it's illegal to trademark commonly used words. At the same time, that law shouldn't exist, because that is a stupid thing to do.
DeleteDon't forget about Taylor Swift trying to trademark both the year 1989 and the phrase "This sick beat" even though she actually stole the lyric herself.
DeleteI've seen these things. I think they're really not trying to trademark the word, but really try to trademark the concept of "react videos".
Delete@Shane Joy. I think that the 1989 isn't her trying to trademark the year as much as it is trademarking the 1989 as a promotional tool because of her tour and all.
I've been watching their sub count plummet. It's pretty satisfying.
Deletehttp://www.livecounts.x10host.com/?channel=Fine%20bros
Also, an attorney is getting together with a bunch of other online folk to put together a public opposition to the trademark. If the bros had waited a bit longer, they could've gotten away with it, but thankfully they announced this at a point where it can still be overturned.
http://ryanmorrisonlaw.com/attorneys-react-the-fine-bros-react-trademark/
It's important this gets spread around, and that we continue to keep the heat up.
There's also the time (back in 2007, no less) that Paris Hilton tried to trademark "That's hot"...
DeleteIn a time when YouTube is fucking so many content creators over, the Fine Bros have made it very clear whose side they are on. May they continue to lose subs.

ReplyDeleteSorry about this. Was trying to reply to a comment but my computer was messing up on this site.
DeleteLol. If you look at Chris' twitter, somebody uploaded a picture of a cat that looks like it has a smug looking grin on its' face. It was captioned: "What Chris Bores looks like when he uploads a new Irate Gamer episode." And...Chris retweeted it. Chris, I think he was making fun of you.
ReplyDeleteIf you look a little more further, he also retweeted a cake that utilized the "Aw Crap That Was $5000 Go To Waste" picture.
DeleteThat's the thing with Crisbo; he just interprets anything art involving him as fan-art and the actual meaning just flies over his head.
Delete^-^
I find it weird that Chris does not mention his book anywhere in his bio for the Collingwood Arts Center. Isn't that the sort of thing a ghost hunting guide would mention when trying to attract paying customers?

Chris Bores CAC Ghost Expert
Your CAC Ghost Hunting experiences will be hosted by Chris Bores. Chris has been exploring the afterlife for several years. Chris formed the paranormal team ‘Haunted Investigators’ in 2006 and posted short episodes of his adventures on YouTube which ended up being featured twice in September of 2007 gaining a huge following. In 2008, Chris began focusing on researching the spirit world in more detail.
In 2012, Armed with new skill sets that involved using concepts taken from sources like the Tibetan book of the dead, psychology, and more, Chris filmed a feature length documentary, ‘Pursuit of the Paranormal,’ and came back with groundbreaking 90 minute conversation with a spirit; a feat that has never been accomplished anywhere before now.
"exploring the afterlife"? doesn't he mean studying or investigating? I fail to see how a living person can explore the afterlife especially when know no one knows what the afterlife is. And would Chris say Pursuit of the Paranormal is 90 mins(or more seeing as he keeps saying the conversation within the 'film' is 90 mins), anyone could look that up(or even buy the DVD) and see he's lying.
ReplyDeleteI meant to reply to the above comment
DeleteGod not once did Chris try to position the bike for ANY of the landings. He would jump off a ramp and just wait to land. THIS WAS THE BEST PART OF EXCITE BIKE.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I'm really starting to wonder: what's the overall consensus to people's thoughts on The Force Awakens? The critical reviews are good, but the Internet is full of so many comments such as "This movie was a disappointment" or "It's the worst of them all." Did most people like this movie or not? I'm really confused.
ReplyDeleteAlso, to those people that didn't like it, what exactly do they want in a Star Wars movie? What do they consider "good?" Many are upset because "it's just like the original." But isn't that what you wanted with the prequels? The ones you hated for "not feeling like Star Wars?" Seriously, what do Star Wars fans want?
For the record, I loved The Force Awakens. Sure, it was kind of similar to the original one, but I thought it worked. It truly felt like a Star Wars movie.
DeleteThrilling to see it on opening night, but if you're an adult, shortcomings reveal themselves when thinking about it later. For me a lot rests on whether Episode VIII can add some original ideas.
DeleteI enjoyed The Force Awakens a lot. That is not to say that the movie was flawless but I believe Star Wars movies are best judged on the entirety of their respective trilogies. Each movie is but one act of a three act play.
DeleteI've seen it three times; and I consider it to be a good movie on its own merits; as well as a worthy successor to prior entries in the saga. Much like how A New Hope was inspired by older film serials and "Jidai Geki" films,The Force Awakens was a great love letter to the original trilogy that has me very excited for Rogue One this Christmas as well as Episodes VIII and IX in 2017 and 2019; respectively.
DeleteOne thing I forgot to mention. I think it makes a lot of sense why The Force Awakens is similar to the original. *Spoiler Warning* Kylo Ren seems to idolize his grandfather and wants to be just like him. He even says he wants to finish what he started. So that's why their plans in the two movies are incredibly similar.
DeleteSo yeah, the movies are similar, but it really makes a lot of sense why if think about it.
It's similar to the original because after the prequels, they wanted to create something that was familiar to the fans, that was also safe. If it was too different, it might get the same negativity that the prequels do.
DeleteI enjoyed it, saw it twice, but I also think my opinion might change depending on what happens in VIII. They have the characters and the idea for the trilogy established, now they have to show their creativity and make it more unique.
By the way, who can say "nosedive"? According to CamelCamelCamel, Ghost Hunting 2.0 hasn't had any positive movement over the last two weeks. In fact since January 19th the book has gone down over 300,000 spots in Amazon's sales chart.
ReplyDeleteSee for yourself: http://imgur.com/LnyCMhM
So his channel is now called "Chris Bores TV" , ok?
ReplyDeleteNow he can sell his DVD under a new brand name!
Delete"Chris BORES tv?"
DeleteHow fitting.
To celebrate this rebrand, Boring Man has posted... nothing as of 12:04AM Ohio time. Well, see you all Friday as I closeout my Groundhog day with Thor The Dark World and The People VS OJ Simpson.
Deletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsO8R8u0MYk
Who's gonna register "chrisborestvsucks.blogspot.com?"
DeleteAlso what was going on in the comments of his fable art book?
DeleteHis comments are sadly deleted.
http://imgur.com/0eJjSns
@Michael Dieroff It was a troll account impersonating the Irate Gamer.
DeleteYeah he's trying to move away from the Irate Gamer thing I guess. "Chris Bores TV" probably allows him to be more diverse.
Delete@luagntxhis
Deletebut isn't the troll account with a space between irate and gamer or am i confusing myself?
Now it's back to The Irate Gamer. Huh. Why did he even bother with the rename then?
DeleteOT: Elizabeth Banks has been cast as Rita Repulsa in the planned film reboot of Power Rangers; on track for 2017. While I'm not sure of how she'll do against Barbra Goodson (or the late Machiko Soga in the source material of Zyuranger; which I've been binge-watching on Shout Factory TV for a while); I think she might work in the role, and she should to well in that crazy outfit of Rita's after all the strange getups she wore as Effie Trinket. I'd be willing to put my Legacy Movie Red Ranger on the possibility of her giving a delightfully hammy performance. What do you all think?
ReplyDeleteThis may feel out of nowhere, but I decided to look up Mad Media Labs. The company that made the long gone IG game. And...they're permanently closed. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe game must've bankrupted them.
Delete-_-
Doesn't look like there was much to bankrupt. Google street view shows what looks like a private home on a residential street. Good chance it was a casual entrepreneur trolling/scamming Bores.

ReplyDeleteJust a heads-up: the Bayonetta and Corrina DLC is going live today for Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U; and the Mew DLC for X/Y/OR/AS is available till the 24th, for those interested. Also, it's highly likely that Bayonetta and Corrina will have Amiibo made of them if I may make an educated guess (my latest one, Lucas; will be on his way by the 15th at the earliest, along with my Blu-Ray copies of the first three Pokémon movies).
ReplyDeleteAmiibo development for Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta was already confirmed in the last Smash Direct back in December.
DeleteThank you Hunter. I'll be on the lookout; given how erratic stock and shipping patterns have been (even though I got the least preorder in for Lucas, he's not expected to come to my house until the 15th at the earliest).
Deletewow 14k views for excitebike that was uploaded 4 days ago. That's a new record for the lowest view count for an ig episode so far. I don't see this channel making it to next year but you then again, you never know.
ReplyDelete*5 days ago
DeleteWow. You're right. Has Chris Bores' audience finally woken up? The same way Adam Sandler's audience is finally waking up after Pixels and The Ridiculous Six?
Delete@Sovereign. I hope so. The first retro review of the year is painful; so I can only imagine what Boring Man will do next. Also, The Ridiculous 6 was not only the worst movie I saw in 2015; it's now joined the list of the worst movies I've ever seen. I definitely enjoyed watching CinemaSins destroy Pixels though (I opted to see Ant-Man instead; then watched how it retained its #1 spot as Pixels plummeted against the likes of Mission Impossible Rogue Nation and Straight Outta Compton).
DeleteVoice actor Joe Alasky has passed away.

Grandpa Lou Pickles. This sucks man. :(
DeleteOh that's right. He was the second grandpa...
DeleteHe also voiced Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck for a time. He will be missed.
Deletehe is also well known for stinkie in the casper movie, sylvester, marvin the martian, duck dodgers and finally plucky duck from tiny toon adventures
DeleteIrate Gamer has changed his Youtube channel name to Chris Bores TV.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, when I click on the channel; it still reads The Irate Gamer; but it shows up as the other title in the search results. Is that happening to anyone else?
DeleteThat's a common problem with changed youtube channel names. A vinesauce streamer, Joel, had this channel hacked a while ago by someone who changed the channel name to Towel, and even after he got his account back his channel name would show as Towel on the channel.
DeleteThis is a little random, but for next year's top ten, maybe before the top ten, how about listing: how many total views all his videos that year received, and his top ten most popular and least popular videos are for that year. I know a lot of us are nosy little fucks who want to know how much Bores makes, and I think that would aid in speculating on that topic. I'm gonna do the math for last year's videos and post it here later. Of course it will be a bit skewed since this is February and he deleted at least one video released during that year. And, CBTV? Is that really a thing, calling your online based endeavor television? Its not broadcast over the airwaves. Chris Bores YT would be more appropriate. And isn't television becoming passe? Maybe Bores will claim "nostalgia" as inpsiration, like he misses the good old days of actually watching shitty garbage on TV.
ReplyDelete@gary
ReplyDeleteeh I think you're being nitpicky now over the whole name change. Bores isn't the first nor will be the last to have the word "TV" in it.
BMX athlete Dave Mirra, who starred in several video games, has committed suicide.
ReplyDeletehttp://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/14717868/x-games-icon-dave-mirra-dead-41-apparent-suicide-greenville-north-carolina.html
That sucks. I used to play those games a lot when I was younger and follow his BMX career. Goodbye, Dave Mirra.
DeleteSo, anyone else see CinemaSins' take on the new Fantastic Four? While I may not have found the movie as bad others said; I can definitely agree there's a lot to make fun of, as Jeremy and Chris found. Just as well; since the movie bombed and it's highly likely Marvel will have the rights again for Phase 4. It's a shame how it turned out. Given how much I enjoyed Ultron and Ant-Man; it's probably the worst case of a superhero movie getting ripped apart by executive meddling since Batman and Robin or Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (which the film is objectively worse than, going by its single-digit Tomatometer rating). I mean, at least the Story duology made money despite all the bad press on those; and I still think it's particularly damning that Trank publicly disowned the movie on Twitter and Stan Lee refused to do one of his trademark cameos. We definitely won't be seeing another Fantastic Four movie like this in the near future; especially since Fox is shifting their focus to Deadpool instead (going to that Valentine's Day, should be fun).
ReplyDeleteWeird. Bores removed his Fable art book video.
ReplyDeleteYep, he also removed the tech reviews he did this year.
DeletePossibly due to the heavy dislikes?
Maybe the companies realized how shitty his "reviews" are and told him to take them down.
Deletebut lol at taking down videos if they have a lot of dislikes (if he did that)...is his ego that huge he can't stand to see his own bullshit?
Forget the Board game vid, over 100 videos have been deleted as of recently (he went from almost 500 vids to only 370).
DeleteAs far as I can see, they are mostly E3 vids, contest/updates, filler vids (like the reupload of the ronnie xmas thing or other Misc), along with the tech reviews and more.
Another Friday of nothing; as it's 12:20AM Ohio time. Well, see you all Tuesday; I've got some stuff to take care of. Happy early Year of the Monkey everyone.
ReplyDeletehahahaha, look at this recent post on FB by Bores: "Took a week off from making videos. Much needed after seeing that I released 13 episodes in the past year, wow!"
ReplyDeleteYeah but it was only 9 IG Episodes and the other ones were HOVG, which he also added to season 5 which makes no sense, but yeah bores, he thinks he is clever and did 12 episodes for season 5
DeletePlease tell me Chris isn't this stupid to brag about doing 13 Irate Gamer episodes(which isn't even true) or is Chris really that obvious to other online reviewers. Oh but of course I'm sure he's bragging because James only did what 4 AVGN videos this year, ignoring the fact he stopped doing AVGN regularly.
Delete"last year" not this year
Deletebut also did the game cover art for christmas which shows more effort than any episodes of chris
DeleteI released 52 AT4W episodes, 62 Longbox of the Damned videos, two Let's Play videos, two live shows, two riffs, 15 History of Power Rangers videos, AND A WHOLE GODDAMN MOVIE.
DeleteBores is acting weird. Deleting videos, temporarily changing his channel name, and using "taking a break" to throw out a masked brag. He could have padded that brag with figuring in his other videos, but maybe he is trying to make people focus on IG or he is smart enough to know people would call him out for how most of his non IG vids are him holding something and saying its kewl or how it really brings out the superior bass playing of Tom Hamilton.
DeleteThat's it, focus on IG but he's not clever enough for that, because free-tech-shit for him, but deleting is really weird. i thought views were views, so to hell with that but in the world of Chris Bores, "hmm, let's delete this, so people won't notice that i do garbage.
DeleteWow, Linkara replied... im stunned, i really like your vids and respect your work and the effort you put in. Nice to see you here :)
btw loved your parody on IG
Thankyas! ^_^
DeleteBut yeah, that kind of a boast just pissed me off when I'm trying to increase output and while I'm not exactly exhausted, I take a lot of pride in trying to get as much scripted content out as I can in a single year.
It's very clear that Chris doesn't know what hard work truly is.
DeleteFurther compounding this is the fact we now have another Tuesday of nothing; with it now being about 12:40AM Ohio time. I don't know what Chris is working on; but one of my plans for this year is to do more after scaling things back last year (I'm working on a marathon of Batman movies to get ready for Dawn of Justice; but iMovie doesn't want to encode my look at the 1989 film. I want to do all four Burton/Schumacher films and Batman Begins before the new one opens; so I at least have time to get the ball rolling, hopefully).
DeleteChris hasn't brought up The Force Awakens at any point since it came out. I wonder what he thought of it (if he saw it). Maybe he didn't like it just because the main characters are a female and an African American.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't seem like much of a Star Wars guy.
DeleteAnd he's a lot of things, but I don't think racist is one of them.
DeleteHe didn't like the trailer for Fantastic Four simply because Johnny Storm/The Human Torch was African American. No explanation for that other than racism.
DeleteIf he's not a Star Wars fan, that'd be interesting since two of the movies came out in his favorite decade.
DeleteIt'd also be weird if he doesn't even pretend to like Star Wars since it's the sort of popular thing that he would glom onto to seem cool. Off the top of my head, I can only think of Wise Sage as a palpable SW reference he's done.
DeleteChris has dropped several Star Wars references here and there, like in his Ghost 'N Goblins review. Also, didn't he review some Star Wars games?
ReplyDeleteHe talked about Lego Star Wars III (yes I forget it's a thing too) in that "Video Game Roundup" crap. He also recently talked about the new Battlefront but that was more shilling a shitty site than a review.
DeleteHe also made E3 videos about The Old Republic and Kinect Star Wars. Neither of which he ended up playing (despite his claims that the latter would be amazing).
Also, several articles on his site. Including... Jawa Soap.
He's a Star Wars fan, which makes it weird he hasn't said a thing about The Force Awakens.
On his site, he posted some video about people building BB-8 out of Legos. That seems to be the only thing about The Force Awakens that he's mentioned since it came out.
DeleteHe won't talk the movie, but he'll talk about toys based on the movie. What else can you expect from Chris Bores?
If it was any other videoblogger, I'd figure they ignored SW:TFA because so much has been done on it already and they couldn't think of any new angle, or had no dissenting opinion.
DeleteHow impossible is it that that's Bores' reason?
Happy year of the Monkey everyone!
ReplyDeleteThanks. You too. :)
DeleteHi, I just want to say that today is sort of a sad day for the gaming community.
ReplyDeleteAfter 13 years, Gametrailers is officially shutting down. It saddens me because GT is the only gaming website which I felt their video game reviews are tolerable and it's also thanks to the site, I can catch up and watch all the latest trailers of upcoming and newly released video games.
So I guess now, I have to catch up the latest video game trailers and news through IGN, Polygon and Kotaku. But I feel none of them are as entertaining and magical as Gametrailers
Thanks for 13 years of wonderful service, Gametrailers. You'll be dearly missed.
GameTrailers will always have a special place in my heart as the people who promotes the hell out of James Rolfe and ScrewAttack. Without them, ScrewAttack and James won't be as popular as they were now, and just like many people I think GameTrailers are also amongst some of the most genuine, honest, and unbiased gaming journalist site in the world and it's a shame that they have to close down after all these years. The one similiar site I can think of as their Spiritual Succesor would be GameXplain, and I'm afraid that they're the only gaming journalism site that has the same amount honesty as GT in this world(because IGN, Kotaku, and other similar sites can go to hell). Thank you, GameTrailers for giving all of us a great content for the past 13 years. I wish you all the best of luck. #ThankYouGameTrailers
DeleteSo, what does everyone think about Platinum Games' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan? After Transformers Devastation; I can say this was a natural move, tackling another nostalgic '80s property. They've already sold me on the presentation (which has this dynamic, comic book look and feel akin to the original Mirage stories with some of their own flair as well); and I hope the gameplay will be just as enticing, since many of the TMNT games outside the 8-bit and 16-bit entries have been hit or miss. Expectations are high for a TMNT game by the people behind Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. As for Chris: given how his abysmal TMNT "reviews" are the ones that got me to hate IG, he'll most likely cream himself over his fetish for the 80s; then whine about the difficulty (since Platinum isn't known for casual play). Well, see you around; I'm working on getting a mistake cleared up with Amazon for my Lucas Amiibo and my Blu-Ray of the first three Pokémon movies.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Shits-Play have a drunk version of Link?
ReplyDeleteLame minds think alike.
Wow still using ableist language eh shit for brains? Man you sound just like those bullies that always picked on me in grade school for no reason, you're no better then Chris at all, you are an arrogant dickhead.
ReplyDeleteFirst, you're near three years late, and second... A wild IG fanboy has appeared. Isn´t that cute?
