Oh god so much Puppet Steve, and I imagine it's mostly the same crap. Chris is so lazy, and "safe", meaning that he won't try anything new. I can just tell it's all the same, it's always been for months. Do kids really like seeing the same thing over and over?
What has he posted? More Powerpuff Girls 2016. I don't think that show's doing well, Cartoon Network isn't spamming it like they do with Teen Titans Go and Gumball. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes off the air soon. Then again if morons like Chris keep buying the toys, it will probably last.
A look at the Sonic set in Lego Dimensions, wow you are late! That came out in November, what the fuck have you been doing?
Then I looked ahead and saw him reviewing Mario Kart 8 Happy Meal Toys. How desperate are you? This is the worst tie-in ever since he's only doing this for the release of the Switch. What makes this even worse is that these are OLD, as in 2014! WHAT THE HELL?! Why do you think anyone wants to watch you play with 3 year old toys that do nothing?! How dumb are you Chris? Then again, being late to the party has always been a thing for him.
Also, Zombie Steve is wearing red now. Because "he needed a new shirt" according to the comments. You are so retarded Chris.

To add on more off-topic, I want to ask you guys: Do you think Konami can get back into the gaming industry, like bring their A-game (pun totally intended)? These past few years has been turbulent for their gaming department (the pachinko dept. is going well though, to my knowledge).
DeleteTheir older games like Contra and Gradius (I grew up with the SNES, so the NES ones are not as memorable to me) have been quite fun for me. I have never tried Metal Gear Solid before though.
The advent of a sudden Bomberman revival seems like a fairly decent attempt. Although many still believe that even if Konami were to jump back into the gaming wagon, their long-built trust has crumbled for good. But as times change and management changes hands, there could still be a turn around. We must wait.

ReplyDeleteOf course its entirely up to BatDan what he does with this blog, but since he allows us to put our two cents in, I will concur about the list part, and add this: Maybe/hopefully he will do some list thingies in "honor" of IG's upcoming tenth anniversary near the end of April. And as far as ending the blog goes, I think it has some life in it. I would love to see it do some "final" breakdown on Bores years on the Channel Formerly Known As IrateGamer. That could in parts come in the form of lists. But I'm thinking that there are so many aspects of Bores IG career years that the blog could go on for a good while. He had so many things he tried to do on that channel (IG, IGN,I80s, box wars, movie reviews (he even briefly gave them their own title "Irate Cinema"), box wars, book reviews, Road Trip, Box Wars, Tech Reviews, motherfucking fuck fuck fucking Skyfuckinglanders, etc) (edit: how could I have forgotten HOVG) I think a good list type idea would be ranking his series or video types in order of worst to best. How about top ten moments of his "war" with AVGN? (Maybe a final post that is like a timeline of the events of it, though I guess that video that Ben fellow did on the IG opens up video covered that pretty thoroughly perhaps). Hell, I know this would be very pretentious of him, but I think BD/the blog deserves its own best of list (top 2 to me would be getting Ralph Baer to watch/opine on that HOVG episode and breaking the news on Pubta). And who knows, maybe that blockhead puppet and its string puller will do something interesting or that will keep this blog going. The year end list is sure gonna be different this year, that's for sure.

My guess is that Chris didn't want to pay full price for the new movie toys whereas the ones he showed can be found in clearance bins.
Anything that gets any recognition these days is rated PG-13 or above.

I'm not sure how he could do it and make sense (not that making sense has stopped some of Bores' other "creative" endeavors), but I think Pubta should have some sort of retro corner type segment (or 2 to 4 minute video I guess). Think,"hey kids Pubta Steve here!! You know those (insert old franchise that is still popular or came back and is successful with kids) you all love? Well,after doing some research, I've learned something that will flip some emoji poop!! The(franchise/toy thing) was something your mommy or daddy may have played with when they were your age!!!! Not only are they funny and informative, but they also respect opposing opinions (ex: Johnny's favorite Zelda is Link to the Past, but he understands why many people love Ocarina of Time). Plus, their fanbases aren't as toxic as many other youtubers. One thing I think these youtubers should do is call out their fans when they step out of line like this! Are they cowardly or something?

ReplyDeleteI hear a lot of good reviews, but for all the wrong reasons in my opinion. A lot of people like it because it's some deep complicated story about troubled teens. That's fine on its own, but this is Power Rangers we're talking about. There are just some things you should not make into this deep dark complicated story. Sure it worked with Batman, maybe with Ninja Turtles. I would have liked to have a movie where the teens were these great role models who did martial arts at Ernie's Juice Bar and have the antics of Bulk and Skull, and then fight putties and the monster of the day. Maybe the movie makers wanted to make a Neon Genesis Evangelion movie but couldn't get the rights so they did Power Rangers instead.
I hate that they're trying to make everything dark and gritty! And the less I say about the costumes, the better!

I enjoyed it, but its indecisive nature.really bugs the hell out of me. The mix of light hearted nature of the franchise doesnt mix well with the movie's dark and edgy nature, which creates a very messy experience for anyone wanting some aspects of the original updated while still remember that it is still just as fun as Mighty Morphin.

He'd say that it would be like calling Super Mario Bros. Super Princess Peach Bros. He'd probably also use the drunk Link bit again.
He'd also put in a bunch of clips from the CD-i games. Because, you know, THAT meme isn't totally overdone and dead today.

DeleteI don't know, he did a video on South Park and Rick and Morty figures. He doesn't have a target audience with this channel. All he cares about is money. So if someone pays him to look at it, he'll do it without a second thought.

I know it's been pretty quiet here on the blog, but I just thought I'd address the newest Puppet Steve video. "Puppa Steve" looks at "Bootleg" FNAF figures. So either Chris is looking at illegal toys, or he has no idea what "bootleg" means.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be the closest that Chris has come to doing an actual review on this channel since he actually points out flaws with the toys and how they look almost nothing like the FNAF characters. But it still fails, as he throws in out-of-nowhere positive comments at the end. "Even though they could've been made a little bit better, this is the best way to do that."...How? These figures are clearly very poorly made. He even says they're "cheaply made" in the video. I guess because "I can't be really negative or I won't make money." I don't know, I guess it's somewhat of a step up from the other videos since he actually attempts a review, but it's still terrible. And the jokes are horrible, like always.
Also, the only reason I even watched the video is because he put "bootleg" in the title. I was legitimately curious to see if Chris was reviewing something illegal.
I know this has been said before if I remember correctly, but Pubta is basically a bootleg Minecraft puppet, how appropriate that he would review bootleg toys from another game

Deleteof course lots of us want to see some kind of list(s), and some of what I am about to spew have been spewed before, but: Its obviously up to BatDan what he wants to do with this (and this applies to list askers and those thinking the blog should end) blog, and maybe he thinks do a worst of list would be just cannibalizing his year end lists. On that note, I looked through his year end lists, and added a few that were not listed, for examples of what I would considered his actual worst (as in actions or things in his videos that could be construed as unethical/insensitive/hypocritical, not bad jokes/misinformation/etc) and came up with 16 of these kind moments (though maybe some of these could fit into one general entry). And add obligatory "multiple lists" comment since there are so many aspects to Bores exploits over the last ten years. And here is one reason the blog should continue to exist: For all the talk about Pubta being irrelevant/a possible fad with a short shelf life/or whatever, it is actually quite popular and therefore relevant on some level. Maybe its good for Batdan to once a month make a report on the misinformation in the videos. And if it is just a fad that crashes, it would be worth chronicling that. It is also interesting, because there is still a level of mystery to Steve, I think it is only a relatively small group that knows its Bores, despite him making some small nods. The only other entertainment type thing I can think of that was able to maintain that kind of hidden identity is the weirdo avante garde band The Residents.
