*stretches* Hey everyone. Did my American readers have a nice Thanksgiving?
But now that it’s all over, I better get back to Bores. Got quite a bit to catch up on.
I kind of pulled the trigger on making a post about his AssCreed Art Book video as he posted another video on Tuesday. More shitty tech reviews! At least the title indicates that this shouldn’t be another “Herp derp review dun gone wrong herp”
Wow! So many dislikes. Looks like that’s a clue Chris.
First item is a Power Bank from Lumsing.
Nothing interesting about it. He thinks it has a better battery than the last Power Bank he reviewed. You think, or you know? Maybe you should try testing them out?
“When I do lectures” and he shows a picture from his stupid ghost hunting lecture back at that convention in October. We haven’t even begun the desperation train.
Next is a record player. I know that there are people that still listen to vinyl, it’s a better sound I get that. But Bores is not an audiophile, why the hell would he talk about this?
“There’s a feature where you can turn it off and on” Wow, so this is why people subscribe to him. I never knew you could turn a record player off AND on. Fascinating. …… PFFFFFFFFFFF
His impression of the fans demanding to see it in action is really awkward. I think he’s trying to be like a spoiled kid or something?
So the record he decides to showcase? A Smurfs record. … You know, a bunch of annoying blue dwarves would not be my first choice to demonstrate a record player. I would choose some classic rock like The Who or The Rolling Stones, a band that would benefit from vinyl. But no, we get stupid shit.
He forgets to plug it in, then he does, then he plays it, it’s annoying, and he decides to never play it again. Yep, stupid shit. That was the whole reason to do Smurfs, to do a stupid joke. You know, I was looking in the description and the Category is listed as “Gaming”. Nothing in this video has to do with gaming. What the hell?
Last item is a drone. Rather a remote control Quadcopter. Thiiiis is going to be awkward.
Blah blah blah, made of plastic, camera, battery sucks (oh hey, something useful)
“There is a learning curve to learning how to fly this” … You sure you script yourself?
Blah blah blah blah blah
Then a summary. Pointless video, glad it has more dislikes than likes, stop reviewing tech companies send you, nobody cares.
Say Chris, did you do what I suggested and buy a PS4 or Xbone on Black Friday? No? You’re going to post a video instead?
Yeah, a Black Friday “deal” for his fans. If you buy Ghost Hunting 2.0, not only do you get Irate Gamer Volume 1, but you also get another Irate Gamer DVD of your choosing, both for free. I told you the desperation train hasn’t even begun.
Chris, do you not understand your audience? Do you really think that the people that care about your gaming videos give a shit about your ghost passion? The views don’t reflect that. The update video about that convention you attended has less views than the tech reviews and Skylanders spam. Perhaps you should start a third channel for all this ghost stuff. For the five people that actually care.
On another note, it seems Chris is trying Buzzfeed tactics to sell his book now. My informant saw his Amazon page recently and noticed he added a keyword to the description to try and move copies. “Controversial”. With choice quotes like “The Most Controversial Ghost Hunting Book in Years” and “Ghost Hunting 2.0 presents a highly controversial but effective new approach to ghost hunting”
… What’s controversial about it? Has there been a major outcry to it? Is there something about the convention you haven’t told us? As far as I know, the only “controversy” is the negative Amazon reviews, the positive reviews you clearly paid for, and all the stuff I’ve said on here. It sounds like he’s trying sensationalist tactics to trick people into buying it, much like clickbait articles. The desperation train just keeps rolling!
Also, Shaolin Dave noticed that the official listing price on Amazon was $169.99, but has been reduced 93% to $11.14. … Did Chris mistype? Did he mean to list it at $16.99 but added another 9 by accident? Even Chris can’t be dense enough to think he can sell this for $170.
Say, how about that GotGame? Chris hasn’t posted there for months, and I suspect he got fired. Last thing he posted was his Donkey Kong review back in July, and the last “original” content was an article about the R.O.B. amiibo prototype. However, Bores says differently.
Matt Cooper AKA Versain TV asked Bores if he’s still part of GotGame. Bores replied “yep” but then claims he hasn’t posted anything there for a couple months because he’s been “busy”. Ah yes, that excuse again. Matt was nice enough to get a screencap of the comment and post it here: http://imgur.com/gallery/0UAjXSw/new
I suspect there’s more at play. He claimed was too “busy” for E3, and he’s claiming he’s too “busy” to even post content on the site. It sounds like he just wants to save face and not admit that he’s been let go. Maybe he hasn’t, GotGame still has him listed on the site. If he was fired, they would remove all (or most) traces of him. Still, the fact Bores doesn’t have a new console speaks volumes of his crumbling relationship with Got(No)Game.
Once again, thank you Matt for finding this.
Today, on November 30th 2015, Bores posted yet another fucking Skylanders video. My informant watched it and told me there was a really pointless face cam moment. I checked it out and yeah I saw it. At the end of the video, he actually promoted his side channel “TheSkylanderC”, the one he abandoned ages ago. I thought that was weird. So, I went to the channel and saw he posted SEVEN videos around 5 days ago. All really short, and all very similar (Chris talks about a figure, then shows gameplay with face cam). For the record, all the gameplay is recorded by pointing a camera at his TV, just like all the other modern game reviews as of late. He’s claimed before that he did this for Super Smash Bros and Splatoon to avoid Nintendo’s content ID bot, but they don’t own Skylanders, meaning the reality is that CHRIS IS LAZY!
However, there’s something else odd about these videos. The views… they’re rather high. Only posted 5 days ago and they each have over 3k views a piece. That’s impressive when the videos he posted four months ago managed to only get over 600. In fact, these views are consistent… too consistent.
Notice how they’re all in the range of 3200-3400 (minus the one posted four months ago). There’s no way he got that many views in 5 days, and there’s no way that the video he just posted on his channel (3-4 hours ago as of this writing) managed to attract that many hits. Especially when the video itself is barely scraping 300.
… I’m suspecting view bots are being used. Various scripts that one can use to abuse the YouTube system and gain more views. It’s not hard to learn, but it’s incredibly unethical. You could call this the last stop on the desperation train, but I get the feeling it’s going to keep rolling for a while. Good lord Chris, this is why you should have listened to all the criticism. You’re now reduced to cheating YouTube. You’re no better than LifeInATent, who got caught and suspended from the site. Hell, he also made an insensitive video about death (“Thumbs up this video for epic earthquake”/Leonard Nimoy died, give me subscribers)
Will you listen to anyone? Are you just going to stay stuck in your bubble with your fingers in your ears? You have no connections, you burned so many bridges (Guru Larry for instance), what is your plan? Do you really think ghosts will take off again? Are you betting on the upcoming Ghostbusters movie to make them “popular” like the original? Which would be ironic considering your first reaction to the cast was “I wanna jump off a building now”.
It’s just getting sad. *munches popcorn* It's a good trainwreck though.
I don't know if you saw this on the last post, BatDan, but here it is again:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.reddit.com/r/Sleepycabin/comments/3uhico/are_we_going_to_ignore_the_fact_that_there_may/
It's most likely that psychicpebbles just wanted to fuck with Chris when he saw that he actually believed he wasn't joking about collaborating with him.
If he's resorted to using view bots, I how much he's exploited them for his other videos.
ReplyDeletePaid Reviews
View Bots
Puppet accounts
when will the desperation end?
Here is some more telling info on the unusual consistency in views of his recent skylanders videos. I checked them out to see how many likes/dislikes the got. The first odd thing was that none of the videos have ads on them. The most dislikes any one video in that group got was 3 and likes were 5. Strange too that the 2 posted a few months ago also have close to the same amount of views. The views on the videos before that are all over the place, and the likes/dislikes are mostly in the 10 to 50 or more (even on videos that got way less views. I wonder if Bores is just testing out the bot thing on his skylanders channel and seeing if he can make it worth his while before he tries out out on his IG channel
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that you guys notice all this. It's fascinating you have found so much info on someone as boring as Chris Bores.
DeleteI think Chris would do himself a favor to come out and admit he is a cheater and liar. He could convert us haters into fans and if he would listen to the criticism he could gain viewers instead of resorting to cheating views on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteBut that would require him to admit that he was wrong about something, and that's a big no-no for Chris's ego.
DeleteHis ego is worse than George Lucas'.
DeleteNot only his, but James Cameron's as well.
DeleteHe already attempted career repair with an "opening up" video (October 2014), but it could not have been handled more ineptly. The big reveal was that his career has suffered active sabotage at the hands of James Rolfe, and Bores was apparently classy enough not to tell anyone about it for years. Fact is, the phrase "I was wrong" is simply not in his lexicon.
DeleteLol, well said. I couldn't believe it when he said James was actually copying me all along and he was jealous of his success. It was probably an all time low not only for him, but the universe as a whole. I emailed James to ask him what he thought of that and he basically said, "I don't have time to deal with slanderous accusations, especially from someone who doesn't even know me."
Deletewas this recent and if so how much did you tell James? Interesting to see him reply to you though
DeleteI emailed him last year when the opening up video first went viral. He was very brief, but I'll dig up the email later and post it hear.
DeleteI have emailed James many times and this is the only time he replied. Mike Matie is a little better at replying. But neither are very good at getting back to you. I guess I would rather have them spend their time making videos instead of answering emails.
Delete....why would you even do that?
DeleteSeems like you're trying to stir something up for the sake of drama.
Don't e-mail James about Chris. He's already publicly stated that he doesn't give a damn about Bores.
DeleteI only emailed him once about Bores. I'm glad I got a response because usually people don't. I was just curious to see what he would say.
DeleteAnd speaking of James, A VIDEO A DAY UNTIL CHRISTMAS, NOT COUNTING NEW BOARD JAMES AND NEW AVGN REVIEW. Bores shouldn't be allowed to mention this guy.
DeleteYeah! Crisbo's book is so unbelievably bad that it's practically a controversy!
ReplyDelete-_-
I'm surprised he didn't use the line, "I was the 55th most subscribed user on all of YouTube in 2010/2008," for the first line of the book. He'll, I'm surprised he didn't use that line on every page. He should have just used the header and footer on every page to read that line.
DeleteHey Hunter Hunter, awhile ago (Back in May of 2015) you mentioned that Chris Bores said again that a YouTube user that committed suicide is going to hell. Could you provide some proof of that?
ReplyDeletePretty sure that Jew Wario is the one you're referring to. I don't know of a second YouTube who committed suicide that Bores insulted in death.
DeleteAnd the original post on this blog regarding Bores' mentally stupid remark was back in April of 2014. (Even though Bores posted said remark on FB back in January of that year.)
DeleteI know, but there was someone after that. I am aware of Jewario.
ReplyDeleteHunter the Hunter May 22, 2015 at 8:52 PM
DeleteThe Irate Gamer said on Facebook that another YouTube gamer who committed suicide was going to Hell. He deserves this blog.
I suspect when Hunter said "another YouTube gamer," his meaning was "besides Bores himself," meaning the above post refers to the JewWario incident.
Correct.
DeleteA new review of Ghost Hunting 2.0 popped up on Amazon. While I disagree with some of the reviewer's positions I will say that it is perhaps the most thoughtful review yet. I at least believe she actually read the book.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the history with Bores and Guru Larry? Did Chris burn a bridge with him too?
ReplyDeleteAfter Larry tried to give Bores constructive criticism, Bores unfriended him on Facebook.
DeleteI only discovered Bores unfriended him earlier this year actually. I'm pretty sure they were still friends since last year. Leads me to think either Bores was too lazy unfriending him or something else might have happened between the two.
DeleteNo, I believe I asked Larry in the comments on one of Mike J's videos whether he unfriended Bores or whether Bores unfriended him. He said he didn't know Bores wasn't FB friends with him anymore until I asked him. I think I also provided an imgur link to the screenshot of me asking him on YouTube, but I don't know where to find it here on this blog, and I don't feel like searching right now.
DeleteYeah, I remember reading that. Thanks for reminding me.
DeleteWas this after Larry's article on how Bores could improve that was shared here?
DeleteNew video...Dungeons and dragons book
ReplyDeleteCome on, Chris. This isn't even a book about a video game. You're not even trying anymore.
Deletelol when has that stopped him, I think Ass Creed and Mega Man (does he have that one?) were the only game books.
DeleteChris, this isn't how you do a book review. You're just flipping through pages, talk about the pictures and details and spoiling it to everyone who might be interested in the book. Now they won't even buy the book anymore thanks to you.
DeleteAlso at 7:38, did he make a 'nom-nom' sound? That's......weird of him.
Yup! He's that desperate for views but too lazy to make a regular episode that this is what he churns out! If you ask me, that's just pathetic.
Delete-_-
Chris isn't fooling anyone. Everyone knows he's too stupid to understand a pen and paper rpg.
Deletechris should at least put some effort and maybe he can upload more behind the scenes shit or a commentary
DeleteGuru Larry, if you're reading this, I wondered whether or not your opinion on Bores has changed in any way since your big post here in 2012?
ReplyDeleteHey guys, does anyone check out the Making of the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde the game the movie trailer from James Rolfe? I'm very impressed by what he did to make that trailer.
ReplyDeleteSee Chris? This is what you consider "Putting blood, sweat and tears into making something".
Depending on what else happens this month; I might start compiling my tentative worst moments after I'm done with finals. Given this development; BookGate is officially on top, with his schedule slip now having reached its nadir. It's been bad in the past; but failing to stick to a schedule HE set for HIMSELF is just sad. See you all Friday; now back to Super Mystery Dungeon.
ReplyDeleteThe book's list price has jumped 30 bucks to $199.99.
ReplyDelete(Well, it does feature a flowchart of the afterlife.)
$200 for that? Shit, I could probably upgrade to the New 3DS XL for that money. Personally, I'm waiting till 2016; to see if they'll have any commemorative ones for the 30th anniversary of Zelda or the 20th anniversary of Pokémon. That's to say nothing of better books for that money; not something that reads like bad Ghostbusters fan fiction that constantly cites discredited texts and individuals.
DeleteI think I can explain the price thing. Some people, like myself, would sometimes look for deals on Amazon. There are different filters for different discounts. Like 10% or more, 20%, etc. I once saw a watch priced at $200, but was discounted to $20. I thought I was getting a deal when in reality it was the shittiest wrist watch I ever laid eyes on.
ReplyDeleteI think Chris is doing the same thing. Someone is going to be searching for some deals, and would be suckered into buying Chris' book while thinking he's hit the jackpot of Amazon deals.
I apologize for saying "deals" so many times. I would've edited my post but I don't know how to do that.
DeleteWow, there's no low Chris won't fucking stoop to, is there?
DeleteWhat next? Murder?
DeleteHunter. Stop.
DeleteI was joking.
DeleteYou really think I believe Chris would be intelligent enough to get away with murder if he tried?
DeleteJarnail, I was thinking the same thing.
DeleteI contacted Amazon to confirm. The support guy said he never heard of any specific cases of this happening, but theoretically a 94% off sale increases the chances of the book being featured in the "Deal of the Day" emails.
However, it goes by the original price when the item is added to the store, not a price it's jacked up to later on. If Bores is trying to cheat the system this way, it won't work. That's probably the reason he's never heard of it succeeding before.
lmao, that'll be the day, when Bores is deal of the day
DeleteIf there's an underhand tactic that Bores things may dupe people into giving him success, he'll try it. He's proven this right from the beginning, stealing someone else's formula and character, right through to the ghost shit. Perfect field for someone with no brains or talent - your job is to lie to people and you are never expected to show any significant results.
DeleteBasically the man believes the world owes him a living, money and fame, and he'll do anything to get it short of actually putting work and effort into delivering a satisfying product.
OT: Samurai Jack is back!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. I'll definitely be looking forward to 2016; as I've been waiting for a very long time. That was a great show; and I hope they can pull this off after all this time.
DeleteI am amazed at all of the work Chris does to trick people into buying his book. If he had put this much effort into actually writing and editing it then things may have worked out much better for him.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody understand why he has this fascination with ghosts? Part of me thinks he just does this to try to compete with James Rolfes' interest in horror films. I don't really think he believes what says and is just trying someway to pursue James Rolfes' passion for everything horror and this is the best idea he's got. I think he doesn't give a rat's ass about ghosts. It's just another attempt to outdue James on horror like the Irate Gamer was an attempt to outdue James on video game reviews.
DeleteIt's the laziest way to be a TV star. Set up some cameras, stumble around in the dark, say "I felt something" or "the ghost made my camera battery die", and call it a day.
DeleteHis mom could have something to do with it, too. She appeared as a psychic in one of his "Haunted Investigators" episodes, though she went by the name “Billie” and it didn't mention that she was his mom.
Yeah, he has yet to show anything convincing. Nobody seems to like his ghost hunting and yet he won't stop. Just like everyone begged and pleaded with him to stop the Irate Gamer but he wouldn't't. At least the Irate Gamer had some fans and a cult following of haters. His ghost shit is just blah.
DeleteThe whole ghost-hunting thing is one of the most unoriginal and uninspired things ever. There's like ten million shows where people go to "haunted" places to see if there are ghosts there. In fact, there was one on public access in my area called Ghost Tracker, and it was the cheesiest shit ever. Penn & Teller did an episode on BS about ghost hunters. It was hilarious.
DeleteWasn't he doing ghost-related stuff before he started the Irate Gamer though?
DeleteI think so, what Bores wants is his 15 minutes of fame. His Chris & Scottie road trip didn't work, his ghost hunting didn't work, so he settled with plagiarizing already successful names on the internet like AVGN & Bullshit man, and others. His history of videogames seems oddly familiar but I cannot put my finger on it.
DeleteI don’t think James Rolfe had anything to do with Chris Bores and his ghost hunting shtick. In the early days of YouTube Chris was uploading a few shows such as Haunted Investigators, Chris and Scottie’s road trip and Breakfast Rant. I suspect Chris Bores had some kind of Wayne’s World fantasy in which a TV executive sees his videos, loves the concept and sign Chris for a lucrative TV series contract. The Irate Gamer was created only after Chris noticed that James Rolfe was gaining popularity with the AVGN series . Unfortunately, his Irate Gamer episodes were remarkably similar to the recent D&D book review in the sense they were shallow. Chris had no idea what a gamer would look for in a review video.
DeleteThe Breakfast Rants came after Irate Gamer was introduced.
DeleteFirst IG review - April 2007
First Breakfast Rant - December 2007
I consider December 2007 to be part of the early days of YouTube.
DeleteDoes anybody know where his history of Videogames is inspired from? My impression is that when he saw James review the e Odessey he thought, "gee I'm sick of everyone calling me a plagiarist, how can I review this without looking inspired by James." Then he came up with the idea of framing the review around this HOVG series. That's why he has been so slow since 2009 to release HOVG episodes after reviewing the Odessey. He wasn't interested so much in telling a story about the history of videogames, but rather using it as a gimmick in a attempt to cover up the plagiarism of AVGN's review of the Odessey.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I once thought "How cool would it be if James Rolfe did a History of Video Games"? I'm not sure if he would be in character as the AVGN or as himself, but it ould be cool either way. But Bores would say he's ripping him off. Rolfe would still get to the NES faster than Bores would.
Deletewatch it be like when board james series finale ends this month, in 2016 Bores will start doing board game reviews or something and I wouldn't be surprised if the titles of the videos were "Crazy Board Game Review GONE WRONG | Irate Board Games Gamer" And instead of random video game sprites he's going to put poorly animated 2d cartoon characters or some shit like what he did at the end of his castlevania review
DeleteI don't think James likes to do things that require a ton of research. He lovemaking more informal videos and reliving his past or things from the '80s & '90s. Making a documentary about videogames from infancy to present would be too tedious for him. Most people know that, but Chris is the only one naive enough to try to attempt it. He doesn't try very hard to research.
DeleteAfter this year, Chris will be seen as nothing more than a snake oil salesman. He has pulled shady tactics in the past, but this year really took the cake. Selling someone else's artwork without the artist's permission, using bots to inflate his book on Amazon to sell more copies, and now using bots to generate views on his Skylanders videos to generate more ad revenue. Now I'm no stranger to snake oil salesmen; they're everywhere I live. Chris isn't really that good at it as even the most gullible person can see right through his agenda. Eventually he's going to run into the wrong person and will get in a lot of trouble for it.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if anyone falls for Chris' marketing strategy. He's not really clever enough to fool people so he gains views through negative attention. By plagerizing, lying, cheating, using bait tactics, Etc.
DeleteSo, what games/consoles are everyone interested in/playing this holiday season? I'm really enjoying Super Mystery Dungeon so far despite not being familiar with prior entries (I had only played Red Rescue Team on GBA in the past). I plan on getting a Wii U (with focus on the Super Mario Maker or Smash Bros./Splatoon bundle); and my brother is planning on getting an Xbox One (can't think of anyone I'd rather have by my side in the new Battlefront; and the Jakku DLC is going live soon). That's not even getting into filling in the blank spaces in my collection from prior years; not to mention getting into the Amiibo hunt (my plan is still to get the "big 4" of Mario, Link, Samus and Pikachu; then search for the rarities). Fortunately, I'm not a completionist in that regard (I don't care about Xenoblade, so I can skip those figures).
ReplyDeleteWell, I already own a Wii U along with Smash, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. However, I don't have a 3DS and asked for the new model for Christmas along with Xenoblade Chronicles X for Wii U and the Palutena amiibo (seriously Nintendo, fuck you for making it AMAZON exclusive out of all stores and then not even restocking it once ON AN ONLINE STORE). If I were to get another 8th gen console, I would get the PS4, as its hardware is superior and it has more exclusives. However, I think I would get it at earliest when Last Guardian comes out. And honestly, looking at all the big games out right now, I'm still confident that I made the right choice of buying a Wii U. Fallout 4 was overhyped and could have improved more things from its predecessors. Battlefront is mediocre and has such bullshit DLC practices. Assassin's Creed has basically become the CoD of action/adventure games. And CoD, well, that needs no explanation.
DeleteAnd I'm sorry to say, Steven, but you're probably S.O.L. with Samus. Unlike Mario, Link and Pikachu, Nintendo doesn't like restocking her for whatever reason, and she is near impossible to find in the U.S. However, if you're going to actually use the amiibo for its intended purposes or don't care what version it is, Japanese Samus is up on the site Amiami for less than MSRP. You could buy her and 2 other rare ones for the same price, and the SAL registered shipping should make it so that you get 3 amiibo for a grand total that is only a buck or 2 over what you would have had to pay if you got them for MSRP plus tax here in the U.S.
DeleteHunter the Hunter, you have been a long time poster on here. When did you start? Also how did you learn about Chris Bores? I didn't learn about him until march of 2010 when I noticed his name pop up in the comments of James' videos. Fortunately, I learned about him soon enough to see all the masterful Irate Gamer parodies before they were removed by Chris Bores.
DeleteI probably won't be playing much this year, I want to concentrate on developing over playing games. If I do take breaks, I'll likely be playing the games I haven't touched on Steam and PS3. Also, my girlfriend got me a Pitendo for my birthday, so that'll likely keep me busy.
DeleteThank you Hunter. I am glad that the figures aren't region-locked; and I too am waiting for a release date for The Last Guardian till I consider getting a PS4. That should also give me plenty of time for my backlog, which does include the HD rereleases of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Also, never really been a fan of Assassin's Creed; I don't feel they do anything that the Prince of Persia series has been doing for years. Guess I'll keep working on Pokémon Picross in between studying for finals.
DeleteThe only AC game I've ever played was 2, which I enjoyed, but which I also thought was enough of the series I needed to play since gameplay changes little within the series. And I really hope that Nintendo restocks more rare amiibo soon. We already have enough Shulks, Foxes, Little Macs, Lucarios, Greninjas, and Captain Falcons in the US now after 3 major retailers have had them restocked within the past couple of months.
DeleteGlad to hear it; especially since Lucario has been my favorite for a long time. It's clear that Ninty and I seem to have underestimated the whole "toys-to-game" craze. At the very least, I plan to get the NFC reader before I consider upgrading to the New 3DS XL (there might be commemorative 30th anniversary Zelda or 20th anniversary Pokémon variants in 2016; but I don't know. We'll see.). Depending on how the stock patterns in my area go over the holidays as well as my forthcoming 24th birthday; I may consider importing some of the rarities from Japan or Europe. Not the only toyline I've seen this happen to either. Once again, it's taking forever to have new RID Transformers shipped to my area because of Goldner's perpetual obsession with the live-action films and their merchandise (my nearest Walmart has yet another "hive" of 1-step Bumblebees but only a couple Deluxe Grimlock figures per shipment, as well as a massive slag of Fixits but barely any Sideswipes. Guess there's always eBay.).
DeleteI'm still waiting for Hasbro to released Combiner Wars Combaticons to my area. And beware of RID Sideswipe. The figure has a major flaw where the chest CANNOT connect to the shoulder pegs at all, thus making his shoulders loose and cannot lock in place.
DeleteI'm really looking forward to possibly getting Splatoon and Mario Kart 8, the former I have been saving up money for and plan on purchasing for my birthday in less than a week. While these two games are not exactly new, all of the content they contain has me hyped (especially in terms of DLC).
DeleteAs for the handheld side of things, I might finally pick up The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. I'm not sure why, but nothing from the 3DS library has greatly interested me as of late. In fact, Smash Bros. 3DS is the most recent (release date-wise) game I acquired for my system, and that was in mid-October last year.
As for the New Nintendo 3DS (seriously, it needs a better name), I don't see any reason to upgrade. I've had my original 3DS since July 2011 and, aside from some scratches and slightly worn-out buttons, it still works like a charm. Besides, the New Nintendo 3DS only has one exclusive game (Xenoblade Chronicles 3D), whereas everything else can be played just fine on a normal 3DS model. I also don't care much for the super-stable 3D feature (I care about the actual games, Nintendo, not the 3D gimmick).
Yeah, my standard unit works OK (the contact points are a little touchy where the game card goes in; but it works fine all the same); hence why I'm waiting for now. I don't really care about Xenoblade; and I definitely recommend Majora's Mask 3D (which has done a great job in not only retaining what made the N64 version great, but also updating many elements for a new generation). I've had a backlog of 3DS titles I've been wanting ever since it launched; with X and Y being the final catalyst to get me to pick mine up (I only had enough money to get a standard XL with no games or a standard unit with Pokémon Y in 2013; and I chose the latter). I don't see myself upgrading till 2016 at the earliest (where there might be special units for the 30th anniversary of Zelda or the 20th anniversary of Pokémon); so the NFC reader and Smash Bros. 3D might be sufficient; depending on what kind of money I get for Christmas and my birthday.
DeleteOh shit guys, he published a review on gotgame:
ReplyDeletehttps://gotgame.com/2015/12/03/gotgame-exclusive-ig-neo-tales-of-zestiria-game-review-2015/
Wow, that was painful. All of his "jokes" completely relied on words sounding similar to one another. And I guarantee you this video's going to get downvoted to hell after he talked shit about Kingdom Hearts. Also, it's good to see that he still thinks that playing the first couple levels of a game qualifies him for a review. How the fuck does GotGame still have him?
DeleteTerrible review. He literally spent only a few seconds talking about the actual gameplay, and all he said there was "yeah it's awesome". The rest was just whoring over the graphics and padding with stupid lame jokes.
DeleteHe pronounced Zestiria two different ways.
DeleteNo...No......NOOOOO!!!

Delete*sighs* Okay, I've calmed down and watched and listened to the review and...it breaks my heart. Because it was painful.
DeleteHe really can't be that stupid. He not only mispronounce the title but he also mispronounce Sorey and Alisha's names! It's pronounced Sore-Ray and how the fuck does he mistakes Alisha for Ashley?! THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRONUNCIATIONS! And he can't be that stupid because Mikleo pronounce Sorey's name at the first few minutes of the game! The only thing I'm glad about is that he only covers until the opening of the game.
I am pretty sure Bores must keep close tabs on this blog. Lots of people here thought Bores would do a Castlevania episode, and there it is. There was talk of how he isn't on GG anymore, and he slaps a video on it.
DeleteAnd that joke where he talks to himself about Sorry or whatever sounds like something from an annoying ad you would hear on talk radio during Rush Limbaugh or something
DeleteStrange, the video is now unlisted.
DeleteI'm predicting a Metroid episode before long. And for extra credit he can do something on the Game Boy as it was also a main Captain N character in Season 2.
DeleteWell, Bores is already starting to delete the video's YouTube comments.
DeleteAnd I love how there's only 80 views on GotGame and only 1 like. Gee, I wonder who that person could be.
DeleteOT: Game Awards had a lot of big reveals, two of which that stood out at me being a Telltale Batman game in the style of the early Bob Kane/Bill Finger stories; and-wait for it-Psychonauts 2. I am not making that last one up.
ReplyDeleteAnd still nothing about the release date for that Smash broadcast coming this month. I have to know when I can play as Cloud ASAP.
DeleteIt's also going to be the last Direct before the stream is retired. I think they might be replacing it with another one; but I don't remember.
DeleteHonestly, the Game Awards wasn't bad at all. I think the show has finally improved. There were no more horrible jokes and skits like the previous years which I'm glad.
DeleteAnyways, what hurts me is the fact that Kojima wasn't present at the show. A lawyer at Konami prevented him from going to the show to accept the award in person. Even Geoff Keighly is disappointed by the news.
Are Konami STILL obssessing over him? Sheesh! You'd think by now that everyone would just move on, but it seems like they're bent on sullying Kojima's name till kingdom come! This just shows what they are today!
Delete#>.<#
I really can't stand Youtube comments. In IGN's video of Hideo Kojima not attending the awards, while most people are expressing how disappointed he couldn't come, there are a group of assholes saying they're glad Konami barred him from the event and that he doesn't deserve to make video games. Pffft...let's see if these guys can make a game better than his.
DeleteGet a load of this: Konami apparently wants to make a sixth MGS game without Kojima, which contradicts their plans to shift their focus to the emerging market of mobile games. Even with that bridge being very burnt; it shows that the company is royally fucked.
DeleteThe phrase "fuck Konami" is becoming less of a joke everyday.
DeleteWas it even a joke?
Deleteo_o
He put up a Skylanders video yesterday, but on the Skylanders channel only. Guess he's beginning to listen to criticism.
ReplyDeleteDon't get your hopes up! He did this before for like 2 weeks before seemingly abandoning the channel. I give him 1 week.
Delete-_-
Why does he keep doing these stupid Skylander videos when he knows nobody cares?
