It's the gaming industry's fault that my channel failed!

I've been working on a big project for the blog. I'll try to post it some time next month.

But now, we have more "tinfoil Chris".
Posted on Facebook.

Wow. That is a lot to take in.
Chris once again blaming someone other than himself for his channel going downhill. So that's James Rolfe, Machinima, YouTube being different, and now the entire gaming industry.  What next? The NWO?

Let's break this down.

"The media taking money from the government to talk about what they want". Do you have a source for this? Are you talking about Russia or the US?
It's obvious that billionaires control the media along with the government. This isn't a shock.

"Video game world just as guilty" ... No shit. Have you not been paying attention to the news for the last several years?
Employees are subjected to horrid work conditions (months of crunch), incomplete games are shipped out in a broken state to appease shareholders, live service games taking over to the detriment of quality, racism is rampant, sexual misconduct is rampant, reviewers are bribed, etc etc.

There is so much wrong with the industry. You are not surprising anyone.

"One of the main reasons I stopped going to E3" Bullshit. The likely reason is that GotGame didn't have the money to fly you out. Your E3 coverage wasn't even that popular outside of a couple videos. They probably weighed the costs vs the benefits.

"ultimately hung up the Irate Gamer" I guess this is admission that he's done again? Even though a few days ago he asked his fans if they want another episode. Who knows...

"I could write a book about what I saw" This again? Just write the fucking book already! Expose all those dirty secrets you've hidden away. Or post them on social media, I feel that would get more eyes on it.

"Look at my career around 2010 and see I was heading to the top" No you were not. You stagnated around that point. Making mistakes that were your own fault. A combination of poor quality reviews (notably Tekken 6 and God of War III) along with a slower upload schedule resulted in subscribers jumping off. When a review would come out, fans would state it was not worth the long wait.
I know you like to think this, but there was no larger conspiracy to end your career.

"There are reasons why that path didn't continue" Can I get you a mirror?

"The entire video game industry is tainted, and if you choose not to believe me, here's a small nugget to start making you think that you can research yourself" DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! Never a good sign when someone says this.

His evidence? E3 manipulates the attendance numbers. ... All events do that. There's never an exact number of how many people attend. This isn't a big deal.

"Why do you think they let regular people in..." Because the people wanted it.

"..top game developers decided to pull out" Because year after year, it becomes apparent that E3 is getting obsolete. Why put together a massive trade show when you can put out a 40 minute video and generate way more hype. If anything showed us that E3 is pointless, just look at the 2021 event. Everyone was digital, and we got the news anyway.

"Ask why hundreds of media outlets would suddenly stop covering an event" I'm sorry, what? Do you have names of these media outlets? If anyone stopped, it was due to the site shutting down, not thinking it's "morally wrong" or whatever. E3 is covered every year by every major outlet. What are you even talking about?

Once again, Chris takes a scandal he likely read on a far-right Facebook page and made it about himself. It's just like during the pandemic when E3 was cancelled, and he called out GameSpot for "taking over the show" and pushing him out. It still doesn't make sense.

Please Chris, tell us what you know. Gaming enthusiasts are willing to listen. There's no need for a book.

Update: Chris explains why he never came forward, and why he still won't.

So he didn't come forward because they are "so very powerful" as shown by his revenue stream suddenly cutting in half. I find that very hard to believe. I'm wondering who "they" is referring to.

Update 2: More responses, and Chris tries to  backpedal.

Let me get this straight. You claim to have this Earth-shattering information that could blow open YouTube and the gaming industry, but you won't share it because you "moved on" and claim God will sort it out. That is cowardly. Assuming he does have incriminating info and he's not just talking out of his ass.
For those curious, here's Steven's full statement that Chris is responding to (that I doubt he read)

  1. I think it's safe to say that Chris has really gone off the deep end, even more so than in years past.

  2. Breaking the scandal to a stunned world that Super Mario Bros 2 is really Doki Doki Panic just takes it out of a guy. Add that work to the litany of Sandusky Mall scandals he exposed, and I'd say Chris has done enough for humanity.

  3. Thx for capping the 2nd Update, he already deleted the comment of Steve

  4. The fact that Chris is utterly incapable of admitting that he destroyed his own channel prevents him from improving his craft.

Don't forget that the James Rolfe + Machinima + gaming industry conspiracy theory isn't the only excuse Chris has used to cover up his poor results. He also blamed the "higher ups" of the paranormal community for suppressing his ghost behaviorist nonsense.

  5. Wow! I haven't checked about Chris as frequently and he pulls this.

Chris, since you read this blog and our comments, There's no conspiracy that is why you are in the position you are in now. Content creators have demonstrated why and Dan has demonstrated why numerous times but you plug in your ears and sing as loud as possible.

And for your own mental benefit, turn off Alex Jones or Ben Shapiro or any right wing shithead you watch. If you are the type who will refuse the vaccine, your only putting your own personal health at risk, if you continue to watch Alex Jones, you can put your mental health at risk, if you continue to play the victim card over why your channel faltered, you're never going to learn.

I know you're going to log into one of your alternate accounts and spam my comments section but it's the truth.

  6. New FB-Post:

"I am truly blessed with the fans I have. I was stuck last week after my original camera guys had to cancel last minute from a ghost hunt I was filming. So many of you wanted to jump in to help, I am very honored by it all. It was a hard decision picking the final two but I've been combing through the footage and it turned out great! Here's a freeze frame from the video. For all my fans interested on my latest quest into the paranormal, a teaser video is coming soon."

  7. Chris just posted about TAPS about to do a ghost hunt at Collingwood Arts Center. Hoo boy, the ego!

    1. "A lot of people are asking me what I think of the Ghost Hunters going to the place I was a tour guide at for 5 years and really honed my craft in the field. I’ll definitely watch since the place is extremely haunted, but the nuns haunting the place are super picky on who they interact with. During my tenure I was able to pull out activity like no one’s business. After leaving, things turned aggressive before greatly diminishing so I’m curious if they will get anything at all.
Secondly it’s interesting to note that TAPS first wanted to come in 2016 after I told the host Steve about the place. Unfortunately they called and absolutely refused to allow a fellow ghost hunter on screen to show them around to point out the hotspots. Like huh?? Turns out behind the scenes it’s very much like that since I’ve had subsequent interactions with them that were very revealing. So it never happened. I am however very curious to see who leads them around and gets to inform them of the back history of the place because I ended up taking all my stories and hidden history of Collingwood with me after I left. I hope they really get things right because the spirits there are very proud of their history. That being said, I wish them all the best."

  12. OT: Is it just me, or does Vic Mignogna still have the most insane fanbase for any voice actor, let alone those in English anime dubbing?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The way you've framed the question suggests a need for external validation. If you believe it then you shouldn't need any. If you're of the opinion that Vic's fanbase is insane, then it is what it is, at least for you. Who cares what other people think?

Now if you're legitimately interested in other people's opinions about Vic you ought to just ask.

      Delete
    2. Well, look at how people reacted to the allegations of what he did to other people at conventions. It was all over the place for a long time within the anime community, and people were very divisive about it. On the one hand, people took those accusations with a grain of salt while others were really rabidly trying to defend him. (Supposedly, the evidence turned out to be a lie, though...)

  13. "I could write a book about what I saw". Then, do it! Carl Sagan had said that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. So, start writing the book already and expose all the lies and the scandals. You claim that have all the hard evidence to do that, so who's gonna stop you?

"Sorry, they're too powerful and I'm too weak to do that". Classic conspiracy theorist mentality. "I say I'm a brave hero, but I'm too coward and lazy to prove it, so I'm gonna pull out pathetic excuses to prove how weak I actually am". Why I'm not surprised?

  14. Dumb question probably, but didn't Chris get dropped from GotGame a long time ago? Or is he actually still part of their site? If he did get dropped, then it should be pretty obvious why he stopped going to E3. If he DIDN'T get dropped, then GotGame is officially the dumbest gaming site ever.

    1. Searching their website reveals nothing created by Bores for some five years. A separate question to me is be why GotGame still exists. Who goes to GotGame for game news? What do they offer that's not everywhere else minutes after it's announced?

  19. There's still a ton of NES games for AVGN to review, both mediocre and bad:

    • Amagon
    • Athena
    • Baby Boomer
    • Bad Dudes
    • Chubby Cherub
    • City Connection
    • Color-A-Dinosaur
    • Donkey Kong Jr. Math
    • Fisher-Price (3 games for one review)
    • Heavy Sreddin'
    • King's Knight
    • Shinobi
    • Urban Champion

So that's 15 NES games that are either meh or just downright terrible.

    1. City Connection isn't actually that bad.

    2. Bores kind of reviewed Donkey Kong Jr. Math in his Donkey Kong video.

    3. I still say he should take a look at the NES game show games. Especially the trio of garbage Hi-Tech Expressions put out based on Fun House, Remote Control, and Win Lose or Draw. Along with American Gladiators by GameTek.

    4. "word of god" has it that prior to COVID, the IG/AVGN crossover was supposed to review American Gladiators.

    5. I think that the Nerd should really review Daikatana. He would probably have a lot to say about this game.

    6. Eh, might as well replace City Connection with Hudson Hawk since CC is actually a decent NES game!

  21. I know the AVGN has spoken this line before, "Have you ever had that feeling like you're being watched?"

However, I think even Chris said the same exact line in one of his own reviews. I think it was his Predator review.

    1. That line was used in a Bugs Bunny cartoon made in the 1940s, called "Hair-Raising Hare". It might even predate that cartoon, for all I know.

  22. If Chris Bores or Doug Walker had made Rex Viper with the same level of quality then would it be shitty even for their standards or would it be their best efforts in years?

I ask as I've only listened to that one live performance (and as a musician myself I can tell they are completely unrehearsed) and I'm really not interested in checking out the songs as I think the 80's were the most overrated decade for rock.

  23. New Video about ghosts and he is remastering Season 4:

"I'm finally getting around to remastering Season 4 of the Irate Gamer Show. Wow talk about a blast from the past. I forgot half this stuff. I can't believe how much freaking work I put into these episodes. I wish I had a whole crew working on these as I know the time in between episodes killed any algo momentum that was created.
Watching these brings back a flood of memories about how much damn time I spent on these. They still stand up though, and still very entertaining. So I've been cleaning up a lot of bad white balancing problems and color gradings. I noticed a few areas where I removed bad language since I was trying to be more PC so I put a few of the bad words back in where they belong. Not sure when I'll have this video posted. I haven't even recorded the interview segments yet. But thankfully these episodes have more polish to them than the SD episodes. Those were so time consuming to fix. The first couple of episodes in this season took me a while to fix/clean since I filmed them with a subpar camera I was temporarily owned before settling on the one I used for the rest of seasons 4,5,6,etc. And I unknowingly rendered them out in 1280x780 since HD was so new at the time, i had no idea what I was doing. So this will be the first time some of these episodes get the upscaled 1920x1080 treatment. I could go on and on but I don't want to bore with the details."

I wonder who cares!? Chris Priorities are, well, whatever.

    2. yeah
after i looked on it. his "5th Season" got a runtime of 112min and 29sec. From the first to the last episode (upload date) were 1290 in between. So every 11 and a half day he did one minute for his "movie". I mean look at his episodes.
As an example, between He-Man (~6min episode!?) and Silver Surfer(~10min episode) was a gap of 7,5 months. He was just being lazy. Just look at him now, asking his fans if they want a new episode. So the first thought on his mind, "ah, got to remaster this season even though i cried before they dont get me viewes, and yeah some more ghosts nobody cares about, but trust me i got something big in the future, i cant talk about in over two years, damn i have to face it, I'm a nobody now. At least my haters care about me.

      :) Luv ya

"I finally got to see the batman movie. What did everyone else think? I thought it was decent, dont get me wrong, but two big problems. It was too damn long. a lot could've been reserved for an extended cut. Secondly, it was too dark and gritty. Batman should be something I take my kids too and not have to worry. This was not that. 5. I kind of agree with Chris here... dark is fine but the movie was downright depressing with not even a touch of humor. Instead we get mafia/drugs and terrorism...

I think the Nolans Batman was as dark as it needed to be, we didnt need to take it one step further. With that said I don't agree with needing a childfriendly Batman.
