It's been over two months since Chris released an episode of GeekTime. His announced plan was "one episode a month". While February is still far from over, it's starting to look less and less likely that he will put out another one.
Much like The Skylander C, Chris Neo, and all of his ghost shows, I think we can mark this as another failure. He tried, put out six episodes, reuploaded them to YouTube, cropped the "best segments" into individual videos. But it's clear people didn't like it. Poor views and major dislikes on certain videos show an audience that just doesn't want this.
As mentioned before, Chris & Tim do not have charisma. They don't have the talent to carry on a podcast for over an hour. There's also the issue of timing. Most podcasts usually try to stay up to date, and avoid discussing outdated information. Not the case with these two. That is when they don't get the information completely wrong.
Of course, knowing how Chris operates, we'll probably see a GeekTime episode uploaded within a day of writing this post.
For now, Chris seems content with pushing out 10 minutes of Puppet trash. Enjoy such exhilarating content like pointing out the existence of UPC codes, the existence of logos, and anything to make sure YouTube pays him. How the hell has COPPA not taken him down...
Saying Geektime is dead is like saying the sky is blue at this point. Now I'm just wondering who Chris is going to blame for this. Also to people that read this blog that have wanted this, I just got done filming The Rise and Fall of Channel Awesome and editing is going to take 2-3 days. It will be MUCH longer than the other two videos were and it should be up either late this week or next week.
ReplyDeleteI guess so. There aren't enough UPC's to mention in GeekTime.
ReplyDeleteI think it's safe to say at this point GeekTime may be no more.
ReplyDeleteWe're up to UPC's now? Love be spared for Chris Bores and his educational vids that gives us lessons about things no other could provide you with (except every retailer out there). Where would we be without the ability to recognize labels and brands? Holy Mother of Reason, we may have a genius on our hands!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep doing what you're doing, Dan. And the rest of you guys. You. Yes, YOU. Reading this comment. Keep doing that thing. Pet the cat. Mow the lawn. Make your own Youtube vids.
The newest Cinemassacre video is "Top 10 Reasons Blu-ray Sucks," and it's 16 minutes of well-argued scholarship on the matter. Classic James.
ReplyDeleteLet's see Boring Man's take on something similar like "Why Streaming Services are Overrated".
DeleteWatching that video I wonder if anybody has made a counter argument against James' Blu-ray video. Most of his reasons hold no water and only seem to affect him, yet he treats it like the format as a whole is worse than DVD. Very unprofessional and poorly researched, and half of his "problems" are from the outdated PS3 he uses.
DeleteToday is Peter Gabriel's 70th birthday (In the 1980's, Peter Gabriel did have a hit song called Sledgehammer. So 1989, here we come! *ends with newspaper gag and plays Sledgehammer*
ReplyDeleteBores' latest post:
ReplyDelete=== Wow, this has to be the most interesting scandal to hit paranormal TV show community EVER. I knew Ghost Loop would be a garbage TV show, especially after I got into an argument with someone that worked on the show saying why is it called Ghost Loop when its not about residual hauntings!! Haha ===
With this link
There's something uniquely sad about someone who pretends to hunt ghosts attacking someone else's pretending to hunt ghosts.
DeleteYeah that’s pretty rich. He links to an article from Skeptical Inquirer’s website, which tears down just about anything paranormal. I wonder what articles in SI on Bores various ghost related dvds would be like. Also, going by the article, the ghost loop vs residual haunting thing is the least of the shows problems. They use Xbox connect as a ghost hunting tool lolololol
DeleteAnyone seen the SONIC movie?
ReplyDeleteIt didn't suck!
In fact, it was pretty funny.

DeleteHoly crap, the Puppet Steve video on Sonic movie toys is absolutely packed with ads. Something like 5 ad breaks (with each break up to 2 ads each) for an 11 minute video.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea if Chris is complying with COPPA or not. He better hope he is with that many ads.
Take a look at every show Chris has produced from Scottie & Chris' Road Trip and Haunted Investigators, History of Video Games all the way to Geek Time.
ReplyDeleteAlmost every single one of them has been a failure. Irate Gamer was briefly popular because YouTube spotlighted him (and Chris doesn't understand why they did that).
Puppet Steve is the most successful project Chris has ever done and coincidentally is something he refuses to put his name on. How many Puppet Steve videos credit Chris as the writer, producer, actor or editor? Even so, the channel's success is due to being in the extremely lucrative toys genre on YouTube. With that in mind, his views and subscriber count are still abysmal compared to Ryan's World or CookieSwirlC.
Failure itself is not something to mock; every creative talent should be regularly experimenting, trying new things, and accepting and learning from cases where these didn't work well. What I take exception to is the specific choices Bores makes regarding what to invest his hopes and ambitions in, what hills to die on and subsequently attempt rebirth on, and stealing content.
DeleteI am not mocking failure. I myself have failed more than once but I did learn from my failures.
DeleteI am merely pointing out that almost every show Chris produced is a failure. The two most successful shows he has owe their fame (or infamy) to circumstances outside of Chris' control.

Chris opened a private group (Ghosts of Toledo) on Facebook and He invited me:
ReplyDelete"Welcome to the Ghosts of Toledo Website. I've been getting so many great stories and ghost hunting opportunities lately around town, I decided to open my own group. You can keep up with cool news and even my ghost exploits. More posts to follow! And I think I'm finally going to post my 90 minute interaction with a spirit on Youtube. I need to update it first though. So stay tuned."
He also revive his www.chrisbores.com website.
DeleteI thought Chris' "interaction" was only 54 minutes.
DeleteHoly shit, he claims (on chrisbores.com) that he had a bestselling book on Amazon. Is he actually counting a brief appearance in whatever sub-sub-category as a bestseller? And he claims, I think for the first time, to have been on Hardcore Pawn, like, in the past. Apparently too modest to post a clip.
DeleteCheck this typo on chrisbores.com: "Interacting with the dead and interviewing them has never been more revealing through his methods!" Without the word "than" between revealing and through it appears as if Bores is admitting his methods are no more revealing than any other ghost hunter's methods.
ReplyDelete"Through his endeavors, he has created new a brand new approach to ghost hunting"
DeleteAnd he brought back the reminder that he once had the 55th most subscribed YouTube channel!
DeleteAnd claims it was 2010, but i think it was 2008 when He got this achievement
DeleteI thought it was in 2007...
DeleteChris Bores has a new website? And he's STILL milking the "55th most subscribed" shit on it??
DeleteBatDan my man, you know what to do
It's still the same description before his website expire last year.

Wow. He/Puppet Steve are at Toy Fair, and actually uploading a lot of on-the-scene videos, and they're not all ten minutes or longer. Can't speak to the quality yet as there are so many.
ReplyDeleteThe quality is terrible.
DeleteI wonder if there will be more face revals or Todd McFarlane referring to him as "Chris".
DeleteI tried watching some. Abysmal quality. They're hard to understand because Chris has a potato for a phone and the sound was utter ass.
DeleteI don't understand why these videos are split into parts. Why not do a big one?
Also, that My Hero Academia one was a joke.
OT: Looks like GameStop is continuing to struggle. Chances are they will go belly up by the end of June.

ReplyDeleteFEBRUARY 14, 2020- "Sonic The Hedgehog" released to theaters.
ReplyDeleteFEBRUARY 29, 2020- "SONIC the HEDGEHOG JAKKS Bendable Figures Series 2 Movie Toys Unboxing!!!" released to YouTube. Opening line: "All right, kids. As you know, the new Sonic the hedgehog movie comes out next week..."
We know his videos are bad, but... what has to go wrong, or always be wrong, or slip between the cracks or fall into a wormhole for something like this to even happen? My best guess is that he shot the footage three weeks ago and didn't get to finish it until this weekend, but how goddamn sloppy, how goddamn lazy do you have to be for an error of this scale to even start to become possible?
Yeah, I have to think that CHris shot the footage before leaving for Toy Fair and only recently got around to finishing that video.
DeleteWell, Toy Fair is four days altogether. Even allowing for travel, that's over two weeks unaccounted for.
DeleteRegardless of whether he barely finished the video, this just flat out shows that Chris is way too fucking lazy to edit or look through his videos before posting. Showing that he doesn't give a shit about the quality of his content, only caring for views and $$$$. But then again, what else is new?
DeleteHoly crap! I have not watched Puppet Steve in ages so I checked out his video on FNAFMexican bootleg figures. As you'd expect, Chris went full on racist with a plush El Chip toy (tag still attached so Chris can sell it later). The worst part was that horrid accent. About as bad as Speedy Gonzalez with terrible acting. Chris also plays Mariachi music in the video.
