Chris has done a few things outside of IG.
Pushing more Ghost Doctor, including symbols that rip-off the Green Lantern Emotional Spectrum, and his “classification of spirits” that sounds more like a bad TTRPG.
In November 2021, he published another book. It’s about the Sandusky Mall in his hometown.
It’s harmless. Nothing to say other than his marketing skills are still garbage (saying it covers the “scandals” when I couldn’t find anything about Sandusky Mall scandals).
But if he wants to focus more on this, that’s fine. Less likely he’ll run afoul of another community.
This year, there hasn’t been much.
On Facebook, he posted another rant about the gaming industry, adding them to his list of “people and groups that caused my channel to fail”. When he once again claimed he could write a book, his fans called his bluff and demanded to hear what he knew. He backed down hard, stating “it’s all in the past and God will punish them”. All the comments calling him out were deleted. Since then, he hasn’t brought it up. Not until he needs his remaining fans to fellate his ego.
He's also planning to remaster Season 4. The one that’s already HD. Feels like he’s purposely going out of his way not to make new IG content.
As I said at the beginning, I made the timeline for a couple purposes. To help content creators if they want to do a “Rise and Fall” video, and to give material to the lost media community. But there’s another reason, and I imagine some of you have figured it out.
I am done.
This time for good. Even if he comes back, I will not. Doing this is just boring now. His videos have no redeeming content to them, they’re just a slog. It’s clear he’s never going to improve his videos by this point.

Thanks for the years of entertainment, Dan. Go forth and enjoy the rest of your life. As someone who recently cut all ties with a certain long-standing but very mentally draining hobby, I think you'll find that life outside the Internet is freaking amazing.
Honestly, since I've been accused of kissing Dan's ass by Chris' fans and my critics, I'm supportive of this blog coming to an end. It is literally impossible to convince Bores to change his content or release methods. I've tried to help him, other content creators have tried to help him but Bores just won't learn from his past mistakes.

ReplyDeleteOne last thing, BatDan, Police Academy is a good movie, so your comment about it being "a group of annoying comic relief characters that are about as relevant as the Numa Numa guy" is dreadfully outdated, because like I said before, people who rip on the Police Academy movies forget what they were all about in the first place: just because someone doesn't match up to other people's standards doesn't mean they can't be a hero.
If you want more proof then watch the first PA film's end credits, which plays the song "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" by Jack Mack & The Heart Attack, which really fits that message to a T.
Here's hoping Police Academy 8 gets made, regardless of whether it will kick ass or totally suck.

I agree with BatDan, he's just not interesting to follow anymore. I had actually begun to lose interest in Chris a LONG time ago, but I kept reading the blog because I did find BatDan's posts interesting to read and enjoyed some of the conversations here. But yeah, I definitely won't be keeping up with Chris' channel or looking at his bizarre Facebook posts after the blog is closed. So yeah, even if some other group opens about Chris or Irate Gamer, I definitely won't be joining that.

ReplyDeleteFrom my years of life experience, I am confident with stating that no matter how much (constructive) criticism is laid out to help someone, there are a LOT of people out there that will never -- ever -- help themselves to learn + improve. Perpetual denial, arrogance and hubris is what it is. A camel can be led to a river, but it can't be made to drink from it.
(Alternatively if that gives way too much credit, they may simply be exceedingly fucking stupid / dense).
Bores is almost 40.* The rational / sane inference is that at this point no amount of criticism or 'outreach' is going to work into that thick skull of his.

From your doppelganger that trolled the blog, to your feud with asalieri to actually having Bores read this blog and PrinceMario not shutting the fuck up sometimes (sorry), I was here for it all. I gotta admit, I was concerned for your psyche because of your "obsession" with Bores, but in reality, it doesn't take that much to set aside a couple of hours to write about this hack. This blog was a big part of my early adult life between ages 18-21 and I would actively read this blog, instead of giving views to Bores. He has blocked me long ago when I blasted him in that tekken review, which is by far, to me, the absolute worst video he's ever done. Once Bores reveled what we all knew in that failed podcast of his, I feel that's when everything gaming related just stopped for him, even with the AVGN crossover. So I'll just say thanks for all these years of shitting on Bores, he gets no sympathy or respect from me, and BatDan... vaya con Dios.

After the comments finally close I will most likely not be checking this blog nor will I be watching any of Chris' videos old or new.

DeleteI will admit that reading the Chris Chan wiki can be interesting, but good god, I personally think the trolling and documenting of his life went WAY too far. I mean, doing a blog about a person is one thing, but visiting their house to dig through their trash can in order to find dirt on them is something much different (yes that actually once happened).

ReplyDeleteOof! In the S4 remaster Chris claims that there was no information about the earliest history of video games on the internet. (Not YouTube, the entire internet.) He says there was no information about there being both one and two player versions of Space War arcade machines before his video.

It must be a slog tying to keep it going all this time when Chris continuously gives you nothing to work with, and keeps doing the same shit over and over again. We all know he's never gonna get any better, and his antics have lost a lot of their entertainment value in recent years.
Though I remebered seeing some of his videos way back in the day and didn't like him then, it wasn't until I discovered this blog a few years later that I learned what a delusional and awful human being he was on top of his shitty content. And your commentary never stopped being entertaining the whole time.
It's been fun. had some good laughs, read some interesting exchanges in the comments, and loved reading the testmonies from former fans who finally woke up to who he really is. Good luck to whatever your next venture is, Dan.
