So the other day he posted a compilation of the first season of Irate Gamer. That's every episode from Back to the Future to Yo Noid. Before each one he had some commentary about the episode. I'll give them a look later on... maybe... it's probably full of lies like a lot of other things he says.
He also mentioned on Facebook that his first attempt to post it was met with copyright claims. Looking into the video, the commentary bits have him in an Arcade with loud music playing, including Van Halen's Jump. Was that it? Maybe it was the Back to the Future footage because it's cut from the start of the episode. Who knows...
Another thing he mentioned on Facebook? The subject of the next video. Nintendo Cereal System. The officially endorsed cereal from 1988. What is his obsession with cereal? I don't get it. Chris really needs to stop shoe-horning his cereal reviews into everything he does. Nobody cares. Especially over a 32 year old cereal that probably tastes like cobwebs and vomit. At least the Funko cereal he keeps bringing up on Puppet Steve is new and edible (allegedly). Also, how the hell is he going to get a 10 minute video out of moldy old cereal?
Speaking of the literal puppet, nothing has really changed over there. It's all the same videos over and over. Though he did post one about alleged "leaks" for the second Sonic movie and that it has Knuckles. Didn't click the video because it's obvious clickbait, but I did look up if Knuckles is going to be in the sequel. Nothing has been confirmed, just other trashy bait sites like Screenrant saying "IT MIGHT HAPPEN". Only thing we know is that a sequel is coming in 2022. Assuming movie theaters still exist and aren't destroyed by the pandemic and the new Great Depression. What a cherry note to end on!
I guess see you when the cereal video is out, if I decide it's worth covering.

DeleteI will never understand that we now apparently live in an alternate universe where Irate Gamer is good. He's still the same unfunny hack from 2007 but now since he did that quote unqote "crossover" he's now given a second chance. People don't tend to listen but he in 2018 tried to get a documentary about him taken down despite that video being unbiased. Chris better hope there's never a Down The Rabbit Hole video on him because if he false flagged that then he'd get even more shit than he did in 2007, especially since the average fan of Fredrik's would've likely never heard of Chris.

Who the hell is that?" or "Irate Gamer is still around?" Those stupid "Chris and James are friends! Get a life!" Would just be a vocal minority on Fredrik's video. Considering Fredrik's audience is significantly bigger than Chris' and his videos get a lot more views...yeah, Chris would be totally screwed if a DTRH video were made about him. Not sure if it would ever actually happen, but man would it be all too satisfying.

Fredrik can easily include stuff like Ralph Baer's diss on Chris, Chris' JewWario comments, the OutNerd The Nerd Contest, and numerous things I didn't include in my video.

You really should see his season 1 compilation, at least skim through the commentary. He mentions how he somehow learned the phrase "shitload of fuck" for his Mission Impossible review and revealed the "truth" about how he "accidentally" used AVGN's phrase. Even still, he uses the edited version of his Mission Impossible review that replaced it. He also trims a lot of things that aren't even copyrighted material, like his Wicker Man joke from his Ghosts and Goblins review

DeleteEven if it's obsessive I would think the intent of telling him to stop countless times if not currently obsessive borders on. If Bores retirement at the time didn't convince him to retire the blog, why would comments made now change that?
That said I do find that Silent Spring and those commenting as he harshly does isn't helping the Pro-BD Blog side to look better or assuming all posters to be Bores or Ladybuggin.

ReplyDeleteIt is not a terrible video but it seems that Chris cannot help but repeatedly overact about inane details. Yes, Chris. Rare items from decades ago can fetch high prices from collectors. Look at how much Transformers fans are willing to pay for styrofoam inserts from G1 toy boxes.
I think it was a good video. Chris actually cares about those things and it shows. The song at the end became annoying after a couple of minutes, though.

DeleteMy best analysis for why Chris suddenly got a boost of new fanboys and "respect" recently:
ReplyDeleteAs infamous as Chris Bores is, he is and kind of always was, a total nobody. When he became "well-known" back in the late 2000s, I don't think many people actually watched his content. Most people that actually did see his videos just saw how much he paled in comparison to AVGN and immediately stopped caring about him, not even bothering to really analyze what specifically made his content bad. "AVGN clone" was what Chris became known as and he was so insignificant compared to other YouTubers and other popular videos (I don't think 55th place was really all that impressive back in 2008, especially with how young the platform was at the time and how it was just barely becoming popular) that very little people actually bothered to watch his videos just to see how bad they were. Of the small people that actually watched an analyzed his videos, most of them were able to see how terrible his content was and how there were more problems than just being an AVGN clone (BatDan obviously being one). What I'm saying is people likely cared so little about Chris Bores that they didn't even see any reason to analyze his videos.
Then gaming channels got bigger over the years and Chris became more of a nobody to the point that he was forgotten completely, with many not knowing he's even around anymore. Only a few people, like followers of this blog, even continued to keep up with him. But then James Rolfe, who remains well-known and loved to this day, does a collab with him, and IG's name goes out again. With "AVGN clone" being what Chris was known to by most people, that title was seen as "outdated" because of this collab. Because of how much of a nobody Chris is, nobody cared enough about him to even find out about his many other flaws. Therefore, this collaboration means his flaws are "gone". Therefore, there's NOTHING wrong with IG to them.
I guess now it makes sense why Doug Walker seems to be more hated than Chris Bores these days. Because Doug actually was a big name at one point and people actually cared enough about him to keep up with drama about him. Chris Bores is so insignificant on the internet that very people would keep up with any drama about him and even then, people would quickly even stop caring about him. I mean, look at Game Dude. I'm sure most people would agree the things that he did are much worse than anything that Doug Walker was involved in, but that's never brought up since very few people ever gave a shit about Game Dude.
Bottom Line: The reason why Chris' many flaws are never acknowledged is because very few people even give a shit about him and never really gave a shit about him to begin with. Because he's a nobody.
