Man, GotGame must need views. There’s another IG video already posted. It’s a sketch video, a “crossover” with site owner Steve Masters (and I say crossover in the loosest sense since Steve only shows up in the beginning and end).
Steve wants IG to try out their new invention “Real Real Gaming”. Wow, that’s ironic. Who else to test something called “real gaming” than the biggest fraud of all?
When Steve introduces IG, he responds with “welcome”. What kind of response is that? Why not something like “thank you” or “great to be here”? He’s the one welcoming you! Please tell me he doesn’t need a script THAT badly?
We then cut to IG sitting in front of a TV with an Xbox 360 connected. Enjoy this, this is the only time we’re going to see Bores play a 360 these days (according to my informant, a fan asked if he prefers 360 or PS3. A real gamer has no preference, so Bores responded “PS3”. Going by this and other instances, it’s safe to say he’s a massive PS3 fanboy).
EDIT: My anger towards console fanboys clouded my judgement. People do have preferences, but most sensible players know the actual strengths and weaknesses of all the consoles. Bores is not one of those sensible players.
First game he tries is Sleeping Dogs. I love how it’s a shitty TV incapable of HD but the footage itself is in HD. Must be those GotGame interns hard at work.
During gameplay, goons shoot at IG and bullets hit the wall behind him in real life. With this you can tell what kind video this will be. The stale “video games attack you in real life” joke repeated over and over. Lovely.
He then starts NBA Jam. So, something like Bores getting set on fire when the announcer yells “HE’S ON FIRE”, or exploding after “BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA”. Nope, he just gets attacked by a basketball. … Pretty lame.
By the way, heavy amounts of controller shaking Pac-Man Fever throughout this video. It is at the worst on the last game.
He follows that with Project Gotham Racing 3, thinking it will be safe. You’re going to hit by a car or something. At least that’s how I would have done it. Instead, he crashes and there’s an explosion. Because it wouldn’t be a Mi- I mean Irate Gamer video without explosions. That doesn’t even make sense, PGR doesn’t have explosions. Would it really have been that hard to edit a car to drive by him?
So, that’s the third game. Rule of three dictates the video is over right? HAHAHA no. Instead we have to watch him play Madden 13. Yeah, you can all see where this is going.
He gets hit by a football player. What’s the point of this video? Did Steve want to do an actual crossover only to see Bores knows nothing about the games he plays and never actually beats them?
The video ends with Steve reporting again, and IG walking up with his sleeves rolled up and looking like an ape. So, playing “Real Real Gaming” devolves a human back to a Neanderthal state? Looks like it needs more testing.
Also, couldn’t you have made him look damaged? Cover him in fake blood, put him in bandages, something to imply he got tackled.
But no, IG just throws the games down and punches Steve in the face. Badly. I just sit there and roll my eyes.
And for those wondering why I’m talking about this despite not sounding like an IG video? Bores credits himself with his usual titles at the end. That’s why.
So that was… just lame. Really nothing much to say besides that.
I just think GotGame is reaching at this point. I mean, they have something called the “Ghetto Gamers”. Are you serious?
What’s next? Hell if I know.
I do find it funny how Bores is ultra-hyping Haunted Investigators. In reality, only like three people will care. He doesn’t seem to get that people only “care” for HI because of his other show, the one he neglects for months at a time.
Heh..."Ghetto Gamers"...intro alone is enough to make your ears bleed (inspired by Retrogamer3 ?). Then some trailer park guys failing at proper audio levels so it's hard to understand them...oh, dude number 1 mentions Irate Gamer's "gameplay" of Transformers:FoC, cool story. See ya in the Ghetto...
ReplyDeleteI browsed a lot of computing magazines in the early '80s, and there was a tedious sameness to the little one-panel cartoons they'd use to fill out the page. Someone would always be saying some variation on "Wow, talk about your realistic video games," as a fighter plane flew off the monitor, or the person sitting at the computer got electrocuted by a laser beam, or some such.
ReplyDeleteTHAT'S how tedious the video was for me. Saw it all thirty years ago.
Real real gaming. If anything, it's clearly fake fake gaming. At least the sketches with the Lakitu and the Boos still technically followed the conventions of the games they were in. Sure, they were stupid; but it's clear IG and GotGame at least know Mario. Then again, even people who don't normally play games know Mario. I'm already thinking about what I want for the worst IG moments this year, and this is gold for that.
ReplyDeleteEh, not really. His Ninja Gaiden review is the worst IG moment so far. This is just lame.
DeleteMy worst moment is the repeated insistence of "Nintendo is kiddy", but praising Ninja Gaiden III will definitely make the list.
DeleteAll three of these sucked, but I'm still going with either the HOVG video (over a year for five minutes) or the E-begging parody (Not so much on quality as on general principles).
DeleteYeah I'm gonna go with E-begging parody. Its such a bad parody that he had to title it a spoof. Kickstarter has already made plenty of good things (FTL and other really awesome games) so confusing E-begging with Kickstarter is not cool and the joke will become as lame and insensitive as insulting mister rogers.
DeleteOkay, I am going to have to argue with you on one point. You say that its wrong to have a preferred system, but in this day and age, when the console exclusive is a dying breed and a good number of triple A titles are available on both 360 and PS3, I think it's all but inevitable that one will just have a default console that they tend to buy multiplatform stuff on, unless one version is known to be superior. I'll admit, I still don't own a 360, but even if I did I'd probably still buy more for the PS3, as I like its controller more and I don't care enough about online play to actually pay for it, among other reasons that, for the sake of avoiding another flame war, I won't discuss here.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, I agree with BatDan. I mean, I think it's better not to reveal your favorite console. Everybody has one, but if I were Bores, I wouldn't outright reveal which one I prefer, because I might piss off fanboys or they may label me as a fanboy myself. For example: James Rolfe. Seeing his videos, he clearly prefers the 360 over the PS3, but I don't think he's gonna come out and confirm it (BTW, isn't it funny that he apparently prefers the 360? It's like Bores came from Bizarro World)
DeleteEh, if he said it out of nowhere, it'd be one thing, but if someone asked him about it I don't think there should be a problem. Besides, given that he's still more that willing to jump on the (incredibly stupid) anti-Playstation All-Stars bandwagon, I can't really call him a Sony fanboy.
Delete"A real gamer has no preference"
ReplyDeleteThat's honestly more foolish than anything I've heard Bores say in ages.
I mean preference in console. At least when it comes to the big three.
DeleteI just don't like console fanboys.
I always thought the console wars were one of the dumbest things ever. Back in the days of SNES vs Genesis it made sense, since most gamers were kids back then anyway. But nowadays there's a lot of adult gamers and I still can't believe they fight over which console is better. They're just products, who the hell cares! It's like fighting over which printer is better.
DeleteThe PC vs. Mac wars are stupid, too.
DeleteI prefer PS3, though not by much and I own both. The main reason is the exclusive titles, usually if it's a multi-platform game I'll get it on 360. Wii's excellent for exclusives as well but I can't stand the Wiimote so I usually don't bother, it wouldn't be such a problem if someone would come up with a sturdier charge lead but the ones I get are always flimsy as hell and sometimes even snap off in the battery pack. Not to mention they're so short most of the time that it's impossible to play the game anyway since you have to stand or sit way too close to the TV screen and have limited mobility. The other option is a docking bay, which isn't ideal either since they often won't charge unless the Wii is turned on, even on standby it doesn't seem to work. Not that Bores cares about anything practical like that, he just prefers PS3 because it looks cool and plays the 'funny' God of War games.
ReplyDeleteAnyway. This video sucked. No originality, bland execution, no reason for existing. Fail.
I added a little something about my "preferences" comment. I apologize to anyone I offended.
ReplyDeleteOn a somewhat different subject: Watching Part 5 of To Boldly Flee, I saw Todd in the Shadows in a very well-made RoboCop costume. You see that SWAG? Now THAT'S how you make a RoboCop costume. No stupid looking tinfoil.
Spoiler alert!
DeleteWell, he didn't say HOW or WHY he's wearing the costume. Just that he wears it. Not that big a spoiler.
DeleteOT: What do I think as being the worst moment of 2012? Definitely that E-begging spoof Bores made as an attempt to lure people away from James Rolfe because of a little error he made regarding the Cheetahmen II Kickstarter that Greg Pabich was doing. And despite the error (and IG's spoof), James was still getting subs while Chris was losing them. Karma's a bitch, ain't it?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, "Real Real Gamers"? Chris is not one of them, that's for sure. Ego the size of California and Texas combined is still running into his head...
Squenix doesn't have a soul?
ReplyDeleteWhy? Just curious.
I'm guessing with how much they price iOS apps, especially the new The World Ends with You: Solo Remix game.
DeleteBecause they milk their main franchise (especially the 7th entry) for all it's worth? Because the last 2 to 3 entries in teh franchise saw a continuing decline in quality, with the developers having this weird struggle with game engines?
Delete(Ever wondered why a certain game was just a straight corridor without real cities? They developed the engine alongisde the game, probably had to remake several parts and ended up with a tech demo)
And despite the quality of XIII and XIII-2, they continue to milk this entry with the announcement of a third game (Lightning Returns).
DeleteThey announce games before they even begin development (the vastly different Versus XIII is nowhere near coming out).
Final Fantasy XIV was a complete mess, and despite their attempts at redemption they will never succeed.
Once known as the house of RPGs, current press releases show like 1 or 2 RPGs and everything else belonging to the company formerly known as Eidos (Tomb Raider, Hitman, etc.)
@BatDanNight:
DeleteIt's not just the quality. It's also the sales: XIII-2 only sold slightly above 2 million, meaning that only a mere third of all XIII players were interested in a continuation. I kinda doubt that Lightning Returns will sell better, even though Square seems to hype it as this grand 25th anniversary game.
I don't really have a problem with Square-Enix. I mean, they still release good games once in a while. I will concede, though, that they definately don't know when something doesn't work.
Delete@Arthur Arneiro:
DeleteI presume you mean Kingdom Hearts. That series and Final Fantasy is pretty much the only thing Square actually develops. Pretty much any other game is made by a studio they bought in the past.
@Doresh
DeleteHey, speaking of Kingdom Hearts, I'm thinking of getting Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS. Is it any good?
@Arthur Arneiro:
DeleteDon't ask me. I abandoned Square for Atlus, Level-5 and Nippon Ichi XD
But from what I can gather, the game seems to be good. There even seems to be a demo on the 3DS eshop, so you can check it out.
I was never a fan of Square-Enix's games. I'm not a fan of Final Fantasy either. I'm more of a fan of the Tales series by Namco. In the Tales series, the characters are lively, likeable, charming and relatable. But the FF universe is full of dull, emo and idiotic characters (Especially Cloud and Tidus).
Delete@Sovereign64:
DeleteI had a similar realization when I switched over to the above 3 developers: Shin Megami Tensei has superior writing, characters and gameplay (not to mention that Shouji Meguro makes AWESOME soundtracks). Disgaea is crazy addictive and fun. And Dragon Quest shows that you don't have to constantly revamp or replace what's not broken, yet still make a fresh game.
@Sovereign64
DeleteI'm trying to play through Tales of the Abyss. I'm very early in, but it's hard for me to go further as I don't particularly like the main character (also, combat is pseudo-real time I prefer turn-based). I keep telling people how I hope it improves.
I find it odd how you referred to Cloud as emo, considering how he was almost never like that in the original game.
Squenix is still my favorite RPG studio, mostly becuase it has vastly more hits than misses, especially its earlier stuff. I recently played a fan translation of Live A Live, a Super Famicom game that never officially left Japan. It is both incredibly fun and near impossible to figure out without a guide.
Right now, my favorite RPG series is Suikoden, a series by Konami. You should check it out.
@Patrick:
DeletePseudo-real time can be pretty hit and miss IMO. Star Ocean 3 never felt "right" for me, even though I liked the first one.
Ever checked out the Grandia series? Might be a bit linear, but damn, do they know how to make pseudo-real time battles (that nevertheless controls like a turn-based game, right down to giving you control over the whole party) !
Live a Live is fantastic, and I kinda miss the days when Square would make all kinds of games...
Suikoden's als pretty neat, but here you REALLY need a guide if you don't want to miss god knows how many characters.
Ergh ... didn't think that bit would be left there.
DeleteI'll play any RPG regardless of its maker if I find it appealing enough. And given how PAL regions got shafted for PS2 games especially ... sort of a 'take what I can get' thing.
That said, I'm counting ten PS2 RPGs I haven't finished. Maybe I'm being fussy.
@Sovereign64
DeleteI don' know about Cloud being emo since I'm in the second half on the second disk and, except for a short part during the crater, I never see him as this (though he was pretty emo in Advent Children, I'll admit that) but it was for the same reasons I can't stand Tales Of The Abyss' Luke, when he was not an arrogant asshat (not in a Baten Kaitos' Kalas way of enjoyable) he was incredibly whiny at the endgame. No offense.
But personally, my favorite rpgs are Skies of Arcadia and Persona 4 (I think I'm gonna buy a PS Vita when P4 Golden will arrive)
@Cynic:
DeleteI can't actually complain much about PS2 games in PAL regions. True, the Tales of series only gets released here at random, but we also got did get plenty of rather obscure stuff, like Shin Megami Tensei.
Alright, let me rephrase what I said. When I say I'm not a fan of Final fantasy doesn't mean I hate the entire series. There are games I do like such as VII, VIII and XIII but I'm not a fan of the series overall. When I say irritating characters, I meant certain characters. I don't like Tidus but I don't hate Cloud. I just had mixed feelings of him. But I do like other characters such as Tifa, Aeris, Squall, Yuna and Lightning.
DeleteAs for the Tales series, I didn't say I like Abyss because I do agree, Luke is annoying as hell. That's why I like Symphonia and Vesperia more.
@Sovereign64:
DeleteI'd be happy if I wasn't a fan. Sadly, I LOVE FF5 and 6 (probably also 4, didn't have time to play it probably), and it saddens me to see what has become of the series...
In my case, I'm actually alright with XIII and IV amd VI were my favorites. My least favorites were II and X-2. The former because of its broken stat-level system and the latter because the Charlie's Angels BS I have to suffer.
DeleteThis video also proves that Steve Masters is as dumb as IG. Really Steve? Are you that desperate to attract more people into your website?
ReplyDeleteSteve depends on Bores' videos to keep GotGame alive. Smart people do not make this mistake.
DeleteWell to be honest, Gotgame had no traffic before the Irate Gamer sponsored it. Steve was most likely acting in favor of the site's traffic.
Delete@Doresh:
DeleteWell, it kinda seems like he has bet on the wrong horse - if he ever wanted his site to have some form of credibility, that is.
This video doesn't really need to exist. Sure, the idea of Real Real gaming sounds interesting, but couldn't Gotgame have gotten someone else to do this video? Maybe Knightwing? I seriously doubt Chris enjoyed doing this as he doesn't show much emotion during gameplay except, of course, for the "special effects" of Real Real gaming. He even still has the same unrealistic Pac-Man Fever (or Winter Gaming as DLAbaoaqu describes it) play style.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I consider myself a Nintendo fan, but I still do respect Microsoft and Sony. I mean, I own an Xbox 360 and my best friend has a Playstation 3 and I do enjoy playing both consoles.
Update from my Facebook informant.
ReplyDeleteBores said the next Irate Gamer episode is going to give him a personality disorder as he's playing around 15 different characters.
15? What the hell? That's far too many! Here's a thought, work on the few characters you have now instead of shoving in more for people to hate.
And considering how long it takes for him to make a video, would it really hurt to get some other actors? Jeez, 15 characters? That's seriously screwed up.
I've seen something similar to this. Luke Mochrie on TGWTG does a similar thing on his show. He lets his various personalities review movies from different points of view.
Delete@BattleFeverJ:
DeleteThere's a slight difference: Luke does at most 5 or 6 personalities (but usually only 3 - himself included), and he actually manages to make them distinct.
Bores on the other hand can't even make the narrator (who needs no costume, and you can easily record several takes of his lines without problems) sound different. Him switching between 15 characters will get REALLY confusing.
To be completely fair, Linkara plays a lot of characters on his show, too. Harvey, 90's Kid, Boffo, Dr. Linksano, Mechakara...however, whereas Linkara's characters are distinct, unique and entertaining, Bores' characters are just annoying. AND Linkara has other people play other characters when they can.
DeleteKinda makes you wonder how much screen time each character is gonna' get, considering his videos are usually only ten minutes long.
DeleteHe's already turning into a one-man show as it is, having lost Scottie, Brad Harp, and now possibly Eric "Wise Sage" Allen. I do like multiple personality stories; but Bores has proven he can make his characters uninteresting, unlikable, and unfunny. I imagine it won't be good. Especially since he continues to put more stock into special effects than writing or acting.
DeleteI don't have a problem with shows having more than 15 characters. To me, it's good to have more characters.
DeleteBut my problem is, will any of these characters Bores 'create' have any distinct personalities, instead of the same exact idiotic character like Irate Gamer himself? Will any of these characters have any actual use in later episodes, especially since Satan-Bores has no important role in the reboot series so far? Will any of these characters have any character development or relationships with one another? So far the only character that has interacted with other characters is Irate Gamer. You don't see Ronnie, Tony and/or Kool-Aid Man ever meeting and talking to each other. Sure there were some moments but they were VERY brief.
*Sigh* Bores really suck at writing.
The thing about Linkara's character he plays and the ones Bores plays is that with the exception of Ronnie, none of Bores' characters feels like someone else. I am actually willing to buy the idea that Linkara is standing there talking to Harvey Finevoice or 90's Kid.
DeleteBores is different, DevilBores doesn't feel like anyone special, Cousin Joey is Bores with Audacity tweaking his voice. In fact the only character Bores has done where he even attempts at actually trying to act IS Ronnie the Skeleton.
And that is just plain sad. The only characterhe actually tries on is the one no one likes!
His characters have next to no personality, and the little they do have is either annoying (Cousin Joey, Ronnie) or completely unlikeable (Tony). Hell, despite once talking about having solidified his own "character" back during the Mission Impossible episode, the Irate Gamer himself is all over the place, and not in a good way. He's supposed to be a hero (the "chosen one", no less!), yet he's shown himself to be lazy/apathetic when his city was in danger, guilty of several felonies and misdemeanors, a complete airhead/manchild, rude to... just about everyone for no real reason, and has no meaningful relationships with any of his "characters" beyond cheap jokes. Yes, Linkara is also a jerk in several ways despite being the universe's champion, but in his case it's an actual plot point that gets addressed on several occasions. IG is just a poorly written Jerk Stu.
DeleteYes. One case in particular is in the Catwoman: Guardian of Gotham two-parter, where it's discovered that most of his actions in recent videos have been very unheroic, and we can see a look of absolute horror on Lewis' face as he recollects what he's done. Bores, on the other hand, has set himself up as a hero, when he's, in no particular order: killed the Kool-Aid man on Christmas, killed the president of LJN, blew up an alien mothership, acted like an asshole to everyone around him, rarely gotten hurt in the most recent storyline (physically or emotionally), and trounced villains with minimal effort (the Pixel Demon being a very egregious case of this). Yet, we're STILL expected to believe he's a hero. That's not even counting the shit in his other series (History of VIdeo Games, Irate the '80s, Chris and Scottie Road Trip). Yep, I'd say we've got a full-on designated hero with Bores.
DeleteIs it possible that he'll lose fans if did a one-man show?
ReplyDeleteConsidering most of his Facebook pals are still eating it up, I doubt it.
DeleteHe has enough fans that he could find people to act in his videos with him. However, so many of his fans aren't really "fans". He can't do interviews anymore because odds are he's just being set up (like UNN). He probably can't take any request for guest actors for the same reason.
DeleteIsn't this already a one-man show? Those cameos once in a blue moon barely count.
DeleteI think that's what Bores wanted to do all along, to be a one-man show.
DeleteI think the reason why Chris Bores doesn't have any actors is because that would mean he would have to share the credit. He likes to take the full fame.
DeleteI really can't help but think that the entire way in which the lot at Channel Awesome swamp their entire videos with awful and unfunny sketches in which they dress in silly costumes and act out their own little attempts at storylines, has just given Bores the idea that this is what he needs to do in order to succeed. You know the old expression, 'monkey see, monkey do'.
Delete@Marsten:
DeleteWhatever might think about those storylines, at least most of them tend to have an arc, build-up an planning. Bores' storyline is all over the place.
I'd think the last thing Bores would want to joke about is developing a multiple personality disorder.
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't think he'd want to make "retard" jokes before the Robocop episode, but there you go.
Delete"Duuuuuuh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh! Multiple personality disorder so funny!"
ReplyDeleteWhat. The. Fuck. Bores?
No wonder you're still losing subscribers.
I can't wait for the Bores' newest episode to get a thrashing once it comes out...
So, the Wii U announcement came this morning: it's coming out on November 18. The basic unit is $300, and there's a deluxe unit with more flash memory, a dock for the controller, and some store credit for the Nintendo eShop for $350. As far as I know, Nintendo Land will be packed in with the console; a la Wii Sports, so people will have a game from the get-go that shows what the console can do; but this is unconfirmed. It's also the first Nintendo console in two generations to have a Mario title at launch. I'm thinking the console will be a hit, since it's coming out not long before Black Friday; and by extension, the Christmas shopping season. What do you all think of that?
ReplyDeleteNintendoLand is confirmed to be a bundle with the Deluxe SKU (the $350 one). That's the one I'm getting for the extra memory and GamePad charger.
DeleteI'm interested in Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, The Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends, and after today's conference NSMB U does look pretty nice.
Bayonetta 2 out of nowhere was a huge surprise. I am okay with it.
Gotta say, I'm pretty pumped after today's announcements. I'm looking to nab the Deluxe set. I'm interested in most of what Dan listed, as well as ZombiU and a few of the updated ports (I still haven't played Arkham City or Trine 2), and even Nintendo Land is looking fairly solid, especially since it comes with the Deluxe set.
DeleteOh God, please don't bring that horseshit up. I usually like Cheese's articles, but that one was fucking stupid.
DeleteIt's Cracked. They once claimed there's going to be another video game crash. I'm thinking the Wii U will sell, since it's a Nintendo console that's catering to the core gamers, and it's the first home console of the eighth generation (which is already going on in the handheld world with the 3DS and PS Vita). Plus, not every game is going to use the pad like that, it can also be used as a screen instead of the TV. I also don't believe the claims that the graphics won't be up to snuff when the PS4 and 720 are out. I'm approaching the Wii U like the Super Nintendo-that the graphics will hold up, but the gameplay will be what people remember.
DeleteTo Boldly Flee has finished up. I really liked it. Unlike the other two specials, the focus on drama really lifted the special up.
ReplyDeleteEven if you don't like the script, you have to admit the effects and production value is stellar. Chris Bores could only dream have having effects this awesome.
I just got through watching it myself. It's funny, one of the more common arguments that fanboys of a movie put forward is "well, where's YOUR movie?". Doug can hold his head up high and point to To Boldly Flee whenever someone tries to use that argument.
DeleteI saw it and I liked it as well. It was also nicely acted by the cast. All Bores can do is make a face that looks like he's auditioning for a commercial for Preparation H.
DeleteAt most times I thought it took itself way too seriously. Overall I think it was good. One twist I guessed the first time they foreshadowed it, the other one got me.
DeleteSo, what plot holes did everyone yell out. Mine was "How did the Nostalgia Critic beam out of the ship for the 'Judge Dredd' scene when he still had the house-arrest anklet on?"
The Judge Dredd scene was in Part 4. He removed his anklet in Part 3. That's how.
Delete...guess I missed that. Oops
DeleteOkay, unrelated to TBF, "How did the T-1000 and T-X travel back in time without flesh surrounding them like the T-800?"
@Shaolin Dave:
DeleteEither they left the flesh needed to get the OK from the time machine back in the future, or the machine is happy enough if it just looks like real flesh.
A great anniversary I must say. Just the Star Wars parts where a bit weird. The acting of everyone involved in this subplot was great, but it felt more like a rehash than a parody, didn't it?
Oh, and my plothole is the entire prequel trilogy XD
Well my plothole isn't really so much of a plothole but rather what I thought a poor lack of judgement.
DeleteWhy did the Empire give Han Solo to Jabba The Hutt? Yes, Jabba has a bounty on him, and Boba wants his money, but Darth Vader said they'd re-compensate him if Han died in the carbon chamber and surely a REBEL GENERAL would make a superb hostage/mine of information for the Empire, and it's not as though Darth Vader had gambling debts. It would be like the government giving a spy over to the Mafia because they happened to have a hit on him.
@fattoler:
DeleteThey did it either because the plot demanded it, or because the Hutts have a greatly overblown influence in the Outer Rim.
In case you want to know, my plot holes involved TDKR. Spoiler alert: Why do the cops look relatively fine for being trapped in the sewers for X months? How did Batman get back to Gotham so quickly? Why did Batman waste time making a Bat-signal out of fire instead of taking care of the bomb? If there's an option to open the floodgates, why didn't Lucius Fox do that in the first place?
ReplyDelete1. We saw that the cops were getting supplies from the people above. It probably included all the necessary supplies for their health.
Delete2. I don't think we knew how long it took Batman to get back to Gotham, I might be wrong though.
3. The Bat signal served as an inspiration for the cops to fight back. Even though the odds looked pretty grim.
4. I don't think Fox knew about it, he wasn't even familiar with the machine until Bruce showed him.
On a side not, who saw IG's Skylanders video? He seems to be overly obsessed with this series.
If you want to see what the BIGGEST plotholes of The Dark Knight Rises are and how it should have been resolved, check out How It Should Have Ended: The Dark Knight Rises on Youtube.
Delete@fusioncode9:
Delete1. A more important question would be why the cops' outfit still looks like they didn't spent more than a few hours in the sewers. I presume that Mr. Freeze conserved them XD
@Sovereign64
Delete"Worst death ever!"
Doug Walker has admitted that the Nostalgia Critic IS finished.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I saw that too. While I am a bit sad that there will be no more weekly NC episodes, I'm glad he decided to retire the Nostalgia Critic instead of running him into the ground and going stale and annoying (obvious statement about how Bores should do the same, though at no point was he ever good). I'm excited that he's making a new show. Can't wait for that.
DeleteI didn't hear that. I guess it's a good. So many times people see an idea go too far and lose it's edge (Batman Forever, Batman and Robin), when they should have quit while they were still ahead (Dark Knight Rises).
DeleteIt is sad that a show I've been watching since 2009 has ended but still, I'm glad Doug Walker gave the Nostalgia Critic a satisfying finale and I respect his decision in ending the show. Thanks Doug for giving us 221 awesome NC reviews since 2008.
DeleteI'm definitely looking forward to his newest show Demo reel, especially since he and Rob now own their own studio.
Well, better to end it with a bang than with a whimper. Can't really think of any better moment.
DeleteThough I hope whatever his next project will be will be a bit more though out than Emo Jones, Melvin and his Lets Play...
I knew it. Everybody kept telling me I was crazy, but I knew it!
DeleteBut seriously, it is pretty sad to see the Nostalgia Critic go, even if his recent reviews weren't as good.
If James quits, though, I have no idea what I'm gonna do.
I was hoping of NC to do one final review before he ended. I haven;t seen the Scooby Doo review but isn't it pretty standard? Kind of abrupt
DeleteI just wish the Critic could have done one final review solo without any cameos or crossovers (I would have downloaded into my pants if he crossover-ed with JewWario) of a really mediocre/infamous movie with above-par character designs (like the treatment given to Battlefield Earth). The last one he did that was well worth re-watching (IMO) was Signs.
DeleteAt least I'm glad Linkara addressed the repetitiveness of the crossovers when he reviewed the second of those Catwoman comics.
Thank god for that - at least ONE person has realised that the 'angry person doing angry reviews' fad is tapped out. Hope other people finally notice and give their own versions of the same thing a rest, too. I Doug well with his future endevours.
DeletePerhaps if the AVGN is done, maybe James and Doug can work on a new project together! Hope things work out well for Doug after five years of being the Nostalgia Critic. (Keep in mind the Nostalgia Critic was originally on YouTube in 2007 before he had his website about a year later.)
ReplyDeleteHey everybody. A couple of things.
ReplyDeleteI just heard about Doug Walker retiring the Nostalgia Critic (I spent the last 18 hours in the hospital, long story). Damn that sucks, but I wish him good luck on his future endeavors. I will continue to watch and support his work.
Second, IG posted a new video. Another video on Skylanders: Giants. Basically, he lists off the new figures in Series 2. That's it. It's immensely boring, and not worth recapping.
Apparently the fans seem to be tired of his Skylanders obsession as he's lost at least 81 subscribers according to SocialBlade.
Not to prod, but can you tell us what happened?
DeleteIt ended up being nothing major, but still something worth looking into. I'm okay now.
DeleteI'm sad about him retiring the Critic too BatDan, but the sendoff was epic.
Delete@BatDanNight:
DeleteTechnically, the Nostalgia Critic is NOT gone forever. There probably will be the occasional video with him, just not on a regular shedule.
About Skylanders: Bores constantly bashes Nintendo for being too kiddy, yet seems to be in love with Skylanders, a game designed to get as much cash out of children's wallet as possible. Talk about double standards Oo
Yeah I know he's not gone forever, but it's still sad.
DeleteOh shit, that's a good point! Hahaha oh wow.
Just watched his new Skylanders video. All I have to say is that Bores is a pompous douche if he thinks he's the ONLY person to report on the game, let alone the first given how long his E3 coverage took to come out.
ReplyDeleteThe PGR 3 footage was taken directly from the camera, while the others were done with a capture card. Why is that?
