Chris Promotes iOS Bloatware. Just Keep Digging Deeper!

I was going to save this video for a later post as I didn't want something so short. ... But then I watched it!

Last night, Chris uploaded a video promoting another crappy iOS app. This time something called "GetGiftz". You remember those old sites that said you could win cool stuff if you signed up for a bunch of shit or downloaded a bunch of programs, only to get bombarded with spam and computer-breaking viruses? Introducing the modern day iOS equivalent! It's an app that promises free gift cards... if you download a bunch of shitty apps. That's not dangerous at all!
You download the app, often having to fulfill an asinine requirement like "Reach Level 5" in some shitty RPG that probably has microtransactions out the ass, and then you get the points. Starting with 50, usually under 200 point a pop. How many do you need for a gift card? A $5 card is 2000 points. That's over 20 apps to download, you're going to hurt your phone or tablet with all that junk. That's not getting into the bigger rewards. You're better off just spending $5 of your own money than clogging your mobile device. If it even works as there's a lot of reviews stating they didn't get jackshit.
Chris, why would you promote this? Did you not do any rese- wait, I know he didn't. It's more than likely he saw the offer in his e-mail and took it without a second thought. He is so desperate for money. YouTube user Victor N made an excellent point in the comments. "Why not just hold up a sign "Will make YouTube video for food""

Screencap in case Chris deletes:
Oh and there's a shockingly sexist comment he made when going through the list of gift cards. He shows Target and says "I'm sure all the girlfriends out there will love that". ... What kind of sense does that make? Everyone shops at Target. It's affordable and has a lot of variety. It's not just women. The hell is wrong with you?

If this your idea of a "filler video" Chris, you need to reorganize your process. This shit is unacceptable, especially when it's something that can harm phones and tablets. If you're so desperate that you need to take all these brand deals, then maybe you should do some research on them for once in your life. This is your job, actually put in some effort.

Don't forget to download and backup the video. It's very likely he'll delete this one in a month or so (heavy dislikes).

  1. A tad off-topic here, but has anyone heard anything from Scottie? I know he's apparently no longer friends with Chris, because again apparently, he didn't like the way Chris was treating him.

But whatever the case, it might be cool to bring him here to the blog and hear about his times with Chris-O from his account.

    1. I'm surprised Scottie hasn't written a book about Chris like that actor from The Room. Would be interesting to hear his opinion on Chris.

      Delete
    2. Hard to say if Scottie would have enough material.

Half of The Disaster Artist is Greg's own biography, a lot of it centered around his time with Tommy Wiseau. The other half is about the production of The Room, with all sorts of trouble like changing actors, making actors cry, Tommy ALWAYS running late, trashing sets and building new ones, somehow taking THREE HOURS to film the "I did not hit her" scene (which lasts 7 seconds), trying to get Tommy not to laugh at Mark's story about the cheating girl that got assaulted, and so many other things that paint a picture on how that schlock somehow cost $6 million to make.

I can't imagine he can get much out of the production of Chris & Scottie Road Trip, which is just two guys standing in front a green screen and telling bad jokes.

    3. You would think Scottie would have a lot to say about Chris. Maybe stories about his ego.

    4. I guess that's why Chris doesn't have other people in videos (including Eric Allen if he really is gone). People probably refuse to work with him because of how obnoxious he is.

Honestly though, I think Eric Allen may have enough material to write his own version of The Disaster Artist.

      Delete
    5. Yeah, thinking about it now, Eric would have more material for a book like that.

    6. Yes Scottie AND Eric are still very much friends with Chris AND our family. Both these adult men are now husbands AND fathers and have no time to play act on utube. Stop making drama were none exists. Chris remains friends with all his friends from childhood but people have to grow up and the days of goofing around making videos takes the back seat to going out to work and raising a family. Hopefully one day your will be doing the same and be successful as they are at it?

If you can't address me in like fashion don't bother replying at all. Btw, using curse words makes you look small and ignorant as your childish comment. Nice thing for your future employer to have to read. At that rate no one will hire you. Oh wait, you might be voting for Bernie, guess you think you'll be getting everything for free and won't need to work for a living? :D

I've already said it before, but DON'T reply to LadyBuggin when she's on here. It's pointless. If you try to reason with her in any way, it'll lead to a long and pointless argument that will never get resolved. She's extremely hard-headed and refuses to take in any logic whatsoever. Just ignore her and she'll go away.

    16. @Scrythe> You do realize that the Irate Gamer is a video character personality and NOT the personality of Chris Bores, himself, don't you? Cursing as a YouTube made up angry vidoe game player character is NOT the same as using curse words while speaking as his own person, Chris Bores. That is the problem with this blog, none of you can separate fact from fiction. Nice try to justify your own use of vulgarity when posting to me because you are angry I actually spoke the truth instead of the fiction you are accustom to thinking. I wonder if you also feel the same way about James Rolfe's own personality vrs. his made up avgn internet personality? Some how I'm sure you would use double standards in that instance. Good day :D

    22. Really now, "Linda?" Is that why that whole "Opening Up" video where he spent the better part of an hour whining about the guy was made? Is that why that completely pointless potshot towards him at the end of "his" last "season" was thrown in? Is that why you never hesitate to mention him on this blog as though he has anything to do with any criticism lobbed "Chris'" way? Is that why you continue to comment here even when you said you would stop because it wasn't worth your time?

You're like a child trying to make it look like he's not chewing the cookies he stole from the cookie jar.

    23. ACTUALLY, all I ever do posting on this D-list blog is point out all your hypocrisies. Not to mention, adding truth to the clouded stories you all dream up just to pass the time in your mundane lives. I'm like a breath of fresh air compared to your muddied waters... You should be thanking me instead of going out of your way to "pretend" you have a major scoop on a non existent story.

    25. ok, "linda". i have to ask you something and please be honest.

why are you doing this? why are you here on this D-list blog? what is the point?

you can't be here to defend your son because if you are, then it's pretty damn sad that chris, a full grown man, needs his mom to defend him on the internet. i mean, i have a youtube channel and a twitter and i run into my fair share of haters and assholes. but i do not involve my mother in it. why? for one, my mom isn't very tech savvy when it comes to the internet. (she doesn't have a facebook or twitter). for another thing, my mom is a lawyer and a retired nurse. she has better things to do with her time than help me defend myself from trolls. i'm in my 30s. my mom knows i can handle myself when it comes to this shit.

so if this is really is linda bores, then you have no faith in your son to function on his own as a full grown man, especially when it comes to criticism of his, ahem, "talents". you don't see james asking his wife to fight his battles. nor do you see doug, joe, noah, lewis, brad, or any other big name internet celeb calling in their relatives when haters and trolls pop up. so you are doing your son no favors whatsoever by doing this. if anything, it makes him look even more pathetic than he already is.

now, if this chris, then you are deserving of every bad word, every harsh review, every sour comment that comes your way if you have to resort to using mommy to help you out.

now call me a hater all you want. but it doesn't change the fact that everything i've said is absolutely true.

  3. On a side note, what do you guys plan on doing for Pokemon's 20th? I'm getting Pokemon Yellow when the rerelease comes out, and I'll also buy the trading card sets. Not to mention all the planned distribution events. Still crossing my finger for Pokemon Z!

Also, would Yo-Kai Watch be worth gettiing to hold myself over till the next main series Pokemon game comes out?

    1. Due to how I am not into Pokémon as much anymore like I was growing up, I don't think I'll be doing much. Since I still have my original Red Version cartridge for my Game Boy Color (with the save battery still working), I'm not interested in the three versions releasing on the eShop at the end of this month.
However, Splatoon is holding a Pokémon-themed Splatfest next weekend where fans can pick either Red or Blue Versions for a team.
Seeing as how I've been enjoying Splatoon since I purchased it two months ago, that's probably the most I'm going to contribute to when it comes to Pokémon.

    2. Well, at least you're contributing to something.

    3. I have the 20th anniversary New 3DS preordered along with a Yellow code; since my black 3DS that I got when Y launched has seen a bit of mileage since then (the cartridge slot is a bit touchy, for starters). Also working on getting a mistake cleared up with Amazon for my Blu-ray copy of the first three movies (and a Lucas Amiibo). I have joined the Splatfest if anyone else wants to find me (my Wii U ID is StevenMP92); an I'm also on the lookout for the Mario Maker costumes of the original Kanto starters (there's a contingency for more). As for Yo-Kai: I'm not sure, since I'm conflicted about it since the demo went live (I'm mulling over getting a used copy of the game myself). That said, Super Mystery Dungeon is something that I'd recommend in lieu of a new mainline series game until it's announced, along with Ni No Kuni on PS3 (there's a sequel coming out for PS4 soon); and the Shin Megami Tensei franchise (Persona 4: The Golden in particular is the notable standout in the otherwise unremarkable Vita lineup for me). As for this new Pokémon in Magiana: I'll just deal with that as it comes. I'm definitely excited for all that's happening this coming year, so I'll be following the whole thing extensively. #Pokémon20

    4. Still debating on getting a Vita. I'd probably get the blue one since I already have a red 3DS. However, I'm afraid I'll buy it but barely touch it.

As for Mystery Dungeon, I'll consider it, since I'm not a fan of the games, but I'd be willing to give it another shot. Ni No Kuni I did have at one point, but now it's gone. I'll probably buy a used copy eventually.

The only game I'm getting in the future is Mega Man Legacy Collection, and I'm only getting it for that Mega Man amiibo.

    5. BTW, still hoping for the next mainline game to have environments like Yo-Kai Watch.

    7. @Ixey. Great, I'll be on the lookout for you next week. Working on upgrading my weapons and gear for the whole thing. As for the mainline games: I'm working on training for the Kanto Classic in OR/AS (even if I just to the minimum amount of battling, I'll get the Lance's Dragonite DLC, since I'm still relatively new to the competitive circuit) and filling in the blank spaces in my Pokédex in all my 3DS titles (I'm getting another Mew code before I go see Deadpool tomorrow, it will be at Gamestop till the 24th; since apparently Pokémon Company is alternating between them and Nintendo Network for the event Legendaries). I don't know about using Yo-Kai as a model; Sergio, but if Game Freak can build on how impressive Kalos was and their redesign of Hoenn was; I'd be very grateful (when I played those titles for the first time, I went through the same emotions I did when I played Super Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Metroid Prime for the first time; and still do).

    8. @StevenPR-92
I think Pokemon games also need more post game content. I only play Omega Ruby either to check StreetPass, see if any Legendaries come up, or to enter in a code. The story with Rayquaza was good but I want to see more.

Also, as another side note, can anybody recommend me some games on the Japanese or PAL PSN Store? Specifically Classics, but if anybody has any other suggestions that's fine too.

      Delete
    9. I don't know about the Japanese one; but my personal favorite in any language is Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped; my all-time favorite PS1 game (I'm also excited about Naughty Dog potentially reviving the series). My usual process after I beat the Elite Four and Champion is to fill in the blank spaces in my Pokédex, which typically keeps me busy for some time. I've also been getting into the online capabilities; even if I'm not the best at the competitive Level (mostly doing the Kanto Classic for the Lance's Dragonite DLC, but it should be an interesting experience all the same). Also planning on getting the 25th anniversary Metal Gear collection soon too; I hope I can get my PSN account up and running on my PS3 so I can use the download codes for the original Metal Gear Solid and VR Missions (my plan is to play all of that collection before I consider getting Phantom Pain, so I'll understand what's going on. Even if the story is very complex; it will probably be easier for me to grasp than why Konami burned bridges with a talented developer like Kojima, then barred him from accepting awards for his game after it garnered accolades and sold millions. I'll just deal with their focus shifting to mobile development as it comes; to say nothing of their desire to make a sixth MGS game without his involvement.). Also, I am a bit of a Streetpass junkie; to the point where my 3DS has been on my person at all times and the wireless function is only really turned off when it has to be (like in a hospital or on a plane). I end up meeting all sorts of interesting characters that way.

    10. Yesterday I got Jumping Flash, and it's pretty good. The next Classic I'll be getting is either Chulip or Darkstalkers.

      Delete
    9. I bet he will bash Super Mario Bros. 3 by the end of this year.

    10. I don't know about him making any mushroom jokes; since the GI Joe "Review" had the "Snow Job/Blowjob" bit as opposed to the way more obvious joke of the character's name being a cocaine slang term; which even Family Guy and Robot Chicken did. At least when you-know-who did SMB3, he did it in a not-entirely-serious manner that culminated in the game becoming possessed and taking it out because of that (as well as combining it with a look at The Wizard, which introduced the game to audiences in the US). Boring Man would probably shamble through the later stages and abuse his Game Genie even more than usual (like having a supply full of P-wings at the start without clearing the game first). All the while rocking off to his obsession with the '80s (despite the fact the game first came stateside in 1990).

He may have been too busy with the infamous "Back to the Past" film to be horning in on that. I could easily see scads of comments retorting with the likes of kung-fu fire pigs, samurai otters, grass snakes the size of a Buick, as well as giant stone robots and genetically-engineered cyborgs with at least five unique drive abilities.

      Delete
    2. To head off the inevitable rebuttal: In the game, the Cyberman does indeed ride upon the Dalek like a vehicle. However, Bores says "And of course, the Dalek is his vehicle." That is the least of-coursiest of-course in this history of fandom. "Bizarrely" is the more fitting term than "of course." And I don't even know whether the Cybermen and the Daleks ever teamed up.

      Delete
    3. Well they did but it wasn't exactly a situation that would lead to Cybermen riding Daleks.

They didn't get along well either.

      Delete
    4. As I recall, their history never was the friendliest; but I don't think Boring Man understands the show's history well enough to make a competent joke about that. At most, his thought process extended to the Seltzer/Friedberg mentality of "it exists, therefore, I must reference it." All the same, I think Tennant can put it succinctly: "I don't like it."

    5. Ok, so I posted a reply to someone who asked if Bores was retiring (this was one his Lego Dimensions video BTW). So, as a fan of Harley ever since The Animated Series; I am once again flabbergasted at Boring Man's idiocy (like with him badmouthing Raven in Injustice; when she's essentially the daughter of the DCU equivalent of Satan; being a master sorceress who's even a thinly-closeted Pegasister in some continuities). 20. So, has anyone else seen Deadpool yet? I caught a showing on Valentine's day; and I thought it was incredible. I think it's safe to say the character has been redeemed after that discount Baraka in Origins Wolverine (which the film took a couple swipes at; as well as the fact that it's no longer canon thanks to Days of Future Past). It was bloody hilarious, hard-R goodness; and the fact that it made more in its opening weekend than the new Fantastic Four did in its entire run definitely puts the planned sequel on solid footing (as well as Fox finally making that oft-delayed X-Force movie).

    1. No, you're not. I've been a fan of him ever since I was 5 (when I got a Genesis and a copy of Sonic 2 for Christmas). While he may not always have the best games; the milestone in itself is a testament to how many still like the chracter. Even though it's been 15 years since Sega stopped making consoles; he's the ideal antithesis to Mario. I hope whatever they have planned; it's at least as good as Generations was. I honestly don't think we as humanity are capable of another game like Rise of Lyric or the 2006 game (though at least the new show is decent and Sonic Team's new staff acknowledged the 2006 game was a mistake).

  25. I know it's been over three years since that horrible E-begging spoof, but I personally think that it is currently the worst thing that Chris has ever done. I'll give Chris the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe he legitimately didn't think his Justin Carmichael were wrong and that he wasn't purposely trying to offend anybody (still doesn't excuse them though, he still needs to learn how to keep certain remarks to himself). That E-begging video was Chris purposely trying to attack James Rolfe when he was down in a desperate attempt to regain fans. He legitimately was trying to hurt somebody with that video. Personally, I think it is probably the greatest example of Chris REALLY crossing the line.

Off topic, I know. But then again, Chris isn't doing anything worth talking about.

"It's the current year, yet BatDan still posts about the Irate Gamer and Chris Bores and/or his mother are shitposting against random manchildren on the internet. Some things never change."

"Can't for sure say who is the most pathetic among them, but I suspect it's BatDan. Bores posts a video and most of the world ignores it, but BatDan feels the need to write a 3000 word essay on it. I also find it interesting that he's obsessed with getting Bores to admit that he has a job outside of making videos. 33. I admit that I use a couple of gift card apps but I never download anything in exchange for credits. One is a kind of lottery scratcher ticket app (yes, I have actually won money with it.)

Chris left a couple of important points out of his review.

    1. How long does it take to earn a gift card? Use the app and earn a $5 gift card and tell us if it took a week, a month or a year or however long it took.

    2. How long does it take to receive your gift card after you redeem your points? I have heard that some take two weeks or even 30 days. Imagine slaving away at some app to earn a $5 gift card and then having to wait for weeks to get it.

Chris literally opened his account and then began filming his "review" video. That is a huge disservice to his fans. A 13 year old, a disabled person or somebody with limited resources for earning money might like this app. Most people would be better off taking a small job from a services website if they quickly need a few dollars.

    1. Well, the results for the recent Splatfest have been tallied and...

Despite its higher popularity (55%-45%), Pokémon Red lost to Pokémon Blue by a total of 98 points (301-399), the biggest point difference gap in any North American Splatfest (even surpassing the 90-point difference gap in the Naughty vs. Nice Splatfest back in mid-December).
Even though I stood by Pokémon Red and am disappointed that the team lost, I still had a lot of fun participating in the Splatfest.

Also, I am so excited for Saturday as a lifelong fan; plan on chartering a ride to get my 20th anniversary New 3DS and Yellow code. Last but not least, I finally managed to get this mess with Amazon straightened out, since I finally have my Lucas Amiibo and my Blu-Ray of the first three movies is on the way (I'll just deal with everything concerning Magearna as it comes). While Boring Man's video was the start of all this Family Guy nonsense in lieu of actually talking about the game; I'm definitely liking Jon's more varied reactions to what he talks about, as well as how he often mocks the conventions of the usual "caustic critic" persona that's become so widespread. 45. So I don't know how many people here know(or care) but last night TeamFourStar had their YouTube account taken down, it's back up now though. However it made me wonder, why has Chris never any copyright infringement happen to him? I would say it's because he's too small time(which would be hilarious given how much he's bragged about being the 58th most subscribed channel once) but I've seen people with far less subscribers than Chris having videos(or their own channel) taken down. When you get to "Rock 'em Sock 'em Robot Boxing": "References are not jokes!"

When Chris says "Wow!" when bringing up the graphics and sound and how Dragonfire's dragon looks different on the cartridge art than in the game: "Oh, my god! Who... the hell... cares?" as said by Peter Griffin

When Chris says the Intellivision controller has "12,000% more buttons"-- using the Family Feud strike graphic and buzzer

When he can't figure out how to play Horse Racing-- "Check out the enclosed instruction book!" from Hotel Mario

When Bores asks if the Beauty and the Beast game should be called King Kong-- use the TPIR fail horns

When Ronnie asks "Pac-Who?" and Bores says "Coming up next..."-- using Vivica from Star Darlings yelling "ARE YOU... KIDDING MEEEEE?!" (she says it at 0:50 in this clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIY439b6b_c )
