Bores Hits a New Low. Attempts to "Own" a Hater

For those that have PM'd Bores in the past, most of the time all you'll get is a 1-2 word message saying "awesome" or "looks good". Like he never actually read it. This was very apparent when FFL2and3rocks sent a PM saying IG was his inspiration. What Bores didn't see was that it was identical to the message he sent AVGN 3 years ago to try and earn his good graces. Bores response to it? "awesome" On a rare occasion, Bores will actually respond to a message. There are two notable responses from the past. The first was sent to an anonymous user and mirrored by LuizPrower and BigAl2k6. This user was originally a fan, praising him for his work. Then out of curiosity he asked if he stole from the AVGN. His response was something like "I DON'T STEAL FROM JAMES! JAMES STEALS FROM ME! GO SHOVE A KAKTAS (sic) UP YOUR ASS!" Ouch, that could have gone a lot better.Eric Allen and "iratefanboy345" said that message was fake. Nobody believed them. I'm unable to find the original message since Luiz lost his videos to a hacker, and BigAl's first account was removed. The second was sent to a user called "TheIrateDefender". A 13 year old brat that believes the only possible explanation one could hate Bores is "he's an AVGN wip-off" and he created an account to prove IG is "innocent".The message sent to him said "I won't acknowledge James because his friend is a poopy-head, he posted my e-mail to him thus they're both poopy-heads." Well, it wasn't that immature but it might as well have been. Newsflash Bores, Mike posted that letter by himself. James had no say in it, he's too nice to do something like that. And now, we have a new message sent to nuclearneo577. This one is an absolute gold mine of incrimination. This is not fake. Bores actually sent this as a response. Let's break this down shall we? Note that the last message from NN577 accused him of stealing from AVGN's Chronologically Confused video for his Final Fantasy III review. "FF3? wtf are you talking about?" Come on Bores, you don't remember your Final Fantasy III review? It's one of the only Neo games you actually beat. Granted you had to cheat... "you know what, forget it. I'm sure whatever you have to say will drop my IQ at an alarming rate." So nothing about your intelligence will change? "You bitch about the most nonsensical things." POT! KETTLE! BLACK! "I recall shooting the duckhunt (sic) dog in my review months before james (sic)" When did James do that? Are you referring to the NES Accessories review? That is a horrible comparison to make. You shot the dog in your review of Jaws for no reason other than "Dur hur hur random are funny". The Nerd was looking over the various accessories on the NES, one of them being the Zapper. The most well-known Zapper game is Duck Hunt, it makes sense here. Plus, you used custom sprites likely found on Newgrounds and cropped it into real life. James "shot" the dog in the game, even though it was futile. Speaking of Newgrounds, what gamer from the 8-Bit generation DIDN'T want to shoot the dog? There exist flash games with the sole purpose of killing the dog. It's not stealing if it's a common fact. "using game sprites to interact with the real world months before" Huh, that was the exact same thing "iratefanboy345" said in his video. That James stole that concept from Bores. Further proof that iratefanboy345 was a sockpuppet and that Chris Bores is scum. "and I also recall doing a documentary style review of mario (sic) 2 with satan (sic) showing up at the end way before his documentary style review of mario (sic) 3 with satan (sic) showing up at the end." You're a fucking idiot. First of all, documentary style? Nothing about that review was close to "documentary", just because you called it a scandal doesn't make it so. AVGN's review wasn't even like a documentary, he reviewed a movie in order to set-up reviewing a game. As for Satan appearing, that is reaching. Far more than saying the AVGN rips off seanbaby. Bores put Satan in his review for no reason, unless you count the intro to Zombies Ate My Neighbors but there was no reason for Satan to show up. James wanted to find a clever way to review Super Mario Bros. 3. He came up with "so good it's a sin" and built it from there. He went out of his way to find Satanic imagery and show off his film-making skills. Something Bores doesn't have. Hey wait a minute. Remember in 2009 he said "I haven't watched AVGN in 2 years?" Meaning he stopped watching in 2007. Then how does he have knowledge of videos that came out in 2008? Both the Super Mario Bros 3 and NES Accessories videos came out early 2008. Bores, tell the damn truth. "So really dude, you've been owned so bad, it hurts. you fail. *facepalm*" You didn't even come close to owning him. Why are you talking like this? And "facepalm?" Try to look somewhat professional would you? In fact, the only one "owned" is you. I just debunked all your arguments and lies. I mean, saying the AVGN steals from you? You're an asshole. What I don't get is, Bores knew he was talking to a hater. Yet he still responded like this. Didn't he consider the repercussions, that this message will obviously spread? He's not only an ass, he's a complete moron. Thanks to nuclearneo577 for getting this.

  1. Wow, I can't believe he could sink so low. But I'm not surprised.

  2. Thanks BatDan. I had no idea that what I got from Bores was the stupidest thing that he said, I must have got lucky. If I did know, I would have uploaded it earlier. If James Rolf sees this, he will probably do an AVGN style rant in real life.

Also, does anyone have any alt Youtube accounts that have not been blocked by Bores? If so, we should spam him with requests of really good games to get more people to hate him, like MegaMan X (that would piss me off the most).

    ReplyDelete
  3. As I said in the previous blog entry - Bores just hit a new level of low. Some might say that he was just pissed and didn't think about the repercussions, but this had to be done. Only by infuriating him we (Well not we, but hopefully thousands of people) will see the truth. The fact that he doesn't watch James' stuff - lie. With all the examples you can pretty much come to the conclusion that he is watching him even now (Of course he does). The fact that he doesn't care if people call him a rip-off - lie. I just love how he doesn't just insult the assailant, but starts accusing James (Yes, the whole thing was about him stealing from James, but if you chose to go by "I don't care about AVGN" then you do not go snitching like a child). Oh and as I said before - using Internet lingo like "OWN3D"/Facepalm/WTF in a serious message that is supposed to proof his innocence and show his level of professionalism? Real fucking nice...

  4. @nuclearneo577 What good would that do? BatDan said he rarely reads/responds his PMs. I don't think Bores even listens to requests. We'd just be wasting more time. Besides, I think the people who do like him will learn the truth eventually. I know I did...

  5. @digiharrisom

Well he found out that Tekken 6 was a fighting game from emails, so maybe that would work.

Also, his fans have a horrible taste in games, in the comments section of the second part of the Mario Is Missing/Mario's Time Machine "review", someone wanted him to do Super Mario RPG. And some other idiot said the he was willing to let him borrow his games. I hate his fans.

    ReplyDelete
  6. @nuclearneo577

I was thinking of another plan. Maybe someone could just expose his stupidity further in these PMs. Instead of flaming him or calling him a ripoff, they could just say stuff like:

"Is it true 'Turtles in Time' was only made for the SNES?"

    Or something like this:

"I didn't know the Genesis was made in the early 90s to compete with the SNES."

    Or even better:

"I like your 'Fist of Fury' joke on your 'Predetor' review. Did you come up with it yourself?"

I wonder what his replies will be?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Even if he did borrow it he'd most likely have no idea what to do and would say it sucks because its not what mario "is about" going into a tirade simualar to his sonic one (Speed, speed, and more speed).

    ReplyDelete
  8. @nuclearneo577 I don't think his fans have played any of the Megaman games, let alone Megaman X. And even if they did, they'd still believe Chris and think it's a bad game, just like Contra.

"I recall shooting the duckhunt dog in my review months before james"

Because nobody else wanted to shoot the dog from Duck Hunt! It was totally original when he did it! Seriously, it's almost as stupid as saying James ripped him off because he compared two games... Oh wait, he did.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @vicviper592

    Good idea. Lets do it.

    @Motherplayer

The guy who requested Mario RPG was different from the guy who was willing to lend Bores his games.

    @A guy from France

I know, but the MegaMan fanbase would hate him too, just like when he pissed off Tekken fans by "reviewing" Tekken 6.

Also, if Gotgame feels like wasteing 300 or so more dollars, Bores can review and beat PSP games because of the new PSP Action Replay. That means that he can finally beat Castlevania Symphony Of The Night (it must be too hard for him). If he joins PSP ISO, I am so going to get the Mods to ban him forever.

    ReplyDelete
  10. He should take acting lessons from the guy who voiced Dracula in that game.

"What is AVGN? A miserable little pile of plagiarism!"

This reminds me I have to finish the epic adventure "Chris:The Faces of Plagiarism"

    ReplyDelete
  11. One note you could mention about the "Duck Hunt" dog is that in the arcade version, titled "Vs Duck Hunt", it is possible to shoot the dog, but only in a bonus stage. And yeah, shooting the dog ends the bonus stage.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I remember you weren't suppose to shoot the dog but no one could resist.

    ReplyDelete
  13. For someone who makes half-assed videos, he really takes any offenses seriously. At the very least, these are cases in which he really acts irate.

    @vicviper and Shaolin Dave
That dog can also be shot in Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, if my memory serves right.

    ReplyDelete
  14. To be fair, he probably understood my message but just didn't want to say much.

    ReplyDelete
  15. "So really dude, you've been owned so bad, it hurts. you fail. *facepalm*"

Better watch what you say or I'll use my eight years of kung fu on you.

    ReplyDelete
  16. IG doesn't personally reapond to his messages. He hired different people that respond.

    ReplyDelete
  17. If he doesn't respond,at least I guess he reads the messages before sending them

    ReplyDelete
  18. Just when I thought Bores couldn't sink any lower, he manages to find a way. And by the way, whos the d**k head who requested Mario RPG? Well, since Bores is taking requests, why not review Lufia the Fortress of Doom, or Chrono Trigger, or Megaman, or some other good games that would get him torn apart?

    Untill next time

    ReplyDelete
  19. @vicviper592
Ah I didn't know that. Thanks.

    @imaolmao
    Haha you think that's true.

    ReplyDelete
  20. In the interests of fairness, the Jaws video ends with a dedication to anyone who ever wished they could shoot the dog, so he probably did actually know there were a lot of people who wished they could do that. It was still out of left field, though. And he still does a faggy little dance walking away from doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @David
Well, that's true, but I wouldn't call it a valid explanation. For example: A person who's never seen any Star Wars movies, but knows how much people hate Jar-Jar can easily do the same thing (Kill him) and "dedicate" it to "hardcore gamers" or in this case "hardcore SW fans" even if he himself doesn't know jack shit about what he's talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You know, that little dance was actually funny

  23. when I compared this douchebag to the giant panda, I forgot to mention he (like the giant panda) rips of his name from something better than both of them, Chris the AVGN, and the giant panda, the red panda. also, both Chris and the giant panda don't live up to their second names(panda means bear cat). Chris is not even a gamer, but he sure is irate( that means so much of a douchebag that his piss can clean a vagina, right?) I don't think he even deserves his last name bores, pigs are the only animal besides humans to be able to play video games and the stupidest pig is smarter than this shit head. By the way BatDan, sorry about the length and crappy grammer this paragraph has.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think I remember my little brother PMing to Chris Bores (yes this is true my brother's Youtube name is SmashBomber12345 and he let me use these replies sorry if i don't know how to post the images of the replies), asking why he gave negative review to many good games if he is supposed to hate bad games (and suggesting that he should be renamed to 'Ihategaming') and Chris Bores replied back by saying:

"it's called satire for a reason"

My brother responded back by saying:

"if you were satire, then why do you destroy every game you play and rip off of every game reviewer and claiming it as your own?
STOP RIPPING OFF THE AVGN YOU AS$HOLE"

    Chris responded:

"wait a min. Everyhtign you've said has been said before by other haters?
STOP RIPPING OFF THEM OFF YOU AS$HOLE"

    Brother responded:

    "you spelled "everything" wrong

oh, and the other haters rip off of the other haters

oh, i'm blocking you from my channel"

I got frustrated from the fact that Chris Bores lied and insulted my brother, but I quieted down now. Well, what do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  25. @smashhackerz
Just capture the images and upload them to an image hosting site like Photobucket or Imageshack. Then take the image's URL and post it here.

... Satire, is he fucking serious?
Chris, what kind of logic is that? We're ripping off other haters because we say the same things? Get a damn clue.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The weird thing is that when Chris says "STOP RIPPING OFF THEM OFF YOU AS$HOLE", it sounds like he is defending the haters. The logic of this is hurting my head more than a human bot fly eating through my brain.

@BatDan Sorry, i didn't realize the steps of posting urls to pics from the post before. I might do it eventually. So what game can we trick the "Ihategaming" to do?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I had a thought a while ago about what will happen if the Irate Gamer review the first Super Smash Bros. Knowing the Irate Gamer, he will say that he don't hate the game but will contradict himself near the end of the review, complain mostly about the minimal amount of characters, stages, and the graphics of the games while comparing then to Melee and Brawl, and at the end of the review, he will try to destroy the game but then Master Hand appears out of nowhere and try to destroy him but Irate Gamer shoots him with an NES Zapper with the stock explosion effect and the review ends at here.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Don't forget staring at the camera after killing Master Hand.

    ReplyDelete
  29. What about Starcraft 2? o wait he "dislikes"/sucks at strategy games, only games that will cause large backlash is probably any of the Touhou games, wait has he reviewed any FPS games at all?

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Azin
I don't know, how many people know about Touhou's existence? If a lot of gamers don't, neither does Bores.

On the other hand, I am surprised he never reviewed FPS.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I imagine him reviewing Super Street Fighter IV and saying it sucks because "It's not Mortal Kombat"

He hasn't reviewed an FPS yet. I kind of hope he bashes Halo Reach, the fanboys will have a field day with that.
Halo fanboys are near the top of the hierarchy of batshit-insane-drooling-fanboys, up there with Sonic fanboys.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Polo
Hmmm true but check out CNN Bad apple and look at the rage it caused

    @Batdan
    Same thing with COD fanboys

    ReplyDelete
  33. @BatDan

Well, he already pissed off most of the fighting game community with the "Tekken 6" review. I doubt he'll ever touch "SSF4". But I did heard on a comment on Bores 3-in-1 trailer that he rather play "SSF4" than "Tekken 6", because he can button mash.

Um, Eddy from the "Tekken" series always gets picked on, because he's masher friendly.

And if he did talk about "SSF4", at least he won't bitch about the Japanese voices, since English voices is set on default. Unless he's a dick and might set the voices to Japanese and then complain that the game's only in Japanese, just to "expose" the game's "flawls".

As for Bores reviewing a FPS, someone here said that he got Bores to review "Wolfenstein 3D" in the future. If so, Bores could just review the bad SNES port and not the other good ports (Jaguar/3DO/PC/XBox Live).

    ReplyDelete
  34. "But I did heard on a comment on Bores 3-in-1 trailer that he rather play "SSF4" than "Tekken 6", because he can button mash."

Really? I've been playing both games recently, and I think it's easier to button mash Tekken 6 than Super Street Fighter IV, even without Eddy or Christie. Not to mention, I don't think it is possible to win by button mashing in Mortal Kombat (at least in the 16-bit games) unless you're playing against the computer on the Easy setting. Then again, the catch phrases like "Toasty!" are probably the only reason why he likes Mortal Kombat.

Also, what's supposed to be satirical about his videos? It's the same "excuse" used by NC17 and al4488: "My videos aren't supposed to be taken seriously, therefore I have the rights to insult great games for the dumbest reasons, even though it's not funny or entertaining!"

    ReplyDelete
  35. "only games that will cause large backlash is probably any of the Touhou games"

That train of thought is only applicable in Weaboo Land, I'm afraid.

Bores said that to cover up the fact he's a casual player of fighting games, and it's the most gimmicky of the bunch to boot (to be "extreme" and all, LOL). He obviously liked the fatalities and the like because it was hardcore and all that nonsense. Oh, and BatDan? Good job. See, if you can actually deliver quality posts, then you automatically shut me up. ^_^

  38. "when I compared this douchebag to the giant panda, I forgot to mention he (like the giant panda) rips of his name from something better than both of them, Chris the AVGN, and the giant panda, the red panda."

    Er... okay? LOL.

Was this post made by a zoologist or something? If so, why compare the poor panda to Bores? It's... kind of random. I mean, we all know Bores sucks, but... a panda? The only thing I could come up with that is your comparison sucks as much as a typical Bores video, LMAO.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Gatuca

For the people who don't know, the video was originally made by Cloud8745. I found the video more educational than Chris Bores' "review". At least this sort of debunks Bores' idea that Toad is useless. I think.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I've never been one for Mortal Kombat. I can respect it's impact on gaming culture, but it just never clicked with me. Always preferred Street Fighter over the two.

Amongst hardcore fighting game fans, the Mortal Kombat series isn't held in high regard (Perhaps due to the mediocre quality in recent games). Least that's what I've heard. The Tekken series on the other hand is considered one of the best.

Oh and Pandas are great. Especially the babies, can't resist the urge to hug the little guys ^^

  46. *reads through second image and retches* None of that letter was edited, none of it was incriminating until YOU stole from his TMNT review.

And AVGN enjoys your videos? Horseshit.

It's nice to know he's had that "100 other people" excuse for a while. I'd like to know who these people are.

Also, in that first message he admitted that he took down videos. "If I took it down, it would say 'y2b productions'". You don't admit that!

"I got it.Chris Bores thinks he lives in Bizarro World."

Hey, So that's the reason why he Thinks that Good Games are Shitty Games, Why he thinks the Konami Code is Infamous as opposed of Famous, why he thinks the 1st TMNT got "Overwhelming Backlash", as opposed of Praise (yeah i know, nowadays TMNT on the NES is considered a Cheap Bad Game, but hey, it was TMNT and back then it was the shit), and how he said in his original version of the tekken review that many people agreed with his opinion, when in reality he lied about that.

yep, that's explains it for the most part.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Gatuca

Off-topic, but why do so many people care so much if a video game from the past that they loved has aged well or not? It's like those people keep judging it by today's standards, expecting it to have the exact same level of quality as today's video games. This also applies to movies and TV shows from the past: Don't judge it by today's standards, just enjoy it for what it is.

Yes, as you can tell, I really hated that gameradar article ("Games we Once Loved, but now we Hate"). And I have a right to hate it. It's like all the author of that article did with the games that he listed was judge them by today's standards, instead of just accepting them for what they are.

    @Hector:

He's out of tune with the real world is what his problem is. He expects everyone to like him and whoever opposes him gets blocked and if they make videos opposing him they get removed if he has the energy to find them. Creative criticism my ass. He probably doesn't know the meaning of that. And now he's saying AVGN rips him off. Ha! Laughable I say!

    ReplyDelete
  53. He may be able to accept constructive critisim but he sure doesnt know how to use it. Its like he keeps these things in the back of his head until he acually gets the review ready. Then you notice nothing changed. If he really wanted to be true about saying that he would take the advice in better stride. Nothing has changed from this guy. Its still the same inaccurate facts and terrible grammar hes been spewing out ever since he first graced youtube with his show (or his site).

  55. Tisk. Tisk. Tisk. No respect for the classics. I feel sorry for this generation of gamers. They're nothing but whiny little tit suckers. Always expecting an easy challenge and never respecting the classics getting brain-washed by pretty colors and and digital realism. And when a company makes one mistake the loyal "fans" turn their backs on them. For example, Rare. They had a very loyal fan base until they went to Microsoft. Then they started to lose fans when they didn't meet their expectations. The games they made for 360 aren't really that bad unless you're familiar with pinataisland.info and enjoy building vehicles. Then, there's Kinect Sports. A lot of canceled games that looked great, but were scrapped because of Kinect. That's when fans turned their backs on Rare. They couldn't even wait until after Kinect Sports to see what they would come up with next. Just look here http://mundorare.com/news/2010/07/mundorare-closes/ *Sigh* I really do fear for this generation.

    ReplyDelete
  56. On a different note IGN says they're going change their 100-point review scale and instead add a more typical 20-point scale. So now the scores will compromise of numbers like 7.0, 7.5, 8.0 etc. Do you think this could improve their site at least somewhat BatDan?

    ReplyDelete
  57. @Nicolas
I don't know. I'm not a fan of graded reviews, I don't need a number to tell me if something is good.

    ReplyDelete
  58. @Gatuca

Agree. Goddamn the list wasnt even thought out well. They just made a bunch of BS complaints. Giving a game from the late 80's flak by comparing it to perhapse todays standards. I mean I can respect an opinion and all as long as it seems logical by they didnt even seem to know what they were talking about half the time. While I do think most RPG's these days arent as good as they were before (sometimes) that doesnt mean I will hate nor stop playing them. And for god sakes bashing the atari because it was too simplistic? Compared to what pray tell? The PS3 or something else that came out circula 1989 or later?

    @Batdan
You never should take graded reviews very serious unless its for a second opinion. Thats about it. Like for example take Etrian Odessey which got a 6.5 from Game Informer. Didnt stop me from buying it and enjoying it I'll tell you that.

It's shit like this that makes you look like you have your face entrenched into AVGN's ass.

Speaking of which, AVGN just made a very bad pick on his part by picking on Zelda II. It's a fun game that James clearly loves, so he really had to stretch for jokes to make fun of it here. Fans who were insisting on it are morons.

"No respect for the classics. I feel sorry for this generation of gamers. They're nothing but whiny little tit suckers."

You actually like teh werehog, you cheat using Game Genie, and you basically called Spoony, Benzaie, and AVGN pussys (sic), so your opinion is automatically invalid.

Okay, let me demonstrate how hypocritically and monumentally stupid that sounds. It's like James Rolfe or Michael Rideout of Swordquest fame saying that the video games and tabletop games from their childhood eras suck, back in the day before they were born, street games and tops were the shit. It's ridiculous.

This is (for lack of a better term) retrofaggotry at its very core. You have your own childhood. Cherish that childhood and the games that's coming out right _now_ instead of living out the childhood memories of other people. It's sickening.

Dude, who says people who were born in a later generation can't like retro games? I know plenty of people my age who love games from the 90's and earlier on! Is it a crime for me , a 16 year-old to love games like Chrono Trigger or Megaman 2?

    Just asking.....

There's nothing wrong with liking classic games. It becomes sad when you begin disparaging "your generation" for their modern tastes just because you want to jump the retro bandwagon. Imagine how ridiculous it would be if back when AVGN was fifteen, he would loudly complain to his friends how games like Chrono Trigger or Megaman X suck when compared to old Atari classics like Pitfall, Sword Quest, or Adventure? Sounds a bit off, doesn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  64. The new AVGN was average, but I have to say,the ending is one of the best moments of the whole show IMO

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah, I enjoyed the new AVGN. It helps when I played Zelda II.
I love the game, and his complaints were valid (especially going back to the North Palace every time you get a Game Over, that's annoying).
The ending with the Power Glove was indeed awesome, it seems it only works when it feels like it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. "You actually like teh werehog, you cheat using Game Genie, and you basically called Spoony, Benzaie, and AVGN pussys (sic), so your opinion is automatically invalid."

What does liking the Werehog have to do with respecting the classics? I like the new things they're doing with Sonic as well as the old classics. I called IGN pussys because they're some of the most biased reviewers on the internet. Benzaie, Spoony, and AVGN actually give honest reviews even though I don't agree with them sometimes. The Game Genie is classic and like I said I've never used that fucking thing.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I personally don't mind when AVGN does straight-forward videos. That is, after all, how he started out.

My big concern, though, was that he used the Glitch Gremlin from his PREVIOUS video in THIS video. I hope he doesn't become exactly like The Irate Gamer Show, and X-Play during most of its period on G4 (by either example, I mean whoring out of side characters)

Daniel, what would you say is the best Zelda game ever made? I'd say "Majora's Mask" on the N64. Unlike most Zelda games, which were typically about saving the Princess, Nintendo tried something different with this one. They decided to give the game a much darker and bleak feel, unlike Ocarina of Time, which had more of a light-hearted feel. MM was about stopping the moon from destroying the world in 3 days, while at the same time, also performing lots of sidequests, hence why this game only had four dungeons, and was called "Zelda Gaiden" in early production stages.

It seems that when Nintendo made this game, they took the happy mask trading sidequest from OoT and expanded on it greatly for this game as the main quest (collecting 24 masks), and added lots of other sidequests as well. This game also had the most amount of heart pieces to find in any Zelda game (52), and I still know exactly how to get all of them!

But what I especially liked about "Majora's Mask" was that they actually gave Child Link the ability to use stronger and longer swords, Bow/Arrow (plus fire, ice, and light arrows), hookshot, and Mirror Shield, something he didn't have in OoT. It seemed that Child Link got stronger and flexible from OoT.

    ReplyDelete
  68. @vnisanian2001

I have the exact same opinion about Majora's Mask that you.A great game.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I've always enjoyed Link to the Past the most. It just felt... right. It felt like they got everything down perfectly.

Though I do enjoy OoT, Twilight Princess, Link's Awakening, the original, Zelda II, and the Oracle games.

  70. "What does liking the Werehog have to do with respecting the classics?"

It's the same tactic that this blog uses with Bores, actually, in that "If this is your tastes and preferences, how the heck are we supposed to take you seriously?" type of argument.

"I like the new things they're doing with Sonic as well as the old classics. I called IGN pussys because they're some of the most biased reviewers on the internet."

    All reviewers are biased.

"Benzaie, Spoony, and AVGN actually give honest reviews even though I don't agree with them sometimes."

So are you claiming that IGN was being dishonest with their reviews? Explain.

"The Game Genie is classic and like I said I've never used that fucking thing."

LOL. Yeah, it's a classic, all right. Reminds me of that link in this blog about the Super Mario Brothers 2 video where the guy says, "Real gamers cheat!" or some such, I don't remember, LMAO.

    ReplyDelete
  71. "I love the game, and his complaints were valid (especially going back to the North Palace every time you get a Game Over, that's annoying)."

The P bag joke and the other skits were a bit forced, but the complaints themselves on the hardness of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link are okay. They're accurate, but observations by themselves don't equal comedy anymore ever since observational comedy became old hat.

AVGN missing out that "Swastika" is actually the Buddhist Manji symbol is a bit of "Did not do the Research" action as well. The episode was average, but not as facepalm-inducing as the Glitch Gremlin episode or the second Bugs Bunny one (where he barely even talked about the games).

    ReplyDelete
  72. "All reviewers are biased"

    Meh.

"It's the same tactic that this blog uses with Bores, actually, in that "If this is your tastes and preferences, how the heck are we supposed to take you seriously?" type of argument."

So, basically, we can't take you seriously because you hate AVGN right?

"So are you claiming that IGN was being dishonest with their reviews? Explain."

They're always dishonest. Like in their Mario Super Sluggers review. They gave it a good score, but said it was the same game they played three years before which I disagree with since there's more characters and a longer challenge mode. Don't forget the inclusion of Day and Night options as well as more stages and better music. In my opinion it was an improvement of the last game.

    ReplyDelete
  73. @anon4488

I liked the glitch episode, what was wrong with it?

It's still a swastika. It makes perfect sense because it's the symbol for Nazi's. It's not something that needs researched to find out it's buddhist crap. The reason we say IG doesn't do his research is because the research is about the GAME not some Buddhist crap!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Also, he didn't make a bad choice to review Zelda II. As he stated in the beginning, he says he gets requests for it, but some people think it's a great game. He happens to like it, but he's doing it based on what he didn't like about it.

I actually laughed out loud at the Link holding up stuff joke. I know it's been done in various forms many times, but the way he executed it was hilarious.

Also, I feel things some he said in this video will be perfect if someone wants to do a "AVGN commentates on IG (fake)" video.

    Like:
"Who cares, it's a fantasy land"
    "Challenge is a good thing"
"The game should get harder in incrimates"

    ReplyDelete
  75. By whoring, I meant using them in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. For example, when AVGN reviewed Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu, he used shit pickle as a side character, and never used him again until his Action 52 review.

At least AVGN knows what subtly. Bores doesn't

Chris Bores: "Wat da fawk is a subtly?"

    ReplyDelete
  76. I found myself enjoying the review too. I used to hear stories on how the game was bad to some and good to others. After that review I just may pick it up because while it does have it quirks, it looks like it'll be an interesting game to play. I was kinda hoping that after he turned off the T.V. the game would've went off too just to add to the hilarity of the scene. Also after seeing that review I will most likely need to have alot of patience for the game (which luckily I do have).

    @vnisanian2001

    I wouldnt worry about that.

And congrats BatDan on all the extra followers. Woot!

    ReplyDelete
  77. While it was fun seeing the Glitch Gremlin again, I hope that's the last time we see him.

Next month I'm hoping he reviews an actual bad game. Like an episode dedicated to games based off Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.

    Thanks motherplayer.

    @Slow
Say, that sounds like a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  78. It was good, but the intro was weird. Why did he included footage from Skyward Sword?

Then again, the AVGN intros always have something weird, like that shot of him holding Mischief Makers.I can picture his fandumbs going:
"Duuuh,so you think the new Zelda is a shitty game???"

Overall,it was a good episode, and it had some funny moments. The enemy-listing gag went for too long, though

    ReplyDelete
  79. @batdan

I don't think it should be the last time we see him. I think it will be a great addition to the show to have a part of certain episodes talk about a certain glitch that was very well known. Or something like that.

Like if he reviews Donkey Kong Country in the future, the glitch gremlin could jump in and make Donkey Kong rape Gray Donkey Kong.

I mean, not in every episodes, just in certain episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  80. @Slow

I don't think he will review DKC.Everyone loves that game,so... .Maybe in a "Game Glitches 2" episode. A lot of stuff was left out.

    ReplyDelete
  81. @ Héctor

Well, the only bad games he talked about this year are Action 52 and Cheetahmen II. Anything is possible, he might do a tribute of the Donkey Kong Country series like he did with Castlevania.

    ReplyDelete
  82. It was funny that Dark Link was hard for him. I actually suffered with Thunderbird more.

At least he still uses the gremlin in an appropiate way (doesn't stop him from being annoying though).

For me, the glitch episode lacked some games to try glitches on. Definitely, that deserves a
    second video at least.

    @Slow
FYI, the swastika was used as far as Hinduism existed (possibly even earlier), which is older than Buddhism. So of what "buddhist crap" are you talking about?

  84. I see nothing wrong with the glitch gremlin. He's funny to me. And about the flute bit, in Pokemon R/B/Y you had to use a Poke Flute in order to wake up Snorlax when it was blocking your path. The Nerd seems to avoid using Pokemon references a lot. I can't remember one time he's actually mentioned Pokemon. The bit with walking around and not knowing what you're up against, that totally could have called for a Pokemon reference! I don't even think he has a Pokemon poster in his room. Perhaps he doesn't like the series?

    @Hector
I hope he does too. I was really hoping for Glitch city from Pokemon Red and Blue as well as MissingNo.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Oh, and that scene with the Power Glove totally nailed the review. Hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I think James should have waited before using the Glitch Gremlin a second time. When Shit Pickle showed up in the Action 52 review, it was funny because it was unexpected.

But when Zelda II started to glitch, I immediately thought of the Glitch Gremlin because the last video was about him, so it kinda ruined the joke. IMO, his cameo would have been better if it was a reference to an old episode.

At least Chris waited one year before using Ronnie a second time... even though he overuses him for no reason nowadays.

"The bit with walking around and not knowing what you're up against, that totally could have called for a Pokemon reference!"

Why? That was pretty common in JRPGs, it wasn't new in Pokémon. In fact, Final Fantasy III/VI came out before Pokémon.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oh. But a small reference wouldn't have been bad. When you're talking about random battles like that Pokemon is a dead giveaway. If you're a fan of the series of course.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I can't see James making a Pokemon reference, at all.
Pokemon Red and Blue came out 1998, I think he was finishing High School/Starting College and had little time for video games. I doubt he's played them.

The most we'll get out of him are those "Movie Quote of the Week" videos.

And yes, random encounters are common in RPGs. He even brought up Dragon Warrior/Quest and that predates Final Fantasy III/VI (hell it predates the series).

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yeah, games like Final Fantasy were a little before my time so I'm not too into them like some people. Still, Pokemon is a great series and people should give it a chance before assuming "oh this is a baby game". Never judge a game by its boxart. It may be more advanced than you think.

    ReplyDelete
  90. @a couple of people

I didn't mean that he would do DKC, I was just using it as an example.

Also, I agree he should have waited to do the Glitch Gremlin again.

  91. @digitalharrison

Considering that most people recognize Pokémon from the anime rather than the games, I'm not surprised why they don't want to touch the franchise, not to mention to whole "Gotta catch'em all" slogan.

    ReplyDelete
  92. @polo_sc83: Well the first half of the anime (Generations I-II) was awesome. If you're talking beyond that point then I understand. I still don't see what's wrong with "Gotta catch'em all". Either way, Pokemon will always be a classic in my book.

    ReplyDelete
  93. "Meh."

    Which means I'm right.

"So, basically, we can't take you seriously because you hate AVGN right?"

But I don't hate AVGN; I criticize him for what he has become nowadays. Big difference.

"So are you claiming that IGN was being dishonest with their reviews? Explain."

"They're always dishonest. Like in their Mario Super Sluggers review. They gave it a good score, but said it was the same game they played three years before which I disagree with since there's more characters and a longer challenge mode."

So if you disagree with them, then that means they're being dishonest? That doesn't make sense. This is just you whining, "How dare they not have the same opinion as I do!"

So they're dishonest because you disagree with them?

  94. "It's still a swastika."

    You'd be wrong. Research plox.

"It makes perfect sense because it's the symbol for Nazi's."

The manji isn't a swastika. Swastika is of another origin. You also didn't do the research.

"It's not something that needs researched to find out it's buddhist crap. The reason we say IG doesn't do his research is because the research is about the GAME not some Buddhist crap!"

That's very ignorant and very unlike AVGN. Because he says it's a swastika, fanbrats like you will now think it's a swastika even if it isn't, hence "Did Not Do The Research".

    ReplyDelete
  95. "Yeah, games like Final Fantasy were a little before my time so I'm not too into them like some people."

Oh man, you're the very epitome of a pretender. It makes me shake my head every time you try talking about old games as classics because obviously, you have no idea what makes them classic; you're just riding a bandwagon. Keep silent if you don't know any better; without AVGN, emulators, or the Virtual Console, you wouldn't even be playing old games.

"I see nothing wrong with the glitch gremlin. He's funny to me. And about the flute bit, in Pokemon R/B/Y you had to use a Poke Flute in order to wake up Snorlax when it was blocking your path."

You're forcing Pokemon references in places where AVGN won't be using Pokemon references. Besides which, he'd already said everything he can say about the Pokemon franchise with his Movie Quote of the Week on the first Pokemon movie.

"I was kinda hoping that after he turned off the T.V. the game would've went off too just to add to the hilarity of the scene."

I hope his next video doesn't rehash old jokes from his older videos. If I wanted to see a Power-Glove joke winning a game, then I'd watch the Power Glove episode.

    ReplyDelete
  96. "I liked the glitch episode, what was wrong with it?"

He would never have reviewed it if it were not requested. He _likes_ the game. What next, him reviewing Super Mario Brothers because some newer fans don't get it or suck at it?

...On that note, I would love to see Bores review SMB and bash it though, if only to see his subscription account drop from the hatedom he'll create out of gamers who know better and, well, retroidiots.

    ReplyDelete
  97. "Oh. But a small reference wouldn't have been bad. When you're talking about random battles like that Pokemon is a dead giveaway. If you're a fan of the series of course."

Ugh. No, just no. This is like a World of Warcraft brat claiming that Warhammer Online is ripping off WoW. Or a Dungeons and Dragons brat claiming that a Lord of the Rings reference should be replaced with a D&D one because it's more suitable.

Please, you're embarrassing yourself almost as much as the guy who said that modern gamers who don't get classic gaming sucks even though he wasn't even born when most of the "classic games" he's talking about came out.

    ReplyDelete
  98. "So if you disagree with them, then that means they're being dishonest? That doesn't make sense."

Nooooooo. Ask anyone else here and they'll tell you the same things about IGN. They don't know how to rate games. They gave the Wii & PS2 version of Sonic Unleashed a better score than the PS3 and 360 because of the graphics and the fact that the hub worlds were text based. So what they're saying is they like the Wii and PS2 versions because they're easier. They barely even mentioned the 360 and PS3 versions had more extras and interactivity. Well they did mention the towns they complained about it being too hard to find out what happens next. Say, this concept sounds familiar to me. Could it be like in RPG games like Pokemon? Why are they just now complaining about it? Besides you had to walk around towns and hub worlds in Sonic Adventure and they didn't complain about that. THAT'S what I'm talking about. They're always looking for an easy challenge. It's not just IGN either. Gamespot, X-Play, Metacritic, GameInformer (especially them), etc.

"This is just you whining, "How dare they not have the same opinion as I do!""

Or maybe they're basically saying that the 360 one has fake difficulty. Which is which?

I'm sorry, but I don't bandwagon. I think for myself and form my own opinions. The only ones who are affected by what IGN thinks are sheep that have an "If you're with us, you're against us".

"You pretty much described yourself here the way you reply to everyone and twist their words."

It's kind of more applicable to you because your opinions are more based on what the crowd likes than what you yourself likes, and though in order for you to have an informed opinion, you need to go with the flow of whatever everybody else is saying. Here's a tip: Think for yourself. You're welcome.

  101. He just uses random footage for his intros.

Like that scene where he puts a Neo-Geo cartridge on top of a scale, yet it was never put into an episode.

Hence why people were calling you out on the Pokemon references; the mere hint that "random encounters" are a Pokemon thing didn't sit well with a couple of people. You were out of your element there, buddy.

"My brain was too undeveloped for strategic titles like Final Fantasy. Hell it took me 5 years to learn how to play Pokemon correctly."

Just to make things clear and to avoid any possible Strawman arguments, IMO Pokemon is a good game, especially the first one where there's a literal Elemental Rocks, Papers, and Scissors going on. It's just too recent of a game for a retrogame lover like James to reference; I'd give it ten more years before it's considered "old" enough for retrogamers to reference.

"I know more about classic gaming than you think. You don't have to be born in the 1980s to know how classic gaming was done. You don't need emulators either."

If you think all it takes to appreciate classic games is having consoles, eBay, and reading up, well... read up on it some more. The assumptions you make is kind of Bores like in the sense that, "Hurr durr, all I need is consoles, camera, and wikipedia, and I too be gamer! Derp derp!"

  112. "If you think all it takes to appreciate classic games is having consoles, eBay, and reading up, well... read up on it some more. The assumptions you make is kind of Bores like in the sense that, "Hurr durr, all I need is consoles, camera, and wikipedia, and I too be gamer! Derp derp!""

I really don't know how to explain myself more. Oh wait,

"Though, in fairness, you at least appreciate both the games of the past and the present, so you don't look like a, well, retrowanker as the Brits say"

YES! YES! You finally understand! Listen, I'm sorry if I wasn't being clear before, but even though I can't be considered a gamer of the 90s I still appreciate retro gaming as well. I may not know EVERYTHING about video game's past, but I do know if it wasn't for the past we wouldn't have the games we love today. I don't care about what reviews say. It just makes me mad when they focus on one debatable flop and that suddenly makes the whole game bad. I mean let's face it, we all have different opinions. It's all a matter of accepting them and making valid arguments. No just "this game sucks because it gets harder the more I play!" I may not be as hardcore as everyone else here, but I don't just settle for anything. Have you seen some of the Wii titles in stores these days? THOSE look like hand-me-downs. The sad part is some people are actually stupid enough to buy them. The most I play on the Wii aside from Nintendo titles are from higher class third party companies like SEGA and Capcom. And not all gamers born during this era are all bad. There are a few who know what they're talking about. It's just people like Bores who make our childhoods look like jokes. So now I hope you know where I was getting at and I'm sorry for all the harsh words and I hope we can become.....friendlier towards each other. We both hate Bores. That's a plus. So what do you say? Truce?

God I love that commercial. Well if you must know I'm 15.

  113. Chris Boring's eyes are scary...is he possessed by some low life wannabee game guru demon? This guy is not funny and even when he would tell a joke that actually IS funny it wouldn't be, because his facial expression is all messed up. It's like when you put one photo as an overlay on top of every other picture you have, with the same facial expression included in all cases. So, when one is laughing the person still looks the same. You can compare this to Steven Seagal. He always looks the same. But with Chris Barebacker it's even worse.

  117. i just read the raping that annon put on those kids
damn im surprised you guys arn't too butthurt
and he is completely correct about you bandwagon jumpers
i love the retroretards that try to claim history although they were never there
i only own and play consoles that i was born into
hence i dont play atari and shit like that
the farthest back i can really enjoy cuz i grew up with is genesis and super nintendo
i wasnt around for the original nintendo my cousin had one but i was into my genesis and it's kinda disgusting to have a bunch of little retards pick apart games i loved and also little retards posing around as fake ass retrofans
its just a ridiculous thing to claim
i know you guys want to stand out from the rest of the pack but you really dont know why these games were good unless you were around for them
just because you bought the games on ebay doesnt mean you know and enjoy the classics

  119. considering that this fool (whom I pity) is saying that he is the good guy, he's stupid.

and if he isn't already, and just trying to be idiotic for giggles, he is hitting the mark so hard IT HURTS.
