R.I.P. Satoru Iwata (1959-2015)

On July 11th 2015, we lost a brilliant man. Someone that provided years of entertainment and joy to millions of people.
President of Nintendo Satoru Iwata passed away at 55.
Before fully joining Nintendo in 2000, he worked for HAL Laboratory. Helping to create Balloon Fight, the Mother series, and the Kirby series. Iwata was also responsible for compressing Pokemon Gold & Silver enough so that both Johto and Kanto could be accessible.
In 2002 he became Nintendo's fourth president after Hiroshi Yamauchi's retirement. In his tenure he saw over excellent games like Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros for Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and so much more.
His is a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Thank you Mr. Iwata.

  1. May he rest in peace.

And let's hope Bores doesn't try to make a "tribute" video to him like he did to Leonard Nimoy...

    1. If he does, then he truly does not deserve to be making money off of Nintendo's work.

    2. On Friday: "Uh, earlier this week, a Nintendo guy and fellow gamer called Sar-tour-roh Eye-water died aged 55. Uh, he made a lot of cool games like Kirby and Smash Bros, both of which I've already reviewed so be sure to check out my channel. Also, make sure to subscribe if you want more breaking news." Followed by Dr Wily appearing and screaming "I couldn't save him," then exploding for no reason while the PSone start-up tune plays in the background.

    3. Well, seeing as how Bores is now a parody of himself, the video you described seems 100% likely to happen.

  3. I'm typing this with a Triforce drawn on my left hand. He will be missed as a man I admired.

  4. I couldn't believe the story at first since i first read about it on 4chan, but yes, it's true, unfortunately.

I may have not agree with the direction he was taking the company, but i give my condolences to his family and friends.

    Rest in Piece.

  5. While you may not be with us anymore, Mr. Iwata, we will understand. No matter what people say about Nintendo nowadays, we will continue to always understand.

My condolences to Mr. Iwata's friends and family. I am positive that there are many bananas for him to stare intently at up in heaven. May he rest in peace.

  6. A sad loss to the gaming industry. One of the last true luminaries, a man who didn't care what was 'cool' or what he thought would make good social commentary or appease the mainstream hacks. He didn't try to manipulate audiences or include forced morals or gritty art work or appeal to the 'adult' audience (something that I've no doubt Bores will criticise him for if he makes a 'tribute' video). He just worked on games that he felt would be inclusive for all ages, games whose bouncy visuals and music often betrayed simple yet incredibly gratifying and challenging gameplay. Basically he got it right, while other developers try so hard to be 'artsy' or to tackle exaggerated social issues for the sake of their own ego that they forget what makes a game a game.

    RIP Satoru Iwata.

    1. That really is true. If you look at the leaders of other video game corporations, they never really even seem to use the term "fun" when talking about their games.

    2. That's just because fun is subjective. Personally, I love war games like shooters and strategy games, which is why I was never much of a Nintendo guy (though I did like Advance and Battalion Wars).

    3. Dude, I respect your opinion, but was that comment really necessary?

    4. Was Bigot's comment or yours necessary?

  8. Ok everyone lets take a bet. How much do you guys think Bores is going to talk shit about his death. He promoted off Nimoy's death earlier this year and he talked shit about JewWario's death last year. If Chris actually shit talk Iwata's death, please Holme as Jesus even though it's obvious that he'll probably do that and LadyBuggon will defend it.

    1. Iactually meant hail me as Jesus but my iPhone made a shitty correction.

    2. Well, Iwata died of cancer, so I don't know what Bores would have to talk shit about him for (unless he says that he made too kiddy stuff or should have left the company or whatever). But, knowing him, he could always pull the subscriber plug to fuck it up.

    3. Lets hope he doesn't and that his stupid ass mother won't intervene.

    4. And leaving ads in to "monetize" the video like he did when he did the Nimoy tribute...

    1. ...Until now, I had no idea there was even an FNaF 2 or 3. That just about says it all.

    2. They're both really good, you should try playing them.

    3. Once again, the game may be released earlier than scheduled. Fine with me, they are pretty cool.

    4. According to Scott, the Halloween date was never meant to be the actual release date of the game. Instead, he'll be apparently releasing DLC then.

  10. Guess we're not getting a Tuesday video.

    1. To be fair, do we really want Bores to make any more shitty videos?

      Delete
    2. Yes, so we can make fun of them. Imagine if a lost Ed Wood movie was discovered... Bores does that for us twice a week. At least, he used to.

    3. Now even he just doesn't give a fuck anymore.

  11. New video's up. A "Tech Review." Meh.

    1. I really don't know who his target audience is. It seems to be for kids 7-12 years old, but he uses a lot of excess swearing while reviewing games that age demographic never heard of...

Anyways, I sure hope Chris didn't buy stock in the company that made this video door phone. I mean, it won't be long before you could do the same thing with your ipad.
