One of the purposes of this blog was to showcase that Chris Bores has more problems than ripping off other reviewers. I feel I've succeeded in showing that to plenty of people.
But even to this day, when Chris is in "semi-retirement", he still can't help but outright steal from other sources without credit.
In this case, an article he posted over at his site.
An article discussing the 2016 Ghostbusters trailer being the most disliked movie trailer on YouTube. (An archive link in case he tries to change or delete things)
Here's the thing, only one line of that article is original (the very first one "Whoa, I knew this one would not bode well with pop culutre fans of the original, but not like this!"). Everything after that, is taken from ScreenRant's article. He also removed a couple paragraphs at the end.
As you can see in IG's article, no credit to ScreenRant at all. Plus, the writing is clearly too intelligent to be Chris. You'd never hear him discuss the possible sexism towards this move without making a fool of himself.
Come on Chris. Haven't you learned anything? You even recently said on Facebook, while celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day, that you're thankful to them for everything you learned. Are you just blowing smoke out of your ass? Granted if you really did learn anything, you wouldn't be a complete joke on YouTube.
By the way, it's been over 9 years since Chris started the Irate Gamer. On April 28th 2007, he posted the Back to the Future video. The start of something stupid.
Hard to believe that Irate Gamer started nine years ago... and he still hasn't improved. If only he'd listen to the criticism he's received over the years.
ReplyDeleteWonder what Chris' excuse for this one will be. "Oh, it was just a coincidence!" or "I accidentally used some of their lines!" What's next, is Chris going to write a letter to ScreenRant?
ReplyDeleteOr make a slanderous video that lasts 2/3 of an hour?
DeleteAlso, I looked at the Irate Gamer episodes wiki page to see how many episodes Chris has done. Not including the HOVG episodes (which are listed as episodes on the page) and counting two parters as one (which the page doesn't do) there are only 45 episodes in total. After nine years, Chris has only done 45 episodes. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteHe's averaged 5 episodes a year? Jesus H. Jones, only American Dad and Sherlock have made less episodes per season (tied at 3, but with both of those it made sense {Sherlock being released every couple of years with a mini-series and American Dad moving to TBS}).
DeleteWell, American Dad is a Seth MacFarlane show, and we know how much he loves those...
DeleteSpeaking of the new "Ghostbusters", Bores is a misogynist. He said that when he heard the reboot would have a female cast, he wanted to jump off a roof.
ReplyDeleteIs he a misogynist or perhaps there's some other reason behind it? Star Wars had a new female lead and nobody complained about that.
DeleteThat is, until the trailer for Rogue One went online and then everyone started complaining about the female lead.
DeleteI don't think that would really be the case had Disney not dropped the ball so hard with Rey's character. At least from what the trailer tells us, Jyn Erso might actually get a proper character arc. Then again, they just might find a way to fuck that up too.
DeleteIt's astounding that the one place where Chris can write freely (his own website), he instead chooses to waste the opportunity with blatant plagiarism. Completely lazy and dishonest.
ReplyDeleteThen again, when has Chris ever been honest and working to a schedule?
DeleteGood point.
Delete@BatDanNight
ReplyDeleteBeen awfully quiet about your emails with Eric Allen and/or Scottie. Keeping them confidential until the time seems right I presume?
I haven't been able to contact them at all. I don't have any e-mails. I'm hoping they contact me.
Delete@BatDanNight
DeleteTry contacting UltimateCharm, Sovereign64 or Stella77. I'm sure one of them can help you get in touch with Scottie at least.
Chris opens up about the Screen Rant article in a 39 minute video.
ReplyDeleteYou see, everybody else has it wrong and he is entirely innocent here. Chris did borrow material from that writer but it was in order to pay tribute to him (and Chris didn't know what else to do in an article).
Then the haters come along and see how this article is nearly identical to the other writer's article and ask what this sis all about. They make all kinds of hate comments about Chris Bores, spread lies, rumors and drag his name through the mud.
Chris Bores too philosophy and psychology in college and he decided the best thing to do is just shut up. After all, he is a religious person in his personal life.
What we don't know is that the Screen Rant writer is the villain here. Look how many times that guy uses words such as "the" and "I" even though Chris Bores used those words long ago. Yeah, none of the haters ever bring that up.
In conclusion, the Screen Rant writer snubbed Chris and used a rigged contest to ruin the popularity of Chris.
If he does stuff like this, I seriously wonder how the heck he managed to get past school.
ReplyDelete-_-
We've debated before whether or not Chris actually graduated. I had another thought maybe he was home-schooled for whatever reason, but nah, I might thinking in too deep there.
DeleteI ask this because plagiarism is a big no-no at schools. It's not like Ohio schools are different.
Delete-_-
I remember LadyBuggin777 saying something along the lines of "So you're saying a dropout... did better than graduates? Ha~" I realize she maybe was using sarcasm but then again, she actually could've been serious.
DeleteAny idiot can graduate, but Chris' case is still debatable I think.
DeleteMakes you wonder how well Chris would fare with his grades if he was sent back to high school.
DeleteHardly anyone visits Chris' site. The feedback on his posts are practically empty.
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of a heckle I once heard at a sports match: 'You can't even cheat properly!'
ReplyDeleteNot exactly cheating, but look at how Crisbo uses the turbo controller in his "Mission Impossible" review. I can say: You got THAT right!
Delete^-^
Indeed. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but even I can see the endless goofs that undermine his alleged credentials.
DeleteRe: my other post. Ja, you're right: plagiarism and cheating are two subtly different things. Nevertheless, they are both equally unforgivable, and anyone who is found guilty of either should face stiff sanctions.
I wonder how Bores would react, if someone were to implicitly present his book as their own work…? Hmm… I wonder…
Why would anyone want to admit to that piece of horrible grammar?
DeleteOh dear. It's one thing when this trailer gets more dislikes than the infamous video for Rebecca Black's "Friday", but stealing from other writers after all these years? As a journalism major myself, I'm offended. Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their Star Wars day. I watched Episode VII for the 11th time, still looking forward to Rogue One. I can only imagine what Chris will do now. I can bet some new Ecto Cooler it's nothing good.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could like Disney Star Wars as much as you do.
DeleteBut I guess a hip, PC remake of Episode IV and a Hunger Games style YA rip off in space! Just aren't my thing anymore. :(
Yeah, Cinema Sins and the Honest Trailer got some pretty good riffs on those elements. Still, more effort went into The Force Awakens than the lion's share of Happy Madison's output in 2015. I definitely can buy an orphaned scrapper becoming a future Jedi more than Adam Sandler in redface. At the very least, it's easier to fit a map in a droid than somehow hack a car with cheat code glasses (seriously, WTF was up with that?). There's only so many times I can watch the "adolescent idiot" character type before I decide that a daring rogue pilot, a troubled soldier and a conflicted tyrant are more my speed. I just hope this reboot can overcome this uphill battle. Boring Man, however is still as bad as ever.
DeleteCan you guys imagine Chris making grounded videos on GoAnimate?
ReplyDeleteThat would either be the one thing he's good at or he'd somehow screw that up too.
DeleteI can picture the scenario. Bores makes a review of Metroid. Someone criticizes him for not playing the game right and using Game Genie. Bores then responds with a lackluster video of a cartoon version of him "grounding" the user.
DeleteI will never understand how "grounded" videos became such a GoAnimate fad...
He copied from Screen Rant? Not the best site for that, I mean, other than one or two actually good articles per month, most of the stuff they publish is... well... let's just say it's not very good.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they're not my go to source either; but I can't fathom Chris being any better. I'm planning my own piece to address the matter for my CWE journalism class, so I can only imagine what Sony is planning for damage control; let alone what Chris will follow that horrid Duck Hunt "review" with.
DeleteThe site has Bob Chipman on the payroll. Not the most up-and-up site out there...
DeleteWonder what Chris thinks of the new Power Rangers suits for the upcoming movie. I think they look like shit.
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty cool to me.
DeleteYeah, I think they look badass too. Kind of reminds me of the armors from the 1995 movie with a bit of an Iron Man twist to them.
DeleteSegmented armor is about what I expected from modern aesthetics. Not a bad thing per say, but getting overused in films. Glad they kept the bright color schemes and didn't darken them to the point of almost being black for the sake of edginess.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's one of the many reasons I didn't like that infamous fan film. This style is in line with designs from something like The Dark Knight Trilogy or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where the costumes are recognizable, but more practical for a movie.
DeleteThat's just sad Chris. Very very sad. After 9 years and you still couldn't write anything original on the Internet.
ReplyDeleteI hope Bores never improves and keeps on being the same old lame-assed plagiarist he's always been. Just as long as this blog continues along with him. I think Irategamessucks is kinda like the MST3K of the Internet. Well, at least until Rob Bricken's Fan Fiction Friday returns. I'll never uncross my fingers for that.
ReplyDeleteHey, by the way, has anyone seen the latest episode of Game Sack? They did a whole YouTube game reviewer parody show. While Game Sack has never been famous for it's comedy stylings, they've improved on this by leaps and bounds, and the episode is actually really funny. By far the best part is the Irate Gamer spoof. If you're a fan of this blog, you will laugh your ass off. It's pitch perfect.
Man, talk about showing improvement over time. Game Sack has worked hard and has come a long way. Bores is still Bores. So kudos to Joe & Dave. And razzleberries to Bores.
Seeing as Topless Robot when belly up I don't expect it to return
DeleteOh my fucking God...that was the best impersonation of Bores I've ever seen. They got everything right down to the pointless edits.
DeleteI've been getting a lot of spam emails from Amazon sellers wanting me to give reviews in exchange for free or discounted products. I think I started getting them around the time I reviewed Bores's book.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a coincidence. Has anyone else who's reviewed the book gotten anything like that?
Bores also took some chunks out of earlier parts of the article, causing the version on his site to come out totally nonsensical at times.
ReplyDeleteHe cuts out a huge chunk of the beginning, resulting in the first sentence of the first paragraph and the first sentence of the second to become the single "Ever since the full trailer for Paul Feig’s upcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot debuted online, the Ghostbusters reboot trailer is the most disliked trailer in the history of YouTube."
Resulting in the blatantly false claim that it's been the most disliked video from the second it was posted.
He then cut out the entire third paragraph, which contains the hypothesis that sexism is the cause, meaning the next paragraph (the pro-Ghostbusters side's response to that deleted paragraph) comes totally out-of-nowhere.
It's not because of sexism though.
DeleteNew video up,
ReplyDeletehe's shilling tech reviews *massive*ly
It's a shitload of fuck.
DeleteI can only imagine how happy these no-name Chinese companies are to get Bores to shill their products ever since August of last year...
Delete*Sigh* He never learns his lesson. I love how he says that he's gotten a lot of companies to request him to review their products. My mind is baffled. This is a guy whose videos only earn an average viewership of less than 50,000 and yet there are companies who think their products can get attention by having him review them.
DeleteOh and he's making giveaway contests again and...you're kidding me. After nine years on Youtube, HE'S STILL ASKING PEOPLE TO JUST TYPE THE WORDS "PICK ME" IN THE COMMENTS AND HE'LL RANDOMLY SELECT A WINNER?!?!?!
I...I...ugh...
It's more believable that it's SPAM he's answering. Like the type @Shaolin Dave's getting.
DeleteChris is probably thinking it's real and answering it.
359 Pick Mes wow Boresy has a lot of picking to do
DeleteSame old, same old stuff. He' ll prolly gonna delete it after it stays on YT for a decent amount of time.
DeleteJust watch Ashens!
DeleteOff topic, but just like how they have Super Mario Maker, wouldn't it be cool to have a Zelda Maker? I think that'd be really awesome to be able to make your own Zelda dungeons.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quote is from Armake21's rant on him.
ReplyDelete"He just looks pretty on camera! I'm surprised that fucking chair didn't collapse under his fat fucking ass!"
LMAO!!
Off-topic, but have you guys seen the new trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon? I'm hyped!
ReplyDelete#TeamPopplio
Delete#TeamMoonBat
So looking forward to them. The new region reminds of Hawaii.
Deletenew video up, another shitty app review.
ReplyDeleteWhy post these if he's gonna delete them anyway?
Why post if it's always the same boring shit anyway?
DeleteChris Bores was a game reviewer, and then he was a toy reviewer, but now Chris Bores is...AN APP REVIEWER! And he's about to find out that being an app reviewer (shows dislikes and poor views) is harder than it looks! Chris Bores is The App Reviewer! Rated PG-13
