I know I haven't updated in a few weeks, and that's because Bores hasn't updated in a few weeks. Just that same terrible Sonic Lost World "review" where it felt like he didn't even play the game. Just watched a Let's Play of it and claimed it made him motion sick. He really shouldn't be playing games with all the times he complains about motion sickness.
"But what about his site?" I gave up on that. He's never going to post real news, just random crap very few people actually care about. I mean, a machine that butters your toast? Powerpuff Girls cosplay? Who the hell cares?
He even posted an article from The Onion. He does realize The Onion is satire right?
We're near the end of the year, I guess I should start compiling the Worst Moments. Can I even find 10? He did so little...
Maybe if he didn't waste all his time posing as his mother and actually worked on content, then maybe he wouldn't be bleeding views. I know people like to point out his subscriber count, but that means nothing if they don't watch your videos. He has 146k subscribers, but his Sonic Lost World review only has 11k views, and that's after three weeks. There's clearly a major problem here.
EDIT: An anonymous source has shown me something interesting.
First, here's a Kotaku article from November 19th discussing the latest update of Project M (an expansive SSBB mod). http://kotaku.com/the-best-smash-bros-mod-around-is-getting-all-sorts-of-1467683908
Next, here's IG's article also discussing Project M, posted two days later. http://theirategamer.com/super-smash-bros-wii-mod-coming-giving-old-game-new-stuff/
LOOK FAMILIAR?!
Nice to see that Bores is still partaking in plagiarism after all these years. Don't even try to defend this, this is fucking exact. Even the picture is the same.

I'm surprised Bores hasn't reviewed Skylanders Swap Force yet considering the game came out October 13 in North America, a whole month and a half ago. Has he simply forgotten about the game? Or is he afraid to upload a review because of the fact that his fans are sick of Skylanders-related videos? Considering all of the Skylanders accessories and figures videos he has made within the last two months, I doubt the former option is true.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's waiting to get the PS4/Xbone version to review it. If he knows the consoles exist, that is. He STILL hasn't posted a single thing about either console on his blog. One would think he'd be begging in his articles to be given a PS4 given how well it's sold. Which, for the uninitiated: 2 million consoles total, (half the current Wii U install base, by the way, the first million all on the US launch day alone) and UK sales outperformed UK Wii U's LIFETIME sales in 48 hours. Is that not worthwhile news for Mr. I-Want-A-Gritty-Zelda-Game?
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteJust another instance of him talking the talk, but not walking the walk
DeleteI do believe that is truly irony that bores got hit with. Funny how the year of luigi actually did what it was supposed to which is to bring some life back to nintendo's consoles. While bores couldn't drum up anything.
DeleteYou could always downsize it to a list of his 5 worst moments. 10 would be pushing it, considering he's done maybe 10 things all year (once we discount eating, sleeping, pissing, etc).
ReplyDeleteThe broad strokes this year were TIGG, his ghost movie, and I suppose the site redesign. But there were some typically crappy reviews along the way, and E3 certainly qualifies for a Worst Moment. Also dumbass contests and soooo much Skylanders crap. You can squeeze out a full list of 10, but it'll be easier if he gets his next, storyline-ending review up in December- man, that's gonna be bad.
ReplyDeleteWell, I know I probably shouldn't do this but he is actually starting to infuriate me. Jonathan has been posting ratehr tasteless comments yet again here is one of them.

Speaking of people with the Autism Spectrum taking things literally...
Yeah he thinks saying something like this is funny. Of course this is the same bigot who said this sickening comment.
ITT: Jabba survived Ovarian Cancer. :D Whatever tumor he had must've been well-fed, to the point that even it ended up overweight. :D
It gets so much worse with him by the day. Jdup crush him like the insignificant bug that he is.
Well, right now I'm just sitting back and letting Google and IC3 deal with it. I've been updating the IC3 with new stuff that he's been doing, so basically everything he's said and done they know about it.
DeleteFor those who don't know, IC3 is the Internet Crime Complaint Center, which is basically a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center.
So, yeah, I'm just going to let them handle it.
Currently, I had a long school holiday. That means I won't be seeing those damn students or eating foods on Canteen.
ReplyDeleteWell we can always contribute to the double think page
ReplyDeletehttp://irategamerdoesnotsuck.wikia.com/wiki/Double_Think
Now with Stalin versus martians music video!
Reading that Onion post, I'm sure that Bores is aware that the newspaper is satirical. This is just another go at leeching off a much better comedy site.
ReplyDeleteThe Irate Gamer Reviews the Irate Gamer Game (Part 1)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Epl4Y475AI
RIP Nelson Mandela
ReplyDeleteBatDan, why don't you work on a Redux Recap of the Home Improvement review? You've been putting that off for a year now.
ReplyDeleteHe just won't do it because of his "lack of motivation", but I'm having none of it. So, we all must join together in motivating BatDan 'til the cows come home so he can actually get around to finally doing that Redux Recap of IG's Home Improvement review.
DeleteBesides, I want to hear BatDan's thoughts on the actual game itself. Yes, I know JonTron did a review on the game, but I don't care about JonTron.
Well here's my review of home improvement
Delete1. Sonic style health system is stupid. You can hold up to 100 bolts if you exceed that it resets to ZERO and gives you a 1up and generally at a time when you'd most likely need to take a hit but you can't because the game emptied your bolts and now you're dead
2. The X button should not be responsible for 5 goddamn functions
3. Pressing X and down causes the jackhammer to be used... it does not kill blocks but it will kill ants if activated in advance.
4.Pressing X and left or right will result in a close range sledgehammer attack which is worthless for fighting (sorry but the main character is not serious sam) while pressing X and Up+any other direction will cause a grappling hook to be launched. The grappling hook cannot attach to rock and can only attack to firm green tiles (attaching to a decay tile will just result in you briefing getting attached and then breaking the tile).
5. The nail gun or the chainsaw are the only weapons in the game worth using. The flamethrower and electric gun is difficult to aim, and upgrading it is useless
6. Upgrading weapons can be done by picking up two of the same powerup or simply picking up two powerups in a row where the second one will be upgraded. Upgrades are lost if hit
7. levels are way to maze like and the characters moves to fast to adequately allowing the player to realize he's spiraling into a pit. Some enemies are so small its hard to see them.
8. Enemies are too hard in general, even when you see them it takes way too much effort to kill them. Ants require you to use the jackhammer as you can step on them (i.e jump on them) and not only that but killing them with the jackhammer will cause you to uncontrollably bounce which can get you killed. Dinosaurs are freaking damage sponges, you literally have to spend 5+ seconds wailing on them to kill them. In a game where you limited by time there certainly are a lot of time wasters here.
8.The time you get for beating levels is moderate but the number of enemies and the placement of crates usually makes the level much more difficult then it needs to be.
9. Crates are often placed in hard to reach areas (no shit) and to further complicate matters, some paths will lead you back to the beginning of the level but these paths take skill to reach!
Judgement: This game needed a goddamn manual. The buttons to use and weapon upgrades can be freaking hell to figure out. The nail gun starts firing fucking kunai's if you upgrade it. The flamethrower (also the electric gun) just gets bigger and the chainsaw. When the difficulty of the game isn't about whether or not you spot the enemy and kill them from long range where their dumb AI won't get you, its clear you've made a game that isn't particularly fun. The concept was fairly good though.
Weapons found: Chainsaw, torch, electric gun, dynamite, flamethrower, nailgun.
DeleteUpon further playing the game, I found that the game required you to use the grapling gun in bionic commando esque jumps. It is incredibly difficult to do this as the jumps go way too fast, camera is unhelpful and in addition the game put a fucking dinosaur right at the ledge you are expected to swing. OH and the dynamite I found was totally fucking worthless. I would like to point out that you need to press up and X to get the grappling hook to launch and the grappling hook travels slowly so its possible for you to launch the grappling hook but still fall anyway. And you'd better not accidentally jump on top of the platform you're supposed to swing from because that gets you stuck!
DeleteReached egyptian levels. Boss of the jungle was... not fucking interesting. Now the ants are replaced with beetles, dinosaurs with snakes and scorpions, they both do the same thing fucking thing. Levels are as death trap ridden and obtuse as before. Deepghoul do you like this game?
DeleteBeat the egyptian boss... it was... not challenging. Reached castle stage. Enemies are different but generic. I quit this game sucks
DeleteWell, I have played Power Tool Pursuit all the way to the end without cheating and knowing where all the crates are. BTW, the final boss looks like Master Chief's head, and the big plot twist at the end is that the missing tools was a massive test set up by Al and the kids for Tim.
DeleteBatDan, please make that Home Improvement Redux Recap, because I wanna hear YOUR thoughts on the game, not anyone else's.
It looks like they thought that having a show-related joke was more worthwhile than making sure players knew what to do. Also, they knew they needed things like dinosaurs to make this concept interesting, so why'd they adapt the show in the first place?
DeleteReminds me of how the biggest complaint against Wonderful 101 was that there were plenty of INTEGRAL features that the game or manual never bothered explaining to the player. Supporters defended this as an "old-school gaming experience". Yeah, there's a reason WHY games stopped doing that.
True, but there's always hacking, because there is a patch that gives the game a slower timer, four lives, infinite continues, and easier controls:
Deletehttp://hg101.proboards.com/thread/10218/game-club-199x-home-improvement?page=5
I can already guess the excuse this time is that the video is moderately shorter and he doesn't have all three. Problem with that is if you take something word for word, which is what he did he only changed a small part at the beginning not enough to constitute in his own words. Also he was too stupid to add in the other two trailers but left the sentence involving them.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that his excuse about not being an AVGN rip off; he isn't one because he can't act, can't write and therefore stolen lines and concepts aren't plagiarism because he did it poorly?
DeleteI find it hilarious there was a period of time where we agreed that Chris Bores stopped plagiarizing and that it wasn't a big problem anymore. I don't think the problem ever left, it just got more obscure.
Funny how he also pretty much used the same lame excuses he Constantin has used before yo justify his actions. Also he used a rather idiotic excuse for one of them. Specifically he said that Bores can't have plagiarized since he hasn't been sued for it. Also his "proof" for you and lasersquad being the same person is that you both used double-think to describe something. Funny how he also says something pretty much xenophobic. Basically he was confused about lasersquad commenting on the Thanksgiving holiday and specifically said that Canada's education system sucks, giving a celebrity as proof of all things, and pretty much confused where Thanksgiving is celebrated.
DeleteWow I'm guessing those comments will be on the blog? Because lots of people use the word double-think.
DeleteWell the thing I have noticed about Jonathan is he tries to sound logical while clearly trying to go for emotional responses from people. Thing is he also pretty much rapes any logic he uses. But seriously how in the world does this moron not realize that only North America celebrates Thanksgiving. It's just Canada does it a month earlier then the United States. In fact that little line of thinking of his could go to prove him wrong about lasersquad.
DeleteChris posted an article about Amazing Spider-Man 2. I know it's not that much of a big deal but me being a huge Marvel fan, I'm going to go over it:
ReplyDelete"Boy this thing looks like it has more villains than you can shake a stick at."
Like Spider-Man 3 except the idea of having more villains in one movie could get worse because you need enough film time to develop each character and give them enough depth and not rush it! I'm going on a limb and say for the record that Spider-Man 3 disappointed me. Why? Because they had everything completely wrong in the movie. The first two films I acknowledge but the third had me writing a book on what was wrong with it:
- Sandman (Flint Marko/William Baker) was never married nor did he had a daughter named Penny. In the comics, he was close to being married but never had that chance when he got his sand powers. He did at one point had a girlfriend named Marcy Conroy but after finding out that she was with another lover, he went on a killing spree and killed the new lover.
- Sandman encounter Peter's Uncle before he was shot NEVER happened in the comics.
- Sandman is supposed to be a cold blooded killer. Why in the movie was he acting so completely innocent of the crimes he's been doing?!?
- Venom appeared...for 20 minutes without speaking in the plural 3rd person as he was has been in the comics! That pissed me off!
Moving on...
"Harry Osborne, mecha-Rhino, Electro, Green Goblin, whew, anyone else?"
- Harry Osborne is the Green Goblin! Come on, Chris, You should know that this film is based around the Ultimate Marvel universe. Even I know this since I've read the comics. Just like how Samuel L. Jackson is Ultimate Nick Fury while David Hasslehoff played Original Comics Nick Fury for the TV movie "Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD."
"The trailer at least eludes to more villians in the future."
Doc Oct, Vulture, I am diggin this!"
- You mean DOC OCK?!? There's no Doc Oct (I looked it up and it's not listed. Even the comics I read have none). If you said Dr. Octopus, fine but Doc Oct?!? That does not work. Besides, seeing Doc Ock and the Vulture in the next installment could lead up to the live action appearance of the Sinister Six: Doc Ock, Electro, Vulture, Sandman, Kraven, and Mysterio.
"What a cool angle to go about this."
- Just hope it doesn't suck.
Am I going to see Amazing Spider-Man 2? Maybe...or wait until it comes out on DVD.
TASM Universe sucks. The first TASM was unbearable, it wasn't Peter Parker. It was just some dude who was smart.
DeleteI really don't look forward to the sequel. I wish they could've just kept Raimi's universe, it was the closest we got to a good Spiderman adaption.
On the one hand, I thought Sandman was rather interesting in that movie. On the other hand, it makes me wonder why they didn't make up a villain for that role. Name appeal, most likely.
DeleteBlade I completely agree with you, a lot of people diss Raimi's universe because of the 3rd movie which was pretty.... stupid but the first two are very enjoyable. TASM's Peter Parker isn't even close to what it should be. I hate it.
DeleteSONY were idiots for rebooting the franchise. I thought SM3 was okay. If it didn't have Venom or Peter Parker Emo I think it would've been good. Its a shame they threw away all the potential of that series, everyone except Venom were perfectly cast.
DeleteI also don't get why people hated the third movie so much that they somehow felt the need to reboot the movie franchise. I thought it was ok. Granted I don't read the Spiderman comics and I didn't think they really did Venom justice, but I still thought it was enjoyable. The first Michael Bay Transformers movie on the other hand, which came out the same year, was the biggest piece of ass-raping, deer-fucking mind-sodomy shitfest I've ever seen in my life, yet it seems like I'm the only person who feels that way about it.
DeleteEveryone else who felt the same way didn't bother watching it in the first place. They heard about from people like you, realized how not transformers it is and then decided to not see it.
DeleteI always found the Raimi movies sort of weird and silly. See Willem Dafoe in the first movie, you can't distinguish between scary and just narmy.
DeleteBut after I discovered what Raimi did before(Evil Dead, that Hercules live-action series) , I think how NOBODY saw "Tobey Maguire dancing like a idiot in the middle of street" coming.
And about Transformers, Michael Bay makes every human character act like was high on caffeine as most he can. That's because Shia Labeouf is the protagonist and that's because Optimus Prime, a character that is known by being a cold-blooded leader, in contrast to Megatron, is killed by half of the second movie. and that's because Bay did a human-focused adaptation, because they can't make the robots frenetic as the humans.
I have an update:
ReplyDelete"Nothing new going on and I"ve about had it with Google+ and this UTube marriage! Ugh!!! I'm at the point to stop posting for good on my channel! They always have to ruin a good thing, never fails. Hey guys, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Take care all :("
ITT: he can't keep managing 2 accounts. look at it this way Chris, less aggravation for you to deal with :D
Probably the best thing to happen out of Google+: Poor Chris can't sockpuppet anymore. Boo hoo :3
DeleteAlso, where the heck else would he go outside of YouTube? I highly doubt anyone else would host his videos considering his history of awful work and plagiarism, something that most sites wouldn't let pass unlike YouTube.
"Chris Bores shares a similar stance on pollution as China currently does. It should be noted that China has (as of 2013) recently taken measures to limit its pollution while Chris has taken no measures outside of procrastination in limiting his excretions."
DeleteNow changed to
"Chris Bores shares a similar stance on pollution as China currently does. It should be noted that China has (as of 2013) recently taken measures to limit its pollution while Chris has taken no measures outside of procrastination in limiting his excretions. Recently, Google has finally addressed issue by preventing Chris from creating more excretions by limiting his ability to create youtube comments. It is estimated that the beneficial effects will be widespread and that hundreds of lives have been spared."
This maybe more than a little off-topic but considering who is involved and who follows him I think it needs to be said. Alex Jones has said some things about Mandela that are less than flattering. He actually said that apartheid was the white tribe trying to protect itself from the black tribe. Alex Jones has tried to hide that he was racist before but this he cannot hide from. Buggin you are going to a dark place if you continue to follow someone who justified apartheid of all things.
ReplyDeleteThat's...disgusting.
DeleteI can now see where 'Buggin' gets 'her' anti-AVGN cult personality from.
Aaaaaaaaaaand just posted a comment telling the article's writer about Chris ripping them off. Now we play the waiting game...
ReplyDeleteI sent her a tweet myself. Apparently she tried to sue Suda 51 over some sort of offensive material in Killer is Dead, so if she's the type to do that, I'm looking forward to seeing what she'd do about everyone's "favorite" game "reviewer".
DeleteAlso, someone should save a copy of the website in case Chris takes it down.
DeleteTo late, he already has.
DeleteWill these do?
Deletehttp://s1363.photobucket.com/user/MicharionAQ/media/bandicam2013-12-0523-51-43-738_zps84b3fe34.jpg.html?filters[user]=137359238&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=2
It's still there.
DeleteAside from those screenshots, I've also saved a copy of the site.
DeleteI love how someone in the comments still tries to defend Bores when the evidence is right below his comment.
DeletePersonally, I can still load Bores' SSB Wii mod page (or should I say 'plage'), but maybe that's a cache issue. I say it's time for Dan to start a new thread/entry/page/topic.
ReplyDeleteMy list of the worst Bores moments of 2013 (sorry, couldn't find ten):
ReplyDelete1.) His boast of 2013 being "his year", when he barely did anything
2.) TIGG being hyped up, only to be pulled out of the iOS store in three months due to how crappy it was, from the graphics, to the sound, and especially broken controls
3.) His movie not getting an audience in Toledo despite hyping it up with an interview from WUPW (the city's Fox affiliate).
4.) Any of his E3 crap, including the video where he "warps" from Nintendo's conference to Sony's and then to Microsoft's.
5.) Masquerading as mommy every time someone speaks negatively of an Irate Gamer video, regardless of who uploaded a video, especially in relations to him (such as the cases with brentalfloss' e-begging spoof and 8-bit Eric's review of TIGG)
6.) All of his reviews of 2013, especially his Star Trek 25th Anniversary one
7.) Claiming he's making a news site, yet he treats it more like a personal blog, and reporting pointless shit that's been done better on other sites
Ha ha, definitely agree with number one. He says that 2013 is his year, then proceeds to do even less than he's ever done any other year. It'd be sad if it wasn't so funny.
DeleteThe release of TIGG and the removal from the store could actually be two different moments. The creation of the "news" site could be one, while specific posts (like the recent one that was 100% copy-pasted from Kotaku) could be considered a moment all it's own. I think posing as Linda has been on previous lists, maybe this time the list should include the times he was caught-red handed.
DeleteThe failure of TIGG is my top moment. I will have to think of the others because of how inactive he's been.
DeleteHey another example of the fan dumb forcing the writers to go back on decisions: Family Guy is bringing Brian back
ReplyDeleteSaw it coming. Why bother with making a character likeable when you can just bring him back! Genius, now we can offend even the audiences who gave a fuck
DeleteSo even making him die was completely pointless now that's he coming back. All this really did was piss off thousands upon thousands of fans.
DeleteI was largely indifferent to that. It wasn't even a show I was following. I haven't really thought that highly of it after its revival since the 2005 cancellation. I put a lot more energy into thinking about schoolwork and playing my Pokémon Y game.
DeleteIs this even a surprise?
ReplyDeleteDon't know if anyone has seen this or not.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.raregamer.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?tid=810
Wonder if they even know that the game is no longer available?
It's possible they took Chris' false word for it when he said the game would eventually be available again.
DeleteThese guys were being sarcastic when they said IG created more memorable characters than Disney right? RIGHT?
DeleteI think they're being totally sarcastic. its in the non-gaming forum
DeleteThe game was made with the Commander Cool starter kit, which doesn't support selectable characters or DLC.
DeleteModifications to the source code could accomplish this, but I wouldn't count on it being done.
There's so much more that could be done to the game that would be so much easier and more rewarding, but the developers have neither the skill or work ethic to pull it off.
For example, in the game you can't shoot while jumping. That's easy. Modifying the source code to allow selectable DLC characters without fixing the jump/shoot logic would be like someone building and installing a new engine in a car when they don't even know how to change a tire.
There's the jumping and shooting, the ropes and ladders that can't be climbed, the almost complete lack of enemy AI, the buggy and missing graphics... I'm sure there's 100 things more pressing and easier to fix before DLC should even be considered.
Games like aliens colonial marines and Xcom the bureau got DLC way before they were good playable games (aliens colonial marines was... yeah and Xcom the bureau had poor ally AI and nonsensical damage system). Besides its Chris Bores, there's no dissonance in making another attempt to cash grab. If anything Chris Bores would lose face if he didn't cash grab.
DeleteThat said, there obviously isn't going to a DLC because that would take effort and it would also mean that Chris and Mad Media would have to fight apple to get their shitty product back online. Considering that Chris broke his arm buttering a slice of toast, that leaves just Mad Media to fight for it. Mad Media has already gotten paid for their work and have absolutely no reason to fight for a product that isn't selling.
If the game for some reason comes back the DLC starts selling then this is my reaction
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVpg0vws10Y&feature=g-u-u
Alien Colonial Marine? That the best you can think of?
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA3vijm17Bs
This is Ride To Hell: Retribution, and it got a DLC at release!
You win!

I am crying tears, I am crying tears!
The amount of subscribers you have dont' mean shit.
ReplyDeleteDarkSydePhil has 147,000 subs, and he's lucky to get 2000 views a video.
I still prefer Chris to him though. At least Christ isn't a cunt to his fans.
That's assuming you don't count encouraging fans to troll others, being hostile to fans that think differently, and running scams as hostile actions. To be honest, Chris Bores could decide he wouldn't run anymore scam contests but it doesn't change that fact that he is building an unhealthy relationship between his fans and himself. To be on good terms with Chris Bores, you pretty much have to say nice things about him and negative things about AVGN. Chris Bores literally jumped on lasersquad as soon as she said she hacked me (it says so on the relevant article). Chris Bores may not be public with his encouraging behavior, but it doesn't change the fact that he is definitely encouraging fans to take actions that literally isolate them and make them more dependent on support from Chris Bores.
DeleteThat said, unless Chris Bores gets into let's play and starts a metal gear solid 2, or a witcher 2 or an Xcom enemy unknown playthrough, I don't think Chris Bores will be as nasty to his fans.
Also one last thing, I don't think DarkSydephil needs youtube views since people are supposed to be watching his stream feed or some shit. So that 2000 is just people who didn't see it when he premiered it. It would make sense anyway, 2000 isn't exactly money and since this is darksydephil's only source of income... he clearly needs to be earning money somehow.
I should hope not, given that Christ's whole shtick is being pure and good to people.
Delete...Ha ha, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
CHRIS BORES AND THE MEANIES
ReplyDeleteTL;DR: He was using sockpuppets and being an ass 14+ years ago!
In 1999, Chris was into Meanies: "A Meanie is a type of bean bag in the form of a stuffed animal toy. Unlike Beanie Babies, the Meanies line is humorous in nature, and were made to target a younger audience than Beanie Babies, usually by relying on bodily function and gross-out humor."[1]
If you were a Meanies fan, the place to go for online discussion was the Official Meanies Meanie Club (OMMC) Yahoo group.[2] The creators of the Meanies knew about the OMMC, participated in live chats with its members[3,4] and sometimes sent them special notes[5], cards[6] and other gifts[7].
Amazingly, the OMMC still exists. About a quarter of the messages are under one large thread --- only the first 160 or so characters of those messages are visible. But the rest are still complete.
At the bottom of Bores' old Geocities page discovered by Shaolin Dave[8] appears the email address bixler23@yahoo.com. Well, the OMMC is Yahoo, and only used Yahoo accounts at that time, and bixler23 is there!
On January 12, 1999, in one of the aforementioned Yahoo chats, Meanies creator Lance Kushner had this pleasant exchange with a 20-year-old Chris:[9]
topdog_if says, "Hey - what were your least favorite characters?"
bixler23 says, "boris the mucosaurus was dumb, i hope you shot the designer of him, hahaha"
He also spent most of the chat session saying "hahaha" over and over again. Some of the other members didn't appreciate it:[10]
"I agree with you Roadkill...
oadkill, you are exactly right it shouldn't be a big deal. Bixler, you did sound rude... I even thought so. You may not have meant it to be but, it did sound"
One more bixler23 gem:[11]
"FREE MEANIE?? OW!!! Meanie world is sending out free meanies??? I want one!!! GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!!!"
The name "Chris Bores" then appears in this post by meanielover on February 23, 1999:[12]
"Please read
t has been brought to my attention that some of the members of this group for some reason or another, associate me with Chris Bores and therefore partially..."
User meanienut, one of the group's founders, responds:
"Meanielover and all From the Founders
his club was organized to bring Meanie lovers together in a friendly atmosphere; a place where we can promote Meanies, sell buy, trade, chat and have some fun ..."
Full text isn't available on the posts referenced so far, but we can see that bixler23 and Chris Bores have generated negative energy in the group. It's unclear whether they knew Chris Bores was bixler23 at this time. (And I think meanielover is also him, but I don't have proof on that one... yet.)
Chris soon re-appears as louis_dot_com, sometimes signing his posts as "Louie" and sometimes "Louis." (Interesting note, Linda's middle name is Louise.[13]) He asks questions when he already knows the answer[14], is unable to follow simple directions[15,16], starts his own website when the group already had a great website and the only response is from Piratejacko who I also believe is him (again, no proof on that one)[17,18], and later just generally behaves like a negative ass once the Meanies excitement begins to wane[19].
Okay, the grand finale. Chris, as louis_dot_com, posts for the final time on March 7, 2001:[20]
Delete"IT IS I, BACK FROM THE GRAVE!! BIXLER23!
It is I, the ghost of Meanies past to give you a Bixler years-in-review for I am also a survivor with the founders!! I've seen it all and lived the legacy with the greats, Grandma Reno, the founder: Meanie world, Eezee, the Peanut butter guy, Hudson. You see I've been there since the beginning and the Meanies world is not complete without me. I've lived through the great times of Meanie glory with the first Interview with Lance Kushner and the dawning of the meanie, "Hudson Duck!" (For those of you that remember that one, hehe) I was there to eagerly await and posted pictures of the second set. I was there to uncover the shrouded mystery of MSG's Pirate jack and watch the whole scandel unfold as the first one sold on ebay for 500.00 (And with all the help and exposure I gave Piratejacko, he never made me a deal with a one like he promised but in turn made a deal with Meanielover slapping me in the face on a side note.[21]) I even helped get exposure out to Meanie lovers everywhere of a guy that was selling them for 100.00 each. That was fun. I was there to report the Elton John Meanies that never made it and I was there to pick the brain of Lance to reveal some future secrets in the chats. I was even trying to track information about the hidden rejected Meanies like, Kenneth Starfish, Marv Albatros and Spike Flea. I was also there to watch Glenn give his speech on the Sally Jessie Raphael show, and to enthusiastically hear of the Lucky 1 and half. But those days are now gone, for the last set dwindled down to 7 and the Halloween bears became a poor selling set as well as the 2 Christmas ones to follow. Lance and Glenn jumped ship and all we have now are the memories. Good memories that made Meanie Collecting Memorable. So to all those fellow old school Meanies Clubbers out there who remember me, we had our quarrels in the middle of Meanies history, but now it's time to move on and let bygones be bygones. Cheers all and thanks for the memories.

eezee74 (who is also meanienut from earlier) makes a great response:[22]
"Re: IT IS I, BACK FROM THE GRAVE!! BIXLE
Well, Chris, we always knew when you were here and truthfully we often discussed your many ID's. But we felt as long as you didn't attack anyone why not let you stay. We knew you were an avid Meanie Fan and we understood your zeal in that area. While we didn't often approve of your methods of operation we tried to understand. I think you need to feel you accomplished more than you really did but be that as it may, if it makes you happy then boast about your so called accomplishments. We have not carried grudges winthin our club against anyone. I think that is why this club has remained the only one that can count. Meanieworld established this club as a fun place to collect Meanies and where we could buy, trade and sell, and exchange information. She insisted that courtesy, and integrity ruled in our meanie family. The mutual respect we have among us is what makes this club so special. So, Chris, aka Bixler, now is the time for one of your famous scoops. Lay some of that Bixler only information on us. What about the Meanies? What is happening? We are all listening...........The Founders"
I'll let all that speak for itself.
P.S. In case it hasn't been mentioned before, bixler23 is yet another YT sock used by Chris, now dormant for several years[23]. And finally, there was a user at the OMMC named iratetoyman54[24]. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Chris, but I do wonder if the name stuck in his mind and he thought about it later...
Thanks for reading. :-)
"What a story, mark."
DeleteAnd so it seems that Chris has a history of doing this... that's nice.
DeleteLook at the comments from Bixler23's channel. You'll see that he makes the same typing mistakes like he does on Ladybuggin, and shows just how hypocritical he really is.
DeleteHey wait a second... would this mean that Chris Bores is autistic? I mean there was PDD-NOS but quite frankly he seems to think himself the best source of information (and the biggest fan) in whatever he's interested in. Chris Bores loves angry reviewing, calls himself the best dude in field and sets up sock puppets to cover his ass. Chris Bores loves meanie balls, calls himself the base of all information, then gets pwned when critics go into his base and kill his dudes.
DeleteAlso note the similarities between his AVGN letter and the meanie balls farewell letter. They both reek of 'I'm not sorry' and 'I'd totally do whatever it was that got me in trouble again' as well as 'here's hoping to don't press charges'. Also loads of lying and probably misrepresenting the degree at which he is at fault.
@Mr.Kill Ultra I dealt with an eerily similar personality recently... tons of sock-puppets, including impersonating real people and members of the opposite sex... conversations and even arguments between the socks... not following through with promises, always moving on to a new thing... posing as the expert/biggest fan after only a couple of days in the field... inability to have a normal conversation, delighting instead in trolling... never, ever apologizing or showing remorse... etc. He blamed his actions on Asperger's, although IMO he crossed into sociopath territory. Sociopaths are usually a lot slicker than Chris, but Asperger's would not surprise me.
DeleteHey is everyone all up for a plagiarism section on the wiki? I'm sure Egon eagle will be okay with as long as it doesn't explode into flaming and fighting.
ReplyDeleteWell, if it means exposing more truths about Bores, then yeah, go for it.

DeleteThere is a new section now. Who's Sisyphean now!?
Y'know, I've been thinking, does the PS2 have the best games library ever, or at least in the sixth generation? I mean, even if there are some bad ones, it does have the most notable games, I could think of several good exclusives for the console, like Silent Hill 2, GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War 1 and 2, Devil May Cry 1 and 3, Final Fantasy X, Tales of the Abyss, God Hand, Okami, Persona 3 and 4, MGS 2 and 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, 3 and 4, Ratchet and Clank, Up Your Arsenal, Going Commando, Jak and Daxter:The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2 and 3 and many more I could think of at the top of my head. Now, with all that said, it's no wonder the PS2 lasted as long as it did.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I do believe that the PS2 has one of the best, if not THE best, games libraries ever. Many of the games you mentioned, plus when you add the Kingdom Hearts series, Radiata Stories, Final Fantasy X-2 and XII, Baldur's Gate:Dark Alliance series, Gran Turismo, and the Devil May Cry series, I mean, how can you argue that it doesn't?
DeleteThe only possible one that I think might have a chance of beating it out would be the SNES game library. That's just my opinion though.
In my opinion, you can't beat the awesome library of the dreamcast and the xbox library was no slouch either.
DeleteGames for dreamcast like project justice, gundam side story, starlancer, armada, alien front online, Bangai-O, house of the dead 2, dynamite cop, power stone 1 and 2 (the latest ports for psp and vita have loading issues), sega marine fishing, the sonic adventure series, Zombies revenge.
I don't really need to list xbox games simply because well practically every shooter and mech game would be on there + Daisenryaku and shattered union.
PS2 ran for a long while because it has a lot going for it. It runs DVDs, it has average graphics (compared to its opposition) and the Japanese loved it for its visual novels. This made playstation the console of choice for RPGs and continued into the PS3 (don't quote me on this!).
But let's derail the topic in favor of the best and longest running console ever, PC. XD
Guys! Guys! Baby Metal!

I'm gonna get me some justice!
Welp, youtube has officially gone cancerous. You know that whole content ID match debacle? Youtube itself has now started to implement it. Most of the time the companies do not even match the friggin thing in question. Either google is testing it in the most idiotic way possible or something else is going on.
ReplyDeleteWell, after seeing around for a few things guess who came up as one of the ones that caused this mess. I'll give a hint. His name is usually shortened to three letters. If I give any more it will be too obvious.
DeleteLet me guess-- those three letters are RWJ, right?
DeleteOkay, maybe not as obvious as I thought it would be. It's DSP, remember how a lot of people complained that he was just doing this for the money and it showed. Well, now he is trying to say that his stuff is fair use but he is pretty much screwed.
Delete"guess who came up as one of the ones that caused this mess"
DeleteHow has DSP caused a content ID crisis? Isn't he a victim? Isn't this google's fault or Google's bots fault?
Well, you know how he pretty much said he was in to making the vidoes for money? That is part of the reason, true google is idiotic yet again about this. But the thing is he is nowhere close to being a victim, especially if you've seen him freaking out over it. True this will affect LP's but like with the Nintendo thing before the people who would get most affected don't really care. The videos aren't getting removed and a lot of the companies that have the stuff in question are trying to help out as much as possible. Sorry if I can't really explain things Larry Bundy Jr. does a way better job of explaining this than me.
DeleteWell here's the school I thought I subscribe to (roughly)
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHLh0Y9zT0w
Well, youtube has always been more than a bit screwy when it comes to things. Thing is most peoples solution is to go off youtube and to another site. Which would then most likely be hit with the same problem. DSP and a few people from Machinima tried to game the system, so to speak, and now the system is fighting back. True it is idiotic for youtube to say that all the moeny goes to the publisher, which does not make any sense considering the developer should get money out of it too, but considering google I doubt that bit is ever going to get changed.
DeleteI'm loath to say this because I know folks are going to perceive it as being pro-business, but I feel like it really needs to be said just the same.
DeleteRegardless of how we may personally feel about this as gamers, we have to recognize that publishers are acting well within their rights as they currently stand. We don't have to be okay with that, and in fact I believe that this issue brings to light flaws in our archaic copyright laws that could stand to be addressed sooner rather than later. However, the simple fact of the matter is that we can't sit here and play the victim and make overwrought appeals to emotion when we were never within our rights to monetize their intellectual properties in the first place. Simply put, the law doesn't care how we feel.
So hey, screw this guy and the self-serving rant that he disingenuously dressed up as concern for his fellow Youtubers. There are laws in play here, so what we need to do is get to work hunting down any legal precedent that would allow us to continue to do what we do. If that should fail, then we need to be prepared to challenge the law and fight to get it changed. Videos like this guy's may be very appealing to those of us of a like mind, but they aint gonna get shit done.
Sure complaining has affected change in the past, but there's a vast difference between say, getting a publisher to drop online-passes and forcing them to tighten their grip on their intellectual properties. It's just not gonna work this time.
Yes, I have seen that boycotts on anything will just simply not work this time since it will probably kill of the industry we are trying to protect. no what needs to be done is to attempt to change the law. Copyright law has become archaic.
Delete@Daniel
DeleteMy complaint isn't that the publishers can do what they just did (because let's face it, that's what happens when there's no one looking out for the middle man). But rather that there isn't anything preventing them from doing it. I mean there's nothing stopping businesses from making this a daily occurrence, from holding a monopoly over information, over let's plays, over other people. We even have DRM that prevents you from installing a game more than 3 times. The question to ask here is: are we hitting the slippery slope? Will we have DRM that bricks your computer? You may say, 'well no because the competitors won't and thus can't do DRM unless they want to fail'. But just look at the trend, EA goes after Let's players, Nintendo goes after let's players, I'm sure there's a bunch of other companies out there willing to go this direction too. Pretty soon it'll become a competition as to how efficiently a company can stamp out its let's play community. It might not seem competitive and useful to us the consumers, but clearly it seems like a competition to the big wigs.
Ultra there is one thing you seem to have glossed over about this. No company, that I know of, made youtube do this the claims that happened all said different companies and many of them didn't even match up between the company and what was matched. In fact considering all the factors involved it is a wonder what caused this system didn't actually happen earlier. While this is hard to say LPers generally did not have the right to monetize their videos but youtube let them. But here is the thing also the companies that youtube has for the content id claims are trying to get this resolved.
DeleteSo you're saying that inexperienced google team has fucked up the content ID system and its now gone sentient and refuses to terminate? As far as youtube copyright law goes, companies have been putting pressure on youtube to enforce copyright even though its the copyright holder's job to do that. Seems to me that with the current screw ups with the comment system, its entirely possible that google's youtube division just doesn't know how the code works.
DeleteReally needed evidence for that one? Hasn't it already been proven that google's youtube team knows nothing about what goes on? The thing is that this whole problem revolves around is an outdated law, there was no way for the people who made the copyright laws to have predicted something like this which is why the law needs to be changed.
DeleteWell I assumed that people aren't idiots but it seems life likes to prove me wrong...
DeletePeople are always going to be stupid that is why the laws have to change. If they stay stagnant people are going to find ways to abuse them for there own profit. DSP has proven time and time again just what some would do to abuse such a system. Boycotting in this case will only treat the symptoms and not the disease especially considering if people were boycott under assumptions it could turn out disastrously.
DeleteYeah its time to fix those decade old laws.

Come on smart people... do your stuff!
Micharion appears to have articulated what I was trying to say far better than I could. In fact he even touched on something that I wasn't aware of when I wrote that post. If in fact it turns out that publishers weren't actively shutting down Let's Play channels, and instead it was Youtube's automated system that was responsible, then focusing the blame entirely on publishers as the majority of us have done misses the point. We (Youtube personalities) can waste our time making hollow appeals to emotion that are only going to reach our respective audiences, or we can challenge the laws that make shit like this possible.
DeleteCopyright law is old and outdated. It needs to be brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century. If we're all seriously concerned with what Youtube is allowing to happen, then we need to be prepared to act. Like I said, sitting there on Youtube and whining aobut it isn't going to get the shit that needs to be done, done. And like Micharion said, if so many of us have the short view of things and are assigning blame to the wrong peaple, it's only going to treat the symptom rather than the disease. We can appeal to publishers to let us keep doing what we do, and many of them are okay with that, but Youtube is gonna keep flagging our shit just the same, and those of us who make their living doing this stuff are going to continue to be screwed.
I should probably avoid posting when I've been drinking. Peaple? Really?
DeleteBores has deleted my comment and the link to the Kotaku article from his website.
ReplyDeleteOh and you got to love this.
Deletehttp://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu202/Shankatic/BoresTheLiar_zps62025c8b.jpg
Yeah, no. Copying an article verbatim is in no way akin to forgetting to link your source. He straight up stole the article. What a knob.
DeleteMaybe he thought that since he could get away with blatantly stealing skits and lines in videos, he could get away with stealing an article. Haha, no. That's not how it works, Bores.
DeleteLet's take a look at this from his prospective, you just spent the entire day pretending to be your white knight and trying to own people by just copying and pasting what they're saying. You're lazy, and have absolutely no idea how to make an interesting video. Now there are people who actually want to see you do something gaming related because you didn't think things through because the angry reviewing bandwagon looked shiny. With all the crap written above who wouldn't be a complete loser and steal another person's hard earned work?
DeleteSo, hate to go off topic, but for those of you with smartphones, will you be getting GTA San Andreas and/or the remastered version of Sonic 2? Both are coming out tomorrow (at least on iOS devices), so I was just curious.
ReplyDeleteI plan to for my prospective new smartphone. They seem like good apps. They'd go well with new versions of the Sonic 4 and X-Men apps I had on my old one.
DeleteThe new version of Sonic 2 apparently has a zone restored that was cut out of the original, so I'd say it's worth a look.
DeleteI'd like to see it come to consoles like the awesome version of Sonic CD did (which was also done by Christian Whitehead, the same as this Sonic 2 port...), but I suppose the IOS version will have to suffice for now.
has anyone heard anything about bores @ the angels and aliens conference? just wondering

The picture doesn't even display the correct date. The blog says 18th but the picture says 8th! Chris can't even keep the doublethink out of his own articles! XD
Okay, in all seriousness, am I the only one who actually feels happy for Bores about this? I mean, assuming he isn't lying about getting invited, it's pretty cool that he's gonna be at a conference for something he clearly likes making. It's obvious that he really loves doing the ghost hunting stuff.
DeleteExcept its clear he didn't go. A google search shows that the last conference was dec 7-8.
Deletehttp://festivalnet.com/65903/Columbus-Ohio/Festivals/Angels-Aliens
That typo is either the worst mistake ever or Chris just plain forgot to film himself going there but its unlikely since he always does that. Plus let's not forget that there are far more interesting people there and I'd rather hear about aliens then ghosts. Also he mis-spelt the name of conference... "Angels an Aliens Conference"
Oh well hopefully he had some fun and is now considering to do actually ghost related videos as a career as opposed to running a piss poor excuse to troll people for a living.
Has everyone saw AngryJoe's Youtube Content ID Copyright Rant? AngryJoe states that 64 of his videos, from video game reviews and interviews at E3 and such including video game music and clips, have been copyrighted for Content ID. What does Bores think about this?
ReplyDeleteAll I got to say, Youtube has officially lost it.
I just saw on Facebook where 8-Bit Eric posted something saying that some company tried to put a copyright on one of his videos, but he won the dispute.
DeleteI don't know what to really think of this anymore. At this rate, with the way this is going, this is going to end up affecting Bores, AVGN, and literally any other Youtube user that has video game footage in their videos.
Personally, I think the fact that Bores seems to be putting more effort into his Pursuit of the Paranormal thing, rather than actually doing something with his IG videos, I think he may have realized that this is coming and is trying to make his ghost hunting thing work.
Problem is, it sucks. I mean we're talking worse than Ghost Hunters bad, and that itself is pretty damn bad, seeing just how far they've fallen. Personally, I prefer Ghost Adventures, mostly not just because it's entertaining, but also because you learn a lot of history behind some of the places they go to, which to me is just as interesting as the actual investigation itself.
But that's just my thoughts on it.
And guess who didn't wasted time on "responding" to Angry Joe?
DeleteHey guys! I found this guy on youtube who does gaming stuff. he's very new, and one of his videos he rips on the irate gamer and goes over his startrek review. check it out.

Anyone watch the (Green) Arrow mid season finale last night? Barry Allen turned into Flash!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah! As a huge comic-book nerd, that final scene had me nerdgasming. :D
DeleteThe only bummer is that they were supposed to expand on it in a later episode as sort of a backdoor pilot for the Flash series, but instead they decided to shelve that idea. They're going to do a standalone Flash pilot instead, which while cool means that we'll probably only hear about Barry in passing instead of seeing him in action on Arrow later in the season.
It's actually probably not a bad idea to do it that way, but I gotta say that I really wanted to see Barry as The Flash on Arrow all the same.
Hey BatDan, did you see the trailer for Tales of Zestiria? It's the newest Tales game, and it's coming out for the PS3 in all reigons. It looks pretty good, I mean, it's only a few brief moments, can't really get much from the little they showed, but I'm looking forward to seeing more. I just wish they'd make a Tales game for 3DS (not counting the Tales of the Abyss re-release, but a whole new game)...
ReplyDeleteI thought that Tales of Xillia 2 was going to be the newest one? I was reading a preview for it the other day, and it's supposed to be out in 2014.
DeleteI have not seen the trailer, but I did hear the news about localization. Namco is doing a better job at this than Square-Enix.
Delete@jdupkoski
Xillia 2 came out in Japan in 2012, it's coming to the West in 2014. Zestiria is a completely new, just announced game.
Ahhh. Ok.
